BackgroundTelemedicine has been used widely in China and has benefited a large number of patients, but little is known about the overall development of telemedicine. ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to perform a national survey to identify the overall implementation and application of telemedicine in Chinese tertiary hospitals and provide a scientific basis for the successful expansion of telemedicine in the future. MethodsThe method of probability proportionate to size sampling was adopted to collect data from 161 tertiary hospitals in 29 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. Charts and statistical tests were applied to compare the development of telemedicine, including management, network, data storage, software and hardware equipment, and application of telemedicine. Ordinal logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between these factors and telemedicine service effect. ResultsApproximately 93.8% (151/161) of the tertiary hospitals carried out telemedicine services in business-to-business mode. The most widely used type of telemedicine network was the virtual private network with a usage rate of 55.3% (89/161). Only a few tertiary hospitals did not establish data security and cybersecurity measures. Of the 161 hospitals that took part in the survey, 100 (62.1%) conducted remote videoconferencing supported by hardware instead of software. The top 5 telemedicine services implemented in the hospitals were teleconsultation, remote education, telediagnosis of medical images, tele-electrocardiography, and telepathology, with coverage rates of 86.3% (139/161), 57.1% (92/161), 49.7% (80/161), 37.9% (61/161), and 33.5% (54/161), respectively. The average annual service volume of teleconsultation reached 714 cases per hospital. Teleconsultation and telediagnosis were the core charging services. BackgroundThe internet has caused the explosive growth of medical information and has greatly improved the availability of medical knowledge. This makes the internet one of the main ways for residents to obtain medical information and knowledge before seeking medical treatment. However, little has been researched on how the internet affects medical decisions. ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to explore the associations between internet behaviors and medical decisions among Chinese adults aged 18 or over, including whether to go to the hospital and which level of medical institution to choose. Northern China has been identified as an independent centre of domestication for various types of millet and other plant species, but tracing the earliest evidence for the exploitation of wild cereals and thus the actual domestication process has proven challenging. Evidence from microscopic analyses of stone tools, including use-wear, starch and phytolith analyses, however, show that in the Shizitan region of north China, various plants have been exploited as far back as 28 000years ago, and wild millets have been harvested and processed by the time of the Last Glacial Maximum, 24 000 years ago. In this paper, BLDA technology has been applied to realize the preparation of a LTPS TFT without ion implantation. The BLDA LTPS TFT gives the advantages of high mobility (~ 290.5 cm2/Vs), a smaller subthreshold voltage swing, kink‐free output curve, and excellent device stability under PBTS. The backplane technology has been successfully applied in 7.1‐inch Mini‐LED display products, and the lighting effect is uniform. The Belt and Road Initiative was proposed by China in 2013 as a response to sluggish global economic growth. With most countries along the Belt and Road being developing countries, it is crucial to strengthen trade cooperation in agricultural products. However, the current literature lacks an analysis of the competitiveness and complementarity of agricultural products in these countries. This study aims to fill this gap by showing that the Belt and Road Initiative has reduced agricultural export competitiveness and increased agricultural trade complementarity. Several factors influence the similarity and complementarity of agricultural exports in participating countries along the Belt and Road, including geographical distance, level of economic development, free trade agreements, degree of country openness, exchange rates, cultural differences, share of agricultural value added, and level of infrastructure. The detailed analysis shows that the Belt and Road Initiative has significantly improved the quality of the agricultural exports of participating countries. A techno-functional approach applied to the lithics of the Late Upper Palaeolithic Shizitan 29 site allows the identification of previously unrecognized technical features of microblade pressure production and new behavioral understanding of its evolution beginning ca. 26,000 cal b.p. These technical features may relate to the evolution of so-called boat-shaped cores, including the development of two blade scar sequences and the 8-like contour of the striking platform (likely related to fixing cores in a holding device). Counter to traditional typological lithic analyses centered on final core morphologies, we seek to identify technical objectives related to the required pressure production. In doing so, we argue that earlier semi-conical cores may have maximized the exploitation of the core volume, while subsequent boat-shaped cores developed to maximize the efficiency of the production of straight profile, regular blades. Ensuring sustainable levels of rice yield has become a significant concern in recent years. To improve yields in rice production, it is essential to increase factor inputs and productivity. However, current research primarily focuses on general grain productivity, rather than rice. In this study, utilize the DEA-Malmquist index to present a comprehensive temporal and spatial analysis of rice productivity and its determinants in China. Our findings reveal that the overall efficiency of rice production in China exhibits a fluctuating upward trend, with technological progress being the primary driver of improvement in production efficiency. Moreover, rice production efficiency demonstrates a distribution pattern that decreases from east to west, with resource endowment, production conditions, socioeconomic development levels, and the political system being crucial factors influencing efficiency. This study proposes novel ideas for structural adjustments and regional divisions within China's rice industry and provides a theoretical foundation for governments to develop evidence-based policies. Polydatin (PD) is a natural compound with anticancer activities, but the underlying mechanisms remain largely unclear. To understand how PD inhibited hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), we studied PD treatments in HCC HepG2 and SK-HEP1 cells, and normal liver HL-7702 cells. PD selectively blocked the proliferation of HCC cells but showed low toxicity in normal cells, while the effects of doxorubicin (DOX) and cisplatin (DDP) on HCC and normal liver cells were opposite. In the cotreatment studies, PD synergistically improved the inhibitory activities of DOX and DDP in HCC cells but alleviated their toxicity in HL-7702 cells. Furthermore, RNA-seq studies of PD-treated HepG2 cells revealed multiple altered signaling pathways. We identified 1679 Differentially Expressed Genes (DEGs) with over a 2.0-fold change in response to PD treatment. Integrative analyses using the DEGs in PD-treated HepG2 cells and DEGs in a TCGA dataset of HCC patients revealed five PD-repressed DEGs regulating mitotic spindle midzone formation. The expression of these genes showed significantly positive correlation with poor clinical outcomes of HCC patients, suggesting that mitotic machinery was likely a primary target of PD. Among the three DMTF1 splicing isoforms, DMTF1α acts as a tumour suppressor through promoting p14ARF expression, while DMTF1β exhibits an oncogenic role likely through antagonizing DMTF1α. However, the molecular mechanism underlying alternative splicing of DMTF1 pre-mRNA has not been delineated. In the current study, we discovered SRSF5 as a regulatory protein binding to a region located between DMTF1β and α acceptor splice sites to promote DMTF1β and γ splicing. We demonstrated that SRSF5 expression positively correlated with DMTF1β/α ratio in breast cancer samples, and ectopically expressed SRSF5 promoted the splicing of DMTF1β and γ, but not DMTF1α, when testing endogenous DMTF1 pre-mRNA and a reporter construct. Upon SRSF5 knockdown, we observed significantly decreased DMTF1β and γ ratios of endogenous transcripts. An RNA sequence just upstream of the α acceptor site contains two adjacent SRSF5 binding elements, one of which overlaps with an SF1 binding site. Our mechanistic studies revealed that SRSF5 binding to both elements in this region could consign SF1 to its distal-binding sites close to the β and γ acceptor sites, favouring splicing of their isoforms. Overall, our study revealed SRSF5 as a key regulator to promote DMTF1β and γ splicing, and consequently reduce DMTF1α splicing.
