In optical burst switched (OBS) networks, the queueing delay in ingress edge node is an important performance measure. In this paper, we propose a deterministic delay model and derive the upper bound of the burst queueing delay in an edge node. On this basis, the edge-to-edge delay guarantee framework for premium services is further outlined. Index Terms--Optical burst switching, deterministic QoS, delay analysis.

This research aims to determine the contributions of the hip joint, lumbar and thoracic spine in the execution of Sit and Reach (SR) in young Brazilians. Subjects were 195 boys from 18 to 19 years. Sit and Reach was evaluated with angular kinematic analysis through of Photogrammetry to identify the contribution of body segments in trunk flexion. A protocol was developed for evaluating reference angles that were transformed into percentage contribution of the segments. Based on the results, it was possible to create a table of classification of angles and percentages, which allowed the identification of compensation movement. It was possible to conclude that the contributions of the thoracic spine, lumbar spine and hip in performing the SR are 46.01 ±7.32%, 12.68±5.12% and 41.31 ±7.19% respectively. It is recommended that evaluations of flexion of the hip joint, thoracic and lumbar spine are performed separately by photogrammetry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents a comparison of November 2009 sit and reach test (SRT) and biophotogrammetry results of 60 girls, aged 5- 11 years, enrolled in a project for sports initiation in rhythmic gymnastics (RG) in to Paraná, Brazil. Angles of the pelvis (PW), spinal flexion (SW) and total trunk flexion (TW) were taken. The authors conclude that the SRT produces inaccurate data while biophotogrammetry with SRT results in reliable data on the measurement of the trunk anterior flexion.

Abstract A morpho-functional study of the colonial ascidian Botrylloides leachi haemocytes was carried out to propose their classification, relationships and specializations. This characterization was obtained by (i) investigations of both living and aldehyde-fixed cells by light and electron microscopy; (ii) cytochemical and cytoenzymatic assays; (iii) lectin-affinity assays; (iv) phagocytosis and haemagglutination assays; and (v) anti-CD34 immunocytochemical assay for vertebrate haematopoietic stem cells. Results indicate that the haemoblast is a circulating stem cell and there are at least five haemocyte differentiation pathways, the last two of which have never been described in botryllids: (i) phagocytic line (hyaline amoebocytes and macrophage-like cells) share ultrastructural features, the same hydrolytic enzymes and WGA lectin binding, and are involved in yeast phagocytosis and erythrocyte rosette formation; (ii) cytotoxic line (granular amoebocytes and morula cells) with vacuoles containing oxidative enzymes and polyphenolic substrates; (iii) vacuolated cell line (pigment cells and nephrocytes) involved in catabolite storage; (iv) compartment cell line (compartment amoebocytes and compartment cells) able to agglutinate erythrocytes and characterized by vacuoles with a moderately electron-dense content, positive to arylsulphatase activity and binding DBA, UEA-I, HPA lectins; and (v) granular cell line includes trophic cells, able to infiltrate the gut epithelium, showing a cytoplasm filled of PAS-positive vacuoles with arylsulphatase, chloroacetylesterase and β-glucuronidase activities.
