The literature review states that there is no conclusive evidence that the MBSE approach performs better compared to the “Document Centric” approach. Only a few references have claimed superior performance of the MBSE approach. The focus of our research is to analyze this issue based on a real-world example that many can relate to easily. This paper shows the work-in-progress of the stated research. This paper focuses on the use of the MBSE approach to estimate the throughput of a scaled-down serial flow line with unreliable machines and moderate buffers. The paper shows how a MBSE approach is used and how the stakeholders can access a “single source of truth” to make future changes that arise during the execution of the project. We have identified a set of KPIs in this paper that will be used for comparison when we compare the MBSE approach with the ”Document Centric” approach. Our next paper will focus on the use of a “Document-centric” approach to solve the same problem and report performance based on the same set of KPIs reported in the current paper. 4. Investigating the Devices that Measure and Improve Grip Strength Through Telerehabilitation: A Scoping Review.

Introduction: Grip strength is a vital hand function skill required to perform everyday tasks. Diseases and conditions deteriorate grip strength. Repetitive exercises can improve grip strength, but people are non-compliant with home exercise programs. Gamification of exercises can increase home exercise compliance. A device is needed to measure and rehabilitate grip strength and to deliver exercises remotely. A preliminary search on that topic did not provide any review literature on grip-strength devices. Accordingly, this scoping literature review (SLR) explores various electronic devices and sensors used to measure grip strength. Materials and Methods: Five electronic databases, namely PubMed, IEEE, Scopus, ACM digital library, and Web of Science, were searched. Modified preferred reporting items for systematic literature review and meta-analysis guidelines were used, with population/disease, intervention, comparison, and outcome framework employed to identify keywords and frame the research questions. Results: The results of the search yielded 3546 articles, and after elimination, 15 articles met the inclusion criteria for this review. Hence, this review has categorized various devices and sensors that measured grip strength, along with their wireless communication and gamification capabilities. Conclusion: The categorization presented in this review can help researchers use this information for future directions by emphasizing research gaps and designing telerehabilitation devices. Handgrip strength is an essential function of the hand to perform day-to-day tasks. People lose grip strength due to various factors such as aging, diseases, and other medical conditions. According to neuroplastic and physiological principles, grip strength can be improved using goal-oriented tasks or exercises repeatedly and consistently. People often fail to adhere to repeated movements, including grip strength exercises. Studies have shown that game-based rehabilitation has improved exercise compliance and functional outcomes. This article explains the design and development of an affordable smartphone-based telerehabilitation system that includes an innovatively designed grip strength device (eGripper) and a phone application to play games. Commonality or the use of same components (parts, assemblies, or subsystems) among multiple products can reduce component inventory and simplify processes and logistics while accommodating variations in product demand. Excessive commonality, however, causes some products to use high-performance components and increase product cost. This paper presents an approach for evaluating profitability of component commonality by integrating commonality and supply chain decisions. The proposed approach is demonstrated using commonality of electric-bicycle motors as an illustrative example. The purpose of this technical paper is to present the generic features of a discrete event simulation software. The generic features represent the needs of a model builder during the translation of a problem statement into a simulation model. The generic features are software neutral and recognition of them helps a simulation model builder to migrate from one software to another easily. Some examples of the generic features related to model building include: entity generation scheme, resource management procedures, queue management procedures, manipulating the simulation clock, representation of system state and ways to terminate a simulation run. In addition, the features also include the important tasks of analyzing the input data to identify the best statistical distribution for each random element and generation of random variates from commonly used statistical distributions. The generic features also include a good source of random number generator as well as capabilities for statistical analyses of simulation results. Simulation is an evaluative and not a normative tool. The decision maker is often interested to find the best operating parameters of a system that requires use of optimization procedures. Organizational success relies heavily upon the organizations' approach to attain competitive advantage. In this context the utility of the labour force comes into sharper focus. The architecture, reputation, innovation etc, ensure distinctive capabilities of the organization and within the framework of formulating a value-added mechanism, the roles of the individuals appear to be prominent. This is so because it is the individuals who, within the nested architectural relationships of the organization, facilitate value-added articulations. So, collective and coherent work behaviours of the individual employees within the content, context, work design and process of the work determine the extent of organizational success and to this end, thereby, emotional labor produces far-reaching impacts over the sustenance of the organizational success within the time frame. There is no denial to the fact that building block of organizational success is its manpower and the efficiency of the individuals under work-led organizational sequences are being pushed only by the way employees can add value to organization-wide activities. In fact, the problems of dissonance between felt and displayed emotions in terms of the job characteristics evoke various job related problems that revolve around mental health of the labor force, affecting altogether the organizational performance and success. An interdisciplinary elective course entitled Lean Principles and Application educates students enrolled in engineering, business and human resource development degree programs about lean from different perspectives before the), enter the workforce. By providing students with the knowledge and skills to implement lean principles to solve real world problems, these future employees are prepared to add immediate value to their companies. In order to achieve this goal, a problem-solving learning component is implemented involving a semester long project where student teams conduct a lean analysis of a real-world manufacturing system or service system. The article discusses the use of descriptive statistics to identify bottlenecks in manufacturing systems as an alternative to simulation models based on identifying machines with upstream queue lengths or high utilization rates. According to the article, inter-departure time data and failure cycles can be used to identify bottleneck machines with fewer computations than other methods. The optimization of industrial systems through the reduction of machine repair and maintenance time, increases in machine reliability, and the improvement of buffers is described.
