This article discusses the mean of Korean peace for overcrowded, nationalistic Japan. As Japan's power and population multiplied, so did its problems. Food and raw materials had to be imported to supply the new urban population and new machines, and to be paid for by exports. Expanding national armaments, designed to preserve the independence of the nation in an era of Asian colonization, had to be financed. Urban communities have already reached the saturation point, yet the tide of migration from over-populated farming areas to the industrial cities is equivalent to one new city of nearly a million inhabitants every year.
