Abstract Background Experts are currently investigating the potential applications of the metaverse in healthcare. The metaverse, a groundbreaking concept that arose in the early 21st century through the fusion of virtual reality and augmented reality technologies, holds promise for transforming healthcare delivery. Alongside its implementation, the issue of digital professionalism in healthcare must be addressed. Digital professionalism refers to the knowledge and skills required by healthcare specialists to navigate digital technologies effectively and ethically. This study aims to identify the core principles of digital professionalism for the use of metaverse in healthcare. Method This study utilized a qualitative design and collected data through semi-structured online interviews with 20 medical information and health informatics specialists from various countries (USA, UK, Sweden, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Italy, Iran). Data analysis was conducted using the open coding method, wherein concepts (codes) related to the themes of digital professionalism for the metaverse in healthcare were assigned to the data. The analysis was performed using the MAXQDA software (VER BI GmbH, Berlin, Germany). Results The study revealed ten fundamental principles of digital professionalism for the metaverse in healthcare: Privacy and Security, Informed Consent, Trust and Integrity, Accessibility and Inclusion, Professional Boundaries, Evidence-Based Practice, Continuous Education and Training, Collaboration and Interoperability, Feedback and Improvement, and Regulatory Compliance. Conclusion As the metaverse continues to expand and integrate itself into various industries, including healthcare, it becomes vital to establish principles of digital professionalism to ensure ethical and responsible practices. Healthcare professionals can uphold these principles to maintain ethical standards, safeguard patient privacy, and deliver effective care within the metaverse.

Abstract One of the important problems with the existence of weak gravity conjecture (WGC) is the violation of the cosmic censorship. Such a cosmic phenomena is important and consistent in general relativity. It means that for a charged black hole in four dimensions and in the normal state, the WGC cannot hold due to the violation of the weak cosmic censorship conjecture (WCCC). But in this paper, in order to eliminate such a violation, we try to consider RN black hole at two cases, with quintessence, quintessence and cloud of strings in asymptotically flat and non-asymptotically flat. By using such metric background and applying restrictions on its parameters, we show that there will be a good compatibility between WGC and WCCC. Here, we can also see that quintessence case has less freedom in establishing compatibility than quintessence and cloud of strings. Because in the second case, the number of parameters is more and there is a degree of freedom to better establish the compatibility of two theories. Also, here we explain charged black hole in presence of quintessence and cloud of string for $$Q>M$$ Q > M and use some interesting figures we show the corresponding the black hole has an event horizon.

Statement of the Problem: Currently, the reconstruction of bone defects with new platelet concentrates is considered a significant challenge in periodontics.Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate advanced- platelet rich fibrin (A-PRF) and leukocyte- and platelet rich fibrin’s (L-PRF) effects on the proliferation and differentiation of MG-63 cells.Materials and Method: In this in vitro study, blood samples of five healthy non-smoking volunteers were collected and immediately centrifuged according to the two protocols of Choukroun and Ghanaati, without adding any anticoagulants, to prepare L-PRF and A-PRF. After freezing the clots for one hour, they were crushed and centrifuged once more. After culturing MG-63 cells, the effects of 20%, 10%, 1%, and 0.5% concentrations of A-PRF and L-PRF extracts on cell proliferation and mineralization were evaluated by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay and Alizarin Red staining, respectively.Results: Generally, survival and proliferation in the L-PRF group at both time intervals were higher than the A-PRF group and increased with increasing the extract concentration. However, in the A-PRF group, there were no significant differences between the different concentrations, and only the number of cells increased over time. After three days, in the study on mineralization, nodule formation was observed only in the positive control group (osteogenic). In seven days, mineralized nodules were formed in all groups with different concentrations of A-PRF, but not in any of the L-PRF groups.Conclusion: According to the results, L-PRF increased proliferation, and A-PRF exerted a positive effect on the differentiation of MG-63 cells.

Introduction: Pimpinella anisum is a medicinal plant with antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-oxidative properties. Limited studies have assessed the antibacterial properties of Pimpinella anisum on oral and dental pathogens. Aim: This in vitro study aimed to assess the antibacterial effect of Pimpinella anisum essential oil on Enterococcus faecalis, Lactobacillus casei, Actinomyces naeslundii, and Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. Materials and methods: After obtaining the essential oil of Pimpinella anisum, its antimicrobial activity was evaluated using the agar disc diffusion test. The minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration of the essential oil were also determined; 0.2% chlorhexidine was used as the positive control. Results: The mean diameter of growth inhibition zone was 39 mm for Enterococcus faecalis, 40 mm for Lactobacillus casei, 42 mm for Actinomyces naeslundii, and 18.5 mm for Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. The mean diameter of the growth inhibition zones for Enterococcus faecalis, Lactobacillus casei, and Actinomyces naeslundii was significantly greater than that of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (p=0.001). Also, the mean diameter of the growth inhibition zone of Actinomyces naeslundii was significantly larger than that of Enterococcus faecalis (p=0.05). The minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration of the essential oil for Enterococcus faecalis were 4.88% and 4.88%, respectively. These values were 9.76% and 9.76% for Lactobacillus casei, 9.76% and 4.88% for Actinomyces naeslundii, and 9.76% and 9.76% for Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, respectively. Conclusions: Pimpinella anisum essential oil was effective against all four microorganisms evaluated in this study. Since the lowest minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration were recorded for Enterococcus faecalis, this essential oil has maximum effects on Enterococcus faecalis. Future clinical studies are required to assess the antimicrobial efficacy of Pimpinella anisum essential oil in clinical samples.

In this paper, we first introduce Riesner-Nordstrom AdS (RN-AdS) black hole in presence of quintessence and cloud of strings. And then we use the Restrict Phase Space (RPS) formulism in the corresponding black holes at the critical point with equation state ωq=−13,−23,−1. We take advantage from central charge and Newton's constant with form of variable and prove the compatibility between weak gravity conjecture (WGC) and weak cosmic censorship conjecture (WCCC). Here, we show that when we use usual RN-AdS black hole with QM>G condition, we have weak gravity conjecture. But, in that case the WCCC is violated by WGC conjecture. In order to avoid such violation, we consider the Riesner-Nordstrom AdS (RN-AdS) black hole in the presence of quintessence, quintessence and cloud strings. Here, also one can say that, by using the special central charge, chemical potential, appropriate quintessence, cloud strings parameters and the effective Newton's constant with suitable conditions one can arrive the compatibility between weak gravity conjecture and weak cosmic censorship conjecture.

Introduction: The antibacterial effects of coconut products have been extensively studied in the recent years. Due to the high prevalence of periodontal disease and the role of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (A. actinomycetemcomitans) in periodontitis, antimicrobial agents can be effective in controlling this condition. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the antimicrobial effects of coconut water and coconut oil on A. actinomycetemcomitans. Materials and Methods: Coconut water was extracted by cracking a coconut and coconut oil was extracted by an oil-pressing machine by the cold pressing method at -50 ̊C. The disc diffusion test was carried out on 4 plates containing coconut oil, coconut water, positive control, and negative control to measure the diameter of growth inhibition zone. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) were determined. All tests were repeated 3 times. Result: Coconut oil in 100% concentration showed no antibacterial effect on A. actinomycetemcomitans in the disc diffusion test. Thus, the MBC and MIC were not determined for coconut oil. Coconut water demonstrated a bactericidal effect with 11, 9, and 0 mm growth inhibition zone diameter on 3 consecutive repetitions. According to independent t-test, a significant difference existed between the diameter of growth inhibition zone caused by coconut oil and positive control (P= 0.001). Conclusion: Coconut oil showed no antibacterial effect on A. actinomycetemcomitans, and the antibacterial effect of coconut water on A. actinomycetemcomitans was very weak.

Background: Microbial plaque-induced oral diseases are among the most common diseases worldwide. The present study aimed to compare the antimicrobial effect of electrolyzed water (EW), (acidic, mildly basic, and basic) on the growth of bacterial species producing dental plaque and to assess their cytotoxicity on fibroblasts and epithelial cells.Methods: The study was performed at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 2019. Several bacterial species (Streptococcus salivarius, Staphylococcus aureus, Lactobacillus casei, and Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans) were treated with different EW types at three pH values (3, 9, and 11) for 30 seconds and subsequently, the colonies were counted. The cytotoxic effect of these EW types was evaluated on HeLa and L929 cell lines at 30 seconds, 1 minute, and 5 minutes. GraphPad Prism 6.0 was used for statistical analysis. The Kruskal-Wallis test followed by Mann-Whitney U and one-way analysis of variance followed by Tukey’s test were used to analyze bacterial activity and cell cytotoxicity, respectively. PResults: EW types significantly inhibited bacterial growth at all pH values. The strongest antibacterial activity of EW was against A. actinomycetemcomitans (PConclusion: The contradictory effects of the EW types on both HeLa and fibroblasts, in addition to variable results at different exposure times, indicated that the effect of EW could vary depending on cell types and treatment periods.

Abstract Background Phenylketonuria (PKU), which is characterized by a deficiency of phenylalanine hydroxylase activity, is an autosomal recessive disorder of phenylalanine (Phe) metabolism. Newborn screening is the main population-based public health screening program that allows successful identification and treatment of PKU with low-Phe diet. The aim of this study was to evaluate the epidemiology of PKU screening in Iranian newborns. Methods The present study was designed based on MOOSE protocol and reporting was done in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines. The protocol of this systematic review was published in PROSPERO before it was performed (CRD42020162626). A comprehensive search was done in 10/10/2019 to find related literature on international online databases Web of Science, Scopus, EMBASE, Science Direct, PubMed/Medline, EBSCO, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, national online databases and the Google Scholar search engine. Abstract Background Thyroid dysfunction during pregnancy is associated with adverse outcomes for both mother and fetus. The present meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate thyroid dysfunction in Iranian pregnant women. Methods We registered this review at PROSPERO (registration number: CRD42020166655). The research steps in this systematic review and meta-analysis were performed according to the MOOSE protocol, and finally, reports were provided based on the PRISMA guidelines. The literature search was performed in October 2019 using the international online databases, including Web of Science, Ovid, Science Direct, Scopus, EMBASE, PubMed/Medline, Cochrane Library, EBSCO, CINAHL, Google Scholar as well as national databases were reviewed. Data were extracted after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria and qualitative evaluation of the studies. I2 index and Q test were used to assess differences in studies. All analyses were performed using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Software. P-value less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant. We identified 1261 potential articles from the databases, and 426 articles remained after removing the duplicate and unrelated studies. After evaluating the full text, 52 articles were removed. Results Finally, 19 eligible studies including 17,670 pregnant women included for meta-analysis. The prevalence of thyroid dysfunction in Iranian pregnant women was 18.10% (95%CI: 13.89–23.25). The prevalence of hypothyroidism, clinical hypothyroidism, and subclinical hypothyroidism in Iranian pregnant women was respectively estimated to be 13.01% (95%CI: 9.15–18.17), 1.35% (95%CI: 0.97–1.86) and 11.90% (95%CI: 7.40–18.57). The prevalence of hyperthyroidism, clinical hyperthyroidism, and subclinical hyperthyroidism in Iranian pregnant women was respectively estimated to be 3.31% (95%CI: 1.62–6.61), 1.06% (95%CI: 0.61–1.84) and 2.56% (95%CI: 0.90–7.05). The prevalence of anti-thyroperoxidase antibody was estimated to be 11.68% (95%CI: 7.92–16.89). Conclusion The results of this meta-analysis showed a high prevalence of thyroid disorders, especially hypothyroidism. The decision to recommend thyroid screening during pregnancy for all women is still under debate, because the positive effects of treatment on pregnancy outcomes must be ensured. On the other hand, evidence about the effect of thyroid screening and treatment of thyroid disorders on pregnancy outcomes is still insufficient. Nevertheless, a large percentage of general practitioners, obstetricians and gynecologists perform screening procedures in Iran.

Background: Physiologic jaundice in neonates usually occurs during the first week of life. The main cause of this condition is increased serum bilirubin due to heme catabolism. Objectives: This systematic review and meta-analysis study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect of zinc sulfate in Iranian newborns with hyperbilirubinemia. Methods: This review was performed based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) protocol. The databases of ISI, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar, PubMed, and Scopus were independently searched by two researchers using MeSH keywords. We included the studies published in different regions of Iran from 2015-2018. The obtained data were analyzed using the meta-analysis technique and STATA. To determine the heterogeneity across the studies, the Q and I square (I2) indices were used. Results: A total of 40 articles were collected from which 5 studies with adequate quality entered the systematic review process. The collected results were assessed in the intervention (zinc sulfate recipients) and control (without zinc sulfate treatment) groups. After the first day of consumption, total serum bilirubin level decreased 4.46 mg/dL (I2=61.9%, P=0.049) and 4.08 mg/dL (I2=72.9%, P=0.011) in the intervention and comparison groups, respectively. In the second and third days, the mean values of decreases in serum bilirubin reached 7.64 mg/dL and 6.66 mg/dL in the intervention and comparison groups, respectively. From the third day onward, serum bilirubin dropped by 8.46 and 7.08 mg/dL in intervention and control groups, respectively. Meta-regression analysis data based on the sample size and year of the study indicated a significant growing trend in using zinc sulfate by increasing years and sample size. Conclusions: Zinc sulfate is a safe and effective medication in reducing bilirubin level and its usage has increased in recent years. Therefore, this supplement could be used for the treatment of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia.

Background: Platelet products play a fundamental role in the process of healing. The new generation of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), namely advanced PRF (A-PRF), has different biological and mechanical properties compared to those of leukocyte-PRF (L-PRF). This study aimed to compare the effects of L-PRF and A-PRF on the viability and migration of human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs). Materials and Methods: In this in vitro study, the effects of A-PRF and L-PRF on the viability and migration of HGFs after 24 and 48 h were evaluated using the methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay. The viability of the negative control culture medium was considered to be 100%. The mean optical density of the test groups was divided by that of the negative control group and reported as percentage. One-way ANOVA was applied to assess the effects of time and type of PRF on the viability and migration of HGFs. Pairwise comparisons were made using the Tukey's test. Results: At 24 h, cell viability in the L-PRF group was significantly higher than that in the A-PRF group (P < 0.05). However, no significant difference was noted between the two groups at 48 h. At 24 h, L-PRF caused significantly higher cell migration compared to the negative control group, whereas at 48 h, both A-PRF and L-PRF significantly increased cell migration compared to the control group. Conclusion: Within the limitations of this study, L-PRF and A-PRF had significant effects on the viability and migration of HGFs. Further studies on these platelet concentrates are warranted.

Objective: Adolescence is a critical period in terms of development and education, in which there are numbers of high-risk behaviors that can negative effects on personal and educational life. One of these high-risk behaviors is mobile phone addiction that is a sociopsychological phenomenon, and the lack of control in the use of this technology by students can cause damage to various aspects of their personal and educational lives. The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of procrastination in the relationship between positive and negative perfectionism and addiction to mobile phone in gifted students. Method: This was a descriptive and correlational study in which 200 gifted students from gifted students’ high school of Meshghinshahr were selected using cluster sampling in 2020. Tri-Shot Perfectionism questionnaires, Tuckman Procrastination Scale, and Savari Mobile Phone Addiction questionnaire were applied to collect data. Descriptive statistics, correlation matrix, and path analysis (Structural Model) were used to analyze data. Results: The findings revealed positive and negative perfectionism was not directly related to cell phone addiction. However, positive perfectionism through procrastination meditation had a negative and indirect relationship with mobile phone addiction (β = -0.18), and negative perfectionism through procrastination meditation had a positive and indirect relationship with mobile phone addiction (β = 0.17). In other words, procrastination is a complete mediation in the relationship between negative and positive perfectionism and cell phone addiction in students (β = 0.29). Conclusion: The results emphasized the effect of procrastination on the relationship between positive and negative perfectionism and mobile phone addiction in gifted students. Therefore, these findings can help school and rehabilitation counselors to prepare programs for reducing students' addictive and avoidant behaviors.

Introduction: Low birth weight (LBW) is an important general health indicator. The present study was conducted to evaluate the prevalence and risk factors of LBW in Iran. Method: This meta-analysis was reported based on the PRISMA guidelines. All stages were independently performed by two authors. This review is registered with PROSPERO (CRD42020163446). We searched epidemiological studies at international databases of Scopus, Embase, Science Direct, PubMed/Medline, CINAHL, EBSCO, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Google Scholar search engine, as well as Iranian databases of SID, IranDoc, Iranian National Library, Barakat Knowledge Network System, RICST and Magiran using MeSH keywords without time limit until 2019. After selecting the studies, applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, data extraction and qualitative assessment, the data were analyzed based on random effects model using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Software version 2. P < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: The prevalence of LBW in Iran was 7.95% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 7.36–8.58) in 62 studies with a sample size of 301,839 newborns. The prevalence of LBW in girls and boys was 8.41% (95%CI: 7.47–9.45) and 6.67% (95%CI: 5.86–7.59), respectively. The girls-to-boys odds ratio of LBW was 1.25 (95%CI: 1.13–1.39, P < 0.001) very LBW and extremely LBW prevalence was estimated to be 0.61% (95%CI: 0.40–0.93) and 0.29% (95% CI: 0.18–0.45), respectively. The risk factors for LBW were age of >35 versus [vs.] ≤35 (P = 0.024), age of 2 (P < 0.001), prematurity (P < 0.001), history of LBW (P < 0.001), multiple birth (P < 0.001), abortion (P < 0.001), vaginal bleeding (P < 0.001), hypertension (P = 0.001) and preeclampsia (P < 0.001). Conclusion: The results of this meta-analysis showed that LBW is prevalent in Iran. This study can be a national database for LBW that would be of interest to Iranian health policy-makers and planners.

Background: Leishmania major LmSTI1 is a conserved protein among different species of leishmania, and expressed in both amastigote and promastigote forms of L. major life cycle. It has previously been expressed in bacterial systems.Materials and Methods: To express LmSTI1 in the methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris (P. pastoris), the shuttle vector pPICZA containing gene lmsti1 was constructed under the control of the AOX1 promoter. The recombinant vector was electro-transformed into P. pastoris, and induced by 0.5% methanol in the buffered medium. The expression of the LmSTI1 protein was visualized in the total soluble protein of P. pastoris by 12% SDS-PAGE, and further confirmed by Western blotting with L.major-infected mouse sera and HRP-conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG as the first and secondary antibodies, respectively.Results: The expression level was 0.2% of total soluble proteins.Conclusion: It might be possible to use this formulation as a whole yeast candidate vaccine against cutaneous leishmanization.

Periodontitis and tooth decay are common dental diseases. There are some bacterial risk factors such as Streptococcus mutans, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans and Candida albicans fungi. Considering the increasing resistance of bacteria and fungi to antibiotics and their complications, tubers of Cyperus rotundus was used to determine the antimicrobial effect of alcoholic and aqueous extracts and essential oil on Streptococcus mutans, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans and Candida albicans, as well as an examination cytotoxicity on gingival fibroblast cells. Alcoholic and aqueous extracts and essential oil prepared from tubers of Cyperus rotundus. After bacterial and fungal cultures, the inhibition zone, Minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC), and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC), were studied. Cytotoxicity was also evaluated using the Methyl tetrazolium test (MTT).The results showed that Cyperus rotundus alcoholic extract had the greatest effect on inhibition of growth and death of Streptococcus mutans, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. According to the present study, Cyperus rotundus extract can be considered as a suitable candidate for the treatment and prevention of periodontitis and tooth decay.

Prevention of bacterial growth among root canal treatment sessions is a prerequisite for successful root canal treatment. The most common way to achieve this is to use calcium hydroxide in the treatment sessions. Some studies have shown calcium hydroxide inefficiency in this field. The aim of this study was to investigate and compare the effects of silver, copper, zinc oxide and magnesium oxide nanoparticles on the inhibitory effects of calcium hydroxide based on Enterococcus faecalis species. Enterococcus faecalis bacteria having 0.5 McFarland concentration were prepared. Plates containing BHI agar medium were prepared. In each plate, four wells were created and the plate was cultured using a sterile swab. Afterwards, calcium hydroxide composition of 1% and 2% concentration from silver, copper, zinc oxide and magnesium oxide nanoparticles were prepared separately, as well as the combination of calcium hydroxide with 1% silver in combination with 1% of copper, zinc oxide and magnesium oxide nanoparticles, which were then transferred to the wells. After 24 hours of incubation, the inhibition zone diameter was measured. Data were analyzed by Mann-Withney test. This paper discusses the significance of the cooperation between the United States and Iran for the Middle East region. It will be argued that despite the political and ideological conflicts between the U.S. and Iran, reaching a “point by point” agreement would best help to resolve Middle East predicaments, especially the Islamic terrorism. To achieve this, the following pages examine the historical background of issues such as terrorism in the Middle East. This paper also focuses on two main paths to support the better U.S.-Iran cooperation, if not talking about relations at all. First, the theory of “point by point” approach helps both countries to tackle tough agendas and overcome the predicaments in the Middle East. Second, to reach the desired cooperation between these two countries, both the U.S. and Iran need to overcome their own internal constraints as well as the external constrains imposed by other countries. This paper takes an historical and theoretical approach to reveal the two countries’ common interests in the Middle East. The general thesis argues that the Middle East’s security requires the United States and Iran to develop a diplomatic and military cooperation.
