Reactive perforating collagenosis is a rare cutaneous disorder of unknown etiology. We hereby describe a case of acquired reactive perforating collagenosis in a patient of diabetes and chronic renal failure.

Lymphoid malignancies (LM) are a heterogeneous group of tumours. The relative frequencies of the various types of LMs vary across geographic regions. The pattern in India shows significant differences from the rest of the world. As India is a vast country, we set out to investigate whether there are regional differences in the relative frequencies of the various LMs. A total of 562 LMs from three different regions in India--Barshi (western India, 102 cases), Pondicherry (southern India, 156 cases) and Jaipur (northern India, 304 cases) were analysed according to the WHO classification. The non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) to Hodgkin disease (HD) ratio was 6.28 in Barshi, 1.26 in Pondicherry and 2.27 in Jaipur. The frequency of HD's various subtypes did not significantly differ among the three regions. While T-cell NHLs constituted only 12.5% of NHLs at Barshi, they accounted for 31 and 27.5% of all NHLs at Pondicherry and Jaipur, respectively. There were also notable differences in the specific subtypes of NHL between the three different geographic regions in India.

A case of synovial sarcoma in the abdominal wall of a 50-year-old Iraq female is reported. The ultrastructure of the tumor has been studied. Eight other cases of synovial sarcoma in the abdominal wall which reported in the English literature up to 1978 have been reviewed. Synovial sarcomas in the abdominal wall tend to occur with a much greater frequency in females in contrast to such tumors in the extremities or the neck which tend to occur with a much greater frequency in males. No ultrastructure studies of abdominal wall synovial sarcomas could be found in the English literature. Ultrastructure characteristics of this tumor were similar to those arising in the usual sites and in the neck. However, the present study has indicated that the light and dark cells reported by earlier workers are not solely limited to the epitheloid areas but are also present in the spindle cell zones.

Sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis (SEP) was diagnosed in two men, one middle-aged woman, and a prepubertal girl, none of whom had been treated with beta-blockers, peritoneal dialysis, or peritoneal shunting. Idiopathic SEP has hitherto been reported mainly in adolescent females. It is hypothesised that in these patients, who were from two adjacent districts of Rajasthan, an aetiological factor was consumption of cereals infected with fungus that contained biologically active amines.

A case of benign chondroblastoma in the maxilla of a 13-year-old girl is reported. Twelve more such tumours in the cranial bones were found in the literature. These are reviewed and the histogenesis of the tumour in the cranial bones is discussed.
