The axisymmetric problem for the transverse compression of a thin elastic disk is considered in slip absence. An asymptotic solution for the interior stress-strain state is constructed. An approach to determining a plane boundary layer localized near the outer contour of the disk is outlined.

The article examines the mechanism of political repression against believers by the example of the case of the Moscow neocircular Old Believer clergy. The central figure of the article is the deacon of the Old Believers prayer Ivan Afanasievich Vlasov as a characteristic type of clergyman of the 1930s, a peasant by origin, who was arrested during collectivization, but did not change his faith. The investigative case under consideration is a sample ofthetrial ofthemost isolated part of Christians – Old Believers, who attractedthe close attention ofthe NKVD bodies by their isolation andthe steadfastness in faith characteristic of the Old Believers. The reason forthe arrest wasthetestimony of a previously arrested Old Believer priest, which coincided in time with the death of one of the neocircular hierarchs – Bishop Gennady (Lakomkin). As a result, seven non-Orthodox Old Believers were repressed, among whom were clergymen, active members of the community and one bishop. At the beginning of July 1937, all of them were sentenced to different types and terms of punishment, the most severe of which was five years of correctional labor camps. The article claims that if the case against the Old Believers-neokruzhniki dragged on for three weeks, and was considered after the entry into force of the NKVD order “On the operation to repress former kulaks, criminals and other anti-Soviet elements” of July 30, 1937,”which marked the beginning of the period of the Great Terror, the sentences would have become heavier.

The article examines the question whether financial market imperfections improve the forecasting accuracy of the DSGE model of the Russian economy. To do this, a comparison of the predictive power of several versions of DSGE models evaluated on Russian data is made. The two-sector model of a small open economy is used as a base model. The extended version of the model includes a financial accelerator mechanism and considers two alternative estimates of the model: an estimate using the same data set on which the base model is evaluated, and an estimate using market risk premium data. We conclude that the financial accelerator model, estimated using risk premium data, predicts the key macroeconomic variables output and inflation more accurately. At the same time, the remaining variables that were used to estimate the model parameters give worse predictions. As a result, in practice it is recommended to combine both types of models when analyzing and preparing a forecast. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We have developed the covariant approach for the partial wave analysis of the radiative decay of the vector meson into two pseudoscalar mesons based on the orbital momentum- intrinsic spin decomposition. This allowed us to include the data on the radiative decay into a large data base for analysis of the meson production reactions. The correspondence between partial wave amplitudes extracted in our approach and those extracted in the helicity basis is determined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Eukaryotic and archaeal translation initiation factor 2 in complex with GTP delivers the initiator methionyl‐tRNA to the small ribosomal subunit. Over the past 20 years, thanks to the efforts of various research groups, including ours, this factor from the archaeon Sulfolobus solfataricus and its individual subunits have been crystallized in ten different space groups. Analysis of the molecular packing in these crystals makes it possible to better understand the roles of functionally significant switches and other elements of the nucleotide‐binding pocket during the function of the factor as well as the influence of external effects on its transition between active and inactive states. In this paper, potential use of high voltage AC plasma torch for synthesis of tungsten carbide was estimated. Two main parametres were used for this estimation are reactor temperature and specific flow rate of methane/argon mixture. Specific energy costs and yields were then estimated for the most optimal conditions (2890K, 2.0 kg gas mixture/kg tungsten oxide). The article discusses methods for producing hydrogen based on the thermal impact of arc plasma on natural gas. A high-voltage alternating current plasma torch with a power of up to 120 kW and an open circuit voltage of the power supply source of 10 kV is used for this purpose. Experiments were carried out on plasma pyrolysis of natural gas in the presence of argon and thermal reforming in the presence of water vapor and carbon dioxide.
