Abstract Testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs) can be treated with cisplatin-based therapy. However, a clinically significant number of cisplatin-resistant patients die from progressive disease as no effective alternatives exist. Curative cisplatin therapy results in acute and life-long toxicities in the young TGCT patient population providing a rationale to decrease cisplatin exposure. In contrast to genetic alterations, recent evidence suggests that epigenetics is a major driving factor for TGCT formation, progression, and response to chemotherapy. Hence, targeting epigenetic pathways with “epidrugs” is one potential relatively unexplored strategy to advance TGCT treatment beyond cisplatin. In this report, we demonstrate for the first time that targeting polycomb demethylases KDM6A and KDM6B with epidrug GSK-J4 can treat both cisplatin-sensitive and -resistant TGCTs. While GSK-J4 had minimal effects alone on TGCT tumor growth in vivo, it dramatically sensitized cisplatin-sensitive and -resistant TGCTs to cisplatin. We validated KDM6A/KDM6B as the target of GSK-J4 since KDM6A/KDM6B genetic depletion had a similar effect to GSK-J4 on cisplatin-mediated anti-tumor activity and transcriptome alterations. Pharmacologic and genetic targeting of KDM6A/KDM6B potentiated or primed the p53-dominant transcriptional response to cisplatin, with also evidence for basal activation of p53. Further, several chromatin modifier genes, including BRD4, lysine demethylases, chromodomain helicase DNA binding proteins, and lysine methyltransferases, were repressed with cisplatin only in KDM6A/KDM6B-targeted cells, implying that KDM6A/KDM6B inhibition sets the stage for extensive chromatin remodeling of TGCT cells upon cisplatin treatment. Our findings demonstrate that targeting polycomb demethylases is a new potent pharmacologic strategy for treating cisplatin resistant TGCTs that warrants clinical development.

G0/G1 switch gene 2 (G0S2) is known to inhibit lipolysis by inhibiting adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL). In this report, we dissect the role of G0S2 in ER+ versus ER- breast cancer. Overexpression of G0S2 in ER- cells increased cell proliferation, while G0S2 overexpression in ER+ cells decreased cell proliferation. Transcriptome analysis revealed that G0S2 mediated distinct but overlapping transcriptional responses in ER- and ER+ cells. G0S2 reduced genes associated with an epithelial phenotype, especially in ER- cells, including CDH1, ELF3, STEAP4 and TACSTD2, suggesting promotion of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). G0S2 also repressed estrogen signaling and estrogen receptor target gene signatures, especially in ER+ cells, including TFF1 and TFF3. In addition, G0S2 overexpression increased cell migration in ER- cells and increased estrogen deprivation sensitivity in ER+ cells. Interestingly, two genes downstream of ATGL in fat utilization and very important in steroid hormone biosynthesis, HMGCS1 and HMGCS2, were downregulated in G0S2 overexpressing ER+ cells. In addition, HSD17B11, a gene that converts estradiol to its less estrogenic derivative, estrone, was highly upregulated in G0S2 overexpressing ER+ cells, suggesting G0S2 overexpression has a negative effect on estradiol production and maintenance. High expression of G0S2 and HSD17B11 was associated with improved relapse-free survival in breast cancer patients while high expression of HMGSC1 was associated with poor survival. Finally, we deleted G0S2 in breast cancer-prone MMTV-PyMT mice. Our data indicates a complex role for G0S2 in breast cancer, dependent on ER status, that may be partially mediated by suppression of the estrogen signaling pathway.

The potential effects of poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a recently emergent human and environmental health concern. There is a consistent link between PFAS exposure and cancer, but the mechanisms are poorly understood. Although epidemiological evidence supporting PFAS exposure and cancer in general is conflicting, there is relatively strong evidence linking PFAS and testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs). However, no mechanistic studies have been performed to date concerning PFAS and TGCTs. In this report, the effects of the legacy PFAS perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and the newer “clean energy” PFAS lithium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (LiTFSi, called HQ-115), on the tumorigenicity of TGCTs in mice, TGCT cell survival, and metabolite production, as well as gene regulation were investigated. In vitro, the proliferation and survival of both chemo-sensitive and -resistant TGCT cells were minimally affected by a wide range of PFOS and HQ-115 concentrations. However, both chemicals promoted the growth of TGCT cells in mouse xenografts at doses consistent with human exposure but induced minimal acute toxicity, as assessed by total body, kidney, and testis weight. PFOS, but not HQ-115, increased liver weight. Transcriptomic alterations of PFOS-exposed normal mouse testes were dominated by cancer-related pathways and gene expression alterations associated with the H3K27me3 polycomb pathway and DNA methylation, epigenetic pathways that were previously showed to be critical for the survival of TGCT cells after cisplatin-based chemotherapy. Similar patterns of PFOS-mediated gene expression occurred in PFOS-exposed cells in vitro. Metabolomic studies revealed that PFOS also altered metabolites associated with steroid biosynthesis and fatty acid metabolism in TGCT cells, consistent with the proposed ability of PFAS to mimic fatty acid-based ligands controlling lipid metabolism and the proposed role of PFAS as endocrine disrupters. Our data, is the first cell and animal based study on PFAS in TGCTs, support a pro-tumorigenic effect of PFAS on TGCT biology and suggests epigenetic, metabolic, and endocrine disruption as potential mechanisms of action that are consistent with the non-mutagenic nature of the PFAS class.

Testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs) are aggressive but sensitive to cisplatin‐based chemotherapy. Alternative therapies are needed for tumors refractory to cisplatin with hypomethylating agents providing one possibility. The mechanisms of cisplatin hypersensitivity and resistance in TGCTs remain poorly understood. Recently, it has been shown that TGCTs, even those resistant to cisplatin, are hypersensitive to very low doses of hypomethylating agents including 5‐aza deoxy‐cytosine (5‐aza) and guadecitabine. We undertook a pharmacogenomic approach in order to better understand mechanisms of TGCT hypomethylating agent hypersensitivity by generating a panel of acquired 5‐aza‐resistant TGCT cells and contrasting these to previously generated acquired isogenic cisplatin‐resistant cells from the same parent. Interestingly, there was a reciprocal relationship between cisplatin and 5‐aza sensitivity, with cisplatin resistance associated with increased sensitivity to 5‐aza and 5‐aza resistance associated with increased sensitivity to cisplatin. Unbiased transcriptome analysis revealed 5‐aza‐resistant cells strongly downregulated polycomb target gene expression, the exact opposite of the finding for cisplatin‐resistant cells, which upregulated polycomb target genes. This was associated with a dramatic increase in H3K27me3 and decrease in DNMT3B levels in 5‐aza‐resistant cells, the exact opposite changes seen in cisplatin‐resistant cells. Evidence is presented that reciprocal regulation of polycomb and DNMT3B may be initiated by changes in DNMT3B levels as DNMT3B knockdown alone in parental cells resulted in increased expression of H3K27me3, EZH2, and BMI1, conferred 5‐aza resistance and cisplatin sensitization, and mediated genome‐wide repression of polycomb target gene expression. Finally, genome‐wide analysis revealed that 5‐aza‐resistant, cisplatin‐resistant, and DNMT3B‐knockdown cells alter the expression of a common set of polycomb target genes. This study highlights that reciprocal epigenetic changes mediated by DNMT3B and polycomb may be a key driver of the unique cisplatin and 5‐aza hypersensitivity of TGCTs and suggests that distinct epigenetic vulnerabilities may exist for pharmacological targeting of TGCTs.

Background: Aortic stiffening is a well-known cardiovascular risk factor. Computed tomography (CT) has proven to be a valuable tool in the assessment of aortic elastic properties. Drugs that inhibit the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) play a central role in cardioprotective therapy. We aimed to evaluate the relationship between aortic elastic properties and RAS-targeted therapy in hypertensive patients. Methods: This is an observational prospective study of hypertensive patients with nonobstructive coronary artery disease who underwent coronary CT angiography (CCTA). Aortic compliance and distensibility were calculated from the ECG-gated CCTA image. Patients were divided into two groups − those with RAS-targeted therapy − RAS(+) and those with non-RAS-targeted therapy − RAS(−). The elastic properties of the aorta were compared between the two groups. Results: A total of 142 patients were included in the final analysis. 53.5 % of the population were in the RAS(+) group and 46.5 % in the RAS(−) group. Elastic properties of ascending and descending aorta were significantly higher in the RAS(+) group compared to the RAS(−) group: AA compliance 1.42 ± 0.75 mm2/mmHg in the RAS(+) vs 1.03 ± 0.91 mm2/mmHg in the RAS(−), p = 0.024; AA distensibility 2.86 ± 1.11 x10-3mm3 in the RAS(+) vs 1.82 ± 0.97 x10-3mm3 in RAS(−), p

Abstract Electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction in aqueous electrolytes is a promising route to produce added-value chemicals and decrease carbon emissions. However, even in Gas-Diffusion Electrode devices, low aqueous CO2 solubility limits catalysis rate and selectivity. Here, we demonstrate that when assembled over a heterogeneous electrocatalyst, a film of nitrile-modified Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) acts as a remarkable CO2-solvation layer that increases its local concentration by ~27-fold compared to bulk electrolyte, reaching 0.82 M. When mounted on a Bi catalyst in a Gas Diffusion Electrode, the MOF drastically improves CO2-to-HCOOH conversion, reaching above 90% selectivity and partial HCOOH currents of 166 mA/cm2 (at −0.9 V vs RHE). The MOF also facilitates catalysis through stabilization of reaction intermediates, as identified by operando infrared spectroscopy and Density Functional Theory. Hence, the presented strategy provides new molecular means to enhance heterogeneous electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction, leading it closer to the requirements for practical implementation.

Simple Summary: Poly- and perfluoroalkylated substances (PFAS) are industrial chemicals found in many household products that persist in the environment. While several excellent review articles exist on the potential harmful effects of PFAS, there are few focused on cancer. This concise and streamlined mini-review focuses on summarizing molecular mechanisms related to the potential cancer-promoting properties of PFAS. This review organizes and interprets the vast primary PFAS cancer biology literature and provides a coherent, unified, and digestible model of the molecular mechanisms that potentially explains PFAS cancer promotion. Poly- and perfluoroalkylated substances (PFAS) are chemicals that persist and bioaccumulate in the environment and are found in nearly all human populations through several routes of exposure. Human occupational and community exposure to PFAS has been associated with several cancers, including cancers of the kidney, testis, prostate, and liver. While evidence suggests that PFAS are not directly mutagenic, many diverse mechanisms of carcinogenicity have been proposed. In this mini-review, we organize these mechanisms into three major proposed pathways of PFAS action—metabolism, endocrine disruption, and epigenetic perturbation—and discuss how these distinct but interdependent pathways may explain many of the proposed pro-carcinogenic effects of the PFAS class of environmental contaminants. Notably, each of the pathways is predicted to be highly sensitive to the dose and window of exposure which may, in part, explain the variable epidemiologic and experimental evidence linking PFAS and cancer. Abstract Background The commercial sector plays a vital role in mosquito net ownership and access in Tanzania. The National Malaria Strategic Plan (NMSP) includes long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLIN) delivery through the commercial sector as a complementary mechanism. The NMSP aims to increase LLIN sales while decreasing untreated mosquito net sales. This survey aimed to track quantities, market share of different net categories, prices, and origins of mosquito nets in retail markets and to engage stakeholders to analyse market trends. Methods This mixed-method mosquito net retail outlet survey was conducted in mid-2021 in six and in mid-2022 in eight regions. Field teams identified net-selling outlets in major urban and peri-urban markets and used snowball sampling to identify additional outlets. A structured questionnaire was used, and photos of available mosquito net products were taken. Key informant interviews were conducted with wholesalers and retailers. The relative market share of a product was calculated by using the mean of each sales category as frequency weights. Qualitative data analysis was undertaken by summarizing common themes and observations based on the research question. Results A total of 394 and 1139 outlets were surveyed in 2021 and 2022, respectively. More than 96% of distributed brands in both years were untreated nets. The market share for untreated mosquito nets was 99.2% in 2021 and 88.3% in 2022. Bed net sales were seasonal, peaking in the rainy season and at the start of the school year. Leaked LLINs from the public sector comprised 0.3% of the market share in 2021 and 8.3% in 2022. Kigoma markets had the most significant frequency of leaked LLIN products. Legitimate LLINs were rare in 2021 (n = 2) and not found in 2022, despite the presence of a local LLIN manufacturer. A small number (n = 3) of untreated nets fabricated in China claiming to be LLINs were observed in 2022. Conclusions Despite NMCP’s strategic approach to increasing retail market share for legitimate LLINs, significant challenges remain. Efforts are needed to change the current situation given the context of large-scale public sector distributions of LLINs, the higher consumer cost of LLINs, the lack of bed net varieties. Improvement of registration process is recommended.

Abstract Metal‐Organic Frameworks (MOFs) hold great potential to be used as porous (photo)‐electrocatalytic platforms containing large concentration of immobilized molecular catalysts. Indeed, the use of MOFs in a photo‐electrochemical devices was recently demonstrated. However, so far there are no reports of MOFs used for photo‐electrochemical O2 reduction to H2O2. Herein, we utilize a Co‐porphyrin based MOF (Co‐MOF‐525), that produces H2O2 at high faradaic efficiency (95 %), both electrochemically and photo‐electrochemically. Electrochemical characterization show that the active catalytic site is a MOF‐tethered Co(I)‐porphyrin. Additionally, under light illumination, the MOF's intrinsic catalytic rate is significantly accelerated compared to dark electrolysis conditions. Thus, this work could open a path for future implementation of photoactive MOFs in solar fuel schemes.

Abstract Background Since 2013, the National Malaria Control Programme in mainland Tanzania and the Zanzibar Malaria Elimination Programme have implemented mass insecticide-treated net (ITN) distribution campaigns, routine ITN distribution to pregnant women and infants, and continuous distribution through primary schools (mainland) and community leaders (Zanzibar) to further malaria control efforts. Mass campaigns are triggered when ITN access falls below 40%. In this context, there is a need to monitor ITN access annually to assess whether it is below threshold and inform quantification of ITNs for the following year. Annual estimates of access are needed at the council level to inform programmatic decision-making. Methods An age-structured stock and flow model was used to predict annual net crops from council-level distribution data in Tanzania from 2012 to 2020 parameterized with a Tanzania-specific net median lifespan of 2.15 years. Annual nets-per-capita (NPC) was calculated by dividing each annual net crop by mid-year council projected population. A previously fit nonparametric conditional quantile function for the proportion of the population with access to an ITN (ITN access) as a function of NPC was used to predict ITN access at the council level based on the predicted NPC value. These estimates were compared to regional-level ITN access from large household surveys. Results For regions with the same ITN strategy for all councils, predicted council-level ITN access was consistent with regional-level survey data for 79% of councils. Regions where ITN strategy varied by council had regional estimates of ITN access that diverged from the council-specific estimates. Predicted ITN access reached 60% only when “nets issued as a percentage of the council population” (NPP) exceeded 15%, and approached 80% ITN access when NPP was at or above 20%. Conclusion Modelling ITN access with country-specific net decay rates, council-level population, and ITN distribution data is a promising approach to monitor ITN coverage sub-regionally and between household surveys in Tanzania and beyond.

Abstract Background Threats to maintaining high population access with effective bed nets persist due to errors in quantification, bed net wear and tear, and inefficiencies in distribution activities. Monitoring bed net coverage is therefore critical, but usually occurs every 2–3 years through expensive, large-scale household surveys. Mobile phone-based survey methodologies are emerging as an alternative to household surveys and can provide rapid estimates of coverage, however, little research on varied sampling approaches has been conducted in sub-Saharan Africa. Methods A nationally and regionally representative cross-sectional mobile phone survey was conducted in early 2021 in Tanzania with focus on bed net ownership and access. Half the target sample was contacted through a random digit dial methodology (n = 3500) and the remaining half was reached through a voluntary opt-in respondent pool (n = 3500). Both sampling approaches used an interactive voice response survey. Standard RBM-MERG bed net indicators and AAPOR call metrics were calculated. In addition, the results of the two sampling approaches were compared. Results Population access (i.e., the percent of the population that could sleep under a bed net, assuming one bed net per two people) varied from a regionally adjusted low of 48.1% (Katavi) to a high of 65.5% (Dodoma). The adjusted percent of households that had a least one bed net ranged from 54.8% (Pemba) to 75.5% (Dodoma); the adjusted percent of households with at least one bed net per 2 de facto household population ranged from 35.9% (Manyara) to 55.7% (Dodoma). The estimates produced by both sampling approaches were generally similar, differing by only a few percentage points. An analysis of differences between estimates generated from the two sampling approaches showed minimal bias when considering variation across the indicator for households with at least one bed net per two de facto household population. Conclusion The results generated by this survey show that overall bed net access in the country appears to be lower than target thresholds. The results suggest that bed net distribution is needed in large sections of the country to ensure that coverage levels remain high enough to sustain protection against malaria for the population.

The purpose of this study was synthesizing mesoporous silica SBA-15 and investigated the effect of the initial temperature of the preparation surfactant using the hydrothermal process to synthesize silica SBA-15. Pluronic (P123) as surfactant template and TEOS as material precursor acted as a building block of the mesoporous silica material. Therefore, the interaction surfactant template and precursor during the hydrothermal process guided to silica SBA-15 properties. The results suggested that the physicochemical properties of these materials did not change significantly, but different condition temperature of surfactant and hydrothermal process affected the size of the specific surface area, pore volume, and pore size distribution. The largest specific surface area was 560 m² g-1, pore volume was 1.57 m³ g-1 and ordered pore size distribution around 11.24 nm after the initial temperature of the surfactant at 15°C and hydrothermal process at 100°C for 48 h. This resulted properties of SBA-15 are potentially applicable in various chemical and non-chemical based industries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Invasive hemodynamic assessment of cardiac diseases has become an important diagnostic tool in recent decades. Non-invasive methods are the main techniques used to assess cardiac function, due to their wider availability. Cardiac catheterization is useful when there are diagnostic problems that cannot be solved with routine methods. Cardiac catheterization should be individualized according to the specific problems of the patient and based on the results from non-invasive methods. Invasive diagnostics is used in the assessment of patients with various cardiovascular diseases, including cardiomyopathies. In this review, we consider the role of cardiac catheterization, its advantages and disadvantages as part of the overall assessment of patients with cardiomyopathies.

Cardiomyopathies are a heterogeneous group of diseases. The main pathogenetic mechanism is myocardial damage due to genetic mutations. Cardiomyopathies are one of the leading causes of heart failure, sudden cardiac death, and life-threatening arrhythmias. Certain factors associated with poor prognosis determined the prognosis in this group of patients. Survival in different types of cardiomyopathies depends on the time of diagnosis and initial treatment. The types of cardiomyopathies discussed in this review are hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilative cardiomyopathy, restrictive cardiomyopathy, left ventricle non-compaction, and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy.

Cardiac injury is a common condition among patients hospitalized with COVID-19, and it is associated with a higher risk of in-hospital mortality. Since the first data analyses in China, elevated cardiac troponin has been noted in a substantial proportion of patients, implicating myocardial injury as a possible pathogenic mechanism contributing to severe illness and mortality. Physicians need to pay heed to the possibility of myocarditis in cases of COVID-19. We present a first possible SARS-CoV-2 associated myocarditis case, confirmed by autopsy examination. The overlap with acute coronary syndrome, acute decompensated heart failure should be taken into consideration in the current state to COVID-19 epidemics.

Vegetables are horticultural crops that have a high market absorption. Modern market that is considered to have many advantages does not necessarily reduce consumers’ shopping interest at traditional markets. Traditional markets appear to have different characteristics and visitor segments from modern markets. This study aims to determine the level of consumers’ satisfaction of vegetables towards the marketing mix in the traditional markets in Sukoharjo. Data were processed using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method. The study was conducted from January to March 2019 with 80 consumers of vegetables as the respondents taken using quota sampling technique. CSI analysis was used to measure the level of customers’ satisfaction by calculating the rates of indicator performance attached to the items/services given by the consumers. Based on the CSI values, the result of the study conclude that consumers were satisfied with the services provided in traditional markets, which put priority on using family system to create convenient atmosphere of transactions.

The high surface area of mesoporous silica SBA-15 has been synthesized successfully by hydrothermal treatment with direct addition of PVA, triblock copolymer (P123) as a direct structure agent and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as a precursor. The mesoporous silica SBA-15 have been characterized with nitrogen physisorption, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy, and x-ray diffraction. Measurement of nitrogen sorption indicated that with the addition of PVA, the surface area is increased but the pore volume and pore diameter is not significantly. The short time of hydrothermal treatment (20 h) and using x-ray diffraction, showed that the morphological structure of silica SBA-15 can be changed to a orthorhombic crystal system. The result of the FTIR and SEM-EDX characteristic indicated the functional groups and morphology of the SBA-15 with a narrow pore size distribution. The BET method has exhibited the largest surface area 1726 m2/g, pore volume 1.4 cm3/g, and pore diameter 3.2 nm. It can be suggested that the silica mesoporous SBA-15 will have potential application prospect in catalysis, storage, and adsorbent.

Abstract This paper aims to design a database and protecting it using Oracle Language and MD5 algorithm for encryption for the Oil Products Distribution Company (OPDC) in Mosul. The study assumes “the possibility of establishing a scientific, applicable and secure database and protect it, in light of the OPDC data, organizational structure and information those internally certified. Three detectives on work: Oracle databases and Oracle language for structural and management of the data; the protection and the mechanism of action of secure cryptographic algorithm; the stages of the building for OPDC. The study reached conclusive results, the most important is that it could build databases and protect it. It has been tested and proven a successful operation in the demo application.

Pyrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass commonly produces syngas, a mixture of gases such as CO, CO 2 and H 2 , as well as an aqueous solution generally rich in organic acids such as acetate. In this study, we evaluated the impact of increasing acetate shock loads during syngas co-fermentation with anaerobic microbiomes at different pH levels (6.7 and 5.5) and temperatures (37°C and 55°C) by assessing substrates consumption, metabolites production and microbial community composition. The anaerobic microbiomes revealed to be remarkably resilient and were capable of converting syngas even at high acetate concentrations of up to 64 g/L and pH 5.5. Modifying process parameters and acetate loads resulted in a shift of the product spectrum and microbiota composition. Specifically, a pH of 6.7 promoted methanogens such as Methanosarcina, whereas lowering the pH to 5.5 with lower acetate loads promoted the enrichment of syntrophic acetate oxidisers such as Syntrophaceticus, alongside hydrogenotrophic methanogens. Increasing acetate loads intensified the toxicity of undissociated acetic acid, thereby inhibiting methanogenic activity. Under non-methanogenic conditions, high acetate concentrations suppressed acetogenesis in favour of hydrogenogenesis and the production of various carboxylates, including valerate, with product profiles and production rates being contingent upon temperature. A possible candidate for valerate production was identified in Oscillibacter. Across all tested conditions, acetate supplementation provided additional carbon and energy to the mixed cultures and consistently increased carboxydotrophic conversion rates up to about 20-fold observed at pH 5.5, 55°C and 48 g/L acetate compared to control experiments. Species of Methanobacterium, Methanosarcina and Methanothermobacter may have been involved in CO biomethanation. Under non-methanogenic conditions, the bacterial species responsible for CO conversion remain unclear. These results offer promise for integrating process streams, such as syngas and wastewater, as substrates for mixed culture fermentation allowing for enhanced resource circularity, mitigation of environmental impacts and decreased dependence on fossil fuels., (© 2024 The Author(s). Testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs) can be treated with cisplatin-based therapy. However, a clinically significant number of cisplatin-resistant patients die from progressive disease as no effective alternatives exist. Curative cisplatin therapy results in acute and life-long toxicities in the young TGCT patient population providing a rationale to decrease cisplatin exposure. In contrast to genetic alterations, recent evidence suggests that epigenetics is a major driving factor for TGCT formation, progression, and response to chemotherapy. Hence, targeting epigenetic pathways with "epidrugs" is one potential relatively unexplored strategy to advance TGCT treatment beyond cisplatin. In this report, we demonstrate for the first time that targeting polycomb demethylases KDM6A and KDM6B with epidrug GSK-J4 can treat both cisplatin-sensitive and -resistant TGCTs. While GSK-J4 had minimal effects alone on TGCT tumor growth in vivo, it dramatically sensitized cisplatin-sensitive and -resistant TGCTs to cisplatin. We validated KDM6A/KDM6B as the target of GSK-J4 since KDM6A/KDM6B genetic depletion had a similar effect to GSK-J4 on cisplatin-mediated anti-tumor activity and transcriptome alterations. Pharmacologic and genetic targeting of KDM6A/KDM6B potentiated or primed the p53-dominant transcriptional response to cisplatin, with also evidence for basal activation of p53. Further, several chromatin modifier genes, including BRD4 , lysine demethylases, chromodomain helicase DNA binding proteins, and lysine methyltransferases, were repressed with cisplatin only in KDM6A/KDM6B-targeted cells, implying that KDM6A/KDM6B inhibition sets the stage for extensive chromatin remodeling of TGCT cells upon cisplatin treatment. Objective: Chemotherapy is one of the most effective and widely used treatment types for breast cancer. The Ni(II) proline dithiocarbamate (Ni(II)ProDtc) complex has been synthesized as a potential anticancer agent with minimal systemic toxicity. The dithiocarbamate ligand, combined with the amino acid proline, holds promise as a radio chemotherapeutic target agent in tumors. The anticancer activity of a Ni(II) complex compound with a proline dithiocarbamate ligand was tested on the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line as part of a study on essential metal-based therapeutics., Methods: Molecular docking studies identified the active sites for the estradiol-estrogen receptor-α protein. The Ni(II)ProDtc complex was synthesized and characterized using melting point analysis, conductivity measurements, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and FT-IR spectroscopy. The cytotoxicity of the complex was evaluated in vitro using the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line., Results: The UV-Vis spectrum at 246 nm indicated the π→π* intraligand transition of the CS2 group, while FT-IR analysis revealed peaks at 364-457 cm-1 corresponding to the bonding between Ni and Sulfur (S) and Oxygen (O) from proline. Further, the UV-Vis spectrum displayed bands at 212 and 676 nm, and FT-IR data at 387-691 cm-1, confirming the coordination of the Ni(II) atoms with sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen in the isoleucine dithiocarbamate ligand. In vitro, cytotoxicity tests revealed that Ni(II)ProDtc induced cell death in the breast cancer cell line, showing significant morphological changes in MCF-7 cancer cells, with an IC50 value of 315.70 µg/mL., Conclusion: The Ni(II)ProDtc complex was successfully synthesized and demonstrates anticancer activity in MCF-7 breast cancer cells, indicating significant potential as an anticancer agent for breast cancer.

Cisplatin is a cancer medication widely used today, but it still poses some problems due to its toxic properties in the body. To overcome this issue, a new complex has been developed as a potential anticancer drug prospect by minimizing its toxic consequences. A novel Zn(II)IleDTC complex containing isoleucine dithiocarbamate ligands has been produced and analyzed using a range of analytical and spectroscopic methods. The Zn(II) IleDTC complex were characterized using various methods, including UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR, determination of melting point, conductivity, and HOMO-LUMO analysis. Furthermore, computational NMR spectrum analysis was conducted in this study. Molecular docking studies was conducted to evaluate the potential of Zn(II) isoleucine dithiocarbamate as an HIF1 inhibitor. The results showed that the Zn complex exhibited a good docking score of -6.6 and formed hydrogen bonds with ARG 17, VAL264, and GLU15, alkyl bonds with TRP27 and LEU32, and Pi-Alkyl bonds with PRO41 and ARG44. This suggests that the Zn(II) isoleucine dithiocarbamate complex could be a promising candidate for cancer treatment with potential HIF1 inhibition properties. To assess the dynamic stability and efficacy of protein-ligand interactions over time, molecular dynamics simulations was conducted for both individual proteins and protein complexes. The cytotoxicity evaluation of Zn(II) isoleucine dithiocarbamate against MCF-7 cells obtained an IC 50 value of 362.70 µg/mL indicating moderate cytotoxicity and morphological changes of cancer cells causing cancer cells to undergo apoptosis. The Zn(II) isoleucine dithiocarbamate complex may have promising potential as an anticancer compound due to its significant inhibitory effect on the breast cancer cell line (MCF7). Objective: Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and the second cause of death worldwide. The drug often used for chemotherapy is cisplatin. However, the drug cisplatin has a number of problems, including lack of selectivity, undesirable side effects, resistance, and toxicity in the body. So research is carried out on new drug compounds with low toxicity by designing in silico with molecular docking., Methods: Mn(II) Cysteine-Tyrosine dithiocarbamate is a new complex molecule whose research involves several steps, such as in-silico molecular docking testing with target proteins, ADMET then synthesis, characterization and in-vitro MCF-7 cells for anticancer drugs. The synthesis process involves the reaction of manganese metal with tyrosine, cysteine, CS2 and KOH. Characterization tests have been carried out including FT-IR spectroscopy, SEM-EDS, UV Vis, conductivity, melting point and XRD., Result: Confirm the structure of the compound using UV Vis, obtained orbitals π to π* and n to π* in the group N = C = S is represented by the absorption at 400 nm and 600 nm, FT-IR with the results obtained by the functional groups O-H, N-H, C =N and C=S. In vitro test results showed morphological changes (apoptosis) in MCF-7 cancer cells starting from 250 μg/mL and an IC50 value of 416.90 µg/mL. Molecular docking studies of the Mn(II)Cysteine-Tyrosine dithiocarbamate complex were identified with 4,4',4''-[(2R)-butane-1,1,2-triyl]triphenol - Estrogen α which showed an active site with amino acid residues GLU323, GLU385, VAL446, ILE514, TRP360, LYS449, MET388, MET357, PHE445, VAL392 and ILE389. Hydrophobic and hydrophobic bonds are seen in Mn(II)Cysteine-Tyrosine dithiocarbamate - Estrogen α has a bond energy of -77.5372 kJ/mol., Conclusion: Despite having a high H-bond interaction intensity, the chemical does not have a powerful enough anticancer impact. Despite the produced compound's low bioactivity, this study should offer important new understandings into how molecular structure affects anticancer activity.

Cancer is characterized by increased metabolic activity and vascularity, leading to temperature changes in cancerous tissues compared to normal cells. This study focused on patients with abnormal mammogram findings or a clinical suspicion of breast cancer, exclusively those confirmed by biopsy. Utilizing an ultra-high sensitivity thermal camera and prone patient positioning, we measured surface temperatures integrated with an inverse modeling technique based on heat transfer principles to predict malignant breast lesions. Involving 25 breast tumors, our technique accurately predicted all tumors, with maximum errors below 5 mm in size and less than 1 cm in tumor location. Predictive efficacy was unaffected by tumor size, location, or breast density, with no aberrant predictions in the contralateral normal breast. Infrared temperature profiles and inverse modeling using both techniques successfully predicted breast cancer, highlighting its potential in breast cancer screening.

Breast cancer is a non-communicable disease but dangerous for women, and research on anti-breast cancer drug compounds is being investigated. Mn(II)Prolinedithiocarbamate (MnProDtc) complex was synthesized and characterized in cytotoxicity and in silico assay by molecular docking. Dithiocarbamate ligand plays an important role as an anticancer agent. Melting point determination, conductivity, UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, XRD, and HOMO-LUMO have been studied. The binding of MnProDtc to cancer cells was examined by molecular docking, showing that the active sites of the MCF-7 strain, namely the protein O(6)-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT), caspase-8, and the estrogen receptor, bind to the complex. The results of the cytotoxic test of MCF-7 cancer cells undergoing apoptosis at a concentration of 37.50 μg/ml with an IC 50 value of 453.96 μg/ml showed moderate anticancer activity in MCF-7 cancer cells., (© 2023. In this work, we investigated Ni(II) cysteine-tyrosine dithiocarbamate complex against breast cancer., Methods: Research on the new complex compound Ni(II) cysteine-tyrosine dithiocarbamate have several stages including synthesis, characterization, in-silico and in-vitro testing of MCF-7 cells for anticancer drugs. The synthesis involved reacting cysteine, CS2, KOH and tyrosine with Mn metal. The new complex compound Ni(II) cysteine-tyrosine dithiocarbamate has been synthesized, characterized, and tested in vitro MCF-7 cells for anticancer drugs. Characterization tests such as melting point, conductivity, SEM-EDS, UV Vis, XRD, and FT-IR spectroscopy have been carried out., Result: The synthesis yielded a 60,16%, conversion with a melting point of 216-218 oC and a conductivity value of 0.4 mS/cm. In vitro test results showed morphological changes (apoptosis) in MCF-7 cancer cells starting at a sample concentration of 250 µg/mL and an IC50 value of 618.40 µg/mL. Molecular docking study of Ni(II) cysteine-tyrosine dithiocarbamate complex identified with 4,4',4''-[(2R)-butane-1,1,2-triyl]triphenol - Estrogen α showing active site with acidic residue amino E323, M388, L387, G390 and I389. Hydrophobic and hydrophobic bonds are seen in Ni(II) cysteine-tyrosine dithiocarbamate - Estrogen α has a binding energy of -80.9429 kJ /mol., Conclusion: there were 5 residues responsible for maintaining the ligand binding stable. The compound had significant Hbond contact intensity, however, it was not strong enough to make a significant anticancer effect. Though the synthesized compound shows low bioactivity, this research is expected to give valuable insight into the effect of molecular structure on anticancer activity.

Objective: Cervical cancer is a malignancy originating from the cervix and often caused by oncogenic Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), specifically subtypes 16 and 18. Anticancer drugs are chemotherapeutic compounds used for cancer treatment. Therefore, this research aims to synthesize and characterize Zinc (II) dichloroethylenediamine (Zn(en)Cl2) complex, as well as determine its antiproliferative activity against HeLa cells. The Zn(en)Cl2 complex was successfully synthesized, and the antiproliferative activity was tested., Methods: The synthesis involved reacting ethylenediamine and KCl with Zn metal. The complex formed was characterized using a conductometer, UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, and XRD, while the activity was measured against HeLa cells., Result: The synthesis yielded a 56.12% conversion with a melting point of 198-200 oC and a conductivity value of 2.02 mS/cm. The Zn(en)Cl2 complex showed potential activity against HeLa cells with an IC50 value of 898.35 µg/mL, which was evidenced by changes in the morphological structure of HeLa cells. Its interaction with DNA targets was investigated by employing molecular docking., Conclusion: The observed data indicated that the Zn(en)Cl2 complex bound to DNA at the nitrogenous base Guanine (DG) by coordinate covalent bonds. Interestingly, DG maintained interaction with the complex until the end of the docking simulation. Additionally, molecular dynamics (MD) simulation was conducted, and the results showed that Zn(en)Cl2 remained bound to the DNA binding pocket all through the process.

Objective: The new Mg(II) cysteindithiocarbamate complex drug has been synthesized by the in-situ method and tested for its anticancer activity in vitro., Method: Mg(II) cysteindithiocarbamate complexes were characterized using Ultra Violet Visible, Infra-Red, melting points, and molar conductivity., Results: The UV-Vis data of cysteindithiocarbamate Mg(II), shows that at 296 nm and 385 nm was occurred the electronic transitions π → π* and n → π* for CS2 and N =C =S. Whereas the IR data at wavelengths in the 393-540 cm-1 shows that there has coordinated between Mg(II) with Sulfur (S), Nitrogen (N), and Oxygen (O) atoms from cysteinedithiocarbamate ligands., Conclusion: The cytotoxicity test results showed that the Mg complex's cytotoxicity was higher than that of the cytotoxicity of the Mg metal without ligands, which means that the Mg complex can be developed as a potential new anticancer drug.

Breast cancer continues to be a major health issue for women all over the world. Cancer medications like cisplatin, which are widely used, still have negative side effects. The novel complex was created as a potential anticancer medication candidate that is both effective and safe, with few side effects. The Cu(II) complex using the prolinedithiocarbamate ligands was synthesized in situ. The Cu(II) complexes Characterization by UV-Vis, FT-IR spectroscopy and melting point determination, conductivity, and HOMO-LUMO were studied. Computational NMR spectrum analysis was performed. The interaction of Cu(II)prolineditiocarbamate complex with cancer cell target protein (MCF-7) was confirmed by molecular docking and molecular dynamic. The pharmacokinetic/ADMET properties were also performed on the complex. Results of the cytotoxic complex test against cancer cells (MCF-7) undergoing apoptosis with an IC50 value of 13.64 µg/mL showed high anticancer activity in MCF-7 cancer cells. The in-vivo data for Cu(II)prolineditiocarbamate complex was predicted using the Protox online tool with an LD50 value of 2500 mg/kg and belonging to the GHS toxicity class 5, which means the compound has a low acute toxicity effect. The Cu(II) prolineitiocarbamate complex may pave the way for the development of essential metal-based chemotherapy for the treatment of breast cancer.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Background: This study was carried out to synthesize a new complex of Fe(II) with isoleucine dithiocarbamate ligand and to determine its potential as an anticancer and antiviral agent for SARSCOV-2., Methods: The synthesized complexes were then characterized by UV-vis and FT-IR spectroscopy and their melting points. The value of the conductivity of the complex compound is also determined. Anti-cancer activity was tested in vitro and molecular docking. Its potential as an antiviral against SARSCOV-2 was also carried out by molecular docking. Pharmacokinetics/ADMET properties were also carried out on the complex., Result: Spectral results showed the successful synthesis of Fe(II) isoleucine dithiocarbamate complex. The complex produced UV-vis spectra at 268 and 575 nm, and the IR data at 399-599 cm-1 showed the coordination between the Fe(II) atoms with sulphur, nitrogen and oxygen of the isoleucine dithiocarbamate ligand. Fe(II) isoleucine dithiocarbamate had a cytotoxicity effect on the MCF-7 cell line (IC50 =613 µg/mL). The complex significantly caused morphological changes in the breast cancer cell line, finally leading to cell apoptosis., Conclusion: Cytotoxic test of Fe(II) isoleucine dithiocarbamate showed moderate anticancer activity on MCF-7 cancer cells and showed antiviral activity against SARSCOV-2 by interfering with spike glycoprotein -ACE2 receptors, and inhibiting major proteases and 3Clpro.

A new approach has been developed for environmentally friendly C-C cross-coupling reactions using bi-functional Pd(ii)-salen complex-embedded cellulose filter paper (FP@Si-Pd II -Salen-[IM]OH). A Pd(ii)-salen complex bearing imidazolium [OH] - moieties was covalently embedded into a plain filter paper, then used as an efficient portable catalyst for the Heck, Suzuki, and Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions under environmentally friendly conditions via the filtration method. The catalytic filter paper properties were studied by EDX, XPS, TGA, ATR, XRD, and FESEM analyses. The reactions were catalyzed during reactants' filtration over the catalytic filter paper. The modified filter paper was set up over a funnel and the reactants were passed through the catalytic filter paper several times. The effect of reaction parameters including loading of Pd(ii)-salen complex, temperature, solvent, and contact time were carefully studied and also the optimal model of conditions was presented by the design expert software. High to excellent yields were obtained for all C-C coupling types with 5 to 8 filtration times. Under optimal conditions, all coupling reactions showed high selectivity and efficiency. Purpose: Variations in the vessel radius of segmented surfaces of intracranial aneurysms significantly influence the fluid velocities given by computer simulations. It is important to generate models that capture the effect of these variations in order to have a better interpretation of the numerically predicted hemodynamics. Also, it is highly relevant to develop methods that combine experimental observations with uncertainty modeling to get a closer approximation to the blood flow behavior., Methods: This work applies polynomial chaos expansion to model the effect of geometric uncertainties on the simulated fluid velocities of intracranial aneurysms. The radius of the vessel is defined as the uncertainty variable. Proper orthogonal decomposition is applied to characterize the solution space of fluid velocities. Next, a process of projecting the 4D-Flow MRI velocities on the basis vectors followed by coefficient mapping using generalized dynamic mode decomposition enables the merging of 4D-Flow MRI with the uncertainty propagated fluid velocities., Results: Polynomial chaos expansion propagates the fluid velocities with an error of 2% in velocity magnitude relative to computer simulations. Also, the bifurcation region (or impingement location) shows a standard deviation of 0.17 m/s (since an available reported variance in the vessel radius is adopted to model the uncertainty, the expected standard deviation may be different). Numerical phantom experiments indicate that the proposed approach reconstructs the fluid velocities with 0.3% relative error in presence of geometric uncertainties., Conclusion: Polynomial chaos expansion is an effective approach to propagate the effect of the uncertainty variable in the blood flow velocities of intracranial aneurysms. Merging 4D-Flow MRI and uncertainty propagated fluid velocities leads to more realistic flow trends relative to ignoring the uncertainty in the vessel radius.

Introduction: Oxidative stress that occurs in preconception women can disrupt the reproductive system to cause infertility. The antioxidants contained in royal jelly can overcome oxidative stress due to low antioxidants in the body. The purpose of this study is to examine studies of the content of royal jelly, antioxidant activity, and the effectiveness of royal jelly in dealing with oxidative stress in preconception women., Method: This research method is an electronic database search using keywords according to questions in research from the online library PubMed, content science, and Science Direct., Result: a study review conducted in 6 research journals stated that the use of royal jelly as a supplement containing 10-hydroxy-2-decanoic (10-HDA) increases glutathione levels, as well as lipid peroxidation inhibitors., Conclusion: The effectiveness of royal jelly to overcome oxidative stress in preconception women can be assessed from the content of royal jelly and antioxidant activity that can increase the glutathione levels and inhibit increased lipid peroxidation, which is a sign of oxidative stress., (Copyright © 2021 SESPAS. Objective: This study is basic research carried out to measure the nutritional content of the honey cocktail product, an herbal therapy as a complementary treatment in addressing reproductive health problems and improving the nutritional status of preconception women. The purpose of this research is to know the ingredients in honey cocktail products., Method: The stage of this study is; choose a sample, processing honey cocktail, and testing the parameters. This study used three main raw materials, namely honey, royal jelly, and bee bread. The honey used is Trigona sp. The three primary raw materials used have been processed from the Halal Center of Hasanuddin University. Honey cocktail processing will use a mixture of 100g Trigona sp. honey, 100g royal jelly, and 100g bee bread, then be homogenized using a magnetic stirrer for ±15min. Honey quality testing is conducted to determine the nutritional content of the honey cocktail supplement, such as vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, sugars (sucrose and glucose), hydroxymethylfurfural, and metals, and water. This study also examined the metal contamination, ash, and fat level., Results: The results of the test content in the cocktail honey supplement found in 100ml containing 61.9g carbohydrates, 0.7g of protein, 2.3mg of phosphorus, 0.3mg of iron, 1736.27μg/g of potassium, as much calcium 48.35μg/g, 0.2mg of manganese, 0.04mg of fat content, and 2.84% of vitamin A. in addition, cocktail honey also contains 3.8% sucrose, 78% glucose, HMF 48.63mg/kg, Cu <0.01μg/g, PB 0.05μg/g, arsenic <0.01, acidity 49.62ml NaOH/kg, an ash content of 0.2%, and moisture content of 18.24%., Conclusion: The conclusion in this study cocktail honey samples meets the honey quality requirements following the Indonesian national standard. Objective: This study was aimed to determine the effect of ginger honey supplementation on cortisol, glutathione, and estrogen levels. The study was conducted on mice that had not yet experienced conception, and prior stress induction was carried out so that they could be continued for human trials at the preconception stage and subjects who experienced mild stress., Method: It was an in vivo study, pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this study was 2-3 months female Balb/c mice, divided into negative control and ginger honey intervention as much as 28mg/20g BW for 14 days-the ELISA method used to examine cortisol hormone, glutathione levels, and estrogen levels. The mice chosen were those that had never experienced conception, and before the intervention, swimming activities were carried out on the mice until they showed symptoms of stress., Results: Results show 42mg/20g BW of ginger honey administration for 14 days increased 1.892 ng/dl of cortisol (p = 0.165), increased 2.438 ng/dl of glutathione (p=0.002), and also increased 22.754ng/ml estrogen levels in induced stress Balb/c female mice (p=0.001)., Conclusion: Ginger honey did not affect reducing cortisol levels but increasing glutathione and estrogen levels significantly. Objective: Cocktail honey is derived from a mixture of honey (trigona sp.), bee bread, and homogeneous royal jelly. The material has a phenolic content rich in antioxidants that are beneficial for women's reproductive health, especially for pre-conception, because it can suppress the content of free radicals in the body. Antioxidants are useful to overcome oxidative damage due to free radicals in the body that prevent various diseases from increasing fertility during pre-conception., Method: This study used the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) test method using UV-vis spectrophotometry to express the value of free radical reduction activity as IC 50 (inhibitory concentration) values., Results: The DPPH test on cocktail honey products obtained an average yield of 4577.7μg/mL, which was included in the product category was very weak in the antioxidant activity content., Conclusion: The content contained in the honey cocktail contains weak bioactive content by assessing the antioxidant content using DPPH. The difference in the results of antioxidant activity tests using DPPH is caused by the test method and the conditions used in processing, homogeneous ingredients, solvent volume, extraction time, temperature, and pressure in product management., (Copyright © 2021 SESPAS. Background: With essential metals being studied and developed as anticancer agents, this study aims to explore the anticancer activity of Zn(II) arginine dithiocarbamate in the T47D and fibroblast cell lines., Method: The Zn(II) arginine dithiocarbamate complex was prepared by the in situ method and characterized using infra-red spectroscopy, melting point, X-ray fluorescence, and X-ray diffraction instruments. The complex compound was tested for its cytotoxicity to the T47D breast cancer and fibroblast cell lines., Results: The cytotoxicity of the Zn(II) arginine dithiocarbamate complex to the T47D breast cancer cell line obtained IC50 = 3.16 μg/mL, while cisplatin obtained IC50 = 28.18 μg/mL. The cytotoxicity of the Zn(II) arginine dithiocarbamate complex to fibroblast cells obtained IC50 = 8709.63 μg/mL., Conclusion: The Zn(II) arginine dithiocarbamate complex has increased active cytotoxicity compared to cisplatin in inducing morphological changes in the T47D breast cancer cell line and is relatively non-toxic to fibroblast cells.

Background and Objective: Time resolved three-dimensional phase contrast magnetic resonance imaging (4D-Flow MRI) has been used to non-invasively measure blood velocities in the human vascular system. However, issues such as low spatio-temporal resolution, acquisition noise, velocity aliasing, and phase-offset artifacts have hampered its clinical application. In this research, we developed a purely data-driven method for super-resolution and denoising of 4D-Flow MRI., Methods: The flow velocities, pressure, and the MRI image magnitude are modeled as a patient-specific deep neural net (DNN). For training, 4D-Flow MRI images in the complex Cartesian space are used to impose data-fidelity. Physics of fluid flow is imposed through regularization. Creative loss function terms have been introduced to handle noise and super-resolution. The trained patient-specific DNN can be sampled to generate noise-free high-resolution flow images. The proposed method has been implemented using the TensorFlow DNN library and tested on numerical phantoms and validated in-vitro using high-resolution particle image velocitmetry (PIV) and 4D-Flow MRI experiments on transparent models subjected to pulsatile flow conditions., Results: In case of numerical phantoms, we were able to increase spatial resolution by a factor of 100 and temporal resolution by a factor of 5 compared to the simulated 4D-Flow MRI. There is an order of magnitude reduction of velocity normalized root mean square error (vNRMSE). In case of the in-vitro validation tests with PIV as reference, there is similar improvement in spatio-temporal resolution. Although the vNRMSE is reduced by 50%, the method is unable to negate a systematic bias with respect to the reference PIV that is introduced by the 4D-Flow MRI measurement., Conclusions: This work has demonstrated the feasibility of using the readily available machinery of deep learning to enhance 4D-Flow MRI using a purely data-driven method. Unlike current state-of-the-art methods, the proposed method is agnostic to geometry and boundary conditions and therefore eliminates the need for tedious tasks such as accurate image segmentation for geometry, image registration, and estimation of boundary flow conditions. Arbitrary regions of interest can be selected for processing. Introduction: Cancer refer to genetic changes in the DNA structure accompanied by abnormal growth of normal cells, and resulting in the death of these structures, and is a disease currently recognized as a major cause of mortality globally. Chemotherapy plays important role in breast cancer management. Non-toxic metals have been developed to replace the highly toxic cisplatin, an example being Manganese. Furthermore, Ligands have displayed great capabilities in the determination of anticancer properties, and an essential agent exploited in drug development is arginine dithiocarbamate. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the anticancer potentials of Mn (II) arginine dithiocarbamate., Methods: The synthesis and spectroscopic analysis of the Mn (II) Arginine dithiocarbamate complex was successfully carried out. Then, the complexes were characterized through the employment of the UV-Vis, FT-IR, as well as the melting point tests, and subsequently analyzed for anticancer activities through in vitro means. The compound was produced from UV-Vis spectrum at 246 and 385 nm wavelengths and IR spectrum at wave numbers 354-499 cm -1 ., Results: The results revealed the cytotoxicity of Mn (II) Arginine dithiocarbamate against the MCF-7 cell line, observed from a significant change in the morphology of the cancer cells with IC50 value of 211.53 μg/mL., Conclusion: The compound, Mn (II) Arginine dithiocarbamate has effective anticancer potentials against MCF-7 cancer cells., (© 2020 The Authors.)
