In this manuscript, carrier transport simulation methods are proposed for devices with the coexistence of quantum transport and diffusive transport by combining the nonequilibrium Green's function method with the drift-diffusion transport simulation method. Current continuity between quantum transport and drift-diffusion transport is ensured by setting quantum transport current as the connection boundary condition of drift-diffusion simulation or by introducing quantum transport-induced carrier generation rates to drift-diffusion simulation. A comprehensive study of our method and the method combining the Wentzel–Kramers–Brillouin (WKB) method with the drift-diffusion transport simulation method is performed for n-type tunnel oxide passivating contact solar cell to investigate their applicable conditions and balance the accuracy and computational cost. As the oxide barrier width, barrier height, and electron effective mass increase, or the doping concentration in the electron transport layer decreases to the extent that the blocking effect of the oxide barrier on light-generated electrons becomes significant, method I is more accurate since the transmission coefficient near the conduction band edge calculated by WKB is overestimated; otherwise, method II is more suitable due to its low computational cost without the loss of accuracy. In addition, the differences between current densities, carrier densities, and Shockley–Read–Hall recombination rates simulated under the two current continuity conditions for the solar cell with different carrier mobilities are also further explored and analyzed. Summary of main observation and conclusion: A star‐shaped compound 1 with a pyrene core and four triarylamine arms has been prepared and characterized. It exhibits intense intramolecular‐charge‐transfer (ICT) emissions with strong solvatofluorochromism. On the basis of the temperature‐dependent emission color and wavelength changes, compound 1 behaves as a fluorescent thermometer between 200 and 400 K with a high theromosensitivity. A dual-emissive tris-heteroleptic ruthenium complex is designed, synthesized and applied for the ratiometric photoluminescent detection of amyloid-β (Aβ) aggregation in both steady and transient states. The Aβ aggregation is supported by transmission electron microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy analysis. The ITO/active material/Au sandwiched devices of a cobalt(ii) bis-terpyridine complex decorated with two triphenylamine motifs display appealing flash-type resistive switching with a large ON/OFF ratio (＞103) and low operating voltages (＜±3 V). A novel multi-functional interface material (TAAPyr) is first developed as a defect passivation layer and a protect layer against moisture for PSCs application. Consequently, the efficiency of TAAPyr-based device can increase form 20.37% to 22.45%, with an unencapsulated device retaining 90% of its initial efficiency after storage for 600h at ∼65% humidity. Surface treatment of perovskite films with interface materials is an effective strategy to resolve trap-mediated nonradiative recombination toward high efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, interface materials for multi-functional treatment have been rarely investigated in PSCs. In this work, a novel pyrene-based organic material (TAAPyr) is first introduced as a defect passivation layer and a protect layer against moisture for PSCs application. With the TAAPyr interfacial modification, both perovskite surface defects and nonradiative recombination are effectively decreased as well as the carrier transport in device is also enhanced, As a consequence, the best power conversion efficiencies (PCE) up to 22.45% for TAAPyr-based device was obtained, clearly outperforming the control one (20.37%). Moreover, it was found that the π-conjugated TAAPyr can promote intermolecular face-to-face stacking on the surface perovskite film, which is favorable to making the perovskite surface more hydrophobic and consequently enhance PSCs long-term stability. The un-encapsulated PSCs can retain 92% of the initial PCE after storage for 600 h at ∼65% RH, in comparison with 64% efficiency retention of the device without TAAPyr under the same conditions. Two star-shaped multi-triphenylamine derivatives 1 and 2 were prepared, where 2 has an additional phenyl unit between a pyrene core and surrounding triphenylamine units. The oxidative electropolymerization of 1 and 2 occurred smoothly to give thin films of polymers P1 and P2. The electrochemistry and spectroelectrochemistry of P1 and P2 were examined, showing two-step absorption spectral changes in the near-infrared region. The electrochromic properties, including contrast ratio, response time, and cyclic stability of P1 and P2 were investigated and compared. Thin film of P2 displays slightly better electrochromic performance than P1, with a contrast ratio of 45% at 1475 nm being achieved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
