Modern food microbiology is a core compulsory course of Food Science and Engineering and an important course in the teaching system of Food majors. We have conducted a research on teaching reform in response to the current problems of outdated teaching content, single teaching methods, and unscientific teaching assessment methods in curriculum teaching. We have taken multiple strategies, including introducing hot cases related to food microbiology in class to update the teaching content, encouraging students to conduct microbiological thematic discussions and presentations in class, adding feedbacks after the “homework submission-review scoring” to achieve a closed-loop teaching. After three rounds of teaching reform practice, the students’ feedback was good, and the teaching effects of modern food microbiology has been significantly improved.

Pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD) is a prevalent and aggressive malignancy in the digestive tract, requiring accurate prediction and effective treatment strategies. Recently, the discovery of disulfidptosis, a novel form of programmed cell death characterized by abnormal disulfide accumulation, has sparked interest in its role in PAAD. In this study, we aimed to investigate the involvement of disulfidptosis-related genes (DRGs) in PAAD. Using publicly available databases, we conducted a comprehensive analysis exploring the complex relationships between DRGs and important aspects of PAAD, including gene expression, immune response, mutation, drug sensitivity, and functional enrichment. Notably, we observed significant heterogeneity among different disulfidptosis subclusters and identified specific differentially expressed genes in PAAD. Through machine learning techniques, we identified SLC7A11, S100A4, DIAPH3, PRDX1, and SLC7A7 as the most relevant hub genes. We further validated their significance in PAAD by considering their expression patterns, prognostic value, diagnostic potential, diagnostic model, and immune infiltration. This study presents exciting opportunities and challenges in unraveling the underlying mechanisms of PAAD prognosis. It also establishes a foundation for personalized cancer care and the development of innovative immunotherapeutic strategies. By shedding light on the role of DRGs, particularly hub genes, we enhance our understanding and management of PAAD.

A brief introduction of Chinese Hygrobatidae taxonomy is reviewed. A new species, Sinibates xinyaoae Li, Smit & Guo sp. nov. from Hainan province is described representing a new genus Sinibates Li, Smit & Guo gen. nov. A second species, Hygrobates (Minibates) cf. dobriyali Pešić & Smit, 2019, from Hunan province represents a new subgenus, Minibates Li, Smit & Guo subgen. nov. inHygrobates. The other new species, Mixobates neoamurensis Li & Guo sp. nov. from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region adds a newly recorded genus, Mixobates Thor, 1905 from China. Various faults of photovoltaic (PV) modules inevitably occur in the work process, since PV modules are installed in hostile situation. To obtain the types of failure, a novel fault diagnosis method based on back propagation (BP) neural network with Levenberg-Marquardt (L-M) algorithm for PV modules is proposed. Through the in-depth analysis the output of PV modules under normal and fault conditions, the input variables of the diagnosis model are acquired. The high-speed and real-time fault diagnosis model for PV modules is first designed based on TMS320VC5402 DSP and long-distance wireless fault diagnosis is realized by Zigbee technology. The simulation and experimental results show that the fault diagnosis method for PV modules based on BP network with L-M algorithm can effectively detect four types of fault for PV modules such as open circuit, short circuit, partial shading and abnormal degradation. BACKGROUND Cadmium is a volatile element with chalcophile affinity. In the marine environment, Cd is a micronutrient element, while in the ecological environment and agricultural soil environment, Cd is a toxic element. Therefore, Cd isotopes have been used in marine science, earth science, environmental science, and agricultural scientific research, and show great application potential. OBJECTIVES To summarize the high-precision analytical technology and applications of Cd isotopes in different research fields. METHODS The recent research progress in digestion methods, separation and purification of Cd, and double-spikes calibration methods for organic matter-rich environmental samples, plant samples and biological samples were summarized. RESULTS For organic matter-rich samples including environmental, plant and biological samples, microwave digestion, high-pressure ashing and perchloric acid digestion can eliminate the influence of organic matter in Cd isotope analysis. Combined AG MP-1(M) resin with hydrochloric acid leaching system can effectively separate the matrix and interfering elements, which will not result in Cd isotope fractionation. The precision of Cd isotope with 111Cd-113Cd isotope double-spike correction was around 0.1εCd/amu. The application of Cd isotopes in marine science, geoscience, environmental science, and agricultural science were also summarized in this paper. Cadmium isotopes were used successfully for building marine biological geochemistry cycles, inversion of ancient marine environments and primary productivity change. In sulfide deposits, Cd isotopes were used to trace the evolution of ore fluids and the source of ore metals, and to discriminate different deposit types. In environmental systems, Cd isotopes were applied to distinguish Cd pollution sources, and to investigate Cd sources, migration, circulation and storage mechanisms in agricultural sciences. CONCLUSIONS The research of the high-precision Cd isotope analytical method and Cd isotope fractionation mechanism and model, will promote to establishment the tracer system of Cd isotope biogeochemistry fractionation and innovative development of non-traditional stable isotope geochemistry.

The nitrogen concentration/flux of water is very sensitive to the response of Net Anthropogenic Nitrogen Inputs (NANI), but the research on the dynamic response of nitrogen concentration to NANI is still rarely reported. In this study, the source of Zhaoshandu water source in Zhejiang Province, China, was used as the research object. The dynamic response of total nitrogen (TN) concentration to NANI in the basin was quantitatively analysed from 2005 to 2014. The results show that the NANI of the water source has a growing trend. It has increased by 6.73% in ten years. The average annual average of NANI is 85.76 kg (hm2·a-1), which is 1.7 times the national average of 2009. The average contribution rate of atmospheric nitrogen, chemical fertilizer nitrogen, food and feed nitrogen and crop fixed nitrogen is 40.98%, 34.06%, 20.25% and 4.7% respectively. The spatial difference of NANI is large, showing an increasing trend from the upstream mountainous area along the downstream. The sub-basin 2 is the key source of nitrogen pollution in this water source. NANI is the only independent variable of the TN concentration regression model with a variance interpretation rate of 55.4%. In the future, it is necessary to reduce the nitrogen input intensity of nitrogen, food and feed for chemical fertilizers as the main target, and to achieve the goal of water quality improvement by reducing the NANI intensity in the basin.

Abstract Super high molecular weight copolymers of AM/NaA/AMPS were prepared by oxidation–reduction [OR-P(AM/NaA/AMPS)] and controlled radical polymerization [CR-P(AM/NaA/AMPS)]. The resulting copolymers were fully characterized, and the reaction conditions for their preparation were optimized. OR-P(AM/NaA/AMPS), CR-P(AM/NaA/AMPS), and conventional partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) in brine solution were comprehensively characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and dynamic light scattering. OR-P(AM/NaA/AMPS) and CR-P(AM/NaA/AMPS) containing AMPS monomer showed better salt resistance, temperature tolerance, and viscosification property than the conventional HPAM polymer, making them more promising for enhanced oil recovery. Through comprehensive comparison and analysis, it was found that OR-P(AM/NaA/AMPS) was more conducive for high-temperature condition due to the existence of xanthone in OR-P(AM/NaA/AMPS). On the other hand, CR-P(AM/NaA/AMPS) was more suitable for high-mineral atmosphere, which could be attributed to its higher intrinsic viscosity.

A new species, Momonides neolandbergi Li & Guo sp. nov. is described in detail, which is the fifth species all over the world in Momonidinae Lundblad, 1941, Momoniidae K. Viets, 1926. The family and subfamily are newly recorded for Chinese fauna. The new species are recorded by camera, optical microscope, and scanning electron microscope. A brief introduction of Chinese Limnesiidae taxonomy is provided. Adults of two new species, Limnesia (Limnesia) lupingae Li & Guo sp. nov. and Limnesia (Limnesia) macrophthalma Li & Guo sp. nov., from Heilongjiang and Hubei provinces respectively, are described in detail. Subtle structures are recorded with scanning electron micrographs. In addition, deutonymphs of two new species are also described in detail and compared with the adults in discussion.
