Virtual reality (VR) can help to prevent alcohol consumption by simulating peer pressure. While existing VR applications for adolescents are primarily tested in schools, expanding them to museums and art galleries offers setting-specific benefits and could enhance their reach. An interactive VR simulation was presented in an art exhibition on substance use reflection. This study aimed to (1) describe visitor experiences with the simulation and (2) analyse differences according to gender and age. Visitors (n = 293) explored Virtual LimitLab for about 15 min before completing a survey on user experience and perceived learning experiences, which also included open questions on its positive and negative aspects. The quantitative user experience and perceived learning experience items were rated positively, except for knowledge increase. Young visitors (≤18 years of age) perceived Virtual LimitLab as more interesting (p = 0.043) and exciting (p = 0.047) than older ones. Female visitors rated the reflective response (p = 0.016) and sensitisation to social pressure (p = 0.024) higher than males. The qualitative evaluation showed that visitors appreciated the simulation’s realism, authenticity and adaptability. VR-based public health interventions in the arts setting need further research to study their preventive potential.

Objective: to increase the effectiveness of in vitro fertilization in patients of late reproductive age by optimizing prepregnancy preparation for the IVF program.Materials and methods: The study included 67 patients of late reproductive age with a history of unsuccessful IVF attempts, divided into two groups at the second stage of the study, depending on the volume of prepregnancy preparation: group 1 (33 patients), group 2 (34 patients). The control group (50 patients) were healthy women of reproductive age. Immunohistochemical examination of the endometrium and microbiological examination of the uterine cavity, hormonal status of peripheral blood, study of the concentration of melatonin in peripheral blood and follicular fluid, antioxidant status of follicular fluid, expression of leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) in the cervical secretion were performed. Results: in patients with age-related dysregulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis and impaired fertile function, a systemic and local (in follicles) decrease in melatonin levels was revealed. The studied effects of melatonin suggested that its use in patients of late reproductive age with reduced follicular reserve and a "poor" response to ovarian stimulation may increase the effectiveness of in vitro fertilization (IVF).Conclusions: The inclusion in the pre-gravidar preparation of a complex of water-soluble polypeptide fractions of the epiphysis, stimulating the production of endogenous melatonin, made it possible to increase the effectiveness of IVF in patients by an average of 3.1 times according to the criterion of "clinical pregnancy" and 4.1 times according to the criterion of "live birth".

In a previous study, we showed that the properties and the ability as an entatic state model of copper guanidine quinoline complexes are significantly influenced by a methyl or methyl ester substituent in the 2-position. To prove the importance of the 2-position of the substituent, two novel guanidine quinoline ligands with a methyl or methyl ester substituent in the 4-position and the corresponding copper complexes were synthesized and characterized in this study. The influence of the substituent position on the copper complexes was investigated with various experimental and theoretical methods. The molecular structures of the copper complexes were examined in the solid state by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) and by density functional theory (DFT) calculations indicating a strong dependency on the substituent position compared to the systems substituted in the 2-position from the previous study. Further, the significantly different influence on the donor properties in dependency on the substituent position was analyzed with natural bond orbital (NBO) calculations. By the determination of the redox potentials, the impact on the electrochemical stabilization was examined. With regard to further previously analyzed guanidine quinoline copper complexes, the electrochemical stabilization was correlated with the charge-transfer energies calculated by NBO analysis and ground state energies, revealing the substituent influence and enabling a comparatively easy and accurate possibility for the theoretical calculation of the relative redox potential. Finally, the electron transfer properties were quantified by determining the electron self-exchange rates via the Marcus theory and by theoretical calculation of the reorganization energies via Nelsen's four-point method. The results gave important insights into the dependency between the ability of the copper complexes as entatic state model and the type and position of the substituent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Quantitative and qualitative composition of essential oils of peppermint breeds Lebedinaya Pesnya, Lubenchanka, Lidiya, Ukrainskaya Perechnaya, Mama, Chornolista was investigated before and after clonal microreproduction by the method of isolated tissues and bodies culture in vitro. Methods of essential oil steam distillation, capillary gas chromatography and statistical analysis were used in the research. It is established that increase in essential oil quantity was observed for peppermint breeds on which reproduction and improvement іn vіtro technology was applied. As a result of clonal microreproduction of peppermint plants in culture іn vіtro on nutrient medium Murasige and Skug, in which the growth regulators 0.75 mg/l of 6-benzylaminopurine, 0.1 mg/l of adenine, 0.05 mg/l of indolil-3-acetic acid and 0.5 mg/l of gibberellins acid were added and virocide Ribavirin in concentration 10 mg/l, improvement was obtained in comparison with vegetatively reproduced plants; increase in essential oil quantity per hectare was established for the following breeds; Chornolista by 54.2%, Lebedinaya pesnya by 38.2%, Ukrainskaya Perechnaya by 36.7%, Mama by 28.5%, Lubenchanka by 17.1% and Lidiya by 11.6%. For oil content the highest indices were noted for Lubenchanka, Mama and Lebedinaya Pesnya peppermint breeds with product yield 4.02%, 3.98% and 3.84% respectively. It was established that the essential oil component composition in non-clonal peppermint plants raw materials and plants-regenerants after culture in vitro is variable depending on breed. Limonene, cineole, menthone, menthofuran, iso-menthone, menthyl acetate, β-caryophyllene, iso-menthol, menthol, pulegone, germacren, piperitone, carvone were identified in peppermint essential oil. High content of menthol, low content of carvone, piperitone, pulegone (except for Chornolista, Ukrainskaya Perechnaya breeds) and menthofuran (except for Chornolista, Ukrainskaya Perechnaya and Lubenchanka breeds) are characteristic for Ukrainian selection peppermint investigated breeds. A clear tendency to menthol and menthone content ratio increase is observed in plants which were improved in conditions іn vіtro. Pulegone was not detected in essential oil samples of Lebedinaya Pesnya, Lidiya and Mama breeds. Biochemical markers of Lebedinaya Pesnya, Lubenchanka, Mama breeds, which differentiate them within the group of investigated breeds, are higher limonene, piperitone and menthol pool; for Ukrainskaya Perechnaya and Chornolista breeds – pulegone, cineole and menthone; for Lidiya breed – iso-menthone.

Medicinal plants are important objects for botany, systematics and plant geography research, as well as physiology, pharmacology, and biotechnology. Medicinal plants from the Lamiaceae family are being intensively studied for medical and pharmacological reasons. This family also includes the medicinal herbaceous plant oregano (Origanum vulgare L.), known from ancient times for its antimicrobial and antifungal properties, the ability to strengthen the human immune system, and to improve the general state of an organism. At present, the study of its antimicrobial, antifungal, insecticidal, anticoagulant, antitumor, therapeutic and many other properties is being actively continued. Due to the relevance of the development of the principles of O. vulgare micropropagation in vitro and the undeveloped conditions and methods of its cultivation, the aim of this work was to optimize microclonation in vitro of oregano via the activation of auxiliary buds. The research tasks were to test the ability of auxiliary buds to be activated depending on the localization on the donor shoot internodes and to intensify the root formation of cuttings through medium content optimization. The influence of the location of the auxiliary buds on donor shoots on their activation in vitro was studied on such indicators as the length of newly formed shoots, the number of nodules per one newly formed shoot, and the number of newly formed shoots per one bud. In plant microclonal propagation, the stage of root formation is very important for further adaptation in soil. Practical experience has shown that for the effective adaptation of oregano in soil, the length of the root system for cuttings should be 1.5–2.0 cm, the degree of root system development – 4–5 points under shoot length of 3–5 cm. The study of peculiarities of oregano microclonal propagation via activation of auxiliary buds has allowed us to optimize the stage of explant selection for cutting and the formation of cuttings’ roots. It has been established that for optimal length, the number of nodules of the newly formed shoots and the number of newly formed shoots, the first internode, located on the top of a parent shoot, as well as the third to fifth ones are more suitable. For rooting oregano cuttings, the optimal medium on the ratio of length and density of root system and on shoot length is the nutrient one containing half of the macro-, microsalts and vitamins on Murashige-Skoog, 20 g/l sucrose and 0.75 mg/l kinetin.

Purpose: to evaluate the role of immunocorrection in the complex pregravidational preparation for IVF for the restoration of the endometrial implantation potential in patients with grade 1-2 adenomyosis. Materials and methods: By simple randomization, the patients were divided into two groups: 1 group of 45 patients — complex pregravidational preparation. (PGP), including reception of dienogest at a dose of 2 mg per day for 3 months and intravenous administration of deoxyribonucleinate at a dose of 75 mg, group 2 — 43 patients — GWP, including reception of dienogest at a dose of 2 mg per day for 3 months. Th e control group (group 3) consisted of 45 healthy fertile women. Initially, and in dynamics, LIF, LIF-R, IL-6, IL-10 in cervical mucus were determined by the method of enzyme immunoassay. Results: A comparative analysis of pre-gravitational preparation for the IVF cycle in patients with infertility associated with adenomyosis of 1-2 degrees and the implantation potential of the endometrium as much as possible reduced against this background. Isolated use of dienogest and complex therapy (dienogest + deoxyribonucleate sodium) was used. Th e analysis of the indicators took into account the infl uence of various methods of pregravidational preparation on the local cytokine balance (IL, IL10) and indicators characterizing the implantation potential of the endometrium (LIF and LIF-R). Conclusion: complex pregravidational preparation provides a full recovery of the implantation factor of the endometrium, which is confi rmed by an increase in the frequency of biochemical and clinical pregnancy.

Typical configuration of an unmanned towed underwater system (UTUS) was described and advantages of using this type of marine equipment for shallow depth works were outlined. A list of basic operating modes of the UTUS which are key modes for design calculations of the system was determined. Basic requirements to the design and construction of a competitive UTUS for shallow water areas have been formed. The main requirements include the need for high-performance underwater technologies and the use of state-of-the-art computer research and design software. The need to maximize use of materials, parts and units that are commercially available as components for the UTUS was also indicated. Expediency and possibility of applying the systems approach methodology at early stages of the UTUS design were shown. Equations of existence were formulated in a matrix form for the UTUS components which make it possible to check engineering solutions for compliance with the requirements of the Requirements Specification already at the stages of technical proposal and sketch design. Structural, power, information and operational characteristics of the UTUS components were used as the compliance criteria. Sequence of the design works was completed in a form of a generalized design algorithm that implements the systems approach using modern computer technologies and equations of the UTUS existence. The developed algorithm allows the designer to check requirements of the Requirements Specification already at the early stages of the UTUS design and forms a scientifically substantiated methodological basis for creation of competitive underwater equipment

The object of research is the design technology of towed underwater systems for shallow waters. The subject of research is ways to increase productivity and reduce the cost of designing and manufacturing towed underwater systems.During the research, the methodology of system approach, methods of structural analysis, mathematical modeling and 3D-design, additive technologies of manufacturing structures of towed underwater systems are applied.A systematic analysis of the laws of development of the technologies of designing towed underwater systems is performed. The perspective directions of their further development are formulated as a necessary condition for increasing the efficiency of design works on the basis of modern designing tools and ensuring competitiveness in the market of marine equipment. It is proposed to supplement the traditional stages of designing such systems with three new stages that embody the current trends in the creation of marine technology. The genesis of the technologies of designing towed underwater systems is developed as a scientific and methodological basis for their further development in the direction of increasing the efficiency of design works and reducing the cost of time and financial resources. It is theoretically substantiated the feasibility of developing technologies of design of towed underwater systems by introducing into the project practice three technologies:– technologies of information modeling of the basic steady and transient modes of towed underwater systems on the basis of system approach, supplemented by the criteria of cost estimation for their construction and operation;– technologies of the building information modeling as an information support for the design, construction and further operation of the generated towed underwater system;– additive technology of production of elements and units of the towed underwater system based on the results obtained from the previous technologies as an effective way to reduce the total costs of financial and time resources and reduce the cost of created towed underwater systems. The practical importance of the work is to confirm the efficiency and industrial perspective of the proposed technologies, which was obtained as a result of their partial introduction into the design and production practice when creating the towed glider project.Further research is planned to be conducted within the framework of the pilot project «Single Information Space for the Processes of Design, Construction and Operation of towed Underwater Systems», as well as by expanding the use of additive technologies during the construction of towed underwater systems., Объектом исследования являются технологии проектирования буксируемых подводных систем для мелководных акваторий. The study used methods of field agrotechnical one-factor experiment, essential oil distillation with water vapor according to the Ginzberg method, capillary gas chromatography and statistical analysis. Results.Due to the sanitation process in vitro, the yield of air-driedleaves of breeding samples increased by 2.9–7.1%, the ‘Chornolysta’ variety by 51.4% and rhizomes by 2.2–3.8% and 28.5%respectively, which amounted 0.35–2.74 t/ha. A significant increase of essential oil yield of breeding samples from 4.0 to9.9 kg/ha was shown, and of the ‘Chornolysta’ variety – up to 28.6 kg/ha. After in vitro sanitation and clonal cropropagationof the breeding sample M 01-12, the content of essential oil was more than 4%. The following components of peppermintessential oil were identified: limonene, cineole, menton, mentofuran, isomenton, menthyl acetate, β-caryophyllene,isomenthol, menthol, pulegon, piperitone and carvone. A clear tendency to a decrease in the amount of menton and isomentholwith isomenton and menthol increase in plants, sanitated and propagated in vitro, was revealed. Conclusions. The useof tissue and organ culture methods and in vitro sanitation improves the qualitative composition of terpenoids by increasing the amount of menthol and menton reducing. The data obtained on the composition of terpenoids should be consideredin peppermint selection as one of the integral criteria, which should be included in the list of economically valuable characteristicsof peppermint plants, such as foliage, biomass of air-dried leaves, plant rhizomes and the amount of peppermintessential oil. Six indicators of the essential oil of the breeding sample M 01-02, namely citric acid, cineole, mentofuran, isomentone, pulegon, carvone, as well as the cineole / limonene ratio, meet the criteria of the European Pharmacopoeia, soit can be considered as promising for cultivation among the studied samples.

Typical configuration of an unmanned towed underwater system (UTUS) was described and advantages of using this type of marine equipment for shallow depth works were outlined.A list of basic operating modes of the UTUS which are key modes for design calculations of the system was determined. Basic requirements to the design and construction of a competitive UTUS for shallow water areas have been formed. The main requirements include the need for high-performance underwater technologies and the use of state-of-the-art computer research and design software. The need to maximize use of materials, parts and units that are commercially available as components for the UTUS was also indicated.Expediency and possibility of applying the systems approach methodology at early stages of the UTUS design were shown. Equations of existence were formulated in a matrix form for the UTUS components which make it possible to check engineering solutions for compliance with the requirements of the Requirements Specification already at the stages of technical proposal and sketch design. Structural, power, information and operational characteristics of the UTUS components were used as the compliance criteria.Sequence of the design works was completed in a form of a generalized design algorithm that implements the systems approach using modern computer technologies and equations of the UTUS existence. The developed algorithm allows the designer to check requirements of the Requirements Specification already at the early stages of the UTUS design and forms a scientifically substantiated methodological basis for creation of competitive underwater equipment,
