The aim of this paper is to systematically analyze test results performed on the lifetime of micro switches and to give a characterization of the lifetime of each product with changes in mean, standard deviation. Failure data are compared using the Weibull distribution We summarize the factorial experimental design of the tests and the experimental models of the response function. Abstract Micro switches are widely used in modern control systems, and the reliability of each micro switch may be of great significance to the whole system. Remaining useful life of micro switches is an essential index evaluating their reliability in operation, and the real-time estimation can prevent system failure in a more controllable manner. In this paper, Bayesian updating and expectation maximization are combined to achieve the remaining useful life estimation. Additionally, strong tracking filtering technique is employed to improve the adaptive update capability. The effectiveness of the method is illustrated from an experiment of a micro switch for rail vehicles. In developing countries like India, the accessibility of prosthetic arm with fingers movement for day to day activities is very costly and hence it is not affordable for common persons. Most of the available solutions of prosthetic arm are only for cosmetic purpose as they have limited movements. In the present work a novel mechanism for fingers and thumb actuation which can perform various pick and place movements is presented. The model has four fingers and thumb to mimic human palm and its movements. Anthropometric statistics are used for reference of human hand dimensions. Design of hand is done using Catia VS design software. The arm is produced by using 3D printing. The combination of spur and bevel gear linkages used in mechanism for finger movement is the same for four fingers and another mechanism for thumb has been used. Five separate DC motors, one for each finer actuation, have been used. ATmega328P A VR 8 bit microcontroller has been used to control the motion of hand with snap action microswitches. We present, for the first time, the design, development and testing of a portable ultra-lowvelocity flow sensor with a disposable architecture for use in medical applications. 3Dmicroprintingtechnique was used to fabricate high aspect ratio microscopic hair-like structuresfrom conducting polymers, in particular, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene-sulfonate(PEDOT:PSS). These high aspect ratio micro-hairs are flexible and conductive that can respond toair flowing over them. A disposable and portable flow sensor with a modular design that allowstuning of measurement range was developed, for integration with an automated neonatalresuscitator to provide closed-loop feedback. The developed portable sensor architecture is capableof real-time indication of the air flow velocity range down to few millimeters/second.

This study presents the simulation, fabrication and characterization ofmicromechanical radio frequency (RF) switch with micro inductors. The inductors areemployed to enhance the characteristic of the RF switch. An equivalent circuit model isdeveloped to simulate the performance of the RF switch. The behaviors of themicromechanical RF switch are simulated by the finite element method software,CoventorWare. The micromechanical RF switch is fabricated using the complementarymetal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) and a post-process. The post-process employs a wetetching to etch the sacrificial layer, and to release the suspended structures of the RF switch.The structure of the RF switch contains a coplanar waveguide (CPW), a suspendedmembrane, eight springs and two inductors in series. Experimental results reveal that theinsertion loss and isolation of the switch are 1.7 dB at 21 GHz and 19 dB at 21 GHz,respectively. The driving voltage of the switch is about 13 V.
