Abstract

The main problem of radiation therapy is damage to normal tissues. One of the ways to solve this problem is radiomodification using cerium oxide nanoparticles (CONP's). The protective effect of CONP's can be measured with ferrous sulfate dosimeter (FSD). The dose modifying factors for tissue equivalent solution of FSD with CONP's in concentration 0.5 mg/ml irradiated by bremsstrahlung of 9 MeV electron beam were calculated. Abstract

Nanopowders doped with silver were produced by the method of pulsed electron beam evaporation. The pore sizes of the nanoparticles were 25-32 nm. Evaluation of photocatalytic and cytotoxic properties on cells was carried out. The prospects of using multimodal nanopowders as a photocatalytic agent, as well as for use in medicine, have been shown. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved. Abstract

Radiation treatment has been increasingly used for food processing. The possibility of using EPR spectrometry as adosimetry method is show in this work. The results of studying the EPR signals in wheat seeds presented in this article. The samples were irradiated by accelerated electrons, beam energy is 500 keV, dose range is 1 – 30 kGy. The EPR spectra were recorded 2 hours after irradiation and 23 days after irradiation. The study of free radical's time kinetics and fading estimation of integral intensity and peaks intensity was carried out. That is possible to register a signal for 23 days. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Mesoporous multiphase amorphous–crystalline Bi2O3 nanopowder with the specific surface area of 23 m2/g is obtained using pulsed electron beam evaporation in vacuum. The influence of thermal annealing (200–300°C) of the powder in air has been investigated. Droplets 2–5 nm in size are formed on the surface of all large nanoparticles comprising the framework of 3D agglomerates of the nanopowder due to extrusion of liquid bismuth from bulk upon cooling. Abstract

The purpose of the research was to investigate the potential of using SiO2-MnO2 nanopowder, obtained by electron beam evaporation, as a drug delivery system. The evaluation of the sedimentation stability of suspensions was conducted for further in vivo studies. It was established that PEG stabilized suspensions showed the highest stability. Drug loading and release experiments with nanopowders demonstrated a high drug loading capacity of Amoxicillin and Doxorubicin.
