To clarify the response characteristics of broomcorn millet yield and quality to various fertilizers under low nitrogen conditions, the present study investigated the effects of different fertilization treatments, including no fertilization (HCK, CCK), urea (HF1, CF1), phosphate fertilizer (HF2, CF2), compound fertilizer (HF3, CF3), and organic fertilizer (HF4, CF4), on the agronomic traits, quality, and starch pasting properties of proso millet. As experimental materials, non-waxy proso millet (Hequ red proso millet, denoted as HQH) and waxy proso millet (Chishu 1, denoted as CS1) were utilized. The results showed that under low nitrogen conditions, urea treatment (HF1) significantly increased plant height and yield, and phosphate fertilizer treatment (HF2) significantly increased thousand-grain weight (TW). For waxy proso millet Chishu NO.1 (CS1), urea treatment (CF1) significantly increased yield, phosphate fertilizer treatment (CF2) significantly influenced the height of the plants, and compound fertilizer treatment (CF3) significantly increased thousand-grain weight. In terms of quality, phosphate fertilizer treatment (CF2) and organic fertilizer treatment (CF4) resulted in a substantial augmentation of both the total starch content and amylose content of waxy proso millet Chishu NO.1 (CS1), respectively, and organic fertilizer treatment (HF4, CF4) resulted in a notable enhancement of the protein content of proso millet. Organic fertilizer treatment (HF4) increased peak viscosity (PV), hot viscosity (HV), setback viscosity (SV), final viscosity (FV), breakdown viscosity (BV), pasting time (PTim), and pasting temperature (PTemp) of non-waxy proso millet. Phosphate fertilizer treatment (CF2) increased the peak viscosity (PV), hot viscosity (HV), breakdown viscosity (BV), final viscosity (FV), pasting time (PTim), and pasting temperature (PTemp) of waxy proso millet. Organic fertilizer treatment (HF4) and phosphate fertilizer treatment (CF2) under low nitrogen were the most effective in improving the comprehensive quality of non-waxy and waxy proso millet, respectively. The findings of our research elucidated the impacts of various fertilizers on the productivity and quality of non-waxy and waxy proso millet in nitrogen-deficient environments. Furthermore, this research offered a conceptual underpinning for attaining enhanced cultivation outcomes, encompassing both improved yield and quality, of proso millet in drought-prone regions. Purpose: This study examined the prevalence of different weight status and the relationships between weight status and physical fitness among Chinese children and youth. Methods: Participants were 107,206 Grade 4 children and 70,213 Grade 8 youth from the China National Assessment of Educational Quality -- Physical Education & Health in 2015 (CNAEQ-PEH 2015). Using World Health Organization (WHO) and US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) criteria, weight status was divided into four groups (underweight, normal weight, overweight, and obese) according to Body Mass Index (BMI). The differences of physical fitness performances (15-m progressive aerobic cardiovascular endurance run [PACER], standing long jump, and 50-m sprint) among four weight status groups were compared. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, MANCOVA, and Cohen's d. Results: The prevalence of weight status varied by criteria (e.g., for Grade 4 boys, the prevalence of underweight by WHO and CDC were 5.9% and 10.5%; overweight were 14.5% and 11.4%, respectively). Compared with the normal weight group, the selected physical fitness performances in the overweight and obese groups were worse (p < 0.001) with small to large effect sizes. Conclusion: The prevalence of underweight and overweight/obese was relatively high among Chinese children and youth. The prevalence of underweight, overweight, and obesity varied slightly depending on the criteria used for evaluating BMI. The overweight/obese participants tended to perform poorer in selected physical fitness tests. The performance disparities between the normal weight group and overweight/obese groups were larger in Grade 4 than in Grade 8 and among boys than among girls.

The global incidence of invasive fungal infections (IFIs) has increased over the past few decades, mainly in immunocompromised patients, and is associated with high mortality and morbidity. Aspergillus fumigatus is one of the most common and deadliest IFI pathogens. Major hurdles to treating fungal infections remain the lack of rapid and definitive diagnosis, including the frequent need for invasive procedures to provide microbiological confirmation, and the lack of specificity of structural imaging methods. To develop an Aspergillus-specific positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent, we focused on fungal-specific sugar metabolism. We radiolabeled cellobiose, a disaccharide known to be metabolized by Aspergillus species, and synthesized 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluorocellobiose ([18F]FCB) by enzymatic conversion of 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoroglucose ([18F]FDG) with a radiochemical yield of 60 to 70%, a radiochemical purity of >98%, and 1.5 hours of synthesis time. Two hours after [18F]FCB injection in A. fumigatus pneumonia as well as A. fumigatus, bacterial, and sterile inflammation myositis mouse models, retained radioactivity was only seen in foci with live A. fumigatus infection. In vitro testing confirmed production of β-glucosidase enzyme by A. fumigatus and not by bacteria, resulting in hydrolysis of [18F]FCB into glucose and [18F]FDG, the latter being retained by the live fungus. The parent molecule was otherwise promptly excreted through the kidneys, resulting in low background radioactivity and high target-to-nontarget ratios at A. fumigatus infectious sites. We conclude that [18F]FCB is a promising and clinically translatable Aspergillus-specific PET tracer. This study aimed to elucidate responses of the bacterial structure and diversity of the rhizosphere in flowering broomcorn millet after rehydration following drought stress. In this study, the broomcorn millet varieties 'Hequ red millet' (A1) and 'Yanshu No.10′ (A2), known for their different drought tolerance levels, were selected as experimental materials. The plants were subjected to rehydration after drought stress at the flowering stage, while normal watering (A1CK and A2CK) served as the control. Soil samples were collected at 10 days (A11, A21, A1CK1, and A2CK1) and 20 days (A12, A22, A1CK2, and A2CK2) after rehydration. High-throughput sequencing technology was employed to investigate the variations in bacterial community structure, diversity, and metabolic functions in the rhizosphere of the broomcorn millet at different time points following rehydration. The findings indicated that the operational taxonomic units (OTUs) of bacteria in the rhizosphere of broomcorn millet were notably influenced by the duration of treatment, with a significant decrease in OTUs observed after 20 days of rehydration. However, bacterial Alpha diversity was not significantly impacted by rehydration following drought stress. The bacterial community in the rhizosphere of broomcorn millet was mainly composed of Actinobacteria and Proteobacteria. After rewatering for 10 to 20 days after drought stress, the abundance of Sphingomonas and Aeromicrobium in the rhizosphere soil of the two varieties of broomcorn millet decreased gradually. Compared with Yanshu No.10, the abundance of Pseudarthrobacter in the rhizosphere of Hequ red millet gradually increased. A Beta diversity analysis revealed variations in the dissimilarities of the bacterial community which corresponded to different rehydration durations. The relative abundance of bacterial metabolic functions in the rhizosphere of broomcorn millet was lower after 20 days of rehydration, compared to measurements after 10 days of rehydration. This observation might be attributed to the exchange of materials between broomcorn millet and microorganisms during the initial rehydration stage to repair the effects of drought, as well as to the enrichment of numerous microorganisms to sustain the stability of the community structure. This study helps to comprehend the alterations to the bacterial structure and diversity in the rhizosphere of broomcorn millet following drought stress and rehydration. It sheds light on the growth status of broomcorn millet and its rhizosphere microorganisms under real environmental influences, thereby enhancing research on the drought tolerance mechanisms of broomcorn millet. In order to clarify the effect of different fertilizers on foxtail millet quality under low nitrogen conditions, we used JGNo.21 and LZGNo.2 as experimental materials and set up five treatments, including non-fertilization, nitrogen, phosphorus, compound, and organic fertilizers, to study the regulation of different fertilizer types on agronomic traits, nutrient fractions, and pasting characteristics of foxtail millet under low nitrogen conditions. Compared with the control, all of the fertilizers improved the agronomic traits of JGNo.21 to a certain extent. Nitrogen and compound fertilizer treatments reduced the starch content of JGNo.21; the starch content was reduced by 0.55% and 0.07% under nitrogen and compound fertilizers treatments. Phosphorus and organic fertilizers increased starch content, and starch content increased by 0.50% and 0.56% under phosphorus and organic fertilizer treatments. The effect of each fertilizer treatment on protein content was completely opposite to that of starch; different fertilizer treatments reduced the fat content of JGNo.21 and increased the fiber content. Among them, nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers increased the yellow pigment content; the yellow pigment content increased by 1.21% and 2.64% under nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer treatments. Organic and compound fertilizers reduced the content of yellow pigment; the yellow pigment content was reduced by 3.36% and 2.79% under organic and compound fertilizer treatments. Nitrogen and organic fertilizers increased the fat content of LZGNo.2; the fat content increased by 2.62% and 1.98% under nitrogen, organic fertilizer treatment. Compound and phosphorus fertilizer decreased the fat content; the fat content decreased by 2.16% and 2.90% under compound and phosphorus fertilizer treatment. Different fertilizer treatments reduced the cellulose and yellow pigment content of LZGNo.2. The content of essential, non-essential, and total amino acids of JGNo.21 was increased under compound and nitrogen fertilizer treatments and decreased under organic and phosphorus fertilizer treatments. The content of essential, non-essential, and total amino acids of LZGNo.2 was significantly higher under compound, nitrogen, and organic fertilizer treatments compared with control and significantly decreased under phosphorus fertilizer treatments. Nitrogen and compound fertilizer treatments significantly reduced the values of peak viscosity, trough viscosity, breakdown viscosity, final viscosity, setback viscosity, and pasting time of each index of JGNo.21; phosphorus and organic fertilizer treatments improved the values of each index. In contrast, the pasting viscosity of LZGNo.2 increased under phosphorus fertilizer treatment and decreased under nitrogen fertilizer treatment. The coal pillar is an important structure to control the stability of the roadway surrounding rock and maintain the safety of underground mining activities. An unreasonable design of the coal pillar size can result in the failure of the surrounding rock structure or waste of coal resources. The northern Shaanxi mining area of China belongs to the shallow buried coal seam mining in the gully area, and the gully topography makes the bearing law of the coal pillar and the development law of the internal fracture more complicated. In this study, based on the geological conditions of the Longhua Mine 20202 working face, a PFC2D numerical model was established to study the damage characteristics of coal pillars under the different overlying strata base load ratios in the gentle terrain area and the different gully slope sections in the gully terrain area, and the coal pillar design strategy based on the fractal characteristics of the fractures was proposed to provide a reference for determining the width of the coal pillars in mines under similar geological conditions. The results show that the reliability of the mathematical equation between the overlying strata base load ratio and the fractal dimension of the fractures in the coal pillar is high, the smaller the overlying strata base load ratio is, the greater the damage degree of the coal pillar is, and the width of the coal pillar of 15 m under the condition of the actual overlying strata base load ratio (1.19) is more reasonable. Compared with the gentle terrain area, the damage degree of the coal pillar in the gully terrain area is larger, in which the fractal dimension of the fracture in the coal pillar located below the gully bottom is the smallest, and the coal pillar in the gully terrain should be set as far as possible to make the coal pillar located below the gully bottom, so as to ensure the stability of the coal pillar.
