This study assesses the application of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for optimizing resource allocation, demand-supply matching, and dynamic pricing within circular economy (CE) digital marketplaces. Five AI models—autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA), long short-term memory (LSTM), random forest (RF), gradient boosting regressor (GBR), and neural networks (NNs)—were evaluated based on their effectiveness in predicting waste generation, economic growth, and energy prices. The GBR model outperformed the others, achieving a mean absolute error (MAE) of 23.39 and an R 2 of 0.7586 in demand forecasting, demonstrating strong potential for resource flow management. In contrast, the NNs encountered limitations in supply prediction, with an MAE of 121.86 and an R 2 of 0.0151, indicating challenges in adapting to market volatility. Reinforcement learning methods, specifically Q-learning and deep Q-learning (DQL), were applied for price stabilization, resulting in reduced price fluctuations and improved market stability. These findings contribute a conceptual framework for AI-driven CE marketplaces, showcasing the role of AI in enhancing resource efficiency and supporting sustainable urban development. While synthetic data enabled controlled experimentation, this study acknowledges its limitations in capturing full real-world variability, marking a direction for future research to validate findings with real-world data. The hazardous environment of space, dominated by cosmic and solar radiation, poses a significant threat to spacecraft and their occupants. Traditional radiation shielding methods, like passive materials, have limitations in weight and effectiveness. An artificial magnetic field generator system emerges as a promising solution to replicate Earth's magnetosphere, providing a protective magnetic shield against harmful radiation. (Dick, Launius, 2007) This paper presents a Model‐Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to the holistic modeling and design of such a system. Utilizing the MBSE approach, this study models the system's components, their interactions, and the offered services, incorporating Radiation Monitoring, Magnetic Shielding, Power Management, System Health & Diagnostics, and Crew Communication services. The conceptual data model captures key entities and their relationships, ensuring a coherent integration of the system's parts. The activity diagram illustrates the operational flow, providing clarity on the system's dynamic behavior under varying radiation conditions and power reserves. A services taxonomy is developed to hierarchically categorize and ensure the comprehensive functionality of the system. The application of MBSE methodology provides numerous advantages, including a unified visualization of the system's complexities, enhanced stakeholder communication, and a streamlined validation and verification process. Furthermore, the flexibility inherent in the MBSE approach ensures that the system can be easily updated or scaled based on advancements in technology or changing mission requirements. This study examines the potentials and challenges of drones, or unmanned autonomous vehicles (UAVs), in supply chain management (SCM) and logistics. A systematic literature review was performed to capture the dynamics surrounding drones and to provide a timely and comprehensive overview of what has been studied so far and what needs to be investigated in the future. 55 publications were selected and thoroughly analysed. The findings of this study illustrate that the potential strengths of applying drones in SCM and logistics are: (1) support of humanitarian logistics, (2) reduced delivery time, (3) reduced cost, (4) improved flexibility, and (5) increased sustainability. In addition, the challenges posed by drones in SCM and logistics are grouped into technical, organisational, safety-related, and regulatory issues. Extractive summarization is an important natural language processing approach used for document compression, improved reading comprehension, key phrase extraction, indexing, query set generation, and other analytics approaches. Extractive summarization has specific advantages over abstractive summarization in that it preserves style, specific text elements, and compound phrases that might be more directly associated with the text. In this article, the relative effectiveness of extractive summarization is considered on two widely different corpora: (1) a set of works of fiction (100 total, mainly novels) available from Project Gutenberg, and (2) a large set of news articles (3000) for which a ground truthed summarization (gold standard) is provided by the authors of the news articles. Both sets were evaluated using 5 different Python Sumy algorithms and compared to randomly-generated summarizations quantitatively. Two functional approaches to assessing the efficacy of summarization using a query set on both the original documents and their summaries, and using document classification on a 12-class set to compare among different summarization approaches, are introduced. The results, unsurprisingly, show considerable differences consistent with the different nature of these two data sets. The LSA and Luhn summarization approaches were most effective on the database of fiction, while all five summarization approaches were similarly effective on the database of articles. A novel method is presented for evaluating the efficacy of object recognition algorithms on occluded images, called the occluded image function (OIF). The OIF describes system behavior in occluded environments and thus gives qualitative insight into their mechanisms; derivative metrics from OIF can also be used to quantitatively compare classifiers. To showcase the utility of the OIF, an experiment is performed by obstructing optical gait images from two biped robot models and using four binary machine learning classifiers to distinguish between them. The OIF diagrams are created from each experiment, and the resulting insights about the classifiers are discussed. Using the OIF, it is shown that the primitive classifiers can sometimes perform better under occlusion conditions, possibly due to pre-filtering of gait data by uniform occlusions.
