Two-dimensional (2D) nanocrystals are promising for optoelectronic and microelectronic technologies. However, the performance of 2D nanocrystal light-emitting diodes (LEDs) remains limited. Here, exciton dynamics are rationally controlled by both shell engineering and device engineering, obtaining colloidal quantum well LEDs (CQW-LEDs) with superior performance. The formation of CQW films on charge transport layers shows an excellent photoluminescence quantum yield of 76.63%. An unreported relationship among Auger lifetime, electron confinement energy, and external quantum efficiency (EQE) in 2D nanocrystal devices is directly observed. The optimized CQW-LEDs possess a maximum power efficiency of 6.04 lm W−1 and a current efficiency of 9.20 cd A−1, setting record efficiencies for 2D nanocrystal red LEDs. Additionally, a remarkable EQE of 13.43% has been achieved, accompanied by an exceptionally low efficiency roll-off. Significantly, EQE for flexible CQW-LEDs is 42-fold higher than the previous best results. Furthermore, active-matrix CQW-LEDs on printed circuit boards are developed. The findings not only unlock new possibilities for controlling exciton dynamics but also provide an alternative strategy to achieve high-performance 2D nanocrystal based applications. In this paper, we reported the realization of fully printed flexible ultra-low voltage single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) thin film transistors (TFTs) and CMOS inverters at temperatures lower than 170 °C using ionic liquid (IL) crosslinked-poly(4-vinylphenol) as the composite solid state electrolyte dielectric layer. Optimized fully printed p-type SWCNT-TFTs exhibited good performance with an average field effect mobility of 6.6 cm2 V−1 s−1, an ON/OFF ratio above 106, a small hysteresis (100 mV), and a subthreshold swing (SS) as low as 95 mV dec−1 at low operating gate voltages (±0.75 V). Converting the polarity from p-type into n-type using epoxy amine inks enables us to fabricate fully printed low-voltage SWCNT CMOS inverters. The power dissipation could be decreased by decreasing the number of printing cycles of sc-SWCNT inks in device channels. The peak power dissipation of the resulting flexible CMOS inverters could reach 6 nW and VDD is down to 0.5 V along with a voltage gain of 10 and a maximum noise margin of 0.28 V (∼56% of VDD/2). To the best of the authors' knowledge, the voltage gain, noise margin and static power consumption values achieved in this work are the best values reported to date in the literature for fully printed SWCNT inverters. Semiconducting single‐walled carbon nanotubes (sc‐SWCNTs) are promising candidates for constructing high‐performance fully printed flexible thin film transistors (TFTs) and circuits. How to achieve highly dense and uniform SWCNT thin films on different substrates has become a key scientific issue for printed flexible carbon‐based electronics. In this work, a universal method to efficiently immobilize conjugated polymer‐sorted sc‐SWCNTs on different substrates using solution‐processable SiO2 thin film as the adhesion layer is developed. Fully printed top‐gate SWCNT TFTs are successfully constructed by combining aerosol jet and inkjet printing using silver electrodes and ionic liquid‐cross‐linkable‐poly(4‐vinylphenol) as metal contact electrodes and dielectrics, respectively. Consequently, the fully printed paper‐based SWCNT TFTs represent extraordinary mechanical flexibility and good electrical properties with high on/off ratio (higher than 105), small subthreshold swing (≈70 mV dec−1), and small hysteresis, as well as high carrier mobility (up to 10.8 cm2 V−1 s−1) at low gate voltages (±1 V). In addition, the resistor‐loaded fully printed paper‐based inverters are also achieved using printed carbon nanotube conductive lines as the loaded resistors, exhibiting relatively large gains (16 at VDD of 1 V) and excellent mechanical flexibility. In this paper, we developed a new method to construct flexible fully-printed all-carbon thin film transistors (TFTs) with excellent properties and highly sensitive ammonia (NH3) sensors via aerosol jet printing. Here, sorted semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes (sc-SWCNTs), carboxyl-functionalized single-walled carbon nanotubes (P3 SWCNTs) and printed ion gels were chosen as channel materials, printed source, drain and side-gate electrodes, and dielectric layers. Flexible printed side-gate TFTs showed high on/off ratios (∼106), good mobility (up to 9.8 cm2 V−1 s−1), low hysteresis and small subthreshold swings (∼80 mV dec−1) at gate voltages of ±1 V. As-prepared TFTs exhibited an extremely high response to NH3 (up to 346.73% within 11 s) with good selectivity, ultralow limit of detection (LOD) (21.35 ppb) and low power consumption (0.49 nW) at room temperature due to the strong adsorption and enrichment of NH3 gas by ionic liquids (ILs) in the ion gels and the signal amplification of printed ion-gel TFTs. Furthermore, all devices can withstand 10 000 times bending with a radius of 5 mm, displaying good mechanical flexibility due to the high mechanical properties of carbon nanotubes. Although lawsonite eclogite is predicted to be common at depth of ~ 45–300 km in subduction zones, it is rarely exposed at Earth's surface. In this study, we identified a lawsonite (pseudomorph)-bearing eclogite in Yuka terrane, North Qaidam UHPM belt. It is mainly composed of garnet, amphibole, clinozoisite, quartz and rutile with minor omphacite relics and talc. Petrographic investigation identified abundant rectangular- or rhombic- shaped mineral aggregates composed of polycrystalline clinozoisite or polyphase clinozoisite + paragonite ± phengite ± quartz and clinozoisite + amphibole ± quartz ± Na-rich plagioclase occurring in garnet porphyroblasts. The peculiar shape, mineral assemblages and reconstructed compositions of these aggregates show that they are pseudomorphs after lawsonite. Phase equilibrium modeling predicts that the lawsonite (pseudomorph)-bearing eclogite experienced a clockwise P–T evolution with a peak stage at 570 °C, 27 kbar, near the quartz–coesite transition boundary. Geochemical data show that the lawsonite (pseudomorph)-bearing eclogite has a MORB-like affinity with flat Chondrite–normalized rare earth element (REE) distribution patterns. Zircons from this sample have similar δ 18 O values (5.38 ± 0.10‰) with the normal mantle (5.3 ± 0.3‰), indicating that the protolith of the lawsonite (pseudomorph)-bearing eclogite is derived directly from mantle rock without continental crust contamination. The MORB-like character and zircon O isotopic composition of the lawsonite (pseudomorph)-bearing eclogite indicate that its protolith is likely to be an oceanic crustal slice. SIMS and LA–ICP–MS zircon U–Pb dating yielded a 436–438 Ma eclogite-facies metamorphic age for the lawsonite (pseudomorph)-bearing eclogite, similar to the continental subduction age of the North Qaidam UHPM belt, but did not obtain its protolith age. These data indicate that the protolith of the lawsonite (pseudomorph)-bearing eclogite may be either a piece of Proterozoic ocean that was emplaced in the active continental margin of the Qaidam block during the amalgamation of the Rodinia supercontinent, or the early Paleozoic oceanic crust in the transition zone between the Qilian Ocean and the Qaidam block. An integrated study including petrography, mineral chemistry, metamorphic P–T path modelling, and zircon U–Pb dating was conducted on a granitic gneiss and enclosed eclogite from South Dulan, North Qaidam UHP (ultrahigh-pressure) belt. The result shows that the granitic gneiss underwent a clockwise P–T path with a peak-P stage at 655–745°C, 30–34 kbar, and a subsequent peak-T stage at 815–870°C, 14–18 kbar, which is similar to the P–T estimates reported for coesite-bearing continental-type eclogites in this region. The enclosed eclogite resembles an olivine–pyroxene-rich cumulate in Qaidam block. It has a similar prograde P–T path with the country gneiss and experienced a peak-P stage of 682–748°C at 27–34 kbar. Zircon U–Pb dating yields an eclogite-facies metamorphic age of 447 ± 2 Ma for the granitic gneiss and 445 ± 6 Ma for the enclosed eclogite. These ages agree with metamorphic ages obtained from paragneisses (427–439 Ma), coesite-bearing continental-type eclogites (430–451 Ma), and UHPM (ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic) oceanic crust–mantle sequence (440–445 Ma) from South Dulan, as well as UHP eclogites, garnet peridotite, and gneisses from other units (460–420 Ma) within this belt reported by others. Similar metamorphic ages as well as P–T evolution documented in gneisses and intercalated eclogites imply that both rocks experienced a coeval UHP event. Summarizing all the published geochronology data, we argue that the North Qaidam UHP belt was mainly formed by continental deep subduction at ~460 to ~420 Ma. The UHPM oceanic crust-mantle sequence in South Dulan may represent oceanic lithosphere in the transition zone between oceanic and continental crust, which was dragged upward by the exhumed continental rocks after break-off of the dense oceanic crust. The North Qaidam is an Early Paleozoic UHP metamorphic belt located at the north margin of the Tibet plateau. Eclogites in this belt contain both continental‐and oceanic‐type ones. In which, the continental‐type eclogites have protolith ages of 750–850 Ma and WPB or CFB geochemical signatures and are believed to have formed in a continental rift or an incipient oceanic basin setting related to the breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent, their metamorphic ages (421–458 Ma) and P–T paths are comparable to their host gneisses; oceanic‐type eclogites have cumulate gabbro or E‐MORB geochemical signatures, their protolith and metamorphic ages are 510–516 Ma and 425–450 Ma, respectively(Zhang et al., 2008). Therefore, the North Qaidam UHP belt was thought to record the whole Neoprotoerozoic–Paleozoic Wilson cycle (Song et al., 2014). In this study, we reported three new kinds of eclogites: kyanite‐bearing eclogite, lawsonite pseudomorph‐bearing eclogite and double mineral eclogite. They occur as big lentoid blocks in regional granitic gneiss in the western part of the belt. Phase equilibrium modelling and zircon LA‐ICPMS U‐Pb dating show that all these three eclogites experienced a clockwise P–T path with peak metamorphic conditions close to or fall in the coesite stability field, and their peak metamorphic age were around 436‐439 Ma, similar to those continental‐type eclogites in this belt. But their protolith ages are between 1273 and 1070 Ma, and some of them recorded an amphibolite facies metamorphic age of 927 Ma, and geochemical data and zircon Lu‐Hf and O isotope analysis indicate these eclogites have features of present day N‐MORB. Combined with the existing results, we propose that the North Qaidam is a polycyclic composite orogenwhich recorded tectonic evolution of Mesoproterozoic ocean floor spreading, assembly and breakup of Rodinia supercontinent, Early Paleozoic oceanic deep subduction and subsequently continental deep subduction. The North Qaidam orogenic belt (NQOB) lies at the northeast margin of Tibet Plateau, between the Qilian massif to the north and Qaidam massif to the south. It consists of predominantly gneisses and marbles with minor eclogite and garnet peridotite, and is known as an Early Paleozoic continental deep subduction ultrahigh pressure (UHP) metamorphic belt in northwest China. Recently some studies suggest that the NQOB experienced oceanic deep subduction prior to the continental deep subduction. However, the records of ocean events are rarely preserved because of the complex multi‐stage transformation. Therefore, whether the Early Paleozoic ocean exists and the formation, nature and evolution of the Early Paleozoic ocean in North Qaidam are still in controversies. In this contribution, we report a new discovered SSZ‐type ophiolite suite in Kaipinggou area, the western segment of the NQOB. The ophiolite is mainly composed of peridotite, gabbro, basalt, boninite, andesitic porphyrite and plagiogranite. In which, the basalt and homogeneous gabbro are both enriched in LILE and depleted in HFSE, and display flat or LREE‐depleted REE patterns, similar to the MORB‐like geochemical characteristics of fore‐arc basalts; the boninite exhibits characteristics of fore‐arc boninites with high Si and Mg, but low Ti and Ca contents; the andesitic porphyrite is enriched in LILE but depleted in HFSE, similar to island arc magmatic rocks. Rock assemblage and their geochemical characteristics suggest that this SSZ‐type ophiolite was formed in fore‐arc setting of intra‐oceanic arc. The plagiogranite is a low‐potassium tholeiite metaluminous granite with low trace elements contents, slight enrichment of LREE, depletion of HREE and positive Eu anomaly; combining with ∊Hf (t) values (13.8–17.1) of zircons, the plagiogranite could be originated from partial melting of gabbros. LA–ICP–MS zircon U–Pb dating yielded the crystallization ages of 535±2 Ma, 513±3 Ma and 510±3 Ma for two cumulate gabbros and one homogeneous gabbro, respectively, and a formation age of 492±8 Ma for the plagiogranite. All these data suggest the existence of an Early Paleozoic ocean in the North Qaidam, and the initial subduction of the oceanic slab occurred earlier than 535Ma. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cucumber wilt, caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cucumerinum (FOC), is a soilborne disease that poses a significant threat to cucumber production, resulting in substantial yield losses. This study aimed to evaluate the biocontrol and growth-promoting effects of Bacillus velezensis, a highly active bacterial strain. In vitro assays revealed that B. velezensis F9 exhibited broad-spectrum antifungal activity against eight plant pathogenic fungi, with inhibition ratio ranging from 62.66% to 88.18%. Additionally, the strain displayed the ability to produce IAA (5.97 ± 1.75 µg/mL), fix nitrogen, produce siderophores, and form biofilms. In vitro growth promotion assays demonstrated that different concentrations of B. velezensis F9 significantly promoted cucumber seedling growth. Furthermore, two pot experiments revealed that the strain exhibited biocontrol efficacy against cucumber wilt, with disease control rates ranging from 42.86% to 67.78%. Notably, the strain significantly increased the plant height, fresh weight, and dry weight, with increases ranging from 20.67% to 60.04%, 40.27% to 75.51%, and 22.07% to 52.54%, respectively. Two field trials confirmed the efficacy of B. velezensis F9 in controlling cucumber wilt, with disease control rates of 44.95% and 33.99%, respectively. The strain effectively alleviated the dwarfing and wilting symptoms caused by the pathogen. Compared with the FOC treatment, the F9 + FOC treatment significantly increased the plant height, fresh weight, and dry weight, with increases of 43.85% and 56.28%, 49.49% and 23.70%, and 36.25% and 73.63%, respectively. Enzyme activity assays indicated that inoculation significantly increased SOD activity in cucumber leaves and neutral phosphatase, sucrase, and urease activity in rhizosphere soil. Correlation analysis revealed a negative correlation between the disease index and plant height, fresh weight, dry weight, and peroxidase activity, with correlation coefficients of −0.53, −0.60, −0.38, and −0.45, respectively. These findings suggest that plant height, fresh weight, and dry weight are significantly negatively correlated with the cucumber disease index, highlighting their importance as indicators for evaluating the biocontrol efficacy of B. velezensis F9. In conclusion, B. velezensis F9 is a highly effective plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium with excellent biocontrol potential, showcasing promising applications in agricultural production. The long prism/needle‐shaped polycrystalline quartz aggregates and square/parallelogram‐shaped singlephase quartz inclusions in omphacite and garnet of ultrahigh pressure eclogite were first discovered from the Jiangalesayi area, South Altyn UHP belt. Based on their morphology, these quartz inclusions are quartz paramorphs after stishovite. The minimum peak pressure of the eclogite is estimated to be >8–9 GPa at 800– 1000 °C based on the stability field of stishovite. This new evidence, together with previous stishovite exsolution microstructure in the gneiss from the same region, suggests an ultra‐deep subduction and exhumation of the South Altyn continental rocks to/from mantle depths in stishovite stability field. Evidence of ultra‐deep subduction of continental materials might be more common and diverse than previous thought. Exhumation of subducted continental rocks from≥300 km has been considered impossible because they are denser than mantle at these depths. How did the stishovite bearing continental rocks of the South Altyn exhumated? As we all know, the densities of stishovite (4.3 g/cm3) are much higher than coesite (2.9 g/cm3), and stishovite transforms into coesite with temperature increases. Density calculations were performed for subducted continental rocks along phase transition of stishovite to coesite, using the third‐order Birch‐Murnaghan equation of state based on mineral fractions obtained from experiments and Perple_X. The results show that the density of Siliceous rocks decrease remarkably, lower than the surrounding mantle in coesite stability field, whereas the density of Oligosiliceous and Silicon unsaturated rocks is higher than surrounding mantle. Thus, we propose that the thermal induced transformation could provide an initial driven force for the exhumation of ultra‐deep subducted silica‐enriched felsic continental rocks. Temperature increase could be derived from an increased geothermal gradient from convective mantle or mantle plume. In this study, AZ31/6013 composite sheets were produced via hot roll bonding and annealed to investigate microstructural evolution and mechanical properties at the interface. Using scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, electron backscatter diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy, interface microstructures were analyzed. Annealing at 400°C for 2 h resulted in the formation of two diffusion layers, each approximately 100 μm thick. The intermetallic compounds Al3Mg2 and Mg17Al12 exhibited elastic moduli of 68.649 GPa and 74.857 GPa, respectively, with Al3Mg2 demonstrating a higher average hardness (4.353 GPa compared to 4.157 GPa for Mg17Al12). Subsequent annealing at 200°C for 4 h led to improved tensile properties, achieving a peak strength of 176.7 MPa and an elongation of 19.1%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Radiation-induced skin injury (RISI) is a frequent and severe complication with a complex pathogenesis that often occurs during radiation therapy, nuclear incidents, and nuclear war, for which there is no effective treatment. Hyaluronan (HA) plays an overwhelming role in the skin, and it has been shown that UVB irradiation induces increased HA expression. Nevertheless, to the best of our knowledge, there has been no study regarding the biological correlation between RISI and HA degradation and its underlying mechanisms. Therefore, in our study, we investigated low-molecular-weight HA content using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and changes in the expression of HA-related metabolic enzymes using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction and a Western blotting assay. The oxidative stress level of the RISI model was assessed using sodium dismutase, malondialdehyde, and reactive oxygen species assays. We demonstrated that low-molecular-weight HA content was significantly upregulated in skin tissues during the late phase of irradiation exposure in the RISI model and that HA-related metabolic enzymes, oxidative stress levels, the MEK5/ERK5 pathway, and inflammatory factors were consistent with changes in low-molecular-weight HA content. These findings prove that HA degradation is biologically relevant to RISI development and that the HA degradation mechanisms are related to HA-related metabolic enzymes, oxidative stress, and inflammatory factors. The MEK5/ERK5 pathway represents a potential mechanism of HA degradation. In conclusion, we aimed to investigate changes in HA content and preliminarily investigate the HA degradation mechanism in a RISI model under γ-ray irradiation, to consider HA as a new target for RISI and provide ideas for novel drug development. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the clinical efficacy of antibiotic bone cement–coated implants compared with external fixations for treating infected bone defects. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 119 patients with infected bone defects in our hospital from January 2010 to June 2021, of which 56 were treated with antibiotic bone cement–coated implants and 63 were with external fixation. Results: The pre-operative and post-operative haematological indexes were tested to assess the infection control; the post-operative CRP level in the internal fixation group was lower than that in the external fixation group. No statistical significance was found in the rate of infection recurrence, loosening and rupture of the fixation, and amputation between the two groups. Twelve patients in the external fixation group had pin tract infection. In the evaluation of the Paley score scale, bone healing aspect revealed no significant difference between the two groups, while in the limb function aspect, antibiotic cement–coated implant group showed a much better score than the external fixation group (P = 0.002). The anxiety evaluation scale result also showed lower score in the antibiotic cement implant group (P < 0.001). Conclusions: Compared with external fixation, antibiotic bone cement–coated implant had the same effect on controlling infection and was more effective in recovering limb function and mental health in the first-stage treatment of infected bone defects after debridement. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to present a simple yet effective force control scheme for collaborative robots by addressing the problem of disturbance rejection in joint torque: inherent actuator flexibility and nonlinear friction. Design/methodology/approach: In this paper, a joint torque controller with an extended state observer is used to decouple the joint actuators from the multi-rigid-body system of a constrained robot and compensate the motor friction. Moreover, to realize robot force control, the authors embed this controller into the impedance control framework. Findings: Results have been given in simulations and experiments in which the proposed joint torque controller with an extended state observer can effectively estimate and compensate the total disturbance. The overall control framework is analytically proved to be stable, and further it is validated in experiments with a robot testbed. Practical implications: With the proposed robot force controller, the robot is able to change its stiffness in real time and therefore take variable tasks without any accessories, such as the RCC or 6-DOF F/T sensor. In addition, programing by demonstration can be realized easily within the proposed framework, which makes the robot accessible to unprofessional users. Originality/value: The main contribution of the presented work is the design of a model-free robot force controller with the ability to reject torque disturbances from robot-actuator coupling effect and motor friction, applicable for both constrained and unconstrained environments. Agricultural production, rural areas, and farmers are three key aspects of agriculture related to sustainable economic and social development in China. Rural development is a process of multi-participation, which involves actors from governments, village committees, villagers, rural economic cooperatives, enterprises, financing institutions, and non-government organizations (NGOs). Based on social network analysis (SNA), this article analyzes the social network structures and characteristics of various actors in different stages of rural development in Yanhe village, Hubei Province, China. The results show that both the village committee and villagers have great influence on rural development; NGOs are the leaders of rural environmental improvement; village cooperatives are the promoters of rural economic development; enterprises are the accelerators of rural construction and development. The study outlines the rural development model in Yanhe village where the village committee is the leader and multiple forms of participation and cooperation are present; there are excellent partnerships and communication mechanisms among the participants. The occurrence of outbreaks of Cronobacter strains causing necrotizing meningitis in China highlights the need for strain characterization and subtyping of this pathogenic species. A total of 43 Cronobacter isolates and five Enterobacteriaceae strains were used in this study. The strains were characterized using two molecular typing methods, including enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus sequence polymerase chain reaction ( ERIC- PCR) and sequence analysis of the gyrB gene. Genetic profiles of cluster analysis from these two molecular typing tests clearly showed that there was no close relationship between Cronobacter spp. and Enterobacteriaceae strains. Discriminatory index of ERIC- PCR typing for the 43 Cronobacter isolates and five Enterobacteriaceae strains was high ( D = 0.984) by Simpson's index of diversity based on the similarity value of more than 80% using Bio Numerics version 5.0. Sequence analysis of the gyrB gene was proven to be suitable for the phylogenetic analysis of the Cronobacter strains. These results demonstrate that ERIC- PCR combined with sequence analysis of the gyrB gene may be a reliable, rapid typing strategy for Cronobacter strains. Practical Applications Molecular typing of foodborne pathogenic bacteria has been shown as a useful tool for tracking the source of infection and detection of virulent strains, as well as for determining the geographical and host distribution of possible variants. ERIC- PCR provides rapid clustered results when a large number of Cronobacter spp. isolates need to be subtyped rapidly. Furthermore, partial sequence analysis of the gyrB gene was utilized to differentiate among the closely related isolates. The results of the current study suggest that ERIC- PCR in conjunction with the gyrB sequence analysis would provide a reliable and accurate typing strategy for Cronobacter spp. strains. We examined whether KB-R7943 reduced infarct size by attenuating apoptosis during reperfusion and also compared antiapoptotic effects of KB-R7943 and IPost. For this purpose, isolated rat hearts underwent 30-min global ischemia and 120-min reperfusion. Ischemic postconditioning (IPost) ( n = 15; three cycles of 10-s reperfusion/10-s ischemia or three cycles of 30-s reperfusion/30-s ischemia) and KB-R7943 ( n = 15; 1 μM KB-R at the onset of reperfusion or before ischemia) were compared with controls ( n = 12; ischemia-reperfusion only). Myocardial injury was determined by TTC staining, TUNEL assay and caspase-3 activity. AKT and eNOS phosphorylation were measured by immunoblotting. We found that IPost (10 s), Pre KB-R, and Reperf KB-R reduced infarct size (29 ± 4.1, 35 ± 5.0, 28.6 ± 3.4 %, respectively, vs. controls 46 ± 8.7 %; P < 0.05) and attenuated cell apoptosis (TUNEL-positive cardiomyocyte nuclei) in the myocardium ( P < 0.01). Moreover, IPost (10 s), Pre KB-R and Reperf KB-R significantly decreased caspase-3 activation caused by myocardial ischemia-reperfusion. However, IPost (30 s) did not show any effect on necrosis and apoptosis. Akt, eNOS phosphorylation, at 30 min of reperfusion/IPost-10 s was significantly higher than other groups. In conclusion, KB-R7943 was as effective as IPost in reducing necrosis and inhibiting apoptosis and it might be an ideal pharmacological agent to provide a more amenable approach to cardioprotection. Benzo (1, 2, 3)-thiadiazole-7-carbothioic acid S-methyl ester (BTH) is a novel synthetic elicitor capable of inducing disease resistance in many plants. Fruits were dipped in BTH at 100 mg/L for 10 min, and then stored at room temperature (22 ± 2 °C, relative humidity 55-60 %). The results showed that BTH significantly ( P < 0.05) reduced the lesion area of fruits inoculated with Trichothecium roseum and the natural disease incidence of fruits during storage at room temperature. The treatment effectively maintained cell membrane integrity and decreased the production of lipid peroxidation and malondialdehyde. BTH treatment markedly enhanced the accumulation of hydrogen peroxide, (HO) while decreased the rate of superoxide anion (O) production. Furthermore, BTH observably increased the activities of NADPH oxidase (NOX, EC1.6.3.1), superoxide dismutase (SOD, EC1.15.1.1), peroxidase (POD, EC1.11.1.7), ascorbate peroxidase (APX, EC1.11.1.11), and glutathione reductase (GR, EC1.6.4.2), while inhibited the catalase (CAT, EC1.11.1.6) activity. These results indicated that BTH treatment increased the disease resistance of muskmelon fruits by enhancing their antioxidant system activity after harvest, and suggested that postharvest treatment with BTH could be promising in reducing decay and reducing or/and substituting chemical fungicides to control postharvest diseases in fruits. A thermal–hydraulic performance analysis of a model coil for a 40-T hybrid magnet superconducting outsert being built at the High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was performed. The model coil was wound with a \Nb3\Sn cable-in-conduit conductor cabled in a 316LN jacket cooled with supercritical helium. The model coil, in combination with 7.5-T NbTi solenoid coils, will be capable of generating a 12-T central field. Only one cooling channel was used to cool the model coil due to its short length. Both the temperature margin associated with a given scenario and the quench propagation following an artificial disturbance are discussed. The thermal–hydraulic analysis of the temperature margin showed that there is a sufficient minimum temperature margin for 100-A/s current ramp rate under a 7.5-T background magnetic field. The quench analysis showed that the hot-spot temperature of the cable is about 60 K, which is less than the maximum allowable value of 150 K for 0.7-s delay time.
