In recent years, smart fisheries, as an emerging model for fishery development, have become a research hotspot in the fishery and aquaculture industries of many countries. Smart fisheries can be thought of as a system that combines techniques for raising, catching, or selling aquatic products to improve production and sustainable development. Smart fisheries are crucial to improving fishery and aquaculture management. In this study, a comprehensive analysis was conducted using bibliometric analysis, the results of which are presented through visual mapping and data charts. This study collected data from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database and compared it with the WoS database. A total of 949 articles were retrieved on topics related to smart fisheries, including 579 articles from WoS and 370 articles from CNKI. The results present the visualization and analysis of annual publications, author collaboration maps, research collaboration institutions, keywords, etc. The development of smart fisheries in China is obviously different from that in foreign countries. China attaches great importance to technology and production, while foreign countries focus on environmental issues. Therefore, this study helps us to understand the current research status, research hotspots, and future development directions of smart fisheries, providing certain references for future management. Radioactive iodine, existing in the resulting nuclear waste, represents a potential hazard to the environment and human beings. Therefore, efficient disposal methods for radioiodine are needed. Curcumin-based ionic liquids (CILs) could break the intramolecular hydrogen bond and form an intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interaction between cations and anions, making it easier to interact with molecules such as water. Hence, we prepared two types of CILs ([Emim][Cur] and [Bmim][Cur]), that could capture iodine. The capacities of [Emim][Cur] and [Bmim][Cur] are as high as 5.13 g g−1 and 5.14 g g−1, respectively, and the iodine amount in cyclohexane is up to 1463 mg g−1 and 1395 mg g−1 corresponding to [Emim][Cur] and [Bmim][Cur] after iodine capture for 12 hours. The presence of carbonyl, ether, and phenol hydroxyl groups induces charge transfer which leads to the formation of polyiodide anions, as revealed by FT-IR, Raman, and XPS spectra. The density functional theory (DFT) analysis further confirms that the high iodine capture capacity of [Emim][Cur] and [Bmim][Cur] stems from hydrogen bond reconstruction and the strong halogen bond between iodine and keto oxygen. The rapid reduction in coral reefs worldwide has led to increasing attention toward protecting and restoring coral reef ecosystems. Coral reefs not only have a rich diversity of coral species, but they can also provide important products and services for human beings. One type of coral, Echinogorgia, has important scientific research value and application prospects. To understand the diversity of coral species, diving surveys were conducted in Xiamen Bay in 2017 and 2021, and a total of 928 samples were collected. Taxonomic research was conducted using methods such as morphological identification through electron microscopy. Specific phylogenetic trees of the COI gene, mtMuts gene, and ITS1 gene were analyzed. There were 47 specimens of Echinogorgia coral included among 928 samples. Fifteen species of Echinogorgia were identified, including Echinogorgia ramosa, Echinogorgia flexilis, Echinogorgia russelli, Echinogorgia ramulosa, and Echinogorgia gracilima (which represent the newly recorded species in the waters of China). This study increases the species diversity records in China and contributes to new geographical distribution information of Echinogorgia worldwide. Lead halide perovskite solar cells still have potential lead leakage under the influence of natural forces, which has attracted widespread attention. In future large‐scale applications, it is necessary to monitor and control the concentration of lead in the environment according to local laws and regulations. In this work, the coupling strategy of inorganic perovskite crystallization and photoluminescence is proposed for the first time to achieve the detection of lead in the environment. An easy‐to‐use, low‐cost, and portable PVA/C6mimBr/CsBr ionogel (PCCI) device is prepared through solution process for on‐site detection of Pb(II). The limit detection of PCCI is 236 mg kg−1, which is close to and lower than the statutory standard of 250 mg kg−1 in China's agricultural regulations, and is expected to achieve on‐site early‐warning. The study of gene diversity in interspecies contributes to our understanding of the environmental adaptation, evolutionary history, origin, and stability of biodiversity. Crabs are the main component of the macrobenthos community; therefore, how crabs adapt to different environments can be a guide to understand how to maintain community diversity. Previous studies on environmental adaptation have focused on differences in morphology, organ structure, and function, but there is a lack of research that explores this topic from the perspective of gene diversity in benthonic crabs. In this study, the leucosiid crab was selected for transcriptome assembly and was analyzed as this superfamily is one of the main clades in brachyuran crabs. Their transcriptome data were used to understand the gene diversity, phylogeny, and divergence time estimations. Subsequently, candidate gene families for depth adaptation were found in eight species that live in habitats with different depths. The results indicated that the number of total unigene sequences was between 65,617 (Philyra malefactrix) and 98,279 (Arcania heptacantha) in eight species. The total length of the genes was counted to be between 48,006,211 and 95,471,088 bp. The age of the superfamily Leucosioidea is over 150 Ma, dating back to at least the Jurassic geological period. The divergence of the family Leucosiidae would have occurred in the middle Cretaceous (around 100 Ma). After dividing into groups of three depth types, which carried the gene families, it was found that the three groups shared the solute carrier family, whereas bile acid secretion, organic solute transporter subunit alpha-like, and solute carrier organic anion transporter families only existed in the shallow group. This result shown that the gene function of ion concentration regulation might one of the candidate gene families related to the environmental adaptation of the leucosiid crab. Coral reefs provide a habitat for many marine organisms and support the safety, coastal protection, well-being, and food and economic security of hundreds of millions of people. The focus on coral species diversity cannot be overemphasized. One of them, Astrogorgia, contains many marine natural active substances, and has important scientific research value and application prospects. Most of the current research on the active substances of the genus Astrogorgia is based on unidentified species, and in-depth taxonomic studies are urgently needed. A total of 1185 samples were collected from 2014 to 2021 in the waters of Xiamen Bay. Herein, the morphological identification, electronic microscopy, and gene fragment sequencing methods were used for the taxonomic study. There are three species of Astrogorgia identified, including Astrogorgia lafoa, A. arborea, and A. dumbea. Among them, A. lafoa and A. arborea are newly recorded species in the waters of China. A. lafoa is distributed in Qingyu Island, A. arborea is distributed in Wuyu Island, and A. dumbea is widely distributed in Baiha Reef, Qingyu Island, Wuyu Island, and Xiaobai Island. In this paper, the geographical distribution and the habits of 18 species of Astrogorgia are summarized, and the evolution of family and genus classification of Astrogorgia is discussed. It is very desirable to develop advanced sustainable biomedical materials with superior biosafety and bioactivity for clinical applications. Herein, biomass‐derived multilayer‐structured absorbable microparticles (MQxTy) composed of starches and plant polyphenols are readily constructed for the safe and effective treatment of bone defects with intractable bleeding by coating multiple layers of quaternized starch (Q+) and tannic acid onto microporous starch microparticles via facile layer‐by‐layer assembly. MQxTy microparticles exhibit efficient degradability, low cytotoxicity, and good blood compatibility. Among various MQxTy microparticles with distinct Q+/T− double layers, MQ2T2 with outmost polyphenol layer possess the unique properties of platelet adhesion/activation and red blood cell aggregation, resulting in the best hemostatic performance. In a mouse cancellous‐bone‐defect model, MQ2T2 exhibits the favorable hemostatic effect, low inflammation/immune responses, high biodegradability, and promoted bone repair. A proof‐of‐concept study of beagles further confirms the good performance of MQ2T2 in controlling intractable bleeding of bone defects. Background: Tumor budding (TB) has emerged as a promising independent prognostic biomarker in colorectal cancer (CRC). The prognostic role of TB has been extensively studied and currently affects clinical decision making in patients with stage I and II CRC. However, existing prognostic studies on TB in stage III CRC have been confined to small retrospective cohort studies. Consequently, this study investigated the correlation among TB categories, clinicopathological features, and prognosis in stage III-IV CRC to further enhance the precision and individualization of treatment through refined prognostic risk stratification., Aim: To analyze the relationship between TB categories and clinicopathological characteristics and assess their prognostic value in stage III-IV CRC to further refine the prognostic risk stratification of stage III-IV CRC., Methods: The clinical data of 547 CRC patients were collected for this retrospective study. Infiltration at the front edge of the tumor buds was counted according to the 2016 International Tumor Budding Consensus Conference guidelines., Results: Multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression analysis demonstrated that chemotherapy ( P = 0.004), clinical stage IV ( P < 0.001), ≥ 4 regional lymph node metastases ( P = 0.004), left-sided colonic cancer ( P = 0.040), and Bd 2-3 ( P = 0.002) were independent prognostic factors in patients with stage III-IV CRC. Moreover, the density of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes was higher in Bd 1 than in Bd 2-3, both in the tumor stroma and its invasive margin., Conclusion: TB has an independent predictive prognostic value in patients with stage III-IV CRC. Background: Maxillofacial deformities are skeletal discrepancies that cause occlusal, functional, and esthetic problems, and are managed by multi-disciplinary treatment, including careful orthodontic, surgical, and periodontal evaluations. However, thin periodontal phenotype is often overlooked although it affects the therapeutic outcome. Gingival augmentation and periodontal accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO) can effectively modify the periodontal phenotype and improve treatment outcome. We describe the multi-disciplinary approaches used to manage a case of skeletal Class III malocclusion and facial asymmetry, with thin periodontal phenotype limiting the correction of deformity., Case Summary: A patient with facial asymmetry and weakness in chewing had been treated with orthodontic camouflage, but the treatment outcome was not satisfactory. After examination, gingiva augmentation and PAOO were performed to increase the volume of both the gingiva and the alveolar bone to allow further tooth movement. After orthodontic decompensation, double-jaw surgery was performed to reposition the maxilla-mandibular complex. Finally, implant placement and chin molding were performed to restore the dentition and to improve the skeletal profile. Vascular endothelium plays an important role in regulating vascular homeostasis. Over the past years, it has become clear that endothelial dysfunction is a key event of pathophysiological changes in the initiation and progression of injuries induced by extreme environmental factors. The present review summarizes current understanding of vascular endothelial dysfunction induced by hypoxia, cold and heat, and provides the information for prevention and treatment of environmental exposure injuries.

Acclimatization is a process of biological adaptation when exposed to environmental factors such as hypoxia, cold and heat for prolonged periods of time, where non-genetical variations play a role in allowing subjects to tolerate hypoxic, cold or hot environments. This review focuses on the characteristics and mechanisms of acclimatization found through major research advances by our institute. First, the mechanisms underlying the acclimatization to extreme environments are complex. In our investigations, the physiological changes of multiple systems including the nervous, circulatory, respiratory, and hemopoietic system were demonstrated when the acclimatization to hypoxia was developed, and the underlying significance of hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) was investigated. Second, it is suggested that the development of acclimatization to extreme environments is complicated. Hypoxia and cold coexist at high altitude. Our investigations revealed the characteristics of negative cross-relationship in the acclimatization to hypoxia and cold. And third, it is interesting for us to understand that acclimatization to extreme environments is transferable among individuals, and the characteristics of heat acclimatization-inducing factor (HAlF) were presented. The above findings will provide a theoretical guidance for protective operations and help to establish a solid foundation for future research related to acclimatization.

A new chemo-enzymatic route to both isomers of 2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutyric acid is reported. The key step is the lactonase-catalyzed hydrolysis of cis- and trans-2-hydroxy-4-phenyl-4-butyrolactones followed by hydrogenation over Pd/C to afford optically pure 2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutyric acid.
