Background/Aim. Given that frequent manipulation of the abutment during immediate loading can have a negative impact on the surrounding peri-implant hard and soft tissues, the concept “one abutment at one time” (OAO) has been introduced and documented in daily clinical practice. The aim of the study was to evaluate changes in peri-implant bone levels, clinical and radiographic parameters, and patient perspectives during the six-month follow-up period. Methods. The study was designed as a randomized controlled clinical trial. Patients with bilaterally healed sites in the posterior mandible received implants with a diameter of no less than 3.5 mm and a length of at least 8 mm. Based on randomization, patients were divided into a test group and a control group. Patients who were in the test group received implants that were immediately loaded with definitive abutments. In contrast, patients in the control group received implants where healing abutments were placed, followed by temporary abutments. Implants were immediately loaded with provisional restorations within the first seven days. They were delivered over the test group’s definitive abutment and the control group’s temporary abutment. Probing depth, bleeding on probing, clinical attachment level, plaque index, and keratinized tissue width were measured. Patient-Reported Outcome Measures and the Oral Health Impact Profile - 19 (OHIP-19) questionnaires were noted. Results. Out of 24 included patients, 22 completed the six-month follow-up. Peri-implant bone loss between study groups was comparable (mesial: t = -0.798, df = 21, p = 0.434; distal: t = 1.688, df = 21, p = 0.106), without statistical inter-group significance. OHIP-19 total scores significantly decreased after three months and remained similar six months after the implant placement in both groups without statistically relevant clinical inter-group changes. Conclusion. The OAO approach and provisional abutments showed comparable effectiveness regarding the immediate loading of posterior single implants.

Background/Aim. The clinical success of prosthetic rehabilitation that commences after the attained implant osseointegration is dependent on the influence of several factors, of which screw loosening is a frequent one, and it is highly related to inadequate tightening (torquing) using torque wrenches. Although the wrenches are initially calibrated by the manufacturer, it is of great importance to evaluate their function after usage for a certain period of time. The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy and repeatability of the performance of implant torque wrenches in delivering necessary torque values before and after one year of usage. Methods. Two types of wrenches were used in the study: the beam-type and the toggle-type. Four various brands of beam-type wrench were marked as Beam 1 – Beam 4, and three various brands of toggle-type wrench were marked as Toggle 1 – Toggle 3, according to their design. Torque values delivered by wrenches were measured and analyzed using the One-Sample t-test, Independent-Samples t-test, and Mann-Whitney U test. The Bland-Altman bias test was used as an index of accuracy, whereas Forkman’s comparison of datasets coefficients of variation (CV) served as an index of repeatability. Results. All wrenches except new Beam 2 and Beam 3 showed differences between the average measured torque value and target torque value. Differences were found in the average measured values between all used and new wrenches. Higher bias was observed in Toggle 1, Toggle 2, and Toggle 3 brands, whereas lower bias was recorded between used and new Beam 1 and Beam 3 wrenches. When comparing the CV for used and new wrenches, Beam 1, Beam 4, Toggle 1, and Toggle 2 revealed differences, whereas the CV for Beam 2, Beam 3, and Toggle 3 did not differ significantly. Conclusion. Compared to toggle-type, the beam-type wrenches offer greater accuracy in achieving the target torque value. The torque deteriorates in all wrenches after aging/usage and is more prominent in toggle-type devices.

Background/Aim: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has seen a rapid increase worldwide in recent decades, now recognised as a global health issue of the 21st century. Optimal, continuous control of hypertension represents a crucial part of treatment capable of slowing the progression of CKD. The aim of this study was to demonstrate that optimal regulation blood pressure control in patients with essential and secondary hypertension, along with CKD, slows the progression of CKD. Methods: The research was conducted at the University Clinical Centre of the Republic of Srpska, Banja Luka, Internal Clinic Nephrology Department. A retrospective-prospective study was blind for patients and lasted for 24 months. It included 97 patients, aged 18 and above, of both genders, hypertensive, in the 3rd or 4th stage of CKD (creatinine clearance of 15-59 mL/min). Assess the outcome of CKD, a "complex (undesirable) clinical outcome" was taken - one of three fundamental clinically undesirable events: double increase in serum creatinine values at the end of 24 months, onset of terminal renal insufficiency, or patient death. Patients were classified into three groups: I group - 30 patients with essential hypertension and CKD with optimally regulated blood pressure; II group - 32 patients with secondary hypertension and CKD with optimally regulated blood pressure; III control group - 35 patients with hypertension of various causes and CKD who did not achieve target blood pressure values. Blood pressure control was measured from month 0 to month 24 - once a month. Laboratory tests were taken every 3 months (red blood cells, haemoglobin, glycaemia, cholesterol, urea, creatinine, uric acid, sodium, potassium in serum and urine). Results: There was a highly statistically significant difference in glomerular filtration rate in the first group compared to the third group and in the second group compared to the third group. No statistically significant difference in glomerular filtration rate between the first and second groups was observed, where good blood pressure regulation was achieved. Conclusion: Optimal blood pressure control in the examined groups, regardless of the cause of CKD, was responsible for slowing the progression of CKD compared to the group with unregulated blood pressure.

Olive leaves as a main byproduct of olive oil and fruit industry are a valuable source of phytochemicals such as polyphenols, with multiple biomedical effects. Apart from leaves, olive branches and stems make up a significant amount of olive waste. It is well known that the drying process and long-term storage affect the stability and concentration of polyphenols present in raw materials. For that matter, two different means of storing olive waste, at room temperature and +4 °C, were compared by determining the content of the polyphenol oleuropein (OLE) in olive leaf, branch, and stem extracts (LE, BE, and SE) by HPLC-DAD method. Total phenols (TPC), o-diphenols (o-DPC), and total flavonoids (TFC) content in extracts were assessed by UV-Vis measurements. LE prepared from leaves stored at +4 °C had the highest OLE content, 30.7 mg g−1 of dry extract (DE). SE from stems stored at +4 °C was the richest in TPC and TFC (193 mg GAE/g DE and 82.9 mg CE/g DE, respectively), due to the higher purity of the extract. The biological activity of extracts was determined on cervical cancer (HeLa), melanoma (A375), metastatic melanoma (A375M) tumor cell lines, and on spontaneously immortalized cell line of keratinocytes (HaCaT), using the MTT assay. The data show that all extracts had a similar dose-dependent effect on cell viability in HeLa cells, while the effect of LE on melanoma A375 and A375M, and HaCaT cells was cell-line dependent.

Background/Aim. A special feature of coronary heart disease (CHD) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is that it is often a symptomatic and occurs as a consequence of cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy. Dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system is associated with elevated values of inflammatory markers such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and interleukin- 6 (IL-6), which accelerate atherosclerosis and the occurrence of cardiovascular complications in patients with T2DM. The aim of the study was to evaluate the importance of determining inflammatory cardiovascular risk markers IL-6 and hs-CRP in screening for the presence of CHD in asymptomatic patients with T2DM. Methods. The study included 169 patients with T2DM without any symptoms and signs of CHD. Ergometric testing proved or ruled out the presence of silent CHD. The levels of hs- CRP and IL-6 were determined by ELISA. Results. IL-6 values were significantly higher in patients with a positive ergometric test (6.83 ± 1.99 pg/mL) compared to patients with a negative ergometric test (3.04 ± 1.39 pg/mL) (p < 0.001). We also found that hs-CRP values in patients with a positive ergometric test were significantly higher compared to patients with a negative ergometric test (6.37 ± 2.25 vs 1.67 ± 1.41 mg/L; p < 0.001). Combinations of IL-6 and hs-CRP with age, HbA1c values, and duration of diabetes, presented through three binary logistic regression models, are significant predictors of silent CHD proven by ergometric testing, ie, with their increase, the probability of a positive ergometric test also increases (p < 0.01). The sensitivity of the associated finding of elevated IL-6 and hs-CRP values in the detection of silent CHD by ergometric testing was 90%, and the specificity was 86%. Conclusion. Hs-CRP and IL-6 are significant predictors of silent CHD, and their determination could be recommended for improving cardiovascular risk stratification in asymptomatic patients with T2DM.

This article is dealing with international relations between EU and Russian Federation after falling of Berlin's wall and decline of communist regimes in countries of Eastern block. Author is trying to emphasize three periods. First period is from 1991. until 2000. During presidency of Boris Jeljcin in Russia. This period is reflected by declining of Russian power and stronger integration of Europe because of Treaties of Maastricht and Amsterdam. Second period is period of coming on power president Vladimir Putin and uprising of Russia. This period lasts until 2014. year, when relations were more-less stable, except conflict in Georgia. Third period is related to conflict in Ukraine in 2014. And energetic crisis in 2021. Conflict in Ukraine has shown that EU doesn't have force to stand from foreign policy of USA, which is reflected in actions of NATO. Author concludes article with hope that memory from two world wars will be enough strong for politicians from both sides to not let another world war, and they will find new ways to enhance international cooperation.

Introduction. Surgical extraction of impacted mandibular third molar can lead to the periodontal defect on distal aspect of the mandibular second molar causing pocket formation, tooth sensitivity, food retention, postoperative infections. Different surgical techniques have been proposed to reduce periodontal complications. Case outline. We presented five cases treated with Vestibular Bone Window Technique. Considering data from the literature review, benefits and limitations of the technique are discussed and compared to the Standard Surgical Technique. Conclusion. Vestibular Bone Window Technique might be recommended surgical procedure for the extraction of impacted mandibular third molar when bucco-distal bone wall is present preoperatively. Taking into account only five cases, future work should consider a randomized clinical trial with the larger stratified samples.

Cancer presents one of the leading causes of death in the world. Current treatment includes the administration of one or more anticancer drugs, commonly known as chemotherapy. The biggest issue concerning the chemotherapeutics is their toxicity on normal cells and persisting side effects. One approach to the issue is chemoprevention and the other one is the discovery of more effective drugs or drug combinations, including combinations with polyphenols. Olive oil polyphenols (OOPs), especially hydroxytyrosol (HTyr), tyrosol (Tyr) and their derivatives oleuropein (Ole), oleacein and oleocanthal (Oc) express anticancer activity on different cancer models. Recent studies report that phenolic extract of virgin olive oil may be more effective than the individual phenolic compounds. Also, there is a growing body of evidence about the combined treatment of OOPs with various anticancer drugs, such as cisplatin, tamoxifen, doxorubicin and others. These novel approaches may present an advanced strategy in the prevention and treatment of cancer.

Introduction. Trichinellosis is one of the most important foodborne diseases in Serbia. Most patients with suspected trichinellosis in Belgrade are referred to the Clinical Center of Serbia for diagnosis and treatment, as are unclear and complicated cases from all across Serbia. Materials and Methods. A retrospective study of trichinellosis serology was carried out from 2009-2018 and included all outpatients and hospitalised patients from the Clinic for Infectious and Tropical Disease, Clinical Center of Serbia, who were serologically tested for Trichinella by the Parasitological Laboratory (n=1,565). Trichinella-specific IgG antibodies were detected in sera by a commercial ELISA test. We analysed the seroprevalence of Trichinella-specific IgG antibodies, antibody detection kinetics and cross-reactivity with other nematodes. Results and Conclusions. The number of patients who reported for serological testing varied greatly per year and month. Most patients were tested in December and March, which coincides with the months with the most confirmed cases of trichinellosis. A total of 17.4% patients who were tested for trichinellosis had other parasitic infections. Altogether, 223 (14.2%) of tested patients were finally diagnosed with trichinellosis. We detected anti-Trichinella IgG in 68.8% (223) of patients with suspected trichinellosis on admission, which increased to 86.5%, 91.5% and 92.4% after later second, third and fourth testing, respectively. Final diagnoses of toxocariasis, strongyloidiasis, filariasis, and dirofilariasis were made for 2.4%, 0.3%, 0.3% and 0.1% of patients, respectively. Concurrent seropositivity for Trichinella and Toxocara was observed in 18.9% (7/37) of patients with clinical presentation of trichinellosis and who were also tested for toxocariasis. In 3/5 patients with imported filariasis, we found cross-reactivity with Trichinella. Potential cross-reactivity of this ELISA test with antibodies to the autochthonous nematode Toxocara canis demands the introduction of Western blot technology. Trichinellosis must be diagnosed by the combination of clinical, laboratory and epidemiological criteria.

Introduction: Although before, the prioritization of positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia over neurocognitive impairment was of the highest importance, recent scientific achievements suggest that the disrupted neurocognitive functions are the core clinical feature of schizophrenia. Both general and specific cognitive functions are impaired. Earlier studies promoted atypical antipsychotics as the ones with the pro-cognitive effect, but an increasing number of recent studies do not demonstrate their superiority on neurocognitive improvement over typical antipsychotics. Aim: The aim of this study was to compare the effects of atypical antipsychotics and a combination of typical and atypical antipsychotics on cognitive functions in patients with psychotic disorders. Furthermore, the effects on gender and duration of disorder on the cognitive functioning of patients on different types of antipsychotic therapy were evaluated, as well as the effect of anticholinergic biperiden in patients receiving combined antipsychotic therapy. Subjects and Methods: This academic IV phase quasi-experimental clinical study included 50 hospitalized patients at the Clinic for Psychiatry at the Clinical Center of Vojvodina, who were divided into two groups of 25 subjects-one consisted of patients who had been on treatment with atypical antipsychotics for six weeks at least, while the second group included patients who had been on combined therapy with typical and atypical antipsychotics for minimum of six weeks. Within the second group, two subgroups could have been recognized; one with 12 patients who were co-medicated with anticholinergic biperidine, whilst the rest of 13 patients were using only combined antipsychotic therapy. All patients' cognitive functions were tested using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and the results have been analyzed and compared using t-test. Results: There were no statistically significant difference in cognitive functioning between patients using atypical or combined antipsychotic therapy (p>0.05). There is no statistically signifi cant effect on gender or duration of disorder on cognitive functioning in the two compared groups (p>0.05). In this paper, the signal transmission in the Free -Space Optics (FSO) communication system using the software package OptiSystem 7.0 is analyzed. The influence of parameters FSO (Free -Space-Optics) channels (Range, Attenuation, Beam Divergence, Transmitter Loss, Receiver Loss, and Additional Losses) on the reception quality is considered. The reception quality is analyzed according to the values of BER (Bit Error Ratio) and Q factor. Graphics and tables of the changes of BER and Q factor depending on the parameters of FSO are given. Also, the eye diagrams for the characteristic parameter values are given.

Phase diagram of the Bi-Cu-Ga ternary system has been investigated experimentally with 27 alloys and analytically by using a Calphad method. Thirteen annealed alloys at 200°C were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) methods. Temperatures of phase transformation were determined with 14 alloys which are lying along three vertical sections Bi-Cu0.5Ga0.5, Cu-Bi0.5Ga0.5 and Ga-Bi0.5Cu0.5 by using differential thermal analysis (DTA). Based on the experimental result and by using Calphad method, ternary phase diagrams were constructed with a new description of liquidus phase. Calculated phase diagram and experimentally obtained results are in good agreement. Liquidus projection and invariant reaction were calculated by using new thermodynamic parameters for liquidus phase. Abstract Background Acquiring sufficient knowledge and understanding the importance of intestinal microbiota and probiotics in health and disease, as well as their potential for interactions with concurrently administered drugs, can significantly influence future pharmacotherapeutic practices among health science students. Objective This study aimed to assess the knowledge, factors influencing knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding intestinal microbiota and probiotics and their interactions with drugs among students of the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad. Materials and methods This cross-sectional study was conducted in the form of an anonymous questionnaire among first- and final-year medical and pharmacy students. Predictors of knowledge scores were analyzed using a negative binomial regression model. Results The questionnaire was completed by 263 medical and pharmacy students (44.58% first-year and 55.5% final-year students). Approximately half of the students (53.2%) demonstrated fair knowledge, 34.2% had poor knowledge, and only 12.5% had good knowledge about the intestinal microbiota and probiotics. Study year and self-assessment of knowledge were statistically significant predictors of knowledge scores, while the presence of chronic diseases, previous education, and lifestyle were not. The most common indications for probiotic use among respondents were antibiotic use (75.4%) and gastrointestinal symptoms (69.9%). A large number of respondents reported not paying attention to the concurrent use of probiotics with drugs or food, nor to the choice of specific probiotic strains. Most students expressed that they receive insufficient information on this topic at the university. Conclusion Most students demonstrate inadequate knowledge about the gut microbiota and probiotics, which affects their practical use of these supplements. The primary reasons for this are insufficient information and unreliable sources of information. Therefore, enhancing education on this topic could significantly improve the knowledge and pharmacotherapeutic practices of future healthcare professionals.

There are various definitions of tourist destination. All of them define tourist destination as an area with specific tourist facilities and attractions, (primary and secondary elements) which tourists choose as their journey goal. Budva individually represents the largest tourist destination due to number of arrivals and overnight stays. During its life cycle Budva has gone through different phases as a tourist destination. This thesis implies that it is not enough to use only common quantitative indicator of visitor number to define proper the position of tourist destination and predict further development. This text is based on a comparative analysis of the attitudes of tourists and local stakeholders in the three field researches, conducted in the period between 2015 and 2016. The thesis comes to the conclusion that the actual growth is based on meeting the needs of existing markets and tourists. On the other side, aspect of desired market position disagrees with scores of tourist offer elements- which should be input for improvement and preparation for the next stage in the destination development.

Implant placement in the esthetic zone is a complex procedure and requires a restoration-driven approach. Proper selection of patients and implant together with individual assessment of the risk of esthetic complications are very important. Correct 3D-implant positioning and sufficient bone volume should provide long-term esthetic and function. Esthetic region is a zone in which expectations and possibilities collide. Clinician should bring the important decision on the appropriate time of implant placement. Immediate implant placement is particularly challenging in the esthetic zone. Patient desire for reduced treatment time should be weighed against the possible risk factors. Protocol of immediate implant placement in conditions of unfavourable gingival biotypes, the lack of bone or soft tissue in patients with a high smile line lead to esthetic failure which is very important in the esthetic region.

Background/purpose: This paper discusses the application of ABMS - agent-based modelling and simulation in the analysis of customer behaviour on B2C e-commerce websites as well as in the analysis of various business decisions upon the effects of on-line sales. The continuous development and dynamics in the field of e-commerce requires application of advanced decision-making tools. These tools must be able to process, in a short time period, a large amount of data generated by the e-commerce systems and enable the use of acquired data for making quality business decisions.

Introduction. Differences between the tooth and implant response to load can lead to many biological and technical implications in the conditions of occlusal forces. Objective. The objective of this study was to analyze load distribution in tooth/implant-supported fixed partial dentures with the use of resilient TSA (Titan Shock Absorber, BoneCare GmbH, Augsburg, Germany) abutment and conventional non-resilient abutment using finite element method. Methods. This study presents two basic 3D models. For one model a standard non-resilient abutment is used, and on the implant of the second model a resilient TSA abutment is applied. The virtual model contains drawn contours of tooth, mucous membranes, implant, cortical bones and spongiosa, abutment and suprastructure. The experiment used 500 N of vertical force, applied in three different cases of axial load. Calculations of von Mises equivalent stresses of the tooth root and periodontium, implants and peri-implant tissue were made. Results. For the model to which a non-resilient abutment is applied, maximum stress values in all three cases are observed in the cortical part of the bone (maximum stress value of 49.7 MPa). Measurements of stress and deformation in the bone tissue in the model with application of the resilient TSA abutment demonstrated similar distribution; however, these values are many times lower than in the model with non-resilient TSA abutment (maximum stress value of 28.9 MPa). Conclusion. Application of the resilient TSA abutment results in more equal distribution of stress and deformations in the bone tissue under vertical forces. These values are many times lower than in the model with the non-resilient abutment.

Background/Aim. Surgical treatment of odontogenic cysts in childhood could be accompanied by injury of important anatomical structures. Even though enucleation is considered to be preferable treatment of odontogenic cysts, the specificities of pediatric age favor more conservative surgical approach. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of decompression as the uttermost treatment of odontogenic cysts in the pediatric age. Methods. This retrospective study included 22 patients, 7−16 years old, with a single jaw cystic lesion. The majority of these lesions were dentigerous cyst (14), and the rest belonged to keratocystic odontogenic tumor (KCOT) (8). All lesions were primarily treated with decompression; it was a final treatment (one-stage procedure) in 13 dentigerous cysts, and it was followed by enucleation (twostage procedure) in one dentigerous cyst and all the KCOT. Results. A total of 13 (59.1%) dentigerous cysts were treated successfully only with decompression as one stage procedure, while the other 9 (40.9%) cysts required enucleation (1 dentigerous and 8 KCOT), after decompression (p ≤ 0.001). Conclusion. Related to non-aggressive lesions, more conservative treatment approach, such as decompression as one-stage procedure, should be considered. Background/Aim. During drilling implant sites, mechanical energy is converted into thermal one resulting in transient rise in temperature of surrounding bone. The temperature of 47°C exeeding one minute impairs osseointegration, compromises mechanical properties of the local bone and could cause early implant failure. This in vitro study aimed to assess the effect of surgical drill guide and temperature of irrigans on thermal changes of the local bone during drilling implant sites, and to test the influence of irrigans temperature on the temperature of surgical drill guide. Methods. A total of 48 specimens obtained from bovine ribs were randomly allocated to four experimental conditions according to the 2 x 2 factorial design: drill guide (with or without) and saline (at 25°C or 5°C). Real-time infrared thermography was used as a method for temperature measurement. The primary outcome was bone temperature change during drilling implant sites measured at 3 osteotomy depths, whereas the second one was change in the temperature of the drill guide. Data were analyzed by Brunner and Langer nonparametric analysis and Wilcoxon test. Results. The effect of drill guide on the changes of bone temperature was significant at the entrance of osteotomy, whereas the effect of saline temperature was significant at all osteotomy levels (p < 0.001). No significant interaction was found (p > 0.05). Guided surgery and irrigation with saline at 25°C were associated with the highest bone temperature increase. Increase in drill guide temperature was significantly higher when saline at 25°C was used (p < 0.001). Conclusion. Guided implant site preparation generates higher temperature of the local bone than conventional drilling, not exceeding the threshold for thermal bone necrosis. Although saline at room temperature provides sufficient heat control during drilling, cooled saline is more effective regardless the use of surgical drill guide.

The focal point of this paper is to analyze the relation of modern-day Serbian neo-Nazis toward capitalism. Bearing in mind the context and conditions of emerging fascism in Europe of the twentieth century, apart from the fact that it exposes the essence of the basic theme, this research may have a perspective scientific and practical significance. Namely, the fascism is only one of the many forms of capitalism rescue in periods of crisis. At the time when fascism came into the European scene, ruling bourgeoisie was threatened by a growing labor movement, by blocked possibilities of expansion of capital, and by crisis of overproduction which is, due to its essential irrationality and lack of plan, specific only for capitalism. Today, in the case of a renewed national homogenization of capital, which is risky to predict after a crisis that happened back in 2008, it is possible that resurgence of fascist and Nazi forms of advocacy of transformation of capitalism in crisis could happen. The three most significant neo-Nazi organizations in Serbia today are Srbski Obraz, Nacionalni stroj and Srbska akcija. The injunction of the first two organizations and the illegal character of the Nazi organization prevent face to face data collection, which is why the Internet is used as a primary source of information - web portals, blogs, forums and social networks.

This paper provides an overview of the process of bibliotherapy and suggests some techniques that can be used in implementing it. Before this, autor underlines the differences between clinical and developmental bibliotherapy, and presents a short historical overview of development of this discipline of psychotherapy. Author also quotes a various deffinitions of this term in both meanings and concludes that all of these deffinitions contains a common denominator which is using books in order to helping people. Various chapters of the paper discuss the topics such as: bibliotherapy and children needs, the bibliotherapeutic process, the skills and attributes of a good bibliotherapist, and the limitations of bibliotherapy.

Background/Aim. Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been proven to stimulate bone repair, affecting cellular proliferation, differentiation and adhesion, and has shown a potential to reduce the healing time following implant placement. The aim of this clinical study was to investigate the influence of postoperative LLLT osseointegration and early success of self-tapping implants placed into low-density bone. Methods. Following the split-mouth design, self-tapping implants (n = 44) were inserted in the posterior maxilla of 12 patients. One jaw side randomly received LLLT (test group), while the other side was placebo (control group). For LLLT, a 637 nm gallium-aluminum-arsenide (GaAlAs) laser (Medicolaser 637, Technoline, Belgrade, Serbia) with an output power of 40 mW and continuous wave was used. Low-level laser treatment was performed immediately after the surgery and then repeated every day in the following 7 days. The total irradiation dose per treatment was 6.26 J/cm² per implant. The study outcomes were: implant stability, alkaline-phosphatase (ALP) activity and early implant success rate. The follow-up took 6 weeks. Results. Irradiated implants achieved a higher stability compared with controls during the entire follow-up and the difference reached significance in the 5th postoperative week (paired t-test, p = 0.030). The difference in ALP activity between the groups was insignificant in any observation point (paired t-test, p > 0.05). The early implant success rate was 100%, regardless of LLLT usage. Conclusion. LLLT applied daily during the first postoperative week expressed no significant influence on the osseointegration of selftapping implants placed into low density bone of the posterior maxilla. Placement of self-tapping macro-designed implants into low density bone could be a predictable therapeutic procedure with a high early success rate regardless of LLLT usage.

Dyspraxia is often defined as a disorder or immaturity in the development of motor skills and organized, voluntary movements in the objective space. Considering speech as a motor activity of high specificity and complexity, dyspraxic disorders can also affect the control of oral-buccal-lingual movements and produce problems in oral expression. Developmental verbal dyspraxia is the developmental speech and language disorder that is manifested in the difficulty of programming sequential speech movements, and therefore the production of meaningful verbal messages and its accompanying nonverbal elements. It is diagnosed if the child has no detected peripheral organ damage, severe sensory disturbances, nor muscle weakness or dysfunction. Also, an intellectual functioning is within normal range ande receptive language skills are intact. Good results in the treatment of developmental dyspraxic disorders are achieved by using techniques of psychomotor reeducation method, a kind of developmental therapy that achieves reintegration of practognostical skills and psychomotor activity by using speech, body movements and tonic dialogue as authentic means of communication. This paper will describe certain types of exercises of general psychomotor re-education which can be used in the treatment of developmental verbal dyspraxia, as a supplement to speech and neuropsychological therapy.
