Yellow fever (YF), caused by the yellow fever virus (YFV), continually spreads and causes epidemics worldwide, posing a great threat to human health. The live-attenuated YF 17D vaccine (YF-17D) has been licensed for preventing YFV infection and administrated via the intramuscular (i.m.) route. In this study, we sought to determine the immunogenicity and protective efficacy of aerosolized YF-17D via the intratracheal (i.t.) route in mice. YF-17D stocks in liquids were successfully aerosolized into particles of 6 μm. Further in vitro phenotype results showed the aerosolization process did not abolish the infectivity of YF-17D. Meanwhile, a single i.t. immunization with aerosolized YF-17D induced robust humoral and cellular immune responses in A129 mice, which is comparable to that received i.p. immunization. Notably, the aerosolized YF-17D also triggered specific secretory IgA (SIgA) production in bronchoalveolar lavage. Additionally, all immunized animals survived a lethal dose of YFV challenge in mice. Theileria spp. are a group of parasites primarily transmitted by ticks and can pose a significant threat to domestic and wild animals globally. The main objective of this study was to understand the epidemiology of Theileria spp. in goats of Hainan Island/province, which is the only tropical region of China, and to study their hematological profiles in naturally infected goats. A total of 464 blood samples were collected from randomly selected local adult goats (Capra hircus, local domestic breed with black hair), from six cities and eight counties of Hainan, from November 2017 to October 2020. Blood smear microscopy of the sample and a nested polymerase chain reaction (nPCR) targeting the 18S rRNA gene combined with DNA sequencing were used to detect piroplasm infections in goats. Data analysis of the obtained sequences revealed that all the sequences were highly similar to the Theileria luwenshuni 18S rRNA gene sequence from the database. This result is consistent with the microscopic examination. In the hematological test, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, and mean corpuscular hemoglobin of the goats naturally infected with T. luwenshuni significantly increased, while mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration and red blood cell distribution width (RDW) were significantly decreased. Results showed that T. luwenshuni could cause macrocytic, hypochromic anemia in goats. This study provides reliable and comprehensive information about the epidemiology of the parasite infections and hematological profile of the infected goats in Hainan, which encourages further investigations to develop practical control strategies for Theileria spp. infections in tropical areas.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common, malignant, and lethal primary brain tumor in adults. Up to now, the chemotherapy approaches for GBM are limited. Therefore, more studies on identifying and exploring new chemotherapy drugs or strategies overcome the GBM are essential. Natural products are an important source of drugs against various human diseases including cancers. With the better understanding of the molecular etiology of GBM, the development of new anti-GBM drugs has been increasing. Here, we summarized recent researches of natural products for the GBM therapy and their potential mechanisms in details, which will provide new ideas for the research on natural products and promote developing drugs from nature products for GBM therapy. Motivated by the idea of batch signatures,two variants of content extraction signature schemes based on commit vector and RSA respectively were presented.In the proposed schemes,the efficiency of signing and verification were improved by unifying certain message.The analysis show that the proposed schemes are existentially unforgeable under chosen message attacks in the random oracle model.

The synthesis, single-crystal structures and magnetic properties of two new double-zigzag-chain cyano-bridged heterobimetallic {[MII(Py-NOH)2][FeIII(Tp*)(CN)3]2}·H2O ([Fe III2 MII]) (Py–NOH = 4-pyridinealdoxime, Tp* = tris(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)borohydride, M = Ni (1), Fe (2)) compounds are reported. The crystal structures of both compounds were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes 1 and 2 are isostructural, with the crystal structure comprising neutral double-zigzag (4,2-ribbon-like) bimetallic chains. The FeIII ion is coordinated by three cyanide carbon atoms and three nitrogen atoms of Tp* anions. However, the MII ion is surrounded by four cyanide nitrogen atoms and two nitrogen atoms from two Py-NOH ligands. The crystal structures and magnetic studies demonstrate that both complexes behave as single-chain magnetics (SCMs) with intrachain ferromagnetic coupling. Furthermore, [Fe III2 NiII] exhibits an excellent coercive field of 0.42 T at 1.8 K, among cyano-bridged 3d transition-metal-based SCMs reported thus far. Summary: Placental trophoblastic cells play important roles in placental development and fetal health. However, the mechanism of trophoblastic cell fusion is still not entirely clear. The level of Tspan5 in the embryo culture medium was detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Fusion of BeWo cells was observed by immunofluorescence. Cell fusion-related factors and EMT-related factors were identified by qRT-PCR and western blotting. Notch protein repressor DAPT was used to verify the role of Tspan5 in BeWo cells. The expression of Tspan5 was significantly increased in embryo culture medium. The fusion of BeWo cells was observed after treatment with forskolin (FSK). Cell fusion-related factors (i.e. β-hCG and syncytin 1/2) and Tspan5 were significantly increased after FSK treatment. In addition, FSK treatment promoted EMT-related protein expression in BeWo cells. Knockdown of Tspan5 inhibited cell fusion and EMT-related protein levels. Notch-1 and Jagged-1 protein levels were significantly upregulated, and the EMT process was activated by overexpression of Tspan5 in FSK-treated BeWo cells. Interestingly, blocking the Notch pathway by the repressor DAPT had the opposite results. These results indicated that Tspan5 could promote the EMT process by activating the Notch pathway, thereby causing cell fusion. These findings contribute to a better understanding of trophoblast cell syncytialization and embryonic development. Tspan5 may be used as a therapeutic target for normal placental development. In this paper, a series of coordination polymers, {[Zn(adb)(L1)2]·solvent}n (L1 = solvent = N,N-dimethylacetamide, Hui-3-DMA; L1 = N,N-dimethylformamide and no solvent, Hui-3-DMF; L1 = N,N-diethylformamide and no solvent, Hui-3-DEF) have been synthesized by hydrothermal reactions of Zn(NO3)3·6H2O and 4,4′-(anthracene-9,10-diyl)dibenzoic acid (H2adb). These compounds show similar one-dimensional (1D) zig-zag chain structures, which are limited by the end-coordination of the solvent molecules. Interestingly, these compounds all show blue-emission properties, which could be easily modulated by using different solvents. Among them, Hui-3-DMA presents an excellent quantum yield performance, as high as to 54.1%, which is very promising for blue-emission materials. Moreover, various-temperature fluorescence studies reveal good linear or exponential decline trends for their emission intensity as temperature increases, demonstrating the potential of these compounds as fluorescent thermometers.
