The practical application of aqueous zinc‐ion batteries (ZIBs) indeed faces challenges primarily attributed to the inherent side reactions and dendrite growth associated with the Zn anode. In the present work, N‐Methylmethanesulfonamide (NMS) is introduced to optimize the transfer, desolvation, and reduction of Zn2+, achieving highly stable and reversible Zn plating/stripping. The NMS molecule can substitute one H2O molecule in the solvation structure of hydrated Zn2+ and be preferentially chemisorbed on the Zn surface to protect Zn anode against corrosion and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), thereby suppressing byproducts formation. Additionally, a robust N‐rich organic and inorganic (ZnS and ZnCO3) hybrid solid electrolyte interphase is in situ generated on Zn anode due to the decomposition of NMS, resulting in enhanced Zn2+ transport kinetics and uniform Zn2+ deposition. Consequently, aqueous cells with the NMS achieve a long lifespan of 2300 h at 1 mA cm−2 and 1 mAh cm−2, high cumulative plated capacity of 3.25 Ah cm−2, and excellent reversibility with an average coulombic efficiency (CE) of 99.7 % over 800 cycles. The development of aqueous rechargeable Zn metal batteries, as one of the most promising large‐scale energy storage technology, is hindered largely by dendrite growth and surface passivation of Zn metal anode, which are deleterious to the battery life and Coulombic efficiency (CE). This report demonstrates that ethylenediamine tetramethylenephosphonic acid can in situ coordinate with Zn (EDTMP‐Zn) along with exposing (002) planes for highly reversible and stable Zn plating/stripping. The zincophilic EDTMP‐Zn layer may serve as ion sieves that homogenize Zn ion flux at the Zn anode surface and consequently induce uniform deposition of Zn. The hydrophobic groups in such functional layer is thought to circumvent the Zn anode surface from corrosion and hydrogen evolution reaction. EDTMP15‐Zn modified Zn anode (EDTMP15‐Zn@Zn) delivers a lifespan exceeding 1400 h at 5 mA cm−2, and 1 mAh cm−2 for Zn||Zn symmetric cell and improved CE of 99.7% over 1000 cycles in a Zn||Cu cell. Crevice corrosion (CC) behavior of 201 stainless steel (SS) in 1 M NaCl + x M HCl/y M NaOH solutions with various pH was investigated using SECM and optical microscopic observations. Results show that the CC was initiated by the decrease in pH value within the crevice. The pH value near the crevice mouth falls rapidly to 1.38 in the first 2 h in the strongly acidic solution, while the pH value was observed to rise firstly and then decrease in the neutral and alkaline solutions. It indicates there is no incubation phase in the CC evolution of 201-SS in a pH = 2.00 solution, while an incubation phase was observed in pH = 7.00 and 11.00 solutions. Additionally, there appeared to be a radial pH variation within the gap over time. The pH value is the lowest at the gap mouth, which is in line with the in situ optical observation result that the severely corroded region is at the mouth of the gap. The decrease in pH value inside results in the negative shift of open circuit potential (OCP) and the initiation of CC of 201-SS. The increased anodic dissolution rate in the acidic solution accelerates the breakdown of passive film inside, reducing the initiation time and stimulating the spread of CC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The energy loss (Eloss) caused by inefficient charge transfer and large energy level offset at the buried interface can easily restrict the performance of p-i-n perovskite solar cells (PVSCs). In this study, the utilization of poly-TPD and P3CT-N as a dual-hole transporting layer (HTLs) was implemented in a sequential manner. This approach aimed to improve the charge transfer efficiency of the HTL and mitigate charge recombination at the interface between the HTL and PVK. The results showed that this strategy also could achieve more suitable energy levels, improve the quality of the perovskite film layer, and ultimately enhance the device's stability. IPVSCs employing the dual-HTLs approach exhibited the highest power conversion efficiency of 19.85%, and the open-circuit voltage increased to 1.09 V from 1.00 V. This study offers a straightforward and efficient approach to boost the device performance by minimizing Eloss and reducing the buried interfacial defects. For the development of aqueous zinc‐ion batteries, exploiting vanadium‐based cathode materials with quick kinetics and acceptable cycling stability is crucial. Herein, to achieve these goals, transition metal ions (Zn2+) and organic ions (C5H14ON+ and Ch+) are introduced into layered hydrated V2O5. The intrinsic high conductivity of Ch+ and the oxygen vacancies generated through ion pre‐intercalation accelerate the electrical mobility by optimizing the electronic structure. The Zn2+ stabilizes the layered structure and the expanded interlayer spacing improves the ionic diffusivity. The synergistic effect of pre‐intercalated Zn2+ and Ch+ results in the (Zn0.1, Ch0.1)V2O4.92·0.56H2O cathode exhibiting a discharge capacity of 473 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1 with a high energy efficiency of 88% and excellent cycling stability with 91% retention after 2000 cycles at 4 A g−1. Ex situ characterizations and density functional theory calculations reveal a reversible intercalation mechanism of Zn2+, and the improved electrochemical kinetics are attributed to the altered electronic conductivity and the reduced binding energy between Zn2+ and host O2−.
