The difficulty in finding useful dialogic data to train a conversational agent is an open issue even nowadays, when chatbots and spoken dialogue systems are widely used. For this reason we decided to build JILDA, a novel data collection of chat-based dialogues, produced by Italian native speakers and related to the job-offer domain. JILDA is the first dialogue collection related to this domain for the Italian language. Because of its collection modalities, we believe that JILDA can be a useful resource not only for the Italian research community, but also for the international one.

On behalf of the Program Committee, a very warm welcome to the Seventh Italian Conference on Computational Linguistics (CLiC-it 2020). This edition of the conference is held in Bologna and organised by the University of Bologna. The CLiC-it conference series is an initiative of the Italian Association for Computational Linguistics (AILC) which, after six years of activity, has clearly established itself as the premier national forum for research and development in the fields of Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing, where leading researchers and practitioners from academia and industry meet to share their research results, experiences, and challenges.

This book presents the proceedings of the annual Conference of Computational Linguistics (CLiC-it), which aims to provide a forum for discussion in the field of computational linguistics. The proceedings include interventions on the automatic treatment of language, with theoretical and methodological reflections on the subject, and provide an important contribution to this field of research. The other main topics are: computational linguistics, linguistics, cognitive sciences, automatic learning, computer science, knowledge representation, information retrieval and digital humanities. The organization of the conference is the result of the effort of the Italian Association of Computational Linguistics (AILC http://www.ai-lc.it/), represented every year by some of the organizing members, who are also affiliated to other organizations operating in the field of computational linguistics.

SOCIAL impact , *CONVERSATION , *ARTIFICIAL intelligence - Abstract
The aim of this paper is to contribute to the debate on ethics in AI focusing particularly on the social and ethical issues which emerge during human–conversational agent interaction. Those issues will be approached adopting both the perspective of the user and the one of the machine. In fact, it is often stressed the need to include the ethical component within system's design, which it is certainly necessary as will be discussed in the article. Nevertheless, conversational agents are tools, although they are capable of having a strong impact on the society; thus, the moral use of these social tools must be demanded to users as well. For this reason, it will be proposed a new set of ethical guidelines, called Mirror Ethics, based on the alignment of both parties involved in the conversation to a shared moral baseline. The adoption of these shared values will lead to the creation of a new ethical equilibrium between users and conversational agents, producing a social beneficial impact and increasing the level of trust within the human–machine interaction. EVALITA is the evaluation campaign of Natural Language Processing and Speech Tools for the Italian language: since 2007 shared tasks have been proposed covering the analysis of both written and spoken language with the aim of enhancing the development and dissemination of resources and technologies for Italian. EVALITA is an initiative of the Italian Association for Computational Linguistics (AILC, http://www.ai-lc.it/) and it is supported by the NLP Special Interest Group of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AI*IA, http://www.aixia.it/) and by the Italian Association of Speech Science (AISV, http://www.aisv.it/). In this volume, we collect the reports of the tasks’ organisers and of the participants to all of the EVALITA 2016’s tasks, which are the following: ArtiPhone - Articulatory Phone Recognition; FactA - Event Factuality Annotation; NEEL-IT - Named Entity rEcognition and Linking in Italian Tweets; PoSTWITA - POS tagging for Italian Social Media Texts; QA4FAQ - Question Answering for Frequently Asked Questions; SENTIPOLC - SENTIment POLarity Classification. Notice that the volume does not include reports related to the IBM Watson Services Challenge organised by IBM Italy, but information can be found at http://www.evalita.it/2016/tasks/ibm-challenge. Before the task and participant reports, we also include an overview to the campaign that describes the tasks in more detail, provides figures on the participants, and, especially, highlights the innovations introduced at this year’s edition. An additional report presents a reflection on the outcome of two questionnaires filled by past participants and organisers of EVALITA, and of the panel “Raising Interest and Collecting Suggestions on the EVALITA Evaluation Campaign” held at CLIC-it 2015.
