The [Zn1–xNix(HF2)(pyz)2]SbF6 (x = 0.2; pyz = pyrazine) solid solution exhibits a zero-field splitting (D) that is 22% larger [D = 16.2(2) K (11.3(2) cm–1)] than that observed in the x = 1 material [D = 13.3(1) K (9.2(1) cm–1)]. The substantial change in D is accomplished by an anisotropic lattice expansion in the MN4 (M = Zn or Ni) plane, wherein the increased concentration of isotropic Zn(II) ions induces a nonlinear variation in M-F and M-N bond lengths. In this, we exploit the relative donor atom hardness, where M-F and M-N form strong ionic and weak coordinate covalent bonds, respectively, the latter being more sensitive to substitution of Ni by the slightly larger Zn(II) ion. In this way, we are able to tune the single-ion anisotropy of a magnetic lattice site by Zn-substitution on nearby sites. This effect has possible applications in the field of single-ion magnets and the design of other molecule-based magnetic systems.

International audience; We have shown a new design strategy which exploits different oxyanions in a Ruddlesden-Popper (RP)-type phase to modulate the local crystal structure and magnetic lattice. Material (Sr4Fe2(SO4)0.5O6.5) with the larger voluminous oxyanion (SO4, S-O distance = 1.49 Å) as separating blocks between magnetic FeO layers shows a two-dimensional magnetic lattice. A three-dimensional magnetic lattice and spin reorientation transition is observed for the Sr4Fe2(CO3)O6, having CO3 (C-O distance = 1.25 Å), a smaller oxyanion, as a separating layer. Using mixed oxyanions (SO4 and CO3) in the central perovskite block of the RP3 phase, we have demonstrated a facile strategy to modulate the local crystal structure. The modulated displacement of the magnetic cations, which can break the local centrosymmetry, is suggested to originate the magnetodielectric effect near the magnetic ordering temperatures (higher than room temperature). Further, all CO3 containing samples show magnetodielectric coupling below room temperature due to the spin reorientation transition. The room temperature magnetodielectric effect coupled to the targeted local modulation of the crystal structure by oxyanions (in the absence of second-order Jahn-Teller active "distortion centers") opens a new door to the design of new multifunctional materials with the possibility for the room temperature application. © 2019 American Chemical Society.

This article reviews the development in our laboratory of magnetic lattices comprising periodic arrays of magnetic microtraps created by patterned magnetic films to trap periodic arrays of ultracold atoms. Recent achievements include the realisation of multiple Bose-Einstein condensates in a 10 \(\mu\)m-period one-dimensional magnetic lattice; the fabrication of sub-micron-period square and triangular magnetic lattice structures suitable for quantum tunnelling experiments; the trapping of ultracold atoms in a sub-micron-period triangular magnetic lattice; and a proposal to use long-range interacting Rydberg atoms to achieve spin-spin interactions between sites in a large-spacing magnetic lattice.

We report on the epitaxial growth and the characterization of thin FePt films and the subsequent patterning of magnetic lattice structures. These structures can be used to trap ultracold atoms for quantum simulation experiments. We use Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) to deposit monocrystalline FePt films with a thickness of 50 nm. The films are characterized with X-ray scattering and Mossbauer spectroscopy to determine the long range order parameter and the hard magnetic axes. A high monocrystalline fraction was measured as well as a strong remanent magnetization of M = 900 kA/m and coercivity of 0.4 T. Using Electron Beam Lithography (EBL) and argon ion milling we create lattice patterns with a period down to 200 nm, and a resolution of 30 nm. The resulting lattices are imaged in a Scanning Electron Microscope in cross-section created by a Focused Ion Beam. A lattice with continuously varying lattice constant ranging from 5 micrometer down to 250nm has been created to show the wide range of length scales that can now be created with this technique., 8 pages, 10 figures

We present the design of the magnetic lattice as well as the start-to-end simulation results for ultrashort electron bunch generation at the ARES (Accelerator Research Experiment at SINBAD) linac, which is one of the twoexperiments at the SINBAD facility. The MAX IV 3 GeV storage ring is presently being commissioned and crucial parameters such as machine functions, emittance, and stored current have either already been reached or are approaching their design specifications*. Once the baseline performance has been achieved, a campaign will be launched to further improve the brightness and coherence of this storage ring for typical x-ray users. During recent years, several such improvements have been designed**. Common to these approaches is that they attempt to improve the storage ring performance using existing hardware provided for the baseline design. Such improvements therefore present more short-term upgrades. In this paper, however, we investigate medium-term improvements assuming power supplies can be exchanged in an attempt to push the brightness and coherence of the storage ring to the limit of what can be achieved without exchanging the magnetic lattice itself. We report the trapping of ultracold 87Rb atoms in a 0.7 micron-period 2D triangular magnetic lattice on an atom chip. The magnetic lattice is created by a lithographically patterned magnetic Co/Pd multilayer film plus bias fields. Rubidium atoms in the F=1, mF=-1 low-field seeking state are trapped at estimated distances down to about 100 nm from the chip surface and with calculated mean trapping frequencies as high as 800 kHz. The measured lifetimes of the atoms trapped in the magnetic lattice are in the range 0.4 - 1.7 ms, depending on distance from the chip surface. Model calculations suggest the trap lifetimes are currently limited mainly by losses due to surface-induced thermal evaporation following loading of the atoms from the Z-wire trap into the very tight magnetic lattice traps, rather than by fundamental loss processes such as surface interactions, three-body recombination or spin flips due to Johnson magnetic noise. The trapping of atoms in a 0.7 micrometer-period magnetic lattice represents a significant step towards using magnetic lattices for quantum tunneling experiments and to simulate condensed matter and many-body phenomena in nontrivial lattice geometries.

Atom-to-molecule conversion by the technique of optical Feshbach resonance in a magnetic lattice is studied in the mean-field approximation. For the case of a shallow lattice, we give the dependence of the atomto-molecule conversion efficiency on tunnelling strength and atomic interaction by taking a double-well as an example. We find that one can obtain a high atom-to-molecule conversion by tuning the tunnelling and interaction strengths of the system. For the case of a deep lattice, we show that the existence of the lattice can improve the atom-to-molecule conversion for certain initial states.

We study the phase behavior and the collective dynamics of interacting paramagnetic colloids assembled above a honeycomb lattice of triangular shaped magnetic minima. A frustrated colloidal molecular crystal is realized when filling these potential minima with exactly two particles per pinning site. External in-plane rotating fields are used to anneal the system into different phases, including long range ordered stripes, random fully packed loops, labyrinth and disordered states. At a higher amplitude of the annealing field, the dimer lattice displays a two-step melting transition where the initially immobile dimers perform first localized rotations and later break up by exchanging particles across consecutive lattice minima.

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN pushes forward to new regimes in terms of beam energy and intensity. In view of the combination of very energetic and intense beams together with sensitive machine components, in particular the superconducting magnets, the LHC is equipped with a collimation system to provide protection and intercept uncontrolled beam losses. Beam losses could cause a superconducting magnet to quench, or in the worst case, damage the hardware. The collimation system, which is optimized to provide a good protection with proton beams, has shown a cleaning efficiency with heavy-ion beams which is worse by up to two orders of magnitude. The reason for this reduced cleaning efficiency is the fragmentation of heavy-ion beams into isotopes with a different mass to charge ratios because of the interaction with the collimator material. In order to ensure sufficient collimation performance in future ion runs, a detailed theoretical understanding of ion collimation is needed. The simulation of heavy-ion collimation must include processes in which Pb82+208 ions fragment into dozens of new isotopes. The ions and their fragments must be tracked inside the magnetic lattice of the LHC to determine their loss positions. This paper gives an overview of physical processes important for the description of heavy-ion loss patterns. Loss maps simulated by means of the two tools ICOSIM [1,2] and the newly developed STIER (SixTrack with Ion-Equivalent Rigidities) are compared with experimental data measured during LHC operation. We study spatial coherence near a classical environment by loading a Bose-Einstein condensate into a magnetic lattice potential and observing diffraction. Even very close to a surface (5$\,\mu$m), and even when the surface is at room temperature, spatial coherence persists for a relatively long time ($\ge$500$\,$ms). In addition, the observed spatial coherence extends over several lattice sites, a significantly greater distance than the atom-surface separation. This opens the door for atomic circuits, and may help elucidate the interplay between spatial dephasing, inter-atomic interactions, and external noise., Comment: 15 pages, 14 figures, revised for final publication. The spin dynamics of the molecular magnetic chain [Dy(hfac)(3){NIT(C6H4OPh)}] were investigated by means of the Muon Spin Relaxation (mu+SR) technique. This system consists of a magnetic lattice of alternating Dy(III) ions and radical spins, and exhibits single-chain-magnet behavior. The magnetic properties of [Dy(hfac)(3){NIT(C6H4OPh)}] have been studied by measuring the magnetization vs. temperature at different applied magnetic fields (H - 5, 3500, and 16500 Oe) and by performing mu+SR experiments vs. temperature in zero field and in a longitudinal applied magnetic field H - 3500 Oe. The muon asymmetry P(t) was fitted by the sum of three components, two stretched-exponential decays with fast and intermediate relaxation times, and a third slow exponential decay. The temperature dependence of the spin dynamics has been determined by analyzing the muon longitudinal relaxation rate lambda(interm)(T), associated with the intermediate relaxing component. The experimental lambda(interm)(T) data were fitted with a corrected phenomenological Bloembergen-Purcell-Pound law by using a distribution of thermally activated correlation times, which average to tau - tau(0) exp(Delta/k(B)T), corresponding to a distribution of energy barriers Delta. The correlation times can be associated with the spin freezing that occurs when the system condenses in the ground state. (C) 2015 AIP Publishing LLC.

The first stage of the project is to construct an Infra-Red Free Electron Laser (IR-FEL) facility. The second stage is to build a synchrotron radiation facility named TURKAY, which is a third generation synchrotron radiation light source that aims to achieve a high brilliance photon beam from a low emittance electron beam at 3 GeV. The electron beam parameters are highly dependent on the magnetic lattice of the storage ring. We study a two dimensional spin- 1 2 J 1 – J 2 antiferromagnet in a square lattice using the linearized spin wave theory recognizing the 4-sublattice nature of the underlying magnetic lattice. Multiple magnon modes with optical and acoustic branches about the stable Neel ordered and double acoustic branches about the columnar reference states are obtained for small and large values of λ ( = J 2 / J 1 ) respectively. An additional uniaxial anisotropy, for large λ , can lead to distinct spin gaps in such systems, as also witnessed experimentally. The single hole spectral behavior in a 2D t – J 1 – J 2 model, for small frustration, is then calculated within the non-crossing approximation. Our results match fairly well with exact diagonalization results from a 4×4 cluster. Hole spectral features and their evolution with λ resulting in “water-fall”-like smooth spectral weight transfer are discussed. Hole energy bands are identified and the corresponding energy-shift and reduction in width with spin-frustration are indicated.

We report the realization of a periodic array of Bose-Einstein condensates of 87Rb |F = 1; mF = -1> atoms trapped in a one-dimensional magnetic lattice close (8 micrometres) to the surface of an atom chip. A clear signature for the onset of BEC in the magnetic lattice is provided by in-situ site-resolved radiofrequency (RF) spectra, which exhibit a pronounced bimodal distribution consisting of a narrow component characteristic of a BEC together with a broad thermal cloud component. Similar bimodal distributions are found for various sites across the magnetic lattice. The realization of a periodic array of multiple BECs in a magnetic lattice represents a major advance towards the implementation of magnetic lattices to simulate many-body condensed matter phenomena in lattices of complex geometry and arbitrary period., 5 pages, 2 figures

A simple phenomenological real-space renormalization group method for quantum Heisenberg spins with nearest and next nearest neighbour interactions on a pyrochlore lattice is presented. Assuming a scaling law for the order parameter of two clusters of different sizes a set of coupled equations that gives the fixed points of the renormalization group transformation and, thus, the critical temperatures and ordered phases of the system is found. The particular case of spins $\frac{1}{2}$ is studied in detail. Furthermore, to simplify the mathematical details, from all the possible phases arising from the renormalization group transformation, only those phases in which the magnetic lattice is commensurate with a subdivision of the crystal lattice into four interlocked fcc sublattices are considered. These correspond to a quantum spin liquid, ferromagnetic order, or non-collinear order in which the total magnetic moment of a tetrahedral unit is zero. The corresponding phase diagram is constructed and the differences with respect to the classical model are analysed. It is found that this method reproduces fairly well the phase diagram of the pyrochlore lattice under the aforementioned constrains., 18 pages, 1 figure

Time resolved optical spectroscopy is used to elucidate the dynamics of photodoped spin-aligned carriers in the presence of an underlying magnetic lattice in the multiferroic compound TbMnO3. The transient responses while probing d-d intersite transitions show marked differences along different crystallographic directions, which are discussed in terms of the interplay between the processes of hopping of the photo-injected electrons and the magnetic order in the material.

Bloch points are magnetic topological defects. The discrete nature of a magnetic lattice creates a periodic potential that can pin a Bloch point. The pinning force is of the order of the exchange constant, a few piconewtons in a typical ferromagnet (permalloy). Disproportionation in 3d compounds can give rise to an unconventional electron-hole Bose liquid with a very rich phase diagram from a Bose metal, charge ordering insulator to an inhomogeneous Bose superfluid. Optimal conditions for the disproportionation driven high-T_c superconductivity are shown to realize only for several Jahn-Teller d^n configurations that permit the formation of well defined local composite bosons. These are the high-spin d^4, low-spin d^7, and d^9 configurations given the octahedral crystal field, and the d^1, high-spin d^6 configurations given the tetrahedral crystal field. The disproportionation reaction has a peculiar anti-Jahn- Teller character lifting the bare orbital degeneracy. Superconductivity in the d^4 and d^6 systems at variance with d^1, d^7, and d^9 systems implies an unavoidable coexistence of the spin-triplet composite bosons and a magnetic lattice. We argue that unconventional high-T_c superconductivity observed in quasi-2D cuprates with tetragonally distorted CuO_6 octahedra and iron-based layered pnictides/chalcogenides with tetrahedrally coordinated Fe^2+ ions can be a key argument supporting the disproportionation scenario is at work in these compounds., 29 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in Journal of Physics:Condensed Matter

We investigate the synthesis of a hyperfine spin lattice in an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate, with two hyperfine spin components, inside a one-dimensional high-finesse optical cavity, using off-resonant superradiant Raman scattering. Spatio-temporal evolution of the relative population of the hyperfine spin modes is examined numerically by solving the coupled cavity-condensate mean-field equations in the dispersive regime. We find, analytically and numerically, that beyond a certain threshold of the transverse laser pump, Raman superradiance and self-organization of the hyperfine spin components occur simultaneously and as a result a magnetic lattice is formed. Using Monte Carlo simulations and finite-size scaling, we investigate the critical behavior of two-dimensional magnetic lattice gas at densities rho = 0.90, 0.95, 1.0. There is a ferromagnetic phase transition at each density. As expected, the critical temperature T-c depends on system density rho. Unexpectedly, there is a density dependence of the critical exponent of correlation length v. For densities rho = 0.90, 0.95, 1.0, we obtain the inverse of critical exponent 1/v = 0.835(5), 0.905(5), 1.00(1) respectively. It is found that the ratios of critical exponent beta/v and gamma/v of magnetization and susceptibility are independent of density.

To shed light on the role of magnetism on the superconducting mechanism of the oxygen-free FeAs pnictides, we investigate the effect of magnetic ordering on phonon dynamics in the low-temperature orthorhombic parent compounds, which present a spin density wave. The study covers both the 122 (AFe(2)As(2); A = Ca, Sr, Ba) and 1111 (AFeAsF; A = Ca, Sr) phases. We extend our recent work on the Ca (122 and 1111) and Ba (122) cases by treating, computationally and experimentally, the 122 and 1111 Sr compounds. The effect of magnetic ordering is investigated through detailed non-magnetic and magnetic lattice dynamical calculations. The comparison of the experimental and calculated phonon spectra shows that the magnetic interactions/ordering have to be included in order to reproduce well the measured density of states. This highlights a spin-correlated phonon behavior which is more pronounced than the apparently weak electron-phonon coupling estimated in these materials. Furthermore, there is no noticeable difference between phonon spectra of the 122 Ba and Sr, whereas there are substantial differences when comparing these to CaFe(2)As(2) originating from different aspects of structure and bonding.

Spin-frustrated systems are one avenue for inducing macroscopic quantum states in materials. However, experimental realization of this goal has been difficult because of the lack of simple materials and, if available, the separation of the unusual magnetic properties arising from exotic magnetic states from behavior associated with chemical disorder, such as site mixing. Here we report the synthesis and magnetic properties of a new series of magnetically frustrated materials, MgxCu4-x(OH)6Cl2. Because of the substantially different ligand-field chemistry of Mg2+ and Cu2+, site disorder within the kagom\'e layers is minimized, as directly measured by X-ray diffraction. Our results reveal that many of the properties of these materials and related systems are not due to disorder of the magnetic lattice but rather reflect an unusual ground state., Comment: Accepted for publication in J. We introduce a diffusion model for energetically inhomogeneous systems. A random walker moves on a spin-S Ising configuration, which generates the energy landscape on the lattice through the nearest-neighbors interaction. The underlying energetic environment is also made dynamic by properly coupling the walker with the spin lattice. In fact, while the walker hops across nearest-neighbor sites, it can flip the pertaining spins, realizing a diffusive dynamics for the Ising system. As a result, the walk is biased towards high energy regions, namely the boundaries between clusters. Besides, the coupling introduced involves, with respect the ordinary diffusion laws, interesting corrections depending on either the temperature and the spin magnitude. In particular, they provide a further signature of the phase-transition occurring on the magnetic lattice.

The magnetic lattice of mixed-valence Mn ions in La$_{0.7}$Sr$_{0.3}$MnO$_{3}$ is selectively diluted by partial substitution of Al or Ti for Mn. The ferromagnetic transition temperature $T_\mathrm{c}$ and the saturation magnetization $M_\mathrm{s}$ both decrease with substitution. By presenting the data in terms of selective dilution, $T_\mathrm{c}$ in the low-doping region is found to follow the relation $T_\mathrm{c}=T_\mathrm{c0}(1-n_\mathrm{p})$, where $T_\mathrm{c0}$ refers to the undiluted system and $n_\mathrm{p}$ is the dilution concentration defined as $n_\mathrm{p}=x/0.7$ or $n_\mathrm{p}=x/0.3$ for $M^\prime=$ Al or Ti, respectively. The scaling behavior of $T_\mathrm{c}(n_\mathrm{p})$ can be analyzed in the framework of the molecular-field theory and still valid when Mn is substituted by both Al and Ti. We investigate experimentally and theoretically the superconducting properties of an Al thin film covering a periodic array of $\mathrm{Co}∕\mathrm{Pt}$ magnetic disks with out-of-plane magnetization for different radii of the magnetic disks and constant period of the magnetic lattice. The presence of the arrays of magnetic dots leads to a quantized displacement of the normal/superconducting phase boundary along the magnetic field axis, with each step corresponding to a flux-quantum per unit cell of the magnetic lattice. We demonstrate that this so-called field-induced superconductivity is strongly dependent not only on the chosen magnetic material and its magnetization $M$ but also on the radius $R$ of the constructed magnetic disks. Since field-induced superconductivity is directly linked to the nucleation of vortex-antivortex (V-AV) pairs, a theoretical $M\text{\ensuremath{-}}R$ equilibrium phase boundary is presented, delimiting regions of different numbers of induced V-AV pairs per magnet. A good qualitative and quantitative agreement is found between theory and experiment.

We report on a class of configurations of permanent magnets on an atom chip for producing 1D and 2D periodic arrays of magnetic microtraps with non-zero potential minima and variable barrier height for trapping and manipulating ultracold atoms and quantum degenerate gases. We present analytical expressions for the relevant physical quantities and compare them with our numerical results and with some previous numerical calculations. In one of the configurations of permanent magnets, we show how it is possible by changing the angle between the crossed periodic arrays of magnets to go from a 1D array of 2D microtraps to a 2D array of 3D microtraps and thus to continuously vary the barrier heights between the microtraps. This suggests the possibility of performing a type of `mechanical' BEC to Mott insulator quantum phase transition in a magnetic lattice. Volborthite Cu 3 V 2 O 7 ( OH ) 2 · 2 H 2 O is a natural frustrated antiferromagnet with a kagome-like magnetic lattice decorated by S = 1 2 spins. Our μ SR results confirm the existence of a dynamical plateau below 2 K, as initially demonstrated in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 91 (2003) 207603] despite sensible quantitative differences in the relaxation rate values. Thanks to additional low temperature SQUID and NMR data we show that this plateau occurs concurrently with a freezing transition. Moreover, we revisited the effect of diluting the magnetic lattice for small dilution rates between 1% and 15%. Comparison is made with the well studied kagome bilayer compounds. The ground state of volborthite appears to be far less stable with respect to dilution.

We investigate the field-induced insulator-to-superfluid transition of bosonic quasiparticles in $S=1/2$ weakly-coupled dimer antiferromagnets. In presence of realistic disorder due to site dilution of the magnetic lattice, we show that the system displays an extended Bose-glass phase characterized by the localization of the hard-core quasiparticles., 12 pages, 4 figures. Magnetic susceptibility and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of exquisite two-dimensional supramolecular assembly of [bis(�- aminoisobutyrato)oxalamidodicopper](Aib-COCO-Aib)Cu 2 were studied. The temperature dependent magnetic susceptibility studies reveal temperature dependency of the exchange coupling constant. Single crystal EPR studies both at X- and Q-bands show the two-dimensional nature of magnetic lattice and yield the weak intermodular exchange coupling constant in presence of strong intramodular exchange. The intermodular coupling is about five orders of magnitude smaller than the intramodular coupling but it produces a broadening and coalescence of the EPR lines. Tracking simulations show that if the periodicity is perturbed (by focusing errors for example), non-linear resonances become excited, which causes a reduction in the dynamic aperture. Therefore it is important to have a method to measure and correct perturbed periodicity.In this paper we study the effect of broken and restored periodicity at an actual third generation light source: the Advanced Light Source (ALS) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. First we show that it is possible to accurately determine the storage ring optic and thus theperturbation of the periodicity by fitting measured orbit response matrices. This method allows us to determine individual field gradient errors in quadrupoles and closed orbit errors in sextupoles. By varying individual quadrupole field strengths it is possible to correct the optic, largely restoring the lattice periodicity. A comparison is made of the performance of the ALS before and after the optic is corrected. Measurements of the electron beam tails and the synchrotron light image reveal a large suppression in resonance excitation after the optic is corrected. 17th IEEE Particle Accelerator Conference, PAC 97, Vancouver, USA, 12 May 1997 - 16 May 1997; 65 pp. (1997)., Integration of an X-Ray Free Electron Laser facility is planned in the TESLA design for a future $e^+e^−$ Linear Collider. In the present scheme, the FEL drive beam is transported to a central user facility in a several km long beamline. In this paper we present how the longitudinal wakefield effect for short bunches in combination with a special beamline magnetic lattice can be used to obtain compression down to an rms-bunch length in the range of a few $\mu$m. Peak current of more than 50 kA would enable the X-Ray FEL facility to generate photon wave lengths in the sub-Angstrom regime.

The magnetic lattice of the TeV electron superconducting linear accelerator (TESLA) will consist of superconducting quadrupoles for beam focusing and superconducting correction dipoles for beam steering, incorporated in the cryostats containing the superconducting cavities. This report describes the design of these magnets, presenting details of the magnetic as well as the mechanical design. The measured characteristics of the TESLA Test Facility (TTF) quadrupoles and dipoles are compared to the results obtained from numerical computations.

In this paper we study the energy spectrum of a two dimensional electron gas (2DEG) in a two dimensional periodic magnetic field. Both a square magnetic lattice and a triangular one are considered. We consider the general case where the magnetic field in a cell can be of any shape. A general feature of the band structure is bandwidth oscillation as a function of the Landau index. A triangular magnetic lattice on a 2DEG can be realized by the vortex lattice of a superconductor film coated on top of a heterojunction. Our calculation indicates a way of relating the energy spectrum of the 2DEG to the vortex structure. We have also derived conditions under which the effects of a weak magnetic modulation, periodic or not, may be reproduced by an electric potential modulation, and vice versa., 16 pages in TeX and 5 uuencoded figures

The SOLEIL project is built around a 2.15 GeV positron storage ring with its own injector, i.e. a linear accelerator and a booster. The scientific community have required a large number of insertion devices optimized in the soft X-ray range and the ultra-violet, several operation modes offering a high brilliance or a usable time structure with a maximum beam lifetime. The choice of the machine energy, of positrons circulating as particles, of the magnetic lattice, and the type of radio-frequency, etc. will be discussed through a more detailed presentation of the machine. Comments will be made about the tolerances required for the beam and the implications for the building stability.
