A series of double-perovskite SrGd1−xLiTeO6:xSm3+ phosphors were made using the solid-state reaction approach, and the effects of various Sm3+ doping concentrations on the luminescence characteristics were investigated. In the range from 350 to 500 nm, several absorption bands of Sm3+ ions can be seen in the diffuse reflectance spectrum of SrGd0.97LiTeO6:0.03Sm3+. Under 406 nm excitation, the photoluminescent spectra show it has efficient orange–red emission, owing to the transitions of 4G5/2 to 6H5/2, 4G5/2 to 6H7/2, 4G5/2 to 6H9/2 and 4G5/2 to 6H11/2, respectively. The synthesized phosphors have relatively thermal stability properties, with the temperature goes up to 425 K, the luminescence intensity remains at 85% of its original value. These results demonstrate the SrGd1-xLiTeO6:xSm3+ phosphors are expected to be used as near UV excited phosphors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Epoxy methacrylate resin (EMA) UV-curable coatings exhibit high reactivity, low viscosity and excellent chemical resistance in environmentally friendly coatings. A novel EMA containing phthalazinone moieties for high temperature resistant UV-curable coatings was synthesized. The formulations were cured with hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA) and trimethylol propane triacrylate (TMPTA) as reactive diluents promoted by a photoinitiator, and then interpenetrating polymer networks were generated. The mechanical, chemical and thermal properties of the clear coatings were characterized using Chinese National Standard methods (GB). EMA was used with UV radiation curing in combination with 6.7 wt% of HDDA and 13.4 wt% of TMPTA, and the properties of the cured films were as follows: pencil hardness of 5 H, 30% NaOH resistance for 30 days, 15% HCl resistance for 10 days, 3% NaCl resistance for 30 days and 5% weight loss temperature of 300.5 °C. EMA UV-curable coatings containing phthalazinone exhibit excellent chemical and thermal stability, and could be potential candidates for UV-curable zero volatile organic compound coatings applied in the fields of salt spray corrosion, strong radiation and high-temperature resistance. • A series of flavonoid analogues were designed and synthesized. • The aimed compounds for urease inhibitory activities were superior to thiourea. • Compound L2 and L12 show the most potent inhibitory activities. • The action mode and druggability were explored. A series of novel flavonoid analogues were designed and synthesized. The aimed compounds for urease inhibitory activities were clearly superior to the control drug thiourea (more than 10 times). Among these compounds, L2 (IC 50 = 1.343 µM) and L12 (IC 50 = 1.207 µM) exhibited the most excellent urease inhibitory activity in vitro. The molecular dockings of L2, L12 and L22 into urease were performed to explore the binding modes and their structure-activity relationship.
