Background and purpose: Effective treatment for cervical cancer patients is one of the global strategies to eliminate cervical cancer. By analyzing the metastasis characteristics and survival status of patients with distant metastasis of cervical cancer from a hospital-based cancer registry data, our study provided real-world evidence for better survival of cervical cancer and finally eliminating cervical cancer. Methods: A total of 572 cervical cancer patients who had metastasis cancer at the initial diagnosis or developed distant metastasis during follow-up in Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center from 2008 to 2017 were included in this study. Medical records review, telephone visits and death registry data linkage were applied in collecting endpoint data. The first follow-up date was the diagnose date of metastasis, and the last follow-up date was November 1, 2020. Kaplan-Meier method was applied in evaluating the 1-, 3- and 5-year overall survival (OS) rates for overall and site-specific patients. Results: The median follow-up time was 38.93 months, and 348 cases died during the follow-up. 72.55% were single site metastasis, and 27.45% were multiple metastases. Among all metastatic sites, the proportion of lung metastasis was the highest, 41.26%, 15.21% to bone, and 11.54% to liver. After metastasis, the 1-year, 3-year and 5-year OS rates were 62.29% (95% CI: 62.25-62.33), 33.13% (95% CI: 33.08-33.18) and 23.42% (95% CI: 23.37-23.47), respectively. In single site metastasis, 1-year OS was the highest after metastasis to the lung (72.52%). Besides, there was no significant difference among different metastatic sites, both in 3-year and 5-year OS. Conclusion: The most frequent distant metastatic sites of cervical cancer are lung, bone and liver. The survival rate after metastasis is poor. Further research with systematic treatment strategy is required for better survival.

Background and purpose: Follow-up data of 6 737 patients undergoing surgery for gastric cancer were collected based on hospital registration, and the 1-, 3- and 5-years observed overall survival (OS) rates and disease-free survival (DFS) rates were analyzed to provide real-world research evidence for the prevention and control of gastric cancer and policy making in China. Methods: A total of 6 737 gastric cancer patients who underwent surgical treatment at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer center from 2015 to 2020 were included in this study. Clinical information and the follow-up endpoint data were collected through medical records review, telephone visits and death registry data linkage. The last follow-up date was November 30, 2023. Kaplan-Meier method was applied in evaluating the 1-, 3- and 5-year OS rate and DFS rate, and survival data were described by different subgroups including age group, gender, treatment period, tumor staging, and pathological characteristics. Results: With a median follow-up time of 50.99 months, the 5-year OS rate of surgically resected gastric cancer patients was 70.37%, and 5-year DFS rate in Ⅰ-Ⅲ stage cases was 69.46%. The 5-year OS rates of stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were 94.32%, 82.56%, 51.01% and 23.97%, respectively. The differences in survival among patients with different age, tumor location, gross classification, Borrmann classification and Laurence classification were significant. Conclusion: Staging is an important factor directly affecting the survival of gastric cancer patients. Screening and early diagnosis and treatment in large population, especially high-risk group, should be strengthened to further improve the patients’ survival.

Background and purpose: Artificial intelligence (AI) technology is increasingly being used in the medical field. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of artificial intelligence ultrasound system for identifying breast lesions in Chinese women and its role in breast cancer early detection. Methods: A prospective study was conducted on healthy women aged 35-74 years who came to Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center from August 2020 to December 2020 for breast ultrasonography. All the women were examined by AI-assisted ultrasound first, and then by conventional ultrasonography. We compared the differences between AI-assisted ultrasound and conventional ultrasonography in identifying breast lesions in Chinese women. One year later, we looked up the hospital medical history and Shanghai Cancer Registration Management System for the final diagnosis of breast cancer. Results: A total of 360 women were included in the study and received breast examinations using both AI-assisted ultrasound and conventional ultrasound. A total of 2 504 breast lesions were detected, of which, 2 217 were detected by AI-assisted ultrasound, with a lesion recognition rate of 88.5%. Conventional ultrasound identified 1 090 lesions, with a lesion recognition rate of 43.5%. Using conventional ultrasound as the standard, the sensitivity and specificity of AI-assisted ultrasound for Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) level 4 and above lesions were 93.3% (95% CI: 80.7-98.3) and 100.0% (95% CI: 99.5-100.0), respectively. During one-year follow-up, 10 patients were diagnosed with breast cancer, and 8 of whom were identified by both AI-assisted ultrasound and conventional B ultrasound. The sensitivity of AI-assisted ultrasound and conventional ultrasound for breast cancer was 80.0% (95% CI: 44.2-96.4), and the specificity was 88.6% (95% CI: 84.6-91.6). Conclusion: AI-assisted ultrasound has good identification ability for breast lesions in Chinese women. The recognition ability for high-risk breast lesions (BI-RADS 4A and above) and early breast cancer is equivalent to that of conventional ultrasound, which is suitable for breast cancer screening in large-scale community of women with general risk.

In the year 2023, 1 958 310 new cancer cases and 609 820 cancer deaths are projected to occur in the United States, estimated by Cancer Statistics, published by American Cancer Society. An accelerated decline in mortality rate of cancer continues since it reached the peak in 1991. The treatment advance brought survival benefit to patients which mainly contribute to the decline along with tobacco control and screening. COVID-19 pandemic caused 350 831 mortality and ranked 3rd in cause of death in 2020, and the mortality had a significant increase in multiple causes of death including cancer. By comparing the data of China and the United States released by GLOBOCAN database in 2020, it is found that, although the influence of the pandemic on cancer has not been evaluated. Although the incidence and mortality of cancer differ between US and China, the experiences are worth learning. Improving the standardization of diagnosis and treatment, enhancing the accessibility of cancer health care, upgrading the coverage of screening and increasing the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rate are proven to be effective ways to reduce the mortality of cancer.

Background and purpose: Currently, several studies have demonstrated that body mass index (BMI) is a prognostic factor in breast cancer. The study aimed to assess the association pattern of BMI with mortality risk among patients of different age groups. Methods: This retrospective cohort study included the clinical characteristics and survival status of 25 629 patients diagnosed with breast cancer and subsequently hospitalized in Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2016. The association between BMI and prognosis of breast cancer patients in different age subgroups was analyzed using Cox proportional hazards regression model with restricted cubic splines adjusting the main prognostic factors. Results: BMI and age were both influencing factors of breast cancer prognosis, and there was a significant interaction (P = 0.011). The pattern of association between risk of death and BMI differed among different age groups. A "J-shaped" association between risk of death and BMI was observed in the patients younger than 35 years, with a BMI of 20.16 kg/m2 corresponding to the lowest risk of death. In the age group of 35-60 years, no significant change in the risk of death was observed in patients with BMI below 23 kg/m2, and the risk of death in patients with BMI above 23 kg/m2 increased with increasing BMI; A "U-shaped" association between risk of death and BMI was observed in the patients older than 60 years, with a BMI of 23.86 kg/m2 being the lowest. The risk of death was more sensitive to changes in BMI in patients aged less than 35 years than in those aged 35-60 years and those aged more than 60 years. Conclusion: BMI and age have a significant interaction in the prognosis of breast cancer when adjusted for potential confounding factors. The association pattern between the risk of death and BMI of patients in different age groups is different. For patients under 35 years old, the lowest risk of death corresponds to BMI at diagnosis of about 20 kg/m2, while for patients over 60 years old, the lowest risk of death corresponds to a BMI at diagnosis of about 24 kg/m2.

Background: The objective of this study was to explore the abilities of atezolizumab plus chemotherapy in preventing brain metastases (BMs) among metastatic non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without initial BMs, as well as the risk factors of BMs. Methods: Individual patient data from three trials involving first‐line atezolizumab for metastatic NSCLC (IMpower130, IMpower131, and IMpower150) were pooled. Among patients without baseline BMs and without epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and/or anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) mutations, those receiving atezolizumab + chemotherapy ± bevacizumab were classified as the atezolizumab plus chemotherapy group and those receiving placebo + chemotherapy ± bevacizumab were classified as the chemotherapy group. The cumulative incidences of BM (CI‐BMs) between the two groups were compared. Other factors associated with the CI‐BM were analyzed by Cox regression analyses. Results: With a median follow‐up of 17.6 months (range, 0.03–33.64 months), 74 (3.1%) of the 2380 enrolled patients developed BMs, including 50 (3.1%) and 24 (3.0%) in the atezolizumab plus chemotherapy group (n = 1589) and the chemotherapy group (n = 791), respectively. The CI‐BMs at 6, 12, and 24 months were 1.7%, 2.8%, and 3.3%, respectively. After taking competing risk events into account, there was no significant difference in the CI‐BMs between the two groups (p =.888). Nevertheless, the use of bevacizumab and the histology of nonsquamous NSCLC were found to be independently associated with the risk of BMs. Conclusions: In patients with metastatic EGFR/ALK wild‐type NSCLC without baseline BMs, adding atezolizumab in the first‐line treatment might not reduce the CI‐BM. However, the administration of bevacizumab may reduce the risk of BMs. In patients with metastatic EGFR/ALK wild‐type non–small cell lung cancer without baseline brain metastases (BMs), adding atezolizumab in the first‐line treatment could not reduce the cumulative incidence of BM. Background and purpose: We analyzed the distribution of metastatic sites and survival of lung cancer patients with metastases based on hospital registration to provide real-world data support for the treatment and survival management of lung cancer patients. Methods: A total of 1 490 lung cancer patients who developed metastasis during the follow-up in Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center from 2008 to 2017 were enrolled in this study. Medical records review, telephone visits and death registry data linkage were applied in collecting endpoint data. The effects of age at diagnosis, gender and histological subtype on the distribution of metastases were studied. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to evaluate the overall survival (OS) rates of different metastatic sites. Results: The median follow-up time was 40.8 months. During the follow-up period, 937 cases died from all causes. 67.7% of patients only had single-site metastasis, while 32.3% of patients had multiple-site metastases. The common metastatic sites were bone (33.8%), brain (33.6%), lung (22.8%), liver (12.0%) and adrenal gland (3.7%). Female patients had more metastases to brain (37.8% vs 31.4%). Younger patients were more likely to develop multiple-site metastases, and small cell carcinomas patients had more brain metastases (47.2%) and liver metastases (20.9%). Lung metastasis featured relatively best survival (1-year OS rate: 78.3%, 3-year OS rate: 47.1%, 5-year OS rate: 29.5%), whereas liver metastasis had relatively the worst prognosis (1-year OS rate: 46.4%, 3-year OS rate: 15.2%, 5-year OS rate: 3.6%). Conclusion: The proportions of bone and brain metastases in lung cancer patients with metastasis are high. The distribution of metastatic sites is associated with gender, age at diagnosis and histological type. The prognosis of patient with different metastatic sites is different. Mechanisms or clinical treatment plans can be studied for different metastatic sites to improve the prognosis of late-stage lung cancer patients in future research.

Background and purpose: Metastasis remains the cause of 90% of death from cancer. By analyzing the distribution of metastatic sites and survival status of 20 000 metastatic cancer patients from a hospital-based cancer registry database, this study provides the real-world data for the cancer treatment and survival management in China. Methods: A total of 20 067 cancer patients who were diagnosed as having metastatic caner or developed metastasis during the follow-up in Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center from 2008 to 2017 were included in this study. Medical records review, telephone visits and death registry data linkage were applied in collecting endpoint data. The first follow-up date was the diagnosis date of metastasis, and the last follow-up date was November 1, 2020. Kaplan-Meier method was applied in evaluating the 1-, 3- and 5-year overall survival (OS) rates for overall cancer and site-specific cancer patients. Results: The median follow-up time was 46.7 months, 13 170 cases died during the follow- up, 60.05% was single-site metastasis, and 39.95% was multiple-site metastasis. Among all metastable sites, the proportion of metastasis to liver was 33.82%, 26.25% to lung, 26.22% to bone, and 9.22% to brain. The incidence of brain metastasis was the highest in lung cancer patients among all cancer types (31.14%). Liver was the most frequent metastatic site in pancreatic cancer (77.85%), and bone was the most frequent metastatic site in patients with prostate cancer (83.20%). Background and Aim: The spatial distribution and interactions of cells in the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) might be related to the different responses of triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) to immunomodulators. The potential of multiplex IHC (m‐IHC) in evaluating the TIME has been reported, but the efficacy is insufficient. We aimed to research whether m‐IHC results could be used to reflect the TIME, and thus to predict prognosis and complement the TNBC subtyping system. Methods: The clinical, imaging, and prognosis data for 86 TNBC patients were retrospectively reviewed. CD3, CD4, CD8, Foxp3, PD‐L1, and Pan‐CK markers were stained by m‐IHC. Particular cell spatial distributions and interactions in the TIME were evaluated with the HALO multispectral analysis platform. Then, we calculated the prognostic value of components of the TIME and their correlations with TNBC transcriptomic subtypes and MRI radiomic features reflecting TNBC subtypes. Results: The components of the TIME score were established by m‐IHC and demonstrated positive prognostic value for TNBC (p = 0.0047, 0.039, <0.0001 for DMFS, RFS, and OS). The score was calculated from several indicators, including Treg% in the tumor core (TC) or stromal area (SA), PD‐L1+ cell% in the SA, CD3 + cell% in the TC, and PD‐L1+/CD8+ cells in the invasive margin and SA. According to the TNBC subtyping system, a few TIME indicators were significantly different in different subtypes and significantly correlated with MRI radiomic features reflecting TNBC subtypes. Conclusion: We demonstrated that the m‐IHC‐based quantitative score and indicators related to the spatial distribution and interactions of cells in the TIME can aid in the accurate diagnosis of TNBC in terms of prognosis and classification. In deep learning, it is common to encounter data observed at different frequencies. Mixed data sampling (MIDAS) is an efficient technique for handling mixed frequency data, where a high frequency predictor is converted into a set of low frequency variables using the frequency alignment approach and parametric function constraints. This efficiently prevents the proliferation of parameters, ensuring the consistency of data frequency. We introduce the MIDAS technique into the deep learning architecture and develop a novel deep learning‐MIDAS (DL‐MIDAS) model, which enables to conduct deep learning on raw mixed frequency data directly. Its efficacy is then illustrated through extensive Monte Carlo simulations and a real‐world application. The simulation experiments show that the DL‐MIDAS model is able to explore nonlinear patterns in mixed frequency data and achieves more stable and accurate prediction results than several competing models, such as the artificial neural network for mixed frequency data (ANN‐MIDAS), long short‐term memory (LSTM), and MIDAS regressions. Additionally, the real‐world application of predicting the inflation rate of China also confirms the strength of DL‐MIDAS. China, as the one of the largest developing countries in the world and with about one‐fifth of the global population, is bearing an increasing burden on health from cancer. In the area of esophageal cancer (EC), China accounts for more than 50% of the global cases, with this disease being a particularly worse for those in disadvantaged populations. Along with China's socioeconomic condition, the epidemiology, diagnosis, therapeutics and research of EC have developed throughout the 21st century. In the current review, existing control measures for EC in China are outlined, including the incidence, mortality, screening, clinical diagnosis, multidisciplinary treatment and research landscape. EC in China are very different from those in some other parts of the world, especially in Western countries. Core measures that could contribute to the prevention of EC and improve clinical outcomes in patients of less developed countries and beyond are recommended. Background: Esophageal cancer (EC) is a global health problem. Asia represents a huge burden of EC globally, and incidence and mortality vary considerably across different Asian regions. Methods: Data on incidence, mortality, and preference were extracted from GLOBOCAN 2020. Age‐standardized incidence and mortality rates were calculated overall by sex, age, country, region, and continent. The predicted burden of incidence and mortality in 2040 was calculated based on global demographic projections. Results: It was estimated there were 481 552 new cases of and 434 363 deaths from EC in Asia in 2020, accounting for 79.7% and 79.8% of world EC cases and deaths, respectively. EC incidence and mortality in Asia ranked the highest among all continents. Eastern Asia represents the highest age‐standardized world incidence rate (ASWIR) of 12.3 per 100 000 for all Asian regions. Western Asia represents the lowest ASWIR of 1.7 per 100 000, accounting for 0.7% of the globe. There exist obvious differences in epidemiological features in Asian countries, including incidence, mortality, prevalence, and mortality incidence ratio. There is forecast to be up to 781 000 new cases of EC in Asia by 2040, with increasing rates of 63% for incidence and 72% for mortality from 2020. Conclusions: Asia has an increasing number of EC cases and deaths. Strategies for targeting in high‐incidence areas, the elderly, and survival should be prioritized to reduce the global EC burden, especially in low‐ and middle‐income countries in Asia. Few-layer chemical vapor deposition (CVD) graphene was successively wet-transferred on a magnetron sputtering Ag/TiO2 film to develop a recyclable surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate with high sensitivity, stability, and reproducibility owing to the passivation of graphene, the SERS function of Ag and the photocatalytic activity of TiO2. The detection limit of rhodamine 6G (R6G) for the graphene/Ag/TiO2 nanocomposite could be lowered to 10−11 M, and its enhancement factor was 3.75 × 106. Moreover, a good linear response was observed between Raman intensity and R6G concentration with a fitted curve (R2 = 0.98), demonstrating that the prepared substrate can estimate the concentration of probe molecules for practical testing applications. Importantly, the homogeneity of the substrate structure and the passivation protection of the graphene layer resulted in excellent reproducibility (relative standard deviation less than 9%) and stability (the substrate maintained good SERS activity after 30 days of exposure to air) of the SERS substrate. Besides, the photocatalytic properties of TiO2 could eliminate the Raman signal of methylene blue (MB) efficiently and make this substrate recyclable. After being reused five times, its excellent SERS performance was still retained. Thus, the successful preparation of this composite structure opens up new avenues for the construction of high-performance multilayer composite SERS substrate, which is expected to become a new type of ultra-sensitive, highly stable, and reusable analytical tool. The dynamics of Bose–Einstein condensates in a one-dimensional ring optical lattice is related to the interplay of the open system conditions and the initial atomic distribution. The circulation evaluation model based on the relative atomic density on each site is established to analyze the circulation strength under low dissipation. The direction of the circulation due to the symmetry breaking can be manipulated by changing the primary atomic distribution and the number of lattice sites. Introduction: Definitive chemoradiotherapy has established the standard non-surgical treatment for locally advanced esophageal cancer. The standard dose of 50-50.4 Gy has been established decades ago and been confirmed in modern trials. The theorical advantage of better local control and technical advances for less toxicity have encouraged clinicians for dose escalation investigation. 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) have the potential to tailor therapy for esophageal patients not showing response to CRT and pioneers the PET-based dose escalation.Methods and Analysis: The ESO-Shanghai 12 trial is a prospective multicenter randomized phase 3 study in which patients are randomized to either 61.2 Gy or 50.4 Gy of radiation dose by PET response. Both groups undergo concurrent chemoradiotherapy with paclitaxel/cisplatin regimen for 2 cycles followed by consolidation chemotherapy for 2 cycles. Patients with histologically confirmed ESCC [T1N1-3M0, T2-4NxM0, TxNxM1 (Supraclavicular lymph node metastasis only), (AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, 8th Edition)] and without any prior treatment of chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery against esophageal cancer will be eligible. The primary endpoints included overall survival in PET/CT non-responders (SUVmax > 4.0) and overall survival in total population. Patients will be stratified by standardized uptake volume, gross tumor volume and tumor location. The enrollment could be ended, when the number of PET/CT non-responder reached 132 and the total population reached 646 for randomization.Ethics and Dissemination: This trial has been approved by the Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center Institutional Review Board. The development of a facile surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensor for the on-site detection of trace molecules in liquid phase is a compelling need. In this paper, a three-dimensional (3D) dendritic Au–Ag nanostructure was constructed by a two-step electro displacement reaction in a capillary tube for the on-site liquid phase detection of trace molecules. The multiplasmon resonance mechanism of the dendritic Au–Ag structure was simulated using the finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method. It was confirmed that the highly branched 3D structure promoted the formation of high-density "hot spots" and interacted with the gold nanoparticles at the dendrite tip, gap, and surface to maximize the spatial electric field, which allowed for high signal intensification to be observed. More importantly, the unique structure of the capillary made it possible to achieve the on-site detection of trace molecules in liquids. Using Rhodamine 6G (R6G) solution as a model molecule, the 3D dendritic Au–Ag substrate exhibited a high detection sensitivity (10−13 mol/L). Furthermore, the developed sensor was applied to the detection of antibacterial agents, ciprofloxacin (CIP), with clear Raman characteristic peaks observed even at concentrations as low as 10−9 mol/L. The results demonstrated that the 3D dendritic Au–Ag sensor could successfully realize the rapid on-site SERS detection of trace molecules in liquids, providing a promising platform for ultrasensitive and on-site liquid sample analysis. In this paper, a highly active surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate based on a three-dimensional (3D) dendritic silver nanostructure was constructed in a microfluidic channel by a one-step electrodisplacement reaction for in situ detection of fluid media. The finite difference time domain (FDTD) method was used to simulate the mechanism of multiple surface plasmon resonance of dendritic silver structures. The results showed that the existence of secondary branches in silver dendrites could produce stronger local electric field, which verified the effectiveness of the SERS substrate. In addition, the in situ analysis performance of the microfluid-SERS detection system was investigated in different concentrations of rhodamine 6G (R6G), with a detection limit up to 10−10 mol L−1. The successful practice of this method opened a new way for the fabrication of high-performance microfluidic-SERS integrated sensor systems, and is expected to become a powerful analytical tool in the field of ultra-sensitive and rapid in situ analysis. Evidence of the risk factors associated with early-onset colorectal neoplasm from prospective population-based studies is limited. We enrolled 17,293 participants younger than 50 years from the Shanghai colorectal cancer (CRC) screening program cohort. Face-to-face interviews were performed by trained primary care physicians using a standardized questionnaire to collect the information on potential risk factors at baseline entry. Furthermore, 124 cases of early-onset colorectal neoplasm, including six CRC cases and 118 colorectal adenoma (CRA) cases, were detected between 2012 and 2016. Multivariable logistic regression models and restricted cubic spline (RCS) were used to evaluate the risk factors associated with early-onset colorectal neoplasm. We found that sex, body mass index (BMI), and family history of CRC were associated with the early onset of colorectal neoplasm. The RCS model showed a positive dose–response and linear association between BMI and risk of early-onset colorectal neoplasm among young participants (p-overall = 0.19, p-nonlinear = 0.97). The findings indicated that it was beneficial for normal people younger than 50 years to start opportunistic CRC screening. As for those at high risk, increased surveillance is strongly recommended. Background: Little is known about the prognostic advantage of sex for pulmonary adenocarcinoma among Chinese patients. In this study, we aimed to investigate the true sex differences in prognosis by adjusting for confounders and to explore whether the differences were time‐varying. Methods: We identified 4438 lung adenocarcinoma patients who underwent surgery at a regional Cancer Center of China from 2008 to 2016, retrospectively. Sex, age group, smoking history, year of diagnosis and pathological stage were collected. Time‐dependent Cox regression models with inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) based on propensity score were used to assess the effect of sex and account for confounders. Landmark analyses were conducted to assess survival before, and after, five years. Results: Of these patients, 1761 (39.7%) were men and 2677 (60.3%) were women. Median follow‐up time was 52.6 months. After IPTW adjustment, women were found to have significantly better survival than men varying with time in both crude and IPTW models (hazard ratio [HR] [t] = 0.453*1.015t, where t is the length of time from treatment and its unit is month, p < 0.001). Women had significantly better survival than men within 0–5 years after surgery (HR = 0.763, 95% CI: 0.649–0.897, p = 0.001), whereas there was no difference after five years (HR = 1.135, 95% CI: 0.803–1.605, p = 0.472). In subgroup analysis, women in the 61–71+ age group, in the more than 20 year packs group, pathological stage 0–IB group, and 2013–2016 diagnosis period group revealed the same prognostic pattern. Conclusions: Compared with men, women had better survival after surgical resection of lung adenocarcinoma, especially those who were older and nonsmokers or heavy‐smokers and were pathological stage 0–IB in early years, while the advantage for women diminished with time.
