They are particularly helpful in Orthopaedic surgery as the outcomes have been shown to be responsive to recovery over time. The primary aim is to investigate if a patient measured 6MWT is comparable to a 6MWT performed under formal testing conditions (Täger et al., Int. J. Cardiol. 2014, 176, 94–98).A total of 55 patients undergoing elective primary hip or knee replacement were instructed to use a smart watch to record a 6MWT in their home community environment (C‐6MWT). These measurements were compared to a formally tested 6MWT (F‐6MWT) at 2 separate time periods—6 and 12 weeks post‐surgery.At 6 weeks post operation the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient between a formally tested and a patient self‐administered 6MWT was 0.928 (95% CI 0.832–0.970) and at 12 weeks it was 0.831 (0594–0.935).A patient recorded 6 minute walk test shows high agreement with a formally recorded one under research conditions. Background: Frailty is prevalent in lung transplant (LTx) candidates, but the impact and subsequent frailty trajectory is unclear. This study aimed to investigate frailty over the first year after LTx. Method: Post‐LTx recipients completed a thrice weekly 12‐week directly supervised exercise rehabilitation program. Edmonton Frail Scale (EFS) was used to assess frailty. Primary outcome was 6‐Minute Walk Distance (6MWD) measured at pre‐LTx, prerehabilitation, postrehabilitation, and 1 year post‐LTx. Results: 106 of 139 recruited participants underwent LTx: mean age 58 years, 48% male, 52% with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Mean (± SD) frailty scores pre‐LTx and 1 year post‐LTx were 5.54 ± 2.4 and 3.28 ±1.5. Mean 6MWD improved significantly for all: prerehabilitation 326 m (SD 116), versus postrehabilitation 523 m (SD 101) (p < 0.001) versus 1 year 512 m (SD 120) (p < 0.001). There were significant differences between an EFS > 7 (frail) and EFS ≤ 7 (not frail) for 6MWD, grip strength (GS), anxiety, and depression. Postrehabilitation, there were no significant differences in 6MWD, GS, anxiety, or depression while comparing EFS > 7 versus ≤ 7. At 1 year, there was a significant difference in depression but not 6MWD, GS, or anxiety between those EFS ≤ 7 and > 7 (p = 0.017). Conclusion: Participants in a structured post‐LTx rehabilitation program improved in functional exercise capacity (6MWD), GS, depression, and anxiety. For frail participants exercise capacity, depression, anxiety, and GS were well managed in rehabilitation with no significant differences between those who were not frail. The independent predictive power of fatigue for community integration has not been investigated, although there is an increasing amount of literature that recognizes the importance of fatigue in people with stroke. To examine the correlation between community integration and fatigue, walking endurance, and fear of falling; and to quantify the relative contribution of fatigue to community integration in people with stroke. This was a cross-sectional study with 75 community-dwelling people with stroke. Data were collected using the Community Integration Measure (CIM), Fatigue Assessment Scale (FAS), 6-minute walk test (6MWT), and Survey of Activities and Fear of Falling in the Elderly (SAFE). Multiple linear regressions (forced entry method) were used to quantify the relative power of the FAS score to predict community integration in a model covering distance in the 6MWT and the SAFE score. After controlling for age, the CIM score significantly correlated with the scores for FAS (r=-0.48, p < 0.001), 6MWT distance (r = 0.24, p = 0.039), and SAFE (r=-0.39, p = 0.001). The entire model, including age, FAS score, 6MWT distance, and SAFE score, explained 26.1% of the variance in the CIM scores (F [4, 70] = 7.52, p < 0.001). The FAS scores independently explained 10.6% of the variance in the CIM scores. BACKGROUND: LMNA (lamin A/C)-related dilated cardiomyopathy is a rare genetic cause of heart failure. In a phase 2 trial and long-term extension, the selective p38a MAPK (mitogen-activated protein kinase) inhibitor, ARRY-371797 (PF-07265803), was associated with an improved 6-minute walk test at 12 weeks, which was preserved over 144 weeks. REALM-DCM (NCT03439514) was a phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in patients with symptomatic LMNA-related dilated cardiomyopathy. Patients with confirmed LMNA variants, New York Heart Association class II/III symptoms, left ventricular ejection fraction =50%, implanted cardioverter-defibrillator, and reduced 6-minute walk test distance were randomized to ARRY-371797 400 mg twice daily or placebo. The primary outcome was a change from baseline at week 24 in the 6-minute walk test distance using stratified Hodges-Lehmann estimation and the van Elteren test. Secondary outcomes using similar methodology included change from baseline at week 24 in the Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire-physical limitation and total symptom scores, and NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide) concentration. Time to a composite outcome of worsening heart failure or all-cause mortality and overall survival were evaluated using Kaplan-Meier and Cox proportional hazards analyses. RESULTS: REALM-DCM was terminated after a planned interim analysis suggested futility. Between April 2018 and October 2022, 77 patients (aged 23-72 years) received ARRY-371797 (n=40) or placebo (n=37). No significant differences (P>0.05) between groups were observed in the change from baseline at week 24 for all outcomes: 6-minute walk test distance (median difference, 4.9 m [95% CI, -24.2 to 34.1]; P=0.82); Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire-physical limitation score (2.4 [95% CI, -6.4 to 11.2]; P=0.54); Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire-total symptom score (5.3 [95% CI, -4.3 to 14.9]; P=0.48); and NT-proBNP concentration (-339.4 pg/mL [95% CI, -1131.6 to 452.7]; P=0.17). The composite outcome of worsening heart failure or all-cause mortality (hazard ratio, 0.43 [95% CI, 0.11-1.74]; P=0.23) and overall survival (hazard ratio, 1.19 [95% CI, 0.23-6.02]; P=0.84) were similar between groups. No new safety findings were observed. CONCLUSIONS:' Findings from REALM-DCM demonstrated futility without safety concerns. Objective: There is evidence that indicates that the Walked Distance (WD) in the 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) would be sensitive to the type of track and encouragement. The aim of study was compared the impact of track type and verbal encouragement provided in the 6MWT on WD, physiological cost, perceived exertion, and gait efficiency in healthy young adults unfamiliar with the test. Method: WD, heart rate, subjective sensation of dyspnea (SSD), and fatigue (SSF) were measured in four 6MWT protocols: i) 30 m linear track and protocolized encouragement (LT + PE), ii) 30mlinear track and constant encouragement (LT + CE), iii) 81m elliptical track and protocolized encouragement (ET + PE), and iv) 81m elliptical track and constant encouragement (ET + CE). In addition, the Gait Efficiency Index (GIE) associated with physiological cost, dyspnea and fatigue was calculated and compared between the different protocols. Results: TheWD was significantly higher in the ET + CE protocol. The percentage of the heart rate reserve used (%HRRu) at minute 6 was higher in the ET + CE protocol. The SSD and SSD had difference in startup time between the protocols. The GEI was higher in %HRRu, SSD, and SSF for the ET + CE protocol. Conclusion: The ET + CE protocol showed a significant increase inWDduring the 6MWT in healthy young adults. Although it obtained the highest physiological cost, it did not present perceptual differences when entering cardiopulmonary assessment windows relevant to a more efficient test for the participant. It is advisable to discuss, based on the findings, the fundamental objective of the 6MWT and national and international recommendations to achieve a result as close as possible to the real maximal effort. Peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) using the fingers may have important limitations due to Raynaud's phenomenon and sclerodactyly in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc). Sensors located at more central body positions may be more accurate as these as less prone to Raynaud attacks. To determine the validity and reliability of the SpO2 measured at the finger, forehead, and earlobe during the 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT). Eighty two patients with SSc had an arterial line placed while performing the 6MWT. Peripheral oxygen saturation was simultaneously measured by finger, forehead, and earlobe sensors and compared to the arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2) measured before and after the 6MWT. 40 patients repeated the 6MWT one week later to determine re-test reliability. We used Bland–Altman plots to display the agreement between SpO2 and SaO2. The intraclass correlation coefficient for repeated measurement of minimum SpO2 was calculated. The mean difference between SpO2 and SaO2 after the 6MWT was − 3% (SD: ± 5), 0% (SD: ± 2), and 1% (SD: ± 2) for the finger, forehead, and earlobe, respectively. The minimum SpO2 measured at the finger demonstrated the poorest re-test reliability: The ICC (95% CI) showed good agreement using the ear and forehead probe (ICCear = 0.89 [95% CI 0.80; 0.94]; ICCforehead = 0.77 [95% CI 0.60; 0.87]), while a modest reliability was found using the finger probe (ICCfinger = 0.65 95% CI [0.43; 0.80]). Background: Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is a well-recognized intervention in the management of individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) that is designed to improve patients’ physical and psychosocial conditions. The primary aim of the study was to determine the effect of PR on ultrasonography (USG) assessment of diaphragmatic excursion. Materials and Methods: The current study is a prospective, interventional study in COPD (Group D) patients. All subjects underwent 8 weeks of supervised PR. The baseline assessment with USG diaphragmatic excursion, quadriceps femoris (QF) thickness, biceps brachii (BB) thickness, mid-thigh circumference, mid-arm circumference, modified Medical Research Council score, 6-min walk distance, COPD assessment test score, and after 8 weeks of supervised rehabilitation same parameters observed. Results: About 25.71% of the study population was in the age group range of 45–55 years, 51.43% between 56 and 65 years and 22.86% within 66–75 years of the age group. Out of 35 patients, 15 (42.86%) were females and the rest 20 (57.14%) were males. A significant increase was found in the diaphragmatic excursion (cm) from (P < 0.0001), mid-arm circumference (cm) (P < 0.0001), BB thickness (cm) (P < 0.0001) (upper limb strength and endurance training), and mid-thigh circumference (cm) (P < 0.0001) along with QF thickness (cm) (P < 0.0001) (lower limb strength and endurance training). Conclusion: An 8-week physical and PR program in COPD patients can lead to an improved USG diaphragmatic excursion.

Background: Stroke is a serious health condition that can cause physical and cognitive impairment, affecting a person's ability to perform daily activities. Important factor that affect the quality of life of stroke patients is the ability to mobilize, especially walking. Virtual Reality is expected to increase walking speed and dynamic balance which are important to improve patient mobility and independence.Aim(s): Analyze the effect of Virtual Reality (VR) game training using Xbox 360° and KinectTMdevices on post-stroke walking speed and balanceMaterial and methods: An experimental study involving 18 ischemic post-stroke patients at the Rehabilitation Installation of Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital Manado (from June to July 2023). The intervention was a 30 minutes VR game exercises with three sessions per week (a total of 8 sessions for each subject). Introduction: Globally, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the third most common cause of mortality. More than 80% of these fatalities happened in low- and middleincome nations. Transient desaturation during sleep occurs in healthy persons during Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep. This phenomenon is aggravated in COPD patients. As Nocturnal Desaturation (NOD) in COPD has been suggested to increase mortality, its early identification will aid in early initiation of treatment and prevention of associated complications. Aim: To estimate the prevalence of nocturnal hypoxemia in COPD and determine its association with COPD severity. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out at the Department of General Medicine, Apollo Hospitals, Guwahati, Assam, India during January to December 2021 involving 100 patients who had COPD symptoms. Continuous oxygen saturation monitoring with transcutaneous finger probe was done for the entire duration of sleep at night. Patients whose oxygen saturation falls below 90% for at least 30% of recording time in sleep were classified as desaturators. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 26.0 was used for data analysis. Using the Chi-square test, the relationship between the qualitative variables was evaluated. The Mann-Whitney test or the unpaired t-test was used to analyse the quantitative data between the two groups. A p-value of less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results: Prevalence of NOD among cases of COPD was observed as 26% in present study. The six-minute walk test (6MWT) can assess walking function but is time-consuming. We investigate the correlation of performance over the first two minutes of the 6MWT (2MWT#) and the 6MWT. We also evaluate the 2MWT#'s ability to predict 6MWT results, assess correlations to secondary explanatory outcomes, and assess the ability to discriminate between clinical subgroups. A cross-sectional study of 124 participants with LBP. Correlations between the 2MWT# and 6MWT and secondary outcomes were evaluated using the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. The predictive ability of the 2MWT# was defined as the residual distance between the observed 6MWT and three times the 2MWT#. Differences between clinical subgroups were evaluated using the Wilcoxon rank test. The 2MWT# and 6MWT correlated highly (r = 83, 95% CI 0.76 − 0.87). The 2MWT# overestimated 6MWT results with 46.8 meters (SD 67.0). Both tests correlated with secondary outcomes and discriminated similarly between clinical subgroups. The 2MWT# correlates highly with 6MWT but overestimates the observed 6MWT by 9%. Because it is shorter, possibly less burdensome, and with little or no loss of discriminatory ability, we consider it a legitimate alternative to the 6MWT in patients with LBP. Walking function is often affected in patients with low back pain (LBP). The six-minute walk test (6MWT) is frequently used to assess walking function but is time-consuming. A shorter two-minute walk test is a legitimate alternative in patients with LBP as it correlates highly with the 6MWT and has little or no loss of discriminatory ability between clinical subgroups. Summary: Background: The 6‑minute walk test (6MWT) is a commonly used to evaluate exercise capacity in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc), but there was no study using the incremental shuttle walking test (ISWT) for assessing exercise capacity and comparing the patient's cardiorespiratory responses to these tests. The aim was to investigate the usability and determinants of the ISWT in patients with SSc and compare the physiological responses after the ISWT and 6MWT. Methods: A total of thirty four female patients with SSc were included. Dyspnea during daily activities and knee extensor muscle strength was assessed, skin fibrosis and disease severity were recorded, and 6MWT and ISWT were carried out for the exercise capacity measurement. Pulmonary function test results were recorded from the individuals' medical records for SSc with interstitial lung disease (SSc-ILD) patients. Results: The ISWT distance was significantly correlated with the 6MWT distance (p < 0.001). The 6MWT was correlated with age, modified Rodnan skin score, Medsger severity score, modified British Medical Research Council Questionnaire (mMRC) score, and knee extensor muscle strength (p < 0.05). The 6MWT was correlated with the forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) (lt) and forced vital capacity (FVC) (lt) in patients with SSc-ILD (p < 0.05). The ISWT distance was correlated with age, modified Rodnan skin score, mMRC score, and knee extensor muscle strength (p < 0.05). Age, mMRC, and knee extensor muscle strength explained 33.8% of the variance in 6MWT distance, while age, mMRC, and knee extensor muscle strength explained 51.7% of the variance in the ISWT distance. Conclusion: Because of the higher cardiopulmonary responses, and having a more standardized procedure, the ISWT may be preferable for investigating symptom-limited exercise capacity in patients with SSc. Abnormal glucose tolerance (AGT) in cystic fibrosis (CF) affects lung function and clinical parameters, including aerobic fitness. However, its effects on physical activity level (PAL), anaerobic power (AP), and muscle strength (MS) in children and adolescents are unknown. To investigate aerobic fitness, PAL, AP, and MS in pediatric patients with mild-to-moderate CF and AGT. The study included children and adolescents with CF aged 10–18 years. Participants underwent a pulmonary function test, quadriceps, and handgrip MS measurement, vertical jump test to assess AP, and six-minute walk test (6MWT) to assess aerobic fitness. Bouchard's Three-Day Physical Activity record was used to determine PAL. Height z-score (p =.006), 6MWT (p =.024), handgrip (p =.028), quadriceps MS (p =.044), and AP (p =.036) were significantly lower in AGT (n = 21) than normal glucose tolerance (NGT) (n = 19). In the AGT group, glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) was significantly associated with forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) (p =.046). 6MWT distance (6MWD) was associated with height (p =.008), FEV1 (p =.001), forced vital capacity (FVC) (p =.001), forced expiratory flow from 25% to 75% (FEF25-75%) (p =.030), handgrip MS (p =.012), and PAL (p =.034). After adjusting for height and FEV1, the groups had similar 6MWD, MS, and AP (p >.05); also, insulin was associated with MS and AP but not with 6MWT or quadriceps MS. Measures of aerobic fitness, MS, and AP are lower in AGT, but after adjusting for height and FEV1, aerobic fitness, MS, and AP do not show substantial differences. BACKGROUND: Physical activity is pivotal in managing heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, and walking integrated into daily life is an especially suitable form of physical activity. This study aimed to determine whether a 6-month lifestyle walking intervention combining self-monitoring and regular telephone counseling improves functional capacity assessed by the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) in patients with stable heart failure with reduced ejection fraction compared with usual care. METHODS: The WATCHFUL trial (Pedometer-Based Walking Intervention in Patients With Chronic Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction) was a 6-month multicenter, parallel-group randomized controlled trial recruiting patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction from 6 cardiovascular centers in the Czech Republic. Eligible participants were ≥18 years of age, had left ventricular ejection fraction <40%, and had New York Heart Association class II or III symptoms on guidelines-recommended medication. Individuals exceeding 450 meters on the baseline 6MWT were excluded. Patients in the intervention group were equipped with a Garmin vívofit activity tracker and received monthly telephone counseling from research nurses who encouraged them to use behavior change techniques such as self-monitoring, goal-setting, and action planning to increase their daily step count. The patients in the control group continued usual care. The primary outcome was the between-group difference in the distance walked during the 6MWT at 6 months. Secondary outcomes included daily step count and minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity as measured by the hip-worn Actigraph wGT3X-BT accelerometer, NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein biomarkers, ejection fraction, anthropometric measures, depression score, self-efficacy, quality of life, and survival risk score. The primary analysis was conducted by intention to treat. RESULTS: Of 218 screened patients, 202 were randomized (mean age, 65 years; 22.8% female; 90.6% New York Heart Association class II; median left ventricular ejection fraction, 32.5%; median 6MWT, 385 meters; average 5071 steps/day; average 10.9 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day). At 6 months, no between-group differences were detected in the 6MWT (mean 7.4 meters [95% CI, -8.0 to 22.7]; P=0.345, n=186). The intervention group increased their average daily step count by 1420 (95% CI, 749 to 2091) and daily minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity by 8.2 (95% CI, 3.0 to 13.3) over the control group. No between-group differences were detected for any other secondary outcomes.CONCLUSIONS: Whereas the lifestyle intervention in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction improved daily steps by about 25%, it failed to demonstrate a corresponding improvement in functional capacity. Background. The mechanisms of neurovegetative interaction of the functional reactivity of the oxygen transport system (OTS) and genetically determined typological properties of the central nervous system (CNS) were studied. Material and methods. The typological properties of the central nervous system of elite football players (32 individuals) were determined on the "Diagnost-1" neurodynamic complex. The reactivity of the OTS was investigated in a step-increasing running speed test using the Jaeger Oxycon Mobile gas analyzer. Results. The dependence of the reactive properties of the OTS on the genetically determined functional mobility of nervous processes (FMNP) was established. Statistically significant higher indicators of blood stroke volume, carbon dioxide release rate (VCO2) and blood lactate (HLa) were found in the athletes with a higher level of FMNP than in individuals with a low degree of typological property (p=0.033-0.045). The athletes with low FRNP were characterized by statistically significant high values of heart rate (HR) and rate of oxygen uptake (VO2 max). The indicators of minute volumes of blood and respiration did not show statistically significant differences in groups of sportsmen with different gradations of FMNP (p=0.064-0.078). Conclusions. The theoretical model and mechanisms of interaction of the individual-typological property of FMNP with the functional reactivity of OTS and the possibility of using the results to evaluate the playing activity of football players were discussed. NOD episodes were observed to be positively associated with increasing severity of COPD. Objectives: The Six Minute Walk Test (6MWT) assesses functional capacity. We determined the reference range distance walked, heart rate change, and breathlessness in healthy women. Design: Prospective observational study. Methods: 100 nulliparous women aged 18–40 performed two 6MWTs, with the second performed after heart rate returned to baseline. Borg scales compared expected and true breathlessness. Results: Reference range was 472–758 ​m, with distance mean (SD) of 615 (73.0) metres. Heart rate increase during exercise was 11 (11.8) beats per minute, recovering to baseline in 4.5 (3.9) minutes. 63 ​% of women overestimated breathlessness. Conclusions: These data represent reference values for functional evaluation of healthy young women.

Objective: There is evidence that indicates that the Walked Distance (WD) in the 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) would be sensitive to the type of track and encouragement. The aim of study was compared the impact of track type and verbal encouragement provided in the 6MWT on WD, physiological cost, perceived exertion, and gait efficiency in healthy young adults unfamiliar with the test.Method: WD, heart rate, subjective sensation of dyspnea (SSD), and fatigue (SSF) were measured in four 6MWT protocols: i) 30 m linear track and protocolized encouragement (LT + PE), ii) 30 m linear track and constant encouragement (LT + CE), iii) 81 m elliptical track and protocolized encouragement (ET + PE), and iv) 81 m elliptical track and constant encouragement (ET + CE). In addition, the Gait Efficiency Index (GIE) associated with physiological cost, dyspnea and fatigue was calculated and compared between the different protocols.Results: The WD was significantly higher in the ET + CE protocol. The percentage of the heart rate reserve used (%HRRu) at minute 6 was higher in the ET + CE protocol. The SSD and SSD had difference in startup time between the protocols. The GEI was higher in %HRRu, SSD, and SSF for the ET + CE protocol.Conclusion: The ET + CE protocol showed a significant increase in WD during the 6MWT in healthy young adults. Although it obtained the highest physiological cost, it did not present perceptual differences when entering cardiopulmonary assessment windows relevant to a more efficient test for the participant. It is advisable to discuss, based on the findings, the fundamental objective of the 6MWT and national and international recommendations to achieve a result as close as possible to the real maximal effort.

ABSTRACT Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a disabling inflammatory disease that makes walking and activities of daily living difficult. This condition can reduce functional capacity and increase the risk for surgery. Objective: To know the functional capacity of patients with KOA evaluated by the six-minute walk test (6MWT). Method: This cross-sectional study evaluated age, gender, weight, BMI, pain (VAS 90-100), physical disability (WOMAC 0-96), degree of joint damage by radiographic imaging, and 6MWT. Results: A total of 176 patients referred by Orthopedics were evaluated, with the inclusion of 164 participants. The mean age was 61.89 ± 10.62 years, 81% women, 67% with cardiovascular disease, hypertension and/or diabetes, 81% obese, with moderate pain (VAS 47.74 ± 29.27) and according to WOMAC, most had severe or very severe disability. The distance covered in the 6MWT was 354.03 ± 102.03m, 67% of the predicted distance. The maximum heart rate achieved was 107.27 ± 17.71 bpm, which characterizes 68% of the predicted by age. Only 12% of the sample showed a marked drop in oxygenation in the 6MWT and 40% had a recovery heart rate in the 1st minute below 15 bpm. Conclusion: Patients with KOA, who were evaluated by the 6MWT, have low functional capacity and physical deconditioning. Level of Clinical Evidence III, Case Control Study.

Current literature yields unequivocal results regarding the effect of body composition on physical function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and disproportionately includes a majority of males. The purpose of this study was to determine whether specific body composition measures are significantly associated with physical function and exercise capacity in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with equal representation of males and females. Independent variables included sex, total body mass, total body lean and fat mass, appendicular total mass, and appendicular lean and fat mass. Dependent variables included peak oxygen consumption, 6-minute walk distance and self-reported physical function. Patients (n = 170) with dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry data, 6-minute walk distance, and self-reported physical function were used for these analyses. A sub-set of 145 of these patients with peak oxygen consumption data were also analysed. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was used to determine if sex and body composition measures correlated with physical function and exercise capacity and if they explained additional variance after controlling for disease severity. We use the Two-Minute Walk Test (2MWT) to assess walking performance, comparing overground and treadmill versions for correlation and interchangeability.A randomised cross-over study of 40 participants with LBP randomly completed the 2MWT in a hallway and on a treadmill. The correlation was analysed by the Spearman Rho correlation coefficient (r), the agreement by the Bland-Altman method, differences between the testing orders by a paired sample t-test, and the association by a univariate regression.A high correlation was found between the methods (r = 0.76, p < 0.01). The difference between the methods was 45.4 metres (95% CI 33.4: 57.4, p < 0.01) or 29%, with an insignificant 6.8 metres (95% CI −17.4: 31.0, p = 0.57) between the testing orders. Notably, the distance walked in the hallway served as a strong predictor, explaining a substantial portion of the variation observed in the distance covered on the treadmill (R2 = 0.61, p < 0.01).Performance of the 2MWT overground and on a treadmill correlate highly in people with LBP. However, because participants walked 29% further in the hallway, treadmill walking is likely not an interchangeable alternative to testing when the aim is to evaluate performance. BACKGROUND: Although measures of exercise performance and physical activity are known to be related to 6-minute walk test (6mWT), the role of the strength of each muscle group of the lower limb in the locomotor capacity during the development period is unknown. OBJECTIVE: To identify the role of the isometric strength of lower limb muscles and cardiovascular parameters on the locomotor capacity in children and adolescents, controlling for participants sex, age, and height. METHODS: Participants (7 to 15 years old; female, n = 113; male, n = 128) were assessed for isometric strength (seven lower limb muscles), cardiovascular parameters (diastolic pressure, oxygen saturation, resting heart rate, respiratory rate), and 6mWT. Participants were split into nine age groups and separated by 1-year intervals. RESULTS: Hip flexors-controlled for sex, age, and height-explained a meaningful percentage of the variance (R = 2 0.45; p < 0.001) for 6mWT distance, and the resting heart rate explained a change in R 2 of only 2% (p = 0.008). CONCLUSIONS: Isometric strength of hip flexors explained ∼ 50% of the 6mWT distance, suggesting the importance of strength from an early age. BACKGROUND: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction is associated with significant functional limitations, yet treatments for improving exercise performance have been elusive. We sought to explore the association between prespecified patient characteristics and changes in 6-minute walk distance that constitute a clinically significant response to dapagliflozin. METHODS: We performed a responder analysis to understand patient characteristics associated with clinically meaningful improvement in 6-minute walk test (6MWT) distance ≥15 m among patients randomized to 12 weeks of dapagliflozin versus placebo in the double-blind PRESERVED-HF trial (Effects of Dapagliflozin on Biomarkers, Symptoms and Functional Status in Patients With Preserved Ejection Fraction Heart Failure). RESULTS: A total of 289 randomized patients had 6MWT distance completed at baseline and 12 weeks. Patients randomized to dapagliflozin improved walking distance by ≥15 m more frequently than those on placebo (n=64, 44% versus n=48, 34%). After adjusting for baseline covariates, patients randomized to dapagliflozin were more likely to experience a clinically meaningful improvement in 6MWT distance compared with those that received placebo (adjusted odds ratio, 1.66 [95% CI, 1.00–2.75]; P=0.05). Dapagliflozin-treated patients were also less likely to have a ≥15 m reduction in 6MWT distance compared with placebo-treated patients (adjusted odds ratio, 0.56 [95% CI, 0.33–0.94]; P=0.03). These results were consistent across all prespecified subgroups (all P values for interaction were not significant). CONCLUSIONS: Compared with those on placebo, patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction randomized to dapagliflozin were more likely to experience a clinically meaningful improvement and less likely to experience a deterioration in physical function over 12 weeks as measured by 6MWT distance. Objective: One of the common limitations after COVID-19 pneumonia is the decrease in exercise capacity. The identification of the factors affecting exercise capacity and the assessment of patients at risk are important for determining treatment strategy. This study was conducted to determine the predictors of decreased exercise capacity in long post-COVID-19 patients. Methods: We investigated the association of exercise capacity as measured by the incremental shuttle walk test (ISWT) with age, sex, spirometric variables, respiratory and peripheral muscle strength, quality of life, fatigue, hospital anxiety depression scale, chest X-ray involvement, and hospitalization. The patients were divided into three groups: outpatients, inpatients, and ICU patients. Regression analysis was used to determine which parameters were significant predictors of exercise capacity. Results: Of the 181 patients included in the study, 56 (31%) were female. The mean ISWT in percentage of predicted values (ISWT%pred) was 43.20% in the whole sample, whereas that was 52.89%, 43.71%, and 32.21% in the outpatient, inpatient, and ICU patient groups, respectively. Linear regression analysis showed that predictors of decreased ISWT%pred were sex (β = 8.089; p = 0.002), mMRC scale score (β = -7.004; p ≤ 0.001), FVC%pred (β = 0.151; p = 0.003), and handgrip strength (β = 0.261; p = 0.030). Conclusions: In long post-COVID-19 patients, sex, perception of dyspnea, restrictive pattern in respiratory function, and decrease in peripheral muscle strength are predictors of reduced exercise capacity that persists three months after COVID-19. Objectives: To investigate the effect of exercise intensity on functional capacity in individuals with coronary artery disease, assess adherence to the heart rate training zone (HRTZ), and relationship between trained intensity and functional capacity. Methods: Retrospective study led with medical records of 54 outpatients with coronary artery disease in a public hospital. The prescribed intensity started at 50 - 60% of heart rate reserve, increasing monthly to 70 - 80% by the third month. Spearman's test was used to assess the correlation between improvement in distance in the incremental shuttle walk test (ISWT), exercise intensity, and rating of perceived exertion (Borg-RPE). Adherence was classified as 'below' when HRTZ was not achieved in any phase of the program, 'intermediate' when HR was within the HRTZ for one or two months, and 'above' when HR was at or higher than HRTZ ≥ two months. Improvement was tested with t-test and one-way ANOVA. Results: 51.9% of participants had an increase in ISWT of ≥70 m (p < 0.0001). In at least one month, 50.9% trained below HRTZ. Trained intensity did not go below 8.6% of the prescribed minimal threshold of HRTZ. Changes in ISWT were not significantly correlated with exercise intensity (p = 0.87) or Borg-RPE (p = 0.16). Conclusion: While a significant increase in functional capacity was found, considerable heterogeneity in changes were observed. Given the considerable number of people with persistent respiratory symptoms more than 4 weeks after COVID-19, it is important to determine which examinations are most informative for assessing respiratory function, prognosis, and monitoring the effectiveness of treatment in such patients. The purpose of this study is to cover the functional diagnosis of the respiratory system in patients who survived Long COVID. Bibliosemantic and analytical research methods were applied. According to the world guidelines for patients with persistent respiratory symptoms after COVID-19, all of them should undergo respiratory system examinations: chest X-rays, spirometry, blood saturation measurements, lung diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide, walk tests, and others. The study confirmed that people who have had COVID-19, even after 1-6 months, show a decrease in diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide, which has a direct correlation with total lung capacity, the severity of clinical manifestations, and the results of rapid tests. Changes in spirometric parameters are observed much less frequently, mainly in patients hospitalised with severe pneumonia, which subsequently leads to post-cystic pulmonary fibrosis. Gradual improvement in functional respiratory tests occurs 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months after acute infection. The most informative tests for assessing respiratory function include the measurement of carbon monoxide diffusion capacity, total lung capacity, and blood gas composition. In conditions of limited access to the aforementioned diagnostic tests, and as a screening tool, quick tests such as the 3-minute/6-minute walk test (3MWT/6MWT) or the 1-minute sit-to-stand test (1-MSTST) can be utilised based on the patient's capabilities

BackgroundPost-COVID-19 syndrome (PCS) has been increasingly recognized as an emerging problem: 50% of patients report ongoing symptoms 1 year after acute infection, with most typical manifestations (fatigue, dyspnea, psychiatric and neurological symptoms) having potentially debilitating effect. Early identification of high-risk candidates for PCS development would facilitate the optimal use of resources directed to rehabilitation of COVID-19 convalescents.ObjectiveTo study the in-hospital clinical characteristics of COVID-19 survivors presenting with self-reported PCS at 3 months and to identify the early predictors of its development.Methods221 hospitalized COVID-19 patients underwent symptoms assessment, 6-min walk test, and echocardiography pre-discharge and at 1 month; presence of PCS was assessed 3 months after discharge. Unsupervised machine learning was used to build a SANN-based binary classification model of PCS development.ResultsPCS at 3 months has been detected in 75% patients. Higher symptoms level in the PCS group was not associated with worse physical functional recovery or significant echocardiographic changes. Despite identification of a set of pre-discharge predictors, inclusion of parameters obtained at 1 month proved necessary to obtain a high accuracy model of PCS development, with inputs list including age, sex, in-hospital levels of CRP, eGFR and need for oxygen supplementation, and level of post-exertional symptoms at 1 month after discharge (fatigue and dyspnea in 6MWT and MRC Dyspnea score).ConclusionHospitalized COVID-19 survivors at 3 months were characterized by 75% prevalence of PCS, the development of which could be predicted with an 89% accuracy using the derived neural network-based classification model.

To estimate referent values for performance on clinical mobility tests conducted amongst racially diverse adults aged 50-95 years in the Southeast US. This is an observational study of community-dwelling older adults from diverse racial groups who participated in observational and rehabilitative studies conducted from 2011-2019. Rehabilitation clinics around the greater metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, region. A total of 314 adults (N=314; 222 women). Individuals were predominantly Black (n=121) or White (n=164), with some participants from other racial groups (n=29). Clinical and demographic data were collected at individual visits for each participant. Four Square Step Test (FSST), timed Up and Go (TUG) test, dual TUG test, 6-minute walk test (6MWT), 30-second chair stand, and gait speed were all used as assessments in each cohort. Performance slowly declines with increasing age, with a sharp drop in the ninth decade for preferred forward, backward, and fast gait speed; backward gait cadence; 6MWT, TUG test, dual-task TUG-Cognitive, and the 360° turn test. Declines were also seen in the eighth and ninth decades in the FSST. Among White participants, there were significant overall differences across age groups except in the assessment variable, preferred gait cadence. For Black individuals, there were significant overall differences across age groups for backward gait speed, fast gait speed, TUG-Cognitive, dual task, 6MWT, FSST, and 30-second chair stand. These data enrich current referent values for brief, commonly used clinical tests in a diverse, older Southeast US cohort. These data include representatives of the oldest old cohort. Purpose: The 6 min walk test (6MWT) is used in clinical and epidemiological practice as a simple tool to evaluate the maximal aerobic exercise capacity (VO2max). To date, little evidence has been provided regarding regression equation models to predict VO2max in older adults. Therefore, the main purpose of the study was to develop a reference equation to estimate objectively measured VO2max, based on the 6MWT, sex, age and body mass index (BMI). Patients and Methods: In this observational prospective study, we collected the data from 233 asymptomatic participants aged 60–80 years (52.4% women). VO2max and the 6MWT were measured using standardized protocols. BMI was calculated as weight (kg) divided by height squared (m2). To be able to develop the predictive equation for VO2max, we used linear generalized estimating equations (GEE). Results: Older men performed better in VO2max (30.9 ± 8.8 vs. 26.3 ± 6.3 mL/kg/min, p < 0.001) and the 6MWT (673.9 ± 58.7 vs. 642.3 ± 48.0 m, p < 0.001), compared to women. VO2max was correlated with the 6MWT (r = 0.71, p < 0.001), sex (r = −0.29, p < 0.001), age (r = −0.62, p < 0.001) and BMI (r = −0.38, p < 0.001). The model to predict VO2max included: VO2max (mL/kg/min) = 59.44 − 3.83 *, sex (1—men; 2—women) − 0.56 *, age (years) − 0.48 *, BMI (kg/m2) + 0.04 *, and the 6MWT (m) (R = 0.85; R2 = 72.3%, SEE = 3.99 mL/kg/min, p < 0.001). There is a gap in knowledge about functional capacity and quality of life in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) after hospital discharge and the contribution of inspiratory muscle training (IMT). To evaluate the influence of IMT on functional capacity and quality of life after hospital discharge of patients undergoing CABG. Clinical trial. ABSTRACT This cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the autonomic response of older women in the six-minute walk test. In total, 32 women aged 60 years or older without a diagnosed health problem were evaluated during the six-minute walk test. To monitor the autonomic response, the following variables were considered: heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, respiratory rate, and perceived exertion. These variables were compared during rest, effort, and recovery. This study also sought a correlation between autonomic function variables and performance in the test and perceived exertion. Results showed that the effort made by older women in the six-minute walk test induces an autonomic response resulting in increased heart rate and systolic and diastolic blood pressure; however, the respiratory rate remained unchanged during the test. Diastolic blood pressure remained high during recovery. No correlation was found neither between perceived exertion and cardiovascular physiological response nor between distance covered and variation of the autonomic response or level of physical conditioning. BackgroundLong COVID syndrome has emerged as a new global healthcare challenge, with impaired physical performance being a prominent debilitating factor. Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is a mainstay of management of symptomatic post-COVID patients, and optimization of candidate selection might allow for more effective use of available resources.MethodsIn order to study the natural dynamics and to identify predictors of physical functional recovery following hospitalization for COVID-19, 6 min walk test was performed pre-discharge in 176 patients (40% hypertensive, 53% female, mean age 53.2 ± 13.5 years) with re-evaluation at 1 month.ResultsSix min walk distance and the reached percent of predicted distance (6MWD%) were suboptimal at both visits—396 ± 71 m (68.7 ± 12.4%) pre-discharge and 466 ± 65 m (81.8 ± 13.6%) at 1 month. Introduction: Activities of Daily Living (ADL) in children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) include a variety of environmental settings. Environmental setting plays an important role in clinical assessment and therapeutic intervention to improve the mobility in children with CP. There are various environmental factors like movable surfaces, stairs, carpeting, physical obstacles, which facilitate or constrain the mobility of children with CP. Aim: To study the differences in motor function and gait speed at different environmental settings and find out the usual mobility methods of children with CP in home, school and community settings. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in the Outpatient Department (OPD) of Paediatrics at Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital, Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, India. The duration of the study was seven months, from February 2022 to August 2022. A total of 50 CP children aged between 4-12 years were included and demographic details were collected. Type of CP, gross motor function, gait speed and methods of mobility were evaluated at home, community and school in all the children with CP. Gross Motor Function Measurement (GMFM 88-E), One-Minute Walk Test (1MWT) and parent checklist for mobility methods were used as outcome measures to collect the data and analysed with Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Friedman test. Results: The mean age of the study population was 8.34±1.62 years, which included 29 (58%) male children and 21 (42%) female children. Gross motor function and gait speed varied across the environment and statistically significant differences (p-value=<0.001) were observed in the home, community and school. Results related to methods of mobility showed that, most of the children, 38 (76%) walk alone in the home and are carried by adults in the community 30 (60%) and use all mobility methods in school. Conclusion: The present study concluded that, the gross motor function, gait speed and methods of mobility varied across the different environmental settings (home, community and school). In healthy older adults, the two-minute step test (2MST) does not have its concurrent validity tested against the six-minute walk test (6MWT), which is a valid cardiorespiratory fitness test frequently applied in geriatric samples. To derive an equation to predict 6MWT from 2MST and to observe the agreement between observed and estimated 6MWT distances. 6MWT and 2MST were measured in 51 older adults (72.9±4.6 years) from community multicomponent exercise programs. Multiple linear regression derives the predictive equation of 6MWT walked distance (dependent outcome) from steps obtained in 2MST, age, sex, and body mass index (independent outcomes). Correlation between 6MWT and 2MST was strong (r=0.696, p<0.001). The regression equation showed good agreement with measured values, when 6MWT was below 600 m. Rationale: The 6-minute-walk distance (6MWD) is an important clinical and research metric in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH); however, there is no consensus about what minimal change in 6MWD is clinically significant. Objectives: We aimed to determine the minimal clinically important difference in the 6MWD. Methods: We performed a meta-analysis using individual participant data from eight randomized clinical trials of therapy for PAH submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to derive minimal clinically important differences in the 6MWD. The estimates were externally validated using the Pulmonary Hypertension Association Registry. We anchored the change in 6MWD to the change in the Medical Outcomes Survey Short Form physical component score. Measurements and Main Results: The derivation (clinical trial) and validation (Pulmonary Hypertension Association Registry) samples were comprised of 2,404 and 537 adult patients with PAH, respectively. The mean6standard deviation age of the derivation sample was 50.5615.2 years, and 1,849 (77%) were female, similar to the validation sample. The minimal clinically important difference in the derivation sample was 33 meters (95% confidence interval, 27-38), which was almost identical to that in the validation sample (36 m [95% confidence interval, 29-43]). The minimal clinically important difference did not differ by age, sex, race, pulmonary hypertension etiology, body mass index, use of background therapy, or World Health Organization functional class. Conclusions: We estimated a 6MWD minimal clinically important difference of approximately 33 meters for adults with PAH. Background: Both chronic bronchitis and emphysema are part of COPD. Having a productive cough at least three times a week for more than two years is diagnostic of chronic bronchitis. Methods: Outpatients and inpatients at the Department of Pulmonology, Shadan Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, Telangana, India, were the subjects of a prospective research conducted between June 2021 to May 2022. The research involves sixty participants. Results: However, a diagnosis of COPD requires the use of spirometry. The effects of COPD on one's health and quality of life can be measured using a CAT score. Even in a rural situation where most COPD patients do not have access to spirometry, both the 6MWT and the CAT score may be employed. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the 6-minute walk test can replace the FEV1 as a means of measuring COPD severity. To determine the optimal cut-off score for the Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) corresponding to unfavorable outcomes for mobility and walking ability. The level of plantar flexor muscle spasticity and the 10-meter walking test (10mWT), timed up and go (TUG), and five time sit-to-stand (FTSTS) outcomes were evaluated in individuals after stroke. The correlation between MAS and the tests was investigated, and the optimal cut-off score, sensitivity, and specificity were evaluated through receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Twenty-one participants with chronic stroke and plantar flexors spasticity (11 men; 10 women; mean age = 57.6 ± 12.5 years) participated in the study. Significant correlations between MAS and 10mWT (r= −0.45; p < 0.05), MAS and TUG (r = 0.48; p < 0.05) were found. The optimal cut-off scores were MAS > 2 for unfavorable 10mWT (sensitivity = 100%; specificity = 54.5%; ROC = 0.782) and MAS ≤ 2 for favorable TUG outcomes (sensitivity = 55.5%; specificity = 91.6%; ROC = 0.782). This study revealed that moderate level of plantar flexors spasticity results in the highest sensitivity to predict poor gait speed performance and the highest specificity to predict good mobility performance in individuals after stroke. These findings will help clinicians in their evidence-based decision making on the role of spasticity for mobility and walking ability. Moderate level of spasticity (MAS <2) is the optimal cut-off score for 10mWT and TUG tests. Reducing the level of spasticity of plantar flexors below this cut-off point might be associated with an increased walking speed in this population. Current literature yields unequivocal results regarding the effect of body composition on physical function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and disproportionately includes a majority of males. The purpose of this study was to determine whether specific body composition measures are significantly associated with physical function and exercise capacity in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with equal representation of males and females. Independent variables included sex, total body mass, total body lean and fat mass, appendicular total mass, and appendicular lean and fat mass. Dependent variables included peak oxygen consumption, 6-minute walk distance and self-reported physical function. Patients (n = 170) with dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry data, 6-minute walk distance, and self-reported physical function were used for these analyses. A sub-set of 145 of these patients with peak oxygen consumption data were also analysed. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was used to determine if sex and body composition measures correlated with physical function and exercise capacity and if they explained additional variance after controlling for disease severity. After controlling for disease severity, appendicular lean mass, total body fat mass, and sex explained an additional 16.5% of the variance in peak oxygen consumption (p < 0.001). Appendicular lean mass explained an additional 8.9% of the variance in 6-minute walk distance (p < 0.001) and an additional 2.5% of the variance in self-reported physical function (p = 0.057). Body composition measures may further predict exercise capacity, 6-minute walk distance, and self-reported physical function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. OBJECTIVE: New-onset or persistent symptoms beyond after 4 weeks from COVID-19 are termed "long-COVID." Whether the initial severity of COVID-19 has a bearing on the clinicoradiological manifestations of long COVID is an area of interest. MATERIAL AND METHODS: We did an observational analysis of the long-COVID patients after categorizing them based on their course of COVID-19 illness into mild, moderate, and severe groups. The clinical and radiological profile was compared across these groups. RESULTS: Out of 150 long-COVID patients recruited in the study, about 79% (118), 14% (22), and 7% (10) had a history of mild, moderate, and severe COVID-19, respectively. Fatigue (P = .001), breathlessness (P = .001), tachycardia (P = .002), tachypnea (P < .001), raised blood pressure (P < .001), crepitations (P = .04), hypoxia at rest (P < .001), significant desaturation in 6-minute walk test (P = .27), type 1 respiratory failure (P = .001), and type 2 respiratory failure (P = .001) were found to be significantly higher in the long-COVID patients with a history of severe COVID-19. These patients also had the highest prevalence of abnormal chest X-ray (60%) and honeycombing in computed tomography scan thorax (25%, P = .027). CONCLUSION: The course of long COVID bears a relationship with initial COVID-19 severity. Patients with severe COVID-19 are prone to develop more serious long-COVID manifestations. Background: Physical and mental abilities generally diminish with the natural process of aging. Exercise on a regular basis is essential for everyone. Adequate physical exercise in older adults is associated with a better life. Improvements in both physical and mental health are linked to laughter therapy. The aim of the current study was to examine the unrecognized combined effects of aerobic exercise and laughter therapy on functional, cognitive, and psychological well-being in the elderly. Patients and methods: A total of 60 elderly individuals were divided into two groups; the experimental group (n=30), which received aerobic exercise with laughter therapy, and the control group (n=30), which received the identical experimental group's aerobic exercise program only, 3 times a week over 6 weeks. Body mass index, blood pressure, functional capacity (assessed by the 6-minute walk test distance), functional activity level (evaluated by the Functional Independence Measure), cognitive function (determined by the Mini-Mental State Examination), and psychological status (estimated by the Geriatric Depression Scale) were all assessed at baseline and after 6 weeks. All participants completed the study, and the outcome measure data were analyzed. Results: By comparing the experimental group to the control group, all measured variables revealed a significant change in both groups (p<0.001) but in favor of the experimental group rather than the control. Conclusions: The elderly may benefit physiologically and mentally from laughter therapy combined with exercise. Objective: To establish an initial assessment of the decline with age for the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Chinese older adults. Design: It was an observational analytical study. Setting: The study was conducted in a local acute hospital. Participants: From January 2017 to January 2021, a total of 525 patients (431 men, 94 women; mean age 73.4±7.9; N=525) with COPD were studied. Main Outcome Measures: Information including sex, age, Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) stages, and 6-minute walk distance (6MWD) were collected. Results: The 6MWD was significantly decreased with increased age (P˂0.05). Mean 6MWD in the 61-65 years, 66-70 years, 71-75 years, 76-80 years, 81-85 years, and 86 years or above age groups were 301 m, 305 m, 274 m, 257 m, 260 m, and 215 m, respectively. The difference between the youngest and oldest age groups was 29%. The 6MWD was significantly lower in patients with more severe COPD (P˂0.05). The distance decreased from 317 m in GOLD 1, 306 m in GOLD 2, 259 m in GOLD 3 to 167 m in GOLD 4. The percentage dropped in 6MWD from GOLD 1 to GOLD 4 was 47%. Conclusion: An initial assessment of the decline with age for 6MWT in Chinese older adults with COPD has been established. 6MWD decreases as age (in groups 66-75, 81-85, and 86 or above) and COPD severity increases, primarily because of the increased severity of dyspnea, decline in exercise capacity, and muscle changes in aging. Health care professionals in Chinese community can use these values to evaluate these patients’ functional capacity, assess treatment effect, and set treatment goals.
