Background: Regular exercise provides benefits that are beyond dispute, and promoting physical activity levels ought to be a primary focus at all levels of healthcare. Chronic exercise causes a variety of cellular and organismal changes that modify how the body processes all macronutrients, including lipids. Purpose: The study investigates different types of aerobic exercise and their impact on both types of cholesterols—low-density-lipoprotein and high-density-lipoprotein cholesterol and recommends the best protocol for regulating cholesterol levels. Design/Methodology/Approach: This mixed-method study analyzes survey questionnaires distributed among physicians from two different sites in Oman. A total of 60 randomly selected and complete samples were used for the analysis using the Chi-square test. The survey consists of demographic information and questions about the types of cholesterol and types of aerobic exercise and the effect of different kinds of aerobic exercise on cholesterol levels. Finding: The study’s findings demonstrate a statistically significant reduction of cholesterol levels through 20-30 minutes of aerobic exercise (walking, swimming, and running). The relationship between aerobic exercise and cholesterol levels vis-a-vis age and gender is not statistically significant. Furthermore, this study recommends the best protocol for regulating cholesterol levels. Research implications: The study has wider implications for future studies in wellness rhetoric in the Arab Gulf States. The outcome is on the wellness discourse which has mass level impact. The rhetoric of wellness programs has a buy-in potential for the Arab Gulf States sitting on the cusp of lifestyle-based diseases, including blood pressure and diabetes. Originality/value: With hardly any extant research in this field in Oman and some sporadic studies in Arab Gulf states, this study establishes its originality, exigency, and value addition in the repertoire of wellness programs in Oman and the Arab Gulf States.

BackgroundIn the past infectious diseases affected the quality of lifestyle during home confinement. The study conducted examines the influence of home confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak on lifestyle, mental wellbeing, nutritional status, and sleeping pattern.MethodAn online multicategorical questionnaire was distributed to collect demographic information combined with the following tools: Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), WHO-5 wellbeing score, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). A snowball non-discriminate sampling procedure was conducted to collect data from people attending or working at higher institutions from March 1, 2020 to April 24, 2020. A total of 1723 completed responses (917 males, 37.4 ±13.4 years old and 806 females 32.2 ± 11.5 years old) were collected.ResultsThe female participants had significantly lower mental health scores than males (53.9% vs. 46.1%). The mental wellbeing scores were higher among participants with medium and high physical activity (PA) levels (p < 0.00). Additionally, the mental wellbeing scores were significantly improved by dietary quality and it's sleeping score (p < 0.001). However, PA was by far the major determinant of the mental health scores.ConclusionFactors such as PA, diet, and sleeping patterns were associated with mental wellbeing during the COVID-19 confinement among Arab participants.

The aim of the recent study was to examine the effect of neuromuscular training on performance layup and free throw shots performance among female basketball students. Study sample was female students of physical education and sport sciences department (Age 20.21±39.0) who volunteered to participate in this study. Thirty-seven female students participated in this study, where (21) female students were selected to be experimental group of neuromuscular exercises. A sample of (16) female students was used for the exploratory study from the original community. Results showed that neuromuscular exercises can improve the chosen basketball skills (free-throw and layup-shot shooting). The contribution of neuromuscular training in a positive way to the free-throw and layup-shooting skills.
