Sufficient conditions are found for the correct and unique solvability of a class of third-order parabolic operator differential equations, whose principal parts have multiple characteristics, in a Sobolev-type space with exponential weight. The estimates for the norms of intermediate derivative operators are obtained and the relationship between these estimates and solvability conditions is established. Besides, the connection is found between the order of exponential weight and the lower bound for the spectrum of abstract operator appearing in the principal part of the equation.

Abstract The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has revolutionized healthcare by bringing real-time monitoring and data-driven treatments. Nevertheless, the security of communication between IoMT devices and servers remains a huge problem because of the inherent sensitivity of the health data and susceptibility to cyber threats. Current security solutions, including simple password-based authentication and standard Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) approaches, typically do not achieve an appropriate balance between security and low computational overhead, resulting in the possibility of performance bottlenecks and increased vulnerability to attacks. To overcome these limitations, we present an intelligent two-phase dual authentication framework that improves the security of sensor-to-server communication in IoMT environments. During the registration phase, our framework is based on Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) for rapid key exchange, and during real-time communication, our framework uses the Advanced Encryption Standard Galois Counter Mode (AES-GCM) to encrypt data securely. The efficiency of the proposed framework was rigorously tested through simulations that evaluated encryption-decryption time, computational cost, latency, and packet delivery ratio. The security resilience was also evaluated against man-in-the-middle, replay, and brute force attacks. The results show that encryption/decryption time is reduced by over 45%, overall computational cost by 45.38%, and latency by 28.42% over existing approaches. Furthermore, the framework achieved a high packet delivery ratio and strong defense against cyber threats for maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of the medical data across IoMT networks. However, the dual authentication approach doesn’t affect the functionality of medical IoT devices while enhancing IoMT security, which makes it an ideal integration option for existing healthcare systems.

Abstract Steganography is used to hide sensitive types of data including images, audio, text, and videos in an invisible way so that no one can detect it. Image-based steganography is a technique that uses images as a cover media for hiding and transmitting sensitive information over the internet. However, image-based steganography is a challenging task due to transparency, security, computational efficiency, tamper protection, payload, etc. Recently, different image steganography methods have been proposed but most of them have reliability issues. Therefore, to solve this issue, we propose an efficient technique based on the Least Significant Bit (LSB). The LSB substitution method minimizes the error rate in the embedding process and is used to achieve greater reliability. Our proposed image-based steganography algorithm incorporates LSB substitution with Magic Matrix, Multi-Level Encryption Algorithm (MLEA), Secret Key (SK), and transposition, flipping. We performed several experiments and the results show that our proposed technique is efficient and achieves efficient results. We tested a total of 165 different RGB images of various dimensions and sizes of hidden information, using various Quality Assessment Metrics (QAMs); A name of few are; Normalized Cross Correlation (NCC), Image Fidelity (IF), Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Quality Index (QI), Correlation Coefficient (CC), Structural Similarity Index (SSIM), Mean Square Error (MSE), Entropy, Contrast, and Homogeneity, Image Histogram (IH). We also conducted a comparative analysis with some existing methods as well as security analysis which showed better results. The achieved result demonstrates significant improvements over the current state-of-the-art methods.

In the paper we find sufficient conditions on the coefficients of a class of third order quasi-elliptic operator pencils providing the completeness of the part of eigen and associated vectors in a separable Hilbert space. The completeness of the system of decreasing elementary solutions of the corresponding homogeneous equation in the space of solutions of this equation is proved. Introduction: There are several clinical manifestations of celiac disease, an autoimmune enteropathy caused by gluten intake, including extra-intestinal and gastrointestinal symptoms. Although it is linked to dilated cardiomyopathy and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, it rare for children with celiac disease to have these disorders concurrently. Case presentation: We describe the case of a five-year-old boy with biopsy-confirmed celiac disease who had chronic diarrhea, vomiting, and failure to grow properly despite strictly following a gluten-free diet. Investigations revealed severe deficiency of pancreatic enzymes and dilated cardiomyopathy. Treatment with pancreatic enzyme supplement resulted in significant improvement on follow up. Clinical discussion: Celiac disease is characterized by various clinical features which may involve cardiovascular problems. However, the occurrence of both exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and dilated cardiomyopathy in children with celiac disease is extremely uncommon. There is limited evidence regarding the use of pancreatic enzyme supplements in the treatment of such patients; however, our patient recovered with this treatment unexpectedly. Conclusion: This case highlights the significance of considering uncommon coexisting conditions in children with celiac disease who display atypical symptoms, this is crucial because it can result in life-threatening situations. Consequently, it is essential to promptly identify and treat conditions such as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and dilated cardiomyopathy and screen these patients for celiac disease in order to enhance patient outcomes.

Abstract Underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) are an emerging research area that is rapidly gaining popularity. However, it has several challenges, including security, node mobility, limited bandwidth, and high error rates. Traditional trust models fail to adapt to the dynamic underwater environment. Thus, to address these issues, we propose a dynamic trust evaluation and update model using a modified decision tree algorithm. Unlike baseline methods, which often rely on static and generalized trust evaluation approaches, our model introduces several innovations tailored specifically for UWSNs. These include energy-aware decision-making, real-time adaptation to environmental changes, and the integration of multiple underwater-specific factors such as water currents and acoustic signal properties. Our model enhances trust accuracy, reduces energy consumption, and lowers data overhead, achieving a 96% accuracy rate with a 2% false positive rate. Additionally, it outperforms baseline models by improving energy efficiency by 50 mW and reducing response time to 20 ms per packet. These innovations demonstrate the proposed model’s effectiveness in addressing the unique challenges of UWSNs, ensuring both security and operational efficiency goals. The proposed model effectively enhances the trust evaluation process in UWSNs, providing both security and operational benefits. These key findings validate the potential of integrating modified decision tree algorithms to improve the performance and sustainability of UWSNs.

Background: Respiratory viral infections strain healthcare globally, accounting for 15% of encounters in the UAE. However, seasonal prevalence in the region remains unclear. This hospitalbased study aims to understand viral causes of upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) in children under 13, focusing on influenza and RSV. Methods: We conducted a retrospective chart review at Hatta Hospital in Dubai, collecting data from pediatric patients under 13 years old with URTI diagnoses from 2022 to 2023. Nasopharyngeal aspirate samples were analyzed using a multiplex chain reaction (mPCR) assay to identify viral pathogens. Data were collected from the hospital’s emergency department, walk-in clinic, and admitted patients. Results: During the study period, 2714 samples were analyzed, with 1870 (69%) testing positive for any respiratory pathogen. Most infected individuals were males (56.7%), aged between 1 and 3 years (37.9%). Single viral infections were predominant (85.3%), with 27.3% attributed to Human Enterovirus/Rhinovirus, 26.6% to Influenza A, and 10.2% to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The RSV season was observed to span from August to December, peaking in October, while Influenza A had semi-seasonal peaks in June and October. Hospital admissions varied significantly between single (21%) and multiple viral infections (27%). Of 340 children hospitalized with single viral infections, 28.2% were infected with Human Enterovirus/Rhinovirus, 16.7% with RSV, and 13.5% with Influenza A. Conclusion: The study provides insights into viral epidemiology among children in the UAE, highlighting the high prevalence and seasonal peaks of viral pathogens. Awareness of these trends can reduce unnecessary streptococcal testing and antibiotic overuse. Understanding the seasonal patterns aids in optimizing prophylactic measures and vaccination strategies for RSV and influenza, benefiting high-risk infants and children.

The reservoir characterization of Lower Qamchuqa (Shu'aiba) Formation (Aptian) is studied at the well BH-86 of Bai- Hassan Oilfield in Kirkuk area, Northern Iraq. The lithological study (of 91 thin sections) revealed that the formation consists of shaly limestone, a thin bed of marl within the limestone, and dolomitic limestone. Four petrographic microfacies were noticed Lime mudstone microfacies, Dolomudstone microfacies, Lime wackestone microfacies, subdivided into benthonic foraminifera lime wackestone submicrofacies and bioclasts lime wackestone submicrofacies, and the last microfacies is the Lime packstone microfacies, which is subdivided into pelloidal lime packstone submicrofacies and Orbitolina lime packstone microfacies. Shale content is calculated from the gammary log, showing that the formation is mainly of low shale content (less than 35%). The porosity determined from sonic, density, and neutron logs reflect that the range between <1 and 15% and in some intervals about 6% is secondary porosity type. The estimated permeability ranges between <0.01 and 2.0mD, reflecting low permeability. The formation is subdivided into six reservoir units according to the shale content, average porosity, and permeability. The unit RU-5 has the best reservoir properties among the identified units with an average shale content of about 3.15%, about 6.2% porosity, and about 1.75mD average permeability. On the other hand, the least reservoir property is noticed in the unit RU-1 with average 9.48% shale content, 3.64% porosity, and 0.5mD average permeability. The research indicates that the fractures contribute to the flow within the Lower Qamchuqa Formation. Fluids flow through the formation in four unique Hydraulic Flow Units (HFU). Only about 8% of the gross 146m of the formation is expected to have the required reservoir properties for oil production and about 68% for gas production. The actual productive thickness for oil is only about 2.8% of the gross thickness of the studied section, and it’s more than 50% of the gross thickness for gas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Intermediate care units (IMCUs) serve as step-up units for emergency department patients and as step-down units for critically ill patients transferred from intensive care units. This study compares four critical illness scores for assessment of acutely ill patients and their accuracy in predicting mortality in patients admitted to IMCU.

In the novels of Tahsin Germiyani, who stands out as a narrator and novelist, dialogue was a basic technique for artistic work. Because he used the art of dialogue in a unique way to carry out communication and understanding and to fictionalize events. Such that Tahsin Germiyani's novels are considered to fill a gap in this aspect, especially in Iraq and in the Arab world in general .What makes him important is the writers he read and was influenced by. Such that when we look at his works, this effect is noticeable. Rather than a reflection, this influence manifests itself in a new and different form with internalization. The new work now contains in itself his character, is far from alienation, and becomes compatible with the culture and values of the society in which he lives. It is possible to see this situation not only in dialogues, but also in the whole structure of the work. Tahsin Germiyani has written 7 novels. However, in this study, we will focus on his three novels (al-Huznu'l-vesim, Evladu'l-Yahudiyye and Zaknemut) to reveal how the dialogue is used as a technique. After giving basic information about the concept of dialogue and Tahsin Germiyani's life and works, we will try to reveal how he used dialogue in these three novels that we will take as a field of application and his artistic connections in the storylines. Germiyani used both forms of dialogues in different stages. In his novel Zaknemut, he performed the internal dialogue mostly in the forms of monologue, pleading and reaction. While the external dialogue is mostly includedin the novel al-Huznu'l-Vesim, he used both dialogues to convey his thoughts, to effectively present his reaction and his opinionson the social phenomena in Iraqi society. Because he wanted to bring to light the mistakes and deficiencies that he saw and experienced in the society. He did this with an artistic task, by describing situations that trigger interpersonal conflict, sometimes using the inner and external dialogues of the protagonists and sometimes of the deuteragonists. One of his prominent features during this fiction is hisability to make the dialogues more vivid and permanent in the mind of the reader by using the cinema technique and to make the reader a partner in this fiction. We also witness that he makes this ability more effective by using the folkspeech. We will try to put forward the relevant issues practically within the framework of his 3 novels.

Recently, a few studies have presented the problem of estimation of the mean for a finite homogenous population considering the joint influence of non-response and measurement errors and following the assumption that population mean of auxiliary variable is available. However, in real situations the population under observation may not be homogeneous and population mean of the auxiliary variable may also not be available. Therefore, in this study, we present new estimators which are the generalized form of the difference-cum-exponential type estimator of the finite population mean in the presence of non-response and measurement errors in two-phase simple random sampling and stratified random sampling. The expressions for mean square error and bias of the proposed estimators are shown under the first order approximation in each sampling design. Theoretically, it has been shown that the proposed estimators are more efficient than some existing estimators in both sampling designs. A numerical study has also been carried out using two different simulated populations under simple random sampling designs as well as under stratified random sampling design to support the theoretical results. Numerical results show that the proposed estimators perform more efficiently than some modified versions of the existing estimators in both sampling designs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effect of Cementation Exponent has been investigated on the calculated water and hydrocarbon saturations and the estimated oil initially in place. The Aptian Lower Qamchuqa (Shua'iba) Formation from the well BH-96, Bai Hassan Oilfield, is used as a case study. Four different values of Cementation Exponent were applied in calculating water saturation using the Archie equation. The static value of 2 commonly used for carbonate reservoirs was one of the cases used to calculate an average of 68% water saturation. In the second case, the value of 1.81 is used for m based on the average m values obtained through testing 22 core samples in the laboratory. The average of 60.5% Sw was calculated for the studied part of the Lower Qamchuqa Formation in this case. The Pickett plot method was used as a third case, and 1.65 was estimated as the m value through which the average of 54% Sw was calculated. In the fourth case, variable values of m were used for the different depth intervals from which core samples were tested in the laboratory. In this case, the calculated average water saturation was equal to 60%. The upper part of the studied section was generally of low porosity and high water saturation, whereas the middle and the lower parts contained hydrocarbons with different saturations. Using shale content, porosity, permeability, and water saturation cutoffs for the four different cases, the net to gross pay ratios were calculated. The ratios ranged between 56.5% in the case of using the 1.65 value of m and 47.6% in the case of using variable core tested m values, and accordingly, the difference of about 4 m in net thickness is expected to be underestimated or overestimated, respectively, when is calculated.

The major aim of this study is to develop the new class of coumarin candidate clubbed with dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile with an improved potency as an antimicrobial and antioxidant agent. The key intermediate 6-nitro-4-methyl coumarin-yl chloro acetate 5 have been linked to the 6-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-oxo-4-phenyl-1,2-dihydro pyridine-3-carbonitrile IIa-j derivative to afford 4-methyl-6-nitro-2-oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl-2-(3-cyano-6-(4-fluoro phenyl)-4-(substituted-phenyl) pyridin-2-yl-oxy) acetates 7a-j via efficient organic transformations. All the new derivatives have been characterized by spectral studies (IR, 1H and 13C NMR and mass spectroscopy). In vitro antimicrobial activity have been carried out using the broth microdilution method and antioxidant potency using DPPH bioassays. Bioassay results reveal that compound 7e are equipotent against E. coli with MIC value 50 µg/mL compared to standard drug ciprofoloxacin. A final analogue 7c with 4-chlorophenyl substituent indicated better antifungal potency against C. albicans with MIC value 100 µg/mL compared to standard drug griseofulvin. In addition, newly synthesized analogues have been found to be significant scavengers of DPPH radical with IC50 values of 32.11 µg/mL. It has been observed that the potent antibacterial candidate has proved to possess significant antioxidant activity. The presence of chlorine and hydroxy group on phenyl ring plays an important role for the potency in above mentioned biological assay. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
