This document describes the design and implementation of the 5GENESIS Monitoring & Analytics (M&A) framework in its Release B, developed within Task T3.3 of the project work plan. M&A Release B leverages and extends M&A Release A, which has been documented in the previous Deliverable D3.5 [1]. In particular, we present new features and enhancements introduced in this new Release compared to the Release A. We also report some examples of usage of the M&A framework, in order to showcase its integrated in the 5GENESIS Reference Architecture.

Aim: The overall aim of the current thesis was to investigate the interhospital intensive care unit-to unit transfer process from the perspective of patients, family members, and critical care nurses. Methods: Study I explores and interprets the observed nature of the patient’s situation during interhospital intensive care unit-to-unit transfers. Data collection consists of video recordings and participant observations throughout the transfer process, here using a hermeneutical approach. Study II utilises a phenomenological hermeneutical approach and focuses on exploring the critical care nurses’ lived experiences of transferring intensive care patients between hospitals. Using a phenomenological hermeneutical approach, Study III reveals the meanings of family members’ lived experiences when a loved one undergoes an interhospital intensive care unit-to-unit transfer. Study IV, which is based on a retrospective matched case-control chart review, investigates the occurrence of missed nursing care in a cohort of patients subjected to interhospital intensive care unit‐to‐unit transfers because of a lack of intensive care resources. Main findings: During interhospital intensive care unit-to-unit transfers, patients risk being objectified when drifting in and out of the health personnel’s focus and when caring is characterised by dehumanisation. The patient’s body exists in constant motion, which may create various bodily sensations without meaning that could create frightening memories. During transfers, critical care nurses experience themselves as being exposed and unprotected and torn between contradictory feelings and experiences. Being in non-caring situations while doing their utmost to provide dignified care for the patient and the family elicits a feeling that dedicated nursing care makes a difference. During transfers critical care nurses find themselves being on an ambivalent journey together with the patient, but also being on a journey of their own, leading to their own development. When a love done is being transferred, family members experience being in a fragile trust that is unexpectedly withdrawn and replaced with uncertainty. Facing the unknown, they experience a need to become seekers of meaning coherence. Being a family member means having a need to be close but being faced with loneliness while longing for proximity and participation in the care of your loved one. Patients undergoing intensive care unit-to-unit transfers because of lack of intensive care resources were exposed to missed nursing care in the form of a significantly less amount of mobilisation and oral care compared with a matched control group. Conclusion: This thesis contributes new knowledge about what the interhospital intensive care unit to-unit transfer process can mean for patients, family members and critical care nurses. To transfer highly vulnerable patients safely between ICUs in a gentle and dignified way emerges as an extraordinary complex task for those involved. Such a contribution is important in our endeavour to make these transfers safer for vulnerable critically ill patients and their families.

This thesis explores the challenge of using deep neural networks to classify traits incars through sound recognition. These traits could include type of engine, model, or manufacturer of the car. The problem was approached by creating three different neural networks and evaluating their performance in classifying sounds of three different cars. The top scoring neural network achieved an accuracy of 61 percent, which is far from reaching the standard accuracy of modern speech recognition systems. The results do, however, show that there are some tendencies to the data that neural networks can learn. If the methods and networks presented in this report are further built upon, a greater classification performance may be achieved.

The main purpose of this project was an attempt to modulate and simulate two existing biogas plant, situated in Lidköping and Katrineholm, Sweden and evaluate how the process reacts to certain conditions regarding feeding, layout and substrate mixture. The main goal was to optimize the existing processes to better performance. Both the modeling and simulation were executed in SIMBA#Biogas with accordance to the real conditions at the plant in question. The simulation of each model was validated against data containing measurements of, CH4 yield, CH4 production, TS, VS, NH4-N concentration and N-total concentration. The data was obtained from each plant in accordance with scheduled follow ups. Both models were statistically validated for several predictions. Predictions of N-total and NH4-N concentration failed for some cases. Both plants were tested with new process lay outs, where promising results were obtained. The Lidköping model was provided with a post-hygienization step to handle ABPs. The Katrineholm model was provided with a dewatering unit, where 35% of the centrate was recirculated back to the system. Both setups was configured to yield the highest CH4 production. This study suggests that SIMBA#Biogas can be a tool for predictions and optimizations of the biogas process.

In a world where technology advances, it is important that the human-computer interface follows in the same pace, to maximize the user experience. This means that when the machines become more powerful and the services become more comprehensive, it is important that they still are adapted to the users.In the web browsing world, a concept called infinite-scroll has become popular when trying to maximise the user experience. This technique uses JavaScript to dynamically load more content to a webpage whilst the user is scrolling without ever reloading the page, to achieve a more fluid experience. This technique is used widely in social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter among others.However, this technique have been used very rarely on other types of websites. Why this could be the case and how infinite-scroll performs on an intranet will be described in this report. A quantitative study on how the user behaviour differs between a website with pagination and infinite-scroll has been conducted and analysed by gathering statistics through Google Analytics about how users interacts with the website in question. The study indicates that infinite-scroll can be useful on an intranet when adapted according to usability guidelines.

MBB; large scale experiments; Demo. This demo presents the MONROE distributed platform and how it can be used to implement measurement and assessment experiments with operational mobile broadband networks (MBBs). MONROE provides registered experimenters with open access to hundreds of nodes, distributed over several European countries and equipped with multiple MBB connections, and a backend system that collects the measurement results. Experiments are scheduled through a user-friendly web client, with no need to directly access the nodes. The platform further embeds tools for real-time traffic flow analysis and a powerful visualization tool. TRUE pub

Fog and haze can have a dramatic impact on vision systems for land and sea vehicles. The impact of such conditions on infrared images is not as severe as for standard images. By fusing images from two cameras, one ordinary and one near-infrared camera, a complete dehazing system with colour preservation can be achieved. Applying several different algorithms to an image set and evaluating the results, the most suitable image fusion algoritm has been identified. Using an FPGA, a programmable integrated circuit, a crucial part of the algorithm has been implemented. It is capable of producing processed images 30 times faster than a laptop computer. This implementation lays the foundation of a real-time dehazing system and provides a significant part of the full solution. The results show that such a system can be accomplished with an FPGA.

The aim of this study is to explore what cultural differences Swedish business negotiators perceive and how they adapt and/or manage the differences.

The YOUSAT project addresses the problem of attracting a younger audience to the Scandinavian alpine tundra region and similar Nordic regions for nature-based ecotourism experiences. The main objective is to create tourism services directed towards the younger generation as well as services based upon user-created content.

Wireless communication has seen a tremendous growth in the last decades. Continuing on this trend, wireless multi-hop networks are nowadays used or planned for use in a multitude of contexts, spanning from Internet access at home to emergency situations. The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) provides reliable and ordered delivery of a data and is used by major Internet applications such as web browsers, email clients and file transfer programs. TCP traffic is also the dominating traffic type on the Internet. However, TCP performs less than optimal in wireless multi-hop networks due to packet reordering, low link capacity, packet loss and variable delay. In this thesis, we develop novel proposals for enhancing the network and transport layer to improve TCP performance in wireless multi-hop networks. As initial studies, we experimentally evaluate the performance of different TCP variants, with and without mobile nodes. We further evaluate the impact of multi-path routing on TCP performance and propose packet aggregation combined with aggregation aware multi-path forwarding as a means to better utilize the available bandwidth. The last contribution is a novel extension to multi-path TCP to enable single-homed hosts to fully utilize the network capacity. Opponent changed. Prof. C. Many networks are multi-path; mobile devices have multiple interfaces, data centers have redundant paths and ISPs forward traffic over disjoint paths to perform load-balancing. Multi-path TCP (MPTCP) is a new mechanism that transparently divides a TCP connection into subflows and distributes them over a host's network interfaces. While this enables multi-homed systems like e.g. smartphones to use several interfaces and thus different, and mostly disjoint, network paths for a single transmission, most end-systems are still single-homed. With one interface, standard MPTCP creates only a single subflow, making single-homed systems unable to benefit from MPTCP's functionality. In this paper we propose PathFinder, an MPTCP extension that tries to estimate the number of subflows required to fully utilize the network capacity, enabling single-homed hosts to reap the benefits of MPTCP. We evaluate MPTCP with PathFinder and compare its performance to standard MPTCP. The evaluation shows that PathFinder is able to open a limited but sufficient amount of subflows to significantly increase the throughput when compared to using standard MPTCP. E-pub only.

Introduction: Swedish furniture companies have been quite successful in many parts of the world recently, with IKEA being a famous example of that. Meanwhile, Vietnam has one of the fastest-growing economies in South East Asia. However, there has not been any Swedish furniture company established on the Vietnamese market so far. Therefore, it would be useful to see if the Vietnamese furniture consumers would appreciate Swedish furniture, in order to analyze whether Swedish furniture companies could have success in Vietnam as well. Purpose: To study (1) How Vietnamese furniture consumers perceive the typical product values of Swedish furniture and (2) Analyze the potential for establishing Swedish furniture companies on the Vietnamese market. Methodology: Interviews, survey and secondary data. Findings and Analysis: The findings show that Vietnamese furniture consumers would generally appreciate Swedish furniture product values. Although the consumers do not recognize Sweden or Scandinavia as a furniture country or region, their preferences shown in furniture characteristics imply a increasingly positive attitude towards typical Swedish furniture product values. Conclusion and Recommendations: Due to the appreciation of Swedish typical product values, the potential for establishing Swedish furniture companies could be regarded as considerable in terms of product values. It is thus recommended that Swedish furniture companies carry on with creating typical Swedish product values when they enter the Vietnamese market. In the quest for lowering Carbon dioxide emissions and creating a more sustainable future living environment, personal transportation and its cost on both economy and environment is a key part and problem to be solved. We can witness more and more electrical vehicles on our roads world-wide, and further more and more households are investing in solar energy in the form of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) cells. The arrays combined with the electrical vehicles could possibly cut down carbon dioxide emissions and monthly gas/fuel costs on households. This report is a Bachelor thesis work at ABB, Corporate research, Västerås, Sweden. For Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH). The report will present a prototype software-solution implementation for scheduling the start of electrical vehicle charging, based on parameters such as the current supply of PV Generated energy, price, CO2 emission and user preferences. A key functionality is to give the household in question the power of choice, to choose when and how their electrical vehicle should be charged, be it with the environment or the wallet in mind.

In this thesis a solution for finding stones mixed up with logs in the timber industry is presented. The main goal is to identify as many stones as possible without giving false alarms when there are no stones. The solution uses merely the surface height profile obtained from a stereo vision setup above the conveyor belt for identifying the stones. A 3D-image with objects heights and defined axis can be obtained after camera calibrations and be used to determine the size of objects.Two separate methods for finding stones in 3D-images has been developed. Stones must be at least 5 cm high, be fairly circular with a radius of at least 6 cm and be clearly visible in the stereo images.The first method is an experimentally determined approach that has been developed to detect small stones and large stones separately. Vertical logs are morphologically reconstructed and removed leaving only possible stones.The second method uses a frame of the 3D-image as a mask for reconstructing and identifying logs no-matter the direction of the logs. The logs are removed and if there is a possible stone with a high enough ratio of how well the circular structuring element describes the stone it is characterized as a stone.Both methods gives no false identified stones in 1297 images without stones and the first method has a hit-rate of 60% while the second method has a hit-rate of 67% in 120 images containing stones. My conclusion is that the methods gives equivalent results but I would prefer the second method since it is simpler, has less adjustable values and is faster computationally. The introduction of antibiotics as a medical treatment after World War II helped to dramatically increase life expectancy in the industrialized world. As a consequence of over-prescription the last decades ave however seen a sharp increase in prevalence of multi-resistant bacteria, disarming once powerful anti-pathogens. This paper investigates the effect of increased competition between healthcare providers on prescription of antibiotics. We make use of a competition- inducing reform implemented in different counties in Sweden at different points in time during 2007 to 2010. Our dataset contains monthly data on all prescribed antibiotics in Sweden which makes us able to estimate the effects on all antibiotics prescribed, as well as different subcategories of antibiotics. The results indicate that increased competition had a positive and significant effect on antibiotics prescription.

Due to the high availability of cheap hardware, wireless multi-hop networks and in particular Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are becoming popular in more and more contexts. For instance, IEEE 802.11 based WMNs have already started to be deployed as means to provide Internet access to rural areas in the developing world. To lower the cost and increase the coverage in such deployments, the wired network is extended with a wireless backbone of fixed mesh routers. With advances in technology and reduction in price comes also the possibility for more powerful wireless nodes, having multiple radios that allow transmitting on different channels in parallel. To be a successful platform for providing general Internet access, wireless multi-hop networks must provide support for common Internet applications. As most of the applications in the Internet today use the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), TCP performance is crucial. Unfortunately, the design of TCP’s congestion control that made it successful in today’s Internet makes it perform less than optimal in wireless multi-hop networks. This is due to, among others, TCP’s inability to distinguish wireless losses from congestion losses. The current trend for operating system designers is also to focus TCP development on high-speed fixed networks, rather than on wireless multi-hop networks. To enable wireless multi hop networks as a successful platform there is therefore a need to provide good performance using TCP variants commonly deployed in the Internet. In this thesis, we develop novel proposals for the network layer in wireless multi-hop networks to support TCP traffic more efficiently. As an initial study, we experimentally evaluate different TCP variants, with and without mobile nodes, in a MANET context. Our results show that TCP Vegas, which does not provoke packet loss to determine available bandwidth, reduces the stress on the network while still providing the same or slightly increased performance, compared to TCP Newreno. We further propose and evaluate packet aggregation combined with aggregation aware multi-path forwarding to better utilize the available bandwidth. IP layer packet aggregation, where small packets are combined to larger ones before sent to the link layer, has been shown to improve the performance in wireless multi-hop networks for UDP and small packet transfers. Only few studies have been made on the impact of packet aggregation on TCP traffic, despite the fact that TCP traffic constitutes the majority of the Internet traffic. We propose a novel aggregation algorithm that is specifically addressing TCP relevant issues like packet reordering, fairness and TCP timeouts. In a typical WMN scenario, the aggregation algorithm increases TCP performance by up to 70 % and decreases round trip time (RTT) by up to 40 %. A detailed evaluation of packet aggregation in a multi radio setting has shown that a naive combination of multi path routing and packet aggregation can cause valuable aggregation opportunities to be lost. Therefore, we propose a novel combined packet aggregation and aggregation aware forwarding strategy that can reduce delay, packet loss and increase TCP performance by around 30 %.

Six Sigma is proved to be an effective way of improving the quality of processes and products in a wide range of industries. At the major banks in Sweden, Six Sigma has not yet had a major impact, even though the methodology has been successfully used in banks in other parts of the world. In this thesis the applicability of Six Sigma in a Swedish bank is explored using a case study. The subject of the case study is the loan process at a major Swedish bank. The loan process is defined as the activities taking place after the loan has been disbursed to the customer to ensure the bank’s legal right to seize the securities used as collateral in the case of a default by the customer. The loan process is approached using the DMAIC cycle with the objectives of lower operational risk, less rework and higher customer satisfaction. The results of the case study show that Six Sigma can be used at Swedish banks. There are however problems with the availability of data as well as the maturity of the organization and the employees’ competences in handling large data sets. New tools to monitor the loan process and to act on deviations are developed in the thesis. Validerat; 20101217 (root)

Bisin et al.(2008) report that they have 5963 observations in their study. Using their empirical setup, we can only identify 1901 relevant observations in the original data. After removing missing values we are left with 818 observations. We cannot replicate any of their results and our estimations yield no support for their claims.

This thesis makes a survey of converse theorems for Dirichlet series. A converse theo-rem gives sufficient conditions for a Dirichlet series to be the Dirichlet series attachedto a modular form. Such Dirichlet series have special properties, such as a functionalequation and an Euler product. Sometimes these properties characterize the modularform completely, i.e. they are sufficient to prove the proper transformation behaviourunder some discrete group. The problem dates back to Hecke and Weil, and has morerecently been treated by Conrey et.al. The articles surveyed are: "An extension of Hecke's converse theorem", by B. Conrey and D. Farmer "Converse theorems assuming a partial Euler product", by D. Farmer and K.Wilson "A converse theorem for ¡0(13)", by B. Conrey, D. Farmer, B. Odgers and N.Snaith The results and the proofs are described. The second article is found to contain anerror. Finally an alternative proof strategy is proposed.

There are no public records that give an idea of how much emanation monitoring is actually taking place. However, there are a few data points that lead us to believe there is a real threat. One of these is that TEMPEST industry is over a billion dollars a year business. Reports like the ”Redefining Security” by Joint Security Commission stated that electronic equipment such as computers, printers, and electronic typewriters give off electromagnetic emanations and that this has long been a concern for various industries. An attacker using the latest and most efficient equipment can monitor and retrieve classified or sensitive information as it is being processed without the user being aware that a loss is occurring. But new information states that the attacker doesn’t need to have access to the latest equipment. This master thesis is based on the three statements below:  It exists a cheap and simple TEMPEST technique that is a security risk.  A downloadable TEMPEST virus is a powerful tool when conducting TEMPEST attacks.  It does not exist a cheap and simple solution that protects common users from TEMPEST attacks. In the experiment I use a program called Tempest_for_eliza and a simple Philips radio receiver. In this thesis I prove that it exist a TEMPEST technique, that is cheap and relatively simple and still is a security risk. I prove this with facts from literature studies and an experiment. Today there is only one way to protect yourself against TEMPEST attacks and that is by metal shielding. This is expensive and home users have the option but not often the resources to finance this type of protection.
