The vindication of female sport at an international level and the visibility of this subject in the media provided the groundwork for the release of the fictional television series Les de l'hoquei/The Hockey Girls (TV3, 2019–2020; Netflix, 2019). After a successful first season on TV3, it was included in the Netflix catalogue. Through content analysis of its first season and an ad-hoc analysis sheet, we conclude that this series promotes equality by creating a new collective subject that unites men and women. We also find that it builds new models of masculinity, female empowerment, sisterhood and better relations between genders. Therefore, the series moves away from post-feminist postulates and shows that it is still necessary to establish equality between men and women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research uses the Social Network Analysis (SNA) method to determine the main actors in Twitter discussions around news topics. First, using the theory of networked authoritarianism (MacKinnon, 2011), it conceptualizes the ways that authoritarian states may influence domestic media and the broader Internet, taking Russia as our case study. It describes Russia's media system and the incentives behind it. Next, it discusses the role of Twitter in authoritarian societies and defines Twitter's role in today's Russia. Methodology and results are followed by an exploration of the involvement of state-loyal actors in online discussions of the news, including those centered on social media in support of Russia's domestic and international priorities, aiming to set the agenda on sensitive news topics and, thus, support existing authoritarian elites while diminishing voices of opposition. Analysis of intertextuality in Spanish police dramas between 1990-2010 shows that one of the repeated leitmotifs, both on television and on new audio-visual platforms, is the female victim, which recurs both thematically and mythically. This study also confirms the rise of complex narrative (Mittell, 2015) through the development of references to metatextuality and selfreferentiality, with a substantial difference between the first and second decades analysed. There are references not only to police dramas but also to the values of the production process, whether ideological or generic, in line with the pleasure of recognition and the construction of the model viewer (Eco, 1986). For more than twenty years in Spain, national series and telenovelas were broadcast alongside Latin American telenovelas, which have gradually decreased until practically disappearing from the screens. Although the production of Spanish fiction goes back as far as the arrival of television, the truth is that the disaffection with the Latin American telenovela and the consolidation of Spanish fiction may have brought with it the transfer of narrative, aesthetic and cultural codes upon the which the new model of Spanish audiovisual fiction was built. This article1 analyzes these characteristics in both models from the comparative analysis of broadcast titles. The results show similarities in the superimposed structure of the plots and the use of drama, while differences include the design of characters and the preference for certain themes and settings related to the cultural spaces in which the stories occur. La presente investigación versa sobre los contenidos de la producción audiovisual de ficción de género policíaco emitida en España entre 1990 y 2010. Los treinta y seis títulos del período (primordialmente series, pero también miniseries, TV-movies y seriales) se han analizado utilizando metodología tanto cuantitativa (reconstrucción de la parrilla televisiva) como cualitativa, prestando especial atención a los temas sociales, así como a las tramas y los estereotipos empleados. Tras una descripción de la tipología de los programas, se plantea una relación entre los valores que buscan transmitir, los resultados de audiencia, el carácter público o privado de la cadena emisora y el partido político en el Gobierno. En cuanto a los resultados, las cadenas privadas son las que emiten las series más longevas de este período y con mayor índice de audiencia (El comisario [Tele5, 1999–2009], Policías: En el corazón de la calle [Antena 3, 2000–2003] y Los hombres de Paco [Antena 3, 2005–2010]) y son aquellas en las que los valores referentes a la migración experimentan una evolución positiva. A pesar de ello, persiste una perspectiva androcéntrica que, en algunos casos, sufre una involución a lo largo del tiempo, siendo más progresistas en lo que se refiere al tratamiento del género algunas series de los años 90 (Petra Delicado [Tele5, 1999]; Pepe Carvalho [Tele5, 1999–2000]) que las ya mencionadas de la década posterior. The comparison of six Spanish television dramas has enabled us to analyse the role of women in these fictional products. In the series analysed there is a persistence of males playing the leading roles, as well as a reiteration of female stereotypes. In the case of the Catalan television dramas on TVC (El cor de la ciutat, Ventdelplà and Infidels) a more positive treatment of femininity could be observed in the series dealing with social customs. In the Basque productions on EITB (Goenkale, Martin and Mi querido Klikowsky) there is a perpetuation of the cliché of the Basque woman as being strong and capable of managing her home and family, as well as of her feelings. This paper analyzes the presence and absence of thematic and mythical recurrence in online news, considering that online news production is under the influence of transmedia storytelling and, for this reason, could be affected by the presence of myth, as a cultural production that News are, and as receiving the influence of themes and myths in this new sphere. The methodological design consists in determining the extent to which themes, genres and myths are interrelated in the construction of the story. The methodology is divided into the diachronic analysis (relation with genre, plot, obligatory and optional regularities) and the synchronic analysis (thematic recurrence, myth, identification of recurrent themes) and the references are structured and classified. The research concludes that the maintenance of the generic regularities in the quality press in the sample analyzed (The New York Times and BBC On-Line News) reinforces the quality press features, even though the nowadays' journalism crisis and opposite to the introduction of spectacular and banal characteristics in TV news.
