Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was usually referred to as a concept where companies initiate voluntary action towards social and environmental concerns in the context of business operations related to the stakeholders of the company prior to the CSR Act 2013 in India. Post-2013, the voluntary initiative was replaced by regulatory guidelines to address social and environmental concerns. The CSR applicability–investment gap was used as a base concept in this study with instrumental theory; the study offers a strategic perspective of CSR and how organizations emphasized maximizing stakeholders' value. In order to further investigate the effect of CSR on corporate financial performance (CFP) through the measure of shareholders' value, i.e., the return on equity (ROE), the study used the sample from the National Stock Exchange (NSE)-Nifty-100 indexed companies of Emerging Economy—India for a span of fourteen years (2009–2023). The vast majority of research in this domain is conducted in developed countries; the research gap is filled by this study by considering India and drawing samples from multiple industries. The empirical model was developed by using panel data regression, where the dependent variable was ROE, and the independent variables were earning per share (EPS), log total income (LTI), CSR applicability/profit after tax (CRSAPPPAT), and CSR investment/profit after tax (CSRIPAT). The findings also highlighted the CSR applicability and investment of the firms during pre- and post-Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) periods. The same was also analyzed for the firms committed to CSR and not committed to CSR. The results indicated that there is no significant impact of the CSR/ESG initiatives (applicability and investment) on the ROE of the firms. Over a period of time sustainability and sustainable development goals (SDGs) are emerging as central theme and issue of concern for companies and stakeholders across the globe. The challenges are in the preview of regulatory requirements and compliance for environmental, social, and governance issues. The issues are varying from industry to industry and firm to firm as per the requirements and pressure from regulatory bodies, stakeholder groups, peers, and society. This is an inductive research design based exploratory study, revolves around most polluting and socially challenged textiles and clothing industry. The two Indian, global textile giant Birla Cellulose and Arvind Limited used as a case study exemplar for stakeholder value mapping for SDGs prioritization. The companies are considered for the study based on their sustainability reporting, social legacy, brand value, market capitalization, and global reach. The coronavirus originated in the latter part of 2019 and has become a matter of concern for the entire globe. Because of this, companies are facing two major challenges. The first one is that companies across the world have started to give a thought for protecting their stakeholder, such as customers, employees and suppliers. The Wuhan Municipal Corporation reported the first case of coronavirus in China on December 31, 2019. After that, the virus spread across the globe. And as the pandemic caused by the coronavirus continues to spread, governments across the globe are having a difficult time in analyzing and predicting the course of the evolving situation. The first case of coronavirus in India was reported on January 30, 2020, post which the virus gradually spread its tentacles, forcing the government to declare a stringent lockdown on March 24, 2020. While the pandemic is a global problem, it is all the more severe in India given the large population base of 1.3 billion people. The other challenge is limited medical resources per capita population base. The leadership has to contain the spread of the virus and at the same time upgrade its medical infrastructure to deal with the disease. This paper is an effort to map leadership initiatives in the context of VUCA, an acronym which stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity, to fight the coronavirus. Control of structural vibrations has significant applications in manufacturing, infrastructure engineering, aerospace engineering and various consumer products. In last two decades, considerable attention has been focused to suppress structural vibrations using active vibration control technique. Various researchers have proposed various optimization criteria for optimal placement of piezoelectric patches over a smart structure to suppress vibrations using various optimization techniques. This paper presents a review of various optimization criteria and techniques that have been used by various researchers in the field of smart structures. Mathematical expressions of objective functions of twelve optimization criteria have been presented and their justifications have been reasoned. The purpose of the paper is to study the underlying factors influencing the environmental attitude of young online consumers and their intention to purchase environmentally friendly products. To meet the objectives of the study, descriptive research method was used. A survey was administered to the young facebook and Linkedin users lying under the age group of 18-30, yielding a total response of 302 relevant responses. Standard scales with some relevant modifications were used for measuring the attitude towards the environment and purchase intention towards green products. Confirmatory factor analysis was applied to identify the underlying factors/constructs influencing the attitude. Results show that Collectivism (CO), Eco-literacy (ECO), Perceived Consumer Effectiveness (PCE) and Environmental Concern (EC) are socio-psychological factors which are positively correlated to young online consumer environmental attitude (CEA) and their intention to purchase environmentally friendly product is positively correlated to their environmental attitude. The outcome of the research may help the marketers, policy makers, strategists, advertisers and other stakeholders in designing their policies and promotional strategies in order to tap a new emerging market of socially responsible and environmentally friendly consumers.
