Palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP) is often considered as pustular psoriasis of extremities. Benvitimod has been approved for mild to moderate psoriasis. We thus designed this study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of benvitimod for treating PPP. Of 47 PPP patients recruited from 4 hospitals, 40 finished 8 weeks visit and completed 4 weeks safety follow‐up visit. The Palmoplantar Pustular Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PPPASI) and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) scores fell continuously. At week 8, mean ± SD PPPASI and DLQI were 3.39 ± 3.86 (p < 0.0001) and 2.49 ± 3.34 (p < 0.0001), respectively. At week 8, 70% (28/40) achieved PPPASI‐50 response, 35% (14/40) achieved PPPASI‐75 response, and 17.5% (7/40) achieved PPPASI‐90 response. Relapse occurred in 7.5% (3/40) of the patients. Of 47 patients enrolled, self‐reported compliance was 12.77% (6/47). Common drug‐related adverse events (5/47) included xerosis cutis. Only one patient's disease progressed during treatment. Tool condition monitoring technology is an indispensable part of intelligent manufacturing. Most current research focuses on complex signal processing techniques or advanced deep learning algorithms to improve prediction performance without fully leveraging the end-to-end advantages of deep learning. The challenge lies in transforming multi-sensor raw data into input data suitable for direct model feeding, all while minimizing data scale and preserving sufficient temporal interpretation of tool wear. However, there is no clear reference standard for this so far. In light of this, this paper innovatively explores the processing methods that transform raw data into input data for deep learning models, a process known as an input paradigm. This paper introduces three new input paradigms: the downsampling paradigm, the periodic paradigm, and the subsequence paradigm. Then an improved hybrid model that combines a convolutional neural network (CNN) and bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) was employed to validate the model's performance. The subsequence paradigm demonstrated considerable superiority in prediction results based on the PHM2010 dataset, as the newly generated time series maintained the integrity of the raw data. Further investigation revealed that, with 120 subsequences and the temporal indicator being the maximum value, the model's mean absolute error (MAE) and root mean square error (RMSE) were the lowest after threefold cross-validation, outperforming several classical and contemporary methods. The methods explored in this paper provide references for designing input data for deep learning models, helping to enhance the end-to-end potential of deep learning models, and promoting the industrial deployment and practical application of tool condition monitoring systems. The effect of Yb2O3 and sintering temperature on the densification behavior of magnesium aluminate spinel powder was studied. Results showed that Yb2O3 was beneficial to the sintering densification of MgAl2O4. When the content of Yb2O3 was 3 wt%, the relative density of magnesium aluminium spinel (MAS) was 98.54%, and the microstructure was more compact. The maximum hardness was 21.48 GPa, and the second phase Yb3Al5O12 appeared in the 3 wt% Yb2O3 samples. The mechanism of Yb2O3 in promoting the sintering densification of MAS is due to the appearance of Yb3Al5O12. When the sintering temperature is 1700°C, the relative density of MAS reaches a maximum of 98.54%, the hardness also reaches a maximum value of 21.48 GPa, and the grain size is more uniform. When the temperature exceeds 1700°C, the relative density and hardness of MAS decrease. The best sintering aid content and temperature synergistically worked to promote the densification and increased the hardness of MAS. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

COVID-19 is a widespread illness that affects human life. Following infection, many patients may suffer long-term sequelae of COVID-19. Forsythiae Fructus is a popular herbal treatment for the common cold and flu. According to studies, the active components in Forsythiae Fructus have potent antiviral properties and can treat various diseases by influencing several pathways. This article explores the mechanism of action and effectiveness of the active components in Forsythiae Fructus for treating COVID-19 through a literature review and network pharmacology techniques, emphasizing their effects on sequelae. COVID-19 is a disease that affects the lungs. Forsythiae Fructus is an herb traditionally used in Chinese medicine that has been used to treat infections of the lungs, so we discuss whether it could be used to treat COVID-19 symptoms. We found evidence that this herb could be used to treat COVID-19 symptoms. This implies that Forsythiae Fructus could be investigated as a potential option for treating COVID-19. Work-family interface conflicts have typically been cast in a negative light due to their detrimental consequences. This study offers new insights by uncovering conditions under which such conflicts may produce both positive and negative effects on salesperson job-related behaviors in the context of B2B sales. Drawing on cognitive appraisal theory as an overarching theoretical framework, the authors suggest that informal controls (i.e., professional control and self-control) have differential moderating effects in salespeople's primary and secondary appraisal processes when faced with work-family conflict and family-work conflict. Dyadic data from a matched salesperson-customer sample reveals that professional control amplifies, whereas self-control mitigates, the positive effect of work-family conflict on perceived stress. Professional control amplifies the positive effect of stress on in-role behavior, and self-control strengthens positive effects of stress on in-role behavior and customer-directed extra-role behavior while suppressing unethical behavior under high stress. Moreover, the two types of informal controls moderate the direct effects of family-work conflict on salesperson behaviors in an opposite fashion, such that under a strong professional control, family-work conflict reduces in-role and extra-role behaviors and induces unethical behavior, whereas a strong self-control alleviates such detrimental effects. These findings suggest that work-family interface conflicts should be viewed as a double-edged sword capable of producing both positive and negative consequences under certain conditions, offering new theoretical insights and important managerial implications for this prevalent phenomenon in sales management., Author(s): C. One-factor, three-factor, and higher-order factor structures of the Maslach Burnout Inventory were tested with 183 elementary-secondary teachers and administrators and 162 small business owners. Analyses suggested the three-factor structure was most plausible. Addition of business owners extended the generalizability of the inventory. (SK)

Economic and social exchange provides the theoretical perspectives for this study. In particular, this paper addresses the question: is social exchange valued in its own right (as a separate element alongside economic benefits) or does it rather add value to the economic exchange process? That is, is social exchange a benefit, or is it a facilitating condition? These issues are tested using path analysis with data from a survey among executives of manufacturing firms located in a 10-county area of the southeastern United States. The results support a model wherein social exchange facilitates the relationship between location factors (in particular, transportation access, labor quality, and government support) and location satisfaction. A study is conducted to measure core/primary facets of customer-based brand equity (CBBE), and their relationship with related brand associations and brand response variables is examined by using perceived quality (PQ), perceived value for the cost (PVC), uniqueness, and the willingness to pay a price premium for a brand as facets. The results suggest that PQ, PVC, and brand uniqueness are potential direct antecedents of the willingness to pay a price premium for a brand, and that willingness to pay a price premium is a potential direct antecedent of brand purchase behavior.

Liriodendron is a genus of the magnolia family comprised of two flowering tree species that produce hardwoods of great ecological and economic value. However, only a limited amount of genetic research has been performed on the Liriodendron genus partly because transient or stable transgenic trees have been difficult to produce. In general, transient expression systems are indispensable for rapid, high-throughput screening and systematic characterization of gene functions at a low cost; therefore, development of such a system for Liriodendron would provide a necessary step forward for research on Magnoliaceae and other woody trees. Herein, we describe an efficient and rapid protocol for preparing protoplasts from the leaf mesophyll tissue of a Liriodendron hybrid and an optimized system for polyethylene glycol–mediated transient transfection of the protoplasts. Because the leaves of the Liriodendron hybrid are waxy, we formulated an enzyme mix containing 1.5% (w/v) Cellulase R-10, 0.5% (w/v) Macerozyme R-10, and 0.1% (w/v) Pectolyase Y-23 to efficiently isolate protoplasts from the Liriodendron hybrid leaf mesophyll tissue in 3 h. We optimized Liriodendron protoplast transfection efficiency by including 20 μg plasmid DNA per 104 protoplasts, a transformation time of 20 min, and inclusion of 20% (w/v) polyethylene glycol 4000. After integrating the Liriodendron WOX1 gene into pJIT166-GFP to produce a WOX1-GFP fusion product and transfecting it into isolated protoplasts, LhWOX1-GFP was found to localize to the nucleus according to its green fluorescence. We describe two rarely documented cases of telangiectasia macularis multiplex acquisita ( TMMA) with a history of hepatitis B infection. Both patients presented with multiple erythematous macules and telangiectasia on bilateral upper arms and the upper part of the trunk. Patient 1 also had spider naevi on the upper part of the chest and palmar erythema; thus we inferred that TMMA, like spider naevi and palmar erythema, might belong to the spectrum of vascular changes of liver diseases. PIN-FORMED 1 (PIN1) is an important secondary transporter and determines the direction of intercellular auxin flow. As PIN1 performs the conserved function of auxin transport, it is expected that the sequence and structure of PIN1 is conserved. Therefore, we hypothesized that PIN1 evolve under pervasive purifying selection in the protein-coding sequences in angiosperm. To test this hypothesis, we performed detailed evolutionary analyses of 67 PIN1 sequences from 35 angiosperm species. We found that the PIN1 sequences are highly conserved within their transmembrane regions, part of their hydrophilic regions. We also found that there are two or more PIN1 copies in some of these angiosperm species. PIN1 sequences from Poaceae and Brassicaceae are representative of the modern clade. We identified 12 highly conserved motifs and a significant number of family-specific sites within these motifs. One family-specific site within Motif 11 shows a different residue between monocots and dicots, and is functionally critical for the polarity of PIN1. Likewise, the function of PIN1 appears to be different between monocots and dicots since the phenotype associated with PIN1 overexpression is opposite between Arabidopsis and rice. The evolution of angiosperm PIN1 protein-coding sequences appears to have been primarily driven by purifying selection, but traces of positive selection associated with sequences from certain families also seem to be present. We verified this observation by calculating the numbers of non-synonymous and synonymous changes on each branch of a phylogenetic tree. Our results indicate that the evolution of angiosperm PIN1 sequences involve strong purifying selection. In addition, our results suggest that the conserved sequences of PIN1 derive from a combination of the family-specific site variations and conserved motifs during their unique evolutionary processes, which is critical for the functional integrity and stability of these auxin transporters, especially in new species. Finally, functional difference of PIN1 is likely to be present in angiosperm because the positive selection is occurred in one branch of Poaceae. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
