Polymer infiltrated nanoporous gold is prepared by infiltrating polymer melts into a bicontinuous, nanoporous gold (NPG) scaffold. Polystyrene (PS) films with molecular weights (Mw) from 424 to 1133 kDa are infiltrated into a NPG scaffold (∼120 nm), with a pore radius (Rp) and pore volume fraction of 37.5 nm and 50%, respectively. The confinement ratios (Γ = R g R p ) range from 0.47 to 0.77, suggesting that the polymers inside the pores are moderately confined. The time for PS to achieve 80% infiltration (τ80%) is determined using in situ spectroscopic ellipsometry at 150 °C. The kinetics of infiltration scales weaker with Mw, τ 80 % ∝ M w 1.30 ± 0.20 , than expected from bulk viscosity M w 3.4 . Furthermore, the effective viscosity of the PS melt inside NPG, inferred from the Lucas–Washburn model, is reduced by more than one order of magnitude compared to the bulk. Molecular dynamics simulation results are in good agreement with experiments predicting scaling as M w 1.4 . The reduced dependence of Mw and the enhanced kinetics of infiltration are attributed to a reduction in chain entanglement density during infiltration and a reduction in polymer–wall friction with increasing polymer molecular weight. Compared to the traditional approach involving adding discrete particles into the polymer matrix, these studies show that nanocomposites with higher loading can be readily prepared, and that kinetics of infiltration are faster due to polymer confinement inside pores. Polyisoprene (PI) melts have been studied, with most reports focusing on systems with high 1,4-cis content. In contrast, 1,4-trans PI homopolymers or random copolymers have seldom been examined, despite a handful of investigations suggesting a distinct dynamic behavior. Herein, we employ all-atom simulations to investigate the effect of chemical architecture on the dynamics of cis and trans-PI homopolymers, as well as copolymers. We examine the thermodynamic, conformational, and structural properties of the polymers and validate the performance of the models. We probe chain dynamics, revealing that cis-PI presents accelerated translation and reorientation modes relative to trans as recorded by the mean square displacement of the chain center-of-mass as well as by the characteristic times of the lower modes in a Rouse analysis. Interestingly, progressing to higher modes, we observe a reversal with trans units exhibiting faster dynamics. This was further confirmed by calculations of local carbon–hydrogen vector reorientation dynamics, which offer a microscopic view of segmental mobility. To obtain insight into the simulation trajectories, we evaluate the intermediate incoherent scattering function that supports a temperature-dependent crossover in relative mobility that extends over separations beyond the Kuhn-length level. Finally, we analyzed the role of non-Gaussian displacements, which demonstrate that cis-PI exhibits increased heterogeneity in dynamics over short-timescales in contrast to trans-PI, where deviations persist over times extending to terminal dynamics. Our all-atom simulations provide a fundamental understanding of PI dynamics and the impact of microstructure while providing important data for the design and optimization of PI-based materials. We used the method of matched asymptotic expansions to examine the behavior of the Giesekus fluid near to the static contact line singularity in extrudate swell. This shear-thinning viscoelastic fluid had a solution structure in which the solvent stresses dominated the polymer stresses near to the singularity. As such, the stress singularity was Newtonian dominated, but required viscoelastic stress boundary layers to fully resolve the solution at both the die wall and free surface. The sizes and mechanism of the boundary layers at the two surfaces were different. We gave a similarity solution for the boundary layer at the die wall and derived the exact solution for the boundary layer at the free-surface. The local behavior for the shape of the free-surface was also derived, which we showed was primarily determined by the solvent stress. However, the angle of separation of the free surface was determined by the the global flow geometry. It was this which determined the stress singularity and then in turn the free-surface shape. By performing coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations, we study the effect of crosslinking and chain uncrossability on the microphase behaviors and mechanical properties of the double-network gels. The double-network systems can be viewed as two separate networks interpenetrating each other uniformly, and the crosslinks in each network are generated, forming a regular cubic lattice. The chain uncrossability is confirmed by appropriately choosing the bonded and nonbonded interaction potentials. Our simulations reveal a close relation between the phase and mechanical properties of the double-network systems and their network topological structures. Depending on the lattice size and the solvent affinity, we have observed two different microphases: one is the aggregation of solvophobic beads around the crosslinking points, which leads to locally polymer-rich domains, and the other is the bunching of polymer strands, which thickens the network edges and thus changes the network periodicity. The former is a representation of the interfacial effect, while the latter is determined by the chain uncrossability. The coalescence of network edges is demonstrated to be responsible for the large relative increase in the shear modulus. Compressing and stretching induced phase transitions are observed in the current double-network systems, and the sharp discontinuous change in the stress that appears at the transition point is found to be related to the bunching or debunching of the network edges. We examined a phase separation process of a dynamically asymmetric blend of unentangled polyisoprene (PI) and poly(4-ethylstyrene) (PC2St) exhibiting the upper critical solution temperature. PI having the type-A dipole was the dielectrically active fast component, whereas PC2St was the dielectrically inert slow component whose dynamics can be detected by rheological measurements. To precisely model the phase separation process, it is important to estimate the composition dependence of the mobility, which is needed to describe the phase separation dynamics. For that purpose, we conducted dielectric and rheological measurements to determine the friction coefficient of each component in a homogeneous state sufficiently above the phase separation temperature. The temperature dependence of the friction coefficient of each component was reasonably expressed by the Williams–Landel–Ferry equation. Extrapolating this dependence obtained for blends of various compositions to the test temperature T* below the phase separation temperature, we were able to estimate the friction coefficient of the chain at T* as a function of the composition. This friction coefficient was then used to determine the mobility Λ defined for the material fluxes at T*. The time-dependent Ginzburg–Landau (TDGL) equation incorporating this Λ well described the experimentally observed phase separation dynamics. In particular, the 2D TDGL simulation with this Λ qualitatively captured the phase-separated structure observed with the optical microscope as well as broad dielectric mode distribution of the blend at T*. We continue the systematic analytical study of the nonlinear Maxwell-type constitutive equation for shear flow of tixotropic viscoelastoplastic media formulated in the previous article. It accounts for interaction of deformation process and structure evolution, namely, the influence of the kinetics of formation and breakage of chain cross-links, agglomerations of molecules, and crystallites on viscosity and shear modulus and deformation influence on the kinetics. The constitutive equation is governed by an increasing material function and six positive parameters. Assuming that the stress is constant (in order to simulate creep conditions), we formulate the set of two nonlinear differential equations for two unknown functions (namely, strain and cross-links density) and obtain its exact general solution in explicit form. We examine the properties of creep curves generated by the model for arbitrary material function and material parameters and analyze dependence of creep curves and cross-links density on time, stress level, initial cross-links density, and material parameters governing the model. Thus, we prove that the model not only describes basic phenomena observed for simple shear flow of shear thinning fluids, but can simulate creep, relaxation, and other phenomena observed for solid bodies. Fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) is a non-invasive characterization method for studying molecular structures and dynamics, providing high spatial resolution at nanometer scale. Over the past decades, FRET-based measurements are developed and widely implemented in synthetic polymer systems for understanding and detecting a variety of nanoscale phenomena, enabling significant advances in polymer science. In this review, the basic principles of fluorescence and FRET are briefly discussed. Several representative research areas are highlighted, where FRET spectroscopy and imaging can be employed to reveal polymer morphology and kinetics. These examples include understanding polymer micelle formation and stability, detecting guest molecule release from polymer host, characterizing supramolecular assembly, imaging composite interfaces, and determining polymer chain conformations and their diffusion kinetics. For polymer chains, the torsional potential is an important intramolecular energy influencing chain flexibility and segmental dynamics. Through molecular dynamics simulations of an atomistic model for melts of cis–trans-1,4-polybutadiene (PBD), we explore the effect of the torsions on conformational properties (bond vector correlations and mean-square internal distances), fundamental thermodynamic quantities (density, compressibility, internal energy, and specific heat), and glass transition temperature Tg. This is achieved by systematically reducing the strength of the torsional potential, starting from the chemically realistic chain (CRC) model with the full potential toward the freely rotating chain (FRC) model without the torsional potential. For the equilibrium liquid, we find that the effect of the torsions on polymer conformations is very weak. Still weaker is the influence on the monomer density ρ and isothermal compressibility κT of the polymer liquid, both of which can be considered as independent of the torsional potential. We show that a van der Waals-like model proposed by Long and Lequeux [Eur. Phys. J. E 4, 371 (2001)] allows us to describe very well the temperature (T) dependence of ρ and κT. We also find that our data obey the linear relation between 1 / k B T ρ κ T and 1/T (with the Boltzmann constant kB) that has recently been predicted and verified on the experiment by Mirigian and Schweizer [J. Chem. Phys. 140, 194507 (2014)]. For the equilibrium liquid, simulations result in a specific heat, at constant pressure and at constant volume, which increases on cooling. This T dependence is opposite to the one found experimentally for many polymer liquids, including PBD. We suggest that this difference between simulation and experiment may be attributed to quantum effects due to hydrogen atoms and backbone vibrations, which, by construction, are not included in the classical united-atom model employed here. Finally, we also determine Tg from the density–temperature curve monitored in a finite-rate cooling process. While the influence of the torsional potential on ρ(T) is vanishingly small in the equilibrium liquid, the effect of the torsions on Tg is large. High molar mass copolymers with a tapered interface are mechanically tough materials with an accessible order-to-disorder transition temperature and hence processability. We report the first ordering kinetics for a tapered tetrablock copolymer in comparison to a conventional diblock copolymer made sequentially. We show that tapered copolymers belong to the Brazovskii "universality class," where fluctuations play a dominant role. Consequently, the order-to-disorder transition has a very weak, fluctuation-induced first-order character. The ordering kinetics of the lamellar phase from the supercooled disordered melt revealed several distinct differences associated with the range of metastability (increased), the timescales (bimodal), and the exact mechanism of ordering. While functionalized polyethylenes (PEs) exhibit valuable characteristics, the constraints of existing synthetic approaches limit the variety of readily incorporated functionality. New methods to generate functionalized PEs are required to afford new applications of this common material. We report 100 % atom economic tantalum-catalyzed hydroaminoalkylation of vinyl-terminated polyethylene (VTPE) as a method to produce amine-terminated PE. VTPEs with molecular weights between 2200-16800 g/mol are successfully aminated using solvent-free conditions. Our catalytic system is efficient for the installation of both aromatic and aliphatic amines, and can be carried out on multigram scale. The associating amine functional groups afford modified material properties, as measured by water contact angle, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polymer rheology. The basic amine functionality offers the opportunity to convert inert PE into stimuli-responsive materials, such that the protonation of aminated PE affords the generation of functional antibacterial PE films., (© 2024 The Authors. The widely used double-bridging hybrid (DBH) method for equilibrating simulated entangled polymer melts [Auhl et al., J. Chem. Phys. 119, 12718–12728 (2003)] loses its effectiveness as chain stiffness increases into the semiflexible regime because the energy barriers associated with double-bridging Monte Carlo moves become prohibitively high. Here we overcome this issue by combining DBH with the use of core-softened pair potentials. This reduces the energy barriers substantially, allowing us to equilibrate melts with N ≃ 40Ne and chain stiffnesses all the way up to the isotropic–nematic transition using simulations of no more than 100 × 106 time steps. For semiflexible chains, our method is several times faster than the standard DBH; we exploit this speedup to develop improved expressions for Kremer–Grest melts' chain-stiffness-dependent Kuhn length ℓK and entanglement length Ne. We examine the mobility gradient in the interfacial region of substrate-supported polymer films using molecular dynamics simulations and interpret these gradients within the string model of glass-formation. No large gradients in the extent of collective motion exist in these simulated films, and an analysis of the mobility gradient on a layer-by-layer basis indicates that the string model provides a quantitative description of the relaxation time gradient. Consequently, the string model indicates that the interfacial mobility gradient derives mainly from a gradient in the high-temperature activation enthalpy ΔH0 and entropy ΔS0 as a function of depth z, an effect that exists even in the high-temperature Arrhenius relaxation regime far above the glass transition temperature. To gain insight into the interfacial mobility gradient, we examined various material properties suggested previously to influence ΔH0 in condensed materials, including density, potential and cohesive energy density, and a local measure of stiffness or u 2 (z) −3/2, where u 2 (z) is the average mean squared particle displacement at a caging time (on the order of a ps). We find that changes in local stiffness best correlate with changes in ΔH0(z) and that ΔS0(z) also contributes significantly to the interfacial mobility gradient, so it must not be neglected. Partially deuterated polymers, made by saturating the double bonds of polydienes with deuterium, have been found to produce weak but significant coherent patterns in small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) experiments. The results suggest the presence of slight differences in deuteration levels among the chains. The scattering profiles for such materials and for blends containing them were calculated with the multicomponent random phase approximation (RPA). The coherent intensity for the deuterated component alone is predicted to be proportional to the variance of its scattering length distribution and to have a q dependence corresponding to the pure component structure factor. The SANS data for a variety of partially deuterated polyolefins are shown to be consistent with these predictions. The theory also predicts that the scattering from their blends with an hydrogenous component is enhanced by this scattering length inhomogeneity, that the enhancement is additive, and that the conventional two component RPA may be used to analyze the data after this contribution is subtracted. Experimentally, we find that uncorrected scattering from blends rich in such deuterated components lead to anomalous estimates of chain dimensions and thermodynamic interactions. Interfaces of glassy materials such as thin films, blends, and composites create strong unidirectional gradients to the local heterogeneous dynamics that can be used to elucidate the length scales and mechanisms associated with the dynamic heterogeneity of glasses. We focus on bilayer films of two different polymers with very different glass transition temperatures (Tg) where previous work has demonstrated a long-range (~200 nm) profile in local Tg(z) is established between immiscible glassy and rubbery polymer domains when the polymer-polymer interface is formed to equilibrium. Here, we demonstrate that an equally long-ranged gradient in local modulus ...(z) is established when the polymer-polymer interface (≈5 nm) is formed between domains of glassy polystyrene (PS) and rubbery poly(butadiene) (PB), consistent with previous reports of a broad Tg(z) profile in this system. A continuum physics model for the shear wave propagation caused by a quartz crystal microbalance across a PB/PS bilayer film is used to measure the viscoelastic properties of the bilayer during the evolution of the PB/PS interface showing the development of a broad gradient in local modulus ...(z) spanning ≈180 nm between the glassy and rubbery domains of PS and PB. We suggest these broad profiles in Tg(z) and ...(z) arise from a coupling of the spectrum of vibrational modes across the polymer-polymer interface as a result of acoustic impedance matching of sound waves with λ ~ 5 nm during interface broadening that can then trigger density fluctuations in the neighboring domain. Dynamic moduli G* and zero‐shear viscosity ηo,ring data in both melt and solution states were reported for putative cyclic poly(3,6‐dioxa‐1,8‐octanedithiol) (RDODT) with molecular weights ranging from 43 to 556 kg/mol. Measurements over wide temperature ranges provide up to 18 decades of reduced frequency to characterize RDODT melts and solutions with Zw = Mw/Me,lin from 23 to 300, where Mw is the weight average molecular weight and Me,lin ≈ 1850 g/mol is the entanglement molecular weight of the linear counterparts (LDODT). The G* of all the seven RDODT melts and eight of their solutions with Zw > 15 all have a rubbery plateau with the plateau moduli about same as GNo of the corresponding LDODT. The value Zw ≈ 15 marks the threshold for the change in scaling of ηo,ring from the Rouse‐like ηo,ring ∼ Zw1.0 to a much stronger dependence of ηo,ring ∼ Zw5.8 for Zw up to 300. Such a Zw5.8‐dependence has not been seen before in cyclic polymers and cannot be accounted for by current theoretical models for cyclic polymers. The Coupling Model had been used before to explain the Mw3.4 ‐dependence of linear entangled polymers and the stronger Mw ‐dependence of multi‐arm star branched polymers. During the processing of elastomeric compounds under high flow rates, significant pressure drops (106–108 Pa) are encountered. Under such conditions, the viscosity of these compounds is significantly affected by pressure and viscous heating. Moreover, strong flow rates may cause these systems to slip at the wall, violating the classical no-slip boundary condition of fluid mechanics. To determine the slip velocity by the well-known Mooney method, the effects of pressure and viscous heating should be considered. In this work, an experimental methodology is developed to determine the slip velocity of styrene–butadiene compounds in capillary flow corrected for the effects of pressure and viscous heating. First, the temperature increase due to viscous heating is measured during the extrusion process and accounted for in correcting the experimental data to infer the slip velocity. Consequently, the corrected experimental data for the effects of pressure and viscous heating are used to calculate the slip velocity from the deviation of the linear viscoelastic behavior (deviation from the Cox–Merz rule). Shear-induced crystallization behavior was studied using a phase-separated blend comprising a polypropylene continuous phase and a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) dispersion, which is known to show strain hardening in transient elongation viscosity. In this study, crystallization behavior was mainly evaluated by the light intensity transmitted through a transparent parallel-plate geometry. It was found that shear-induced crystallization was greatly accelerated by the addition of LDPE, resulting in a high crystallization temperature and a highly oriented structure. When the sample was cooled slowly, however, shear-induced crystallization was not accelerated by LDPE. Furthermore, extrusion was performed using a capillary rheometer. The molecular orientation in the strands collected after cooling in the air was found to be enhanced by the LDPE addition, suggesting that flow-induced crystallization was accelerated even at capillary extrusion. Lateral migration and focusing of particles in viscoelastic fluids have recently been widely exploited in various microfluidic applications, such as particle counting and separation. However, there are still many unresolved problems regarding the underlying mechanisms that induce lateral migration in polymer solutions. In particular, as the sizes of particles and polymers (e.g., radius of gyration) become comparable, continuum mechanics (constitutive modeling)-based analyses are expected to fail, which has not yet been investigated. If lateral particle migration occurs only due to conventional bulk viscoelastic effects, the equilibrium particle positions are expected to remain constant when the aspect ratio ( r p c ) of the particle to channel dimensions is nearly fixed. In this study, we found that as the channel dimension of the cross section decreases, a transition occurs in which individual polymers (λ -deoxyribonucleic acid) behave as deformable particles, and consequently, the equilibrium positions change. This study contributes to clarifying the lateral particle migration in polymer solutions and can be applied to various applications, such as deformability-selective particle separation. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and two-dimensional IR (2D-IR) spectroscopies were applied to polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) cross-linked elastomer films. The vibrational probe for the systems studied was a silicon hydride mode that was covalently bound to the polymer chains. The structure and dynamics reported by this mode were measured in response to a wide range of chemical and physical perturbations, including elevated curing temperature, increased curing agent concentration, mechanical compression, and cooling to near the glass transition temperature. The FTIR spectra were found to be relatively insensitive to all of these perturbations, and 2D-IR spectroscopy revealed that this was due to the overwhelming influence of heterogeneity on the spectral line shape. Surprisingly, the deconvoluted spectral line shapes showed that there were only slight differences in the heterogeneous and homogeneous dynamics even with the drastic macroscopic changes occurring in different systems. In the context of modeling polymer behavior, the results confirm that dynamics on the ultrafast time scale need not be included to properly model PDMS elasticity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The parameterization of rheological models for polymers is often obtained from experiments via the top-down approach. This procedure allows us to determine good fitting parameters for homogeneous materials but is less effective for polymer mixtures. From a molecular simulation point of view, the timescales needed to derive those parameters are often accessed through the use of coarse-grain potentials. However, these potentials are often derived from linear model systems and the transferability to a more complex structure is not straightforward. Here, we verify the transferability of a potential computed from linear polymer simulations to more complex molecular shapes and present a type of analysis, which was recently formulated in the framework of a tube theory, to a coarse-grain molecular approach in order to derive the input parameters for a rheological model. We describe the different behaviors arising from the local topological structure of molecular sub-units. Melt electrowriting (MEW) enables precise scaffold fabrication for biomedical applications. With a limited number of processable materials with short and tunable degradation times, polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) present an interesting option. Here, poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) and a blend of PHBV and poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-4-hydroxybutyrate) (PHBV+P34HB) are successfully melt electrowritten into scaffolds with various architectures. PHBV+P34HB exhibits greater thermal stability, making it a superior printing material compared to PHBV in MEW. The PHBV+P34HB scaffolds subjected to enzymatic degradation show tunable degradation times, governed by enzyme dilution, incubation time, and scaffold surface area. PHBV+P34HB scaffolds seeded with human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs), demonstrate enhanced cell adherence, proliferation, and spreading. The HDFs, when exposed to the enzyme solutions and enzymatic degradation residues, show good viability and proliferation rates. Additionally, HDFs grown on enzymatically pre-incubated scaffolds do not show any difference in behavior compared those grown on control scaffolds. It is concluded that PHAs, as biobased materials with enzymatically tunable degradability rates, are an important addition to the already limited set of materials available for MEW technology., (© 2024 The Author(s). Granular hydrogels, which are formed by densely packing microgels, are promising materials for bioprinting due to their extrudability, porosity, and modularity. However, the multidimensional parameter space involved in granular hydrogel design makes material optimization challenging. For example, design inputs such as microgel morphology, packing density, or stiffness can influence multiple rheological properties that govern printability and the behavior of encapsulated cells. This review provides an overview of fabrication methods for granular hydrogels, and then examines how important design inputs can influence material properties associated with printability and cellular responses across multiple scales. Recent applications of granular design principles in bioink engineering are described, including the development of granular support hydrogels for embedded printing. Further, the paper provides an overview of how key physical properties of granular hydrogels can influence cellular responses, highlighting the advantages of granular materials for promoting cell and tissue maturation after the printing process. A small number of associating groups incorporated onto a polymer backbone have dramatic effects on the mobility and viscoelastic response of the macromolecules in melts. These associating groups assemble, driving the formation of clusters, whose lifetime affects the properties of the polymers. Here, we probe the effects of the interaction strength on the structure and dynamics of two topologies, linear and star polymer melts, and further investigate blends of associative and non-associating polymers using molecular dynamics simulations. Polymer chains of approximately one entanglement length are described by a bead–spring model, and the associating groups are incorporated in the form of interacting beads with an interaction strength between them that is varied from 1 to 20 kBT. We find that, for all melts and blends, interaction of a few kBT between the associating groups drives cluster formation, where the size of the clusters increases with increasing interaction strength. These clusters act as physical crosslinkers, which slow the chain mobility. Blends of chains with and without associating groups macroscopically phase separate for interaction strength between the associating groups of a few kBT and above. For weakly interacting associating groups, the static structure function S(q) is well fit by functional form predicted by the random phase approximation where a clear deviation occurs as phase segregation takes place, providing a quantitative assessment of phase segregation. The rheological behavior of styrene–butadiene rubber (SBR) compounds filled with silica is investigated as a function of silica volume fraction. To predict the mechanical response, a continuum model for entangled polymer melts filled with nanoparticles is herein introduced. This model is capable of describing the rheological response in both the linear and nonlinear viscoelastic regimes in the context of non-equilibrium thermodynamics to guarantee its thermodynamic admissibility. The constitutive model describes the polymer nanocomposite melts at a mesoscopic level of description by considering the conformation tensor between successive entanglement points, and the orientation tensor for the, in general, spheroidal nanoparticles that describes their average orientation. Evolution equations are developed for nanoparticles with an arbitrary shape but are eventually specified to the case of spherical ones. The multimode version of the new constitutive model provides a very accurate prediction of the rheological behavior of the processability range of SBR/silica nanocomposites. Polymerization induced microphase separation (PIMS) is a strategy used to develop unique nanostructures with highly useful morphologies through the microphase separation of emergent block copolymers during polymerization. In this process, nanostructures are formed with at least two chemically independent domains, where at least one domain is composed of a robust crosslinked polymer. Crucially, this synthetically simple method is readily used to develop nanostructured materials with the highly coveted co‐continuous morphology, which can also be converted into mesoporous materials by selective etching of one domain. As PIMS exploits a block copolymer microphase separation mechanism, the size of each domain can be tightly controlled by modifying the size of block copolymer precursors, thus providing unparalleled control over nanostructure and resultant mesopore sizes. Since its inception 11 years ago, PIMS has been used to develop a vast inventory of advanced materials for an extensive range of applications including biomedical devices, ion exchange membranes, lithium‐ion batteries, catalysis, 3D printing, and fluorescence‐based sensors, among many others. In this review, we provide a comprehensive overview of the PIMS process, summarize latest developments in PIMS chemistry, and discuss its utility in a wide variety of relevant applications. This study investigated the influence of iron concentration on the thermodynamic properties of syndiotactic polypropylene (sPP)/iron composites in the melt phase in a series of samples with varying iron content, ranging from 0 to 10% with a step of 2%. The HYSYS software was used to estimate molecular weight, critical temperature (Tc), critical volume (Vc), and eccentricity (Ec). The results showed that all these properties changed as the iron content varied. In this study, a series of ladder‐like polysiloxanes are synthesized by introducing double‐chain Si–O–Si polymer as the backbone and the carbazole and triphenylphosphine oxide with high triplet energy as side groups. The ladder‐like structures of polysiloxanes are achieved through a controlled polymerization method that involves the monomer self‐assembly and subsequent surface‐restricted solid‐phase in situ condensation through freeze‐drying. The introduction of siloxane improves thermal stability of the polymers and inhibits the conjugation of the polymers between the side groups, leading to an increase in the triplet energy level. Therefore, all these polymers perform higher triplet energy levels than phosphorescent emitter (FIrpic). The cyclic voltammetry measurements demonstrate that the bipolar polymer exhibits a high highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) value of −5.32 eV, which is consistent with the work function of ITO/PEDOT:PSS, consequently facilitating hole injection. Furthermore, the incorporation of triphenylphosphine oxide promotes electron injection. Molecular simulations reveal that the frontier orbital distributions of the bipolar polymer are located on the carbazole and triphenylphosphine groups, respectively, which facilitate the transport of electrons and holes.
