Nonperturbative formulation of the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model is discussed. The partition function of the model can be represented as a functional integral over the Grassmann variables in Euclidean time which is well defined but it diverges after the transformation to the fermion bilocal fields. We point out that the generating functional of the SYK model in real time is well defined even after the transformation to the bilocal fields and it can be used for nonperturbative investigations of its properties. In this paper, we study behaviour of Wilson loops in the boost-invariant nonequilibrium anisotropic quark-gluon plasma produced in heavy-ion collisions within the holographic approach. We describe the thermalization studying the evolution of the Vaidya metric in the boost-invariant and spatially anisotropic background. To probe the system during this process we calculate rectangular Wilson loops oriented in different spatial directions. We find that anisotropic effects are more visible for the Wilson loops lying in the transversal plane unlike the Wilson loops with partially longitudinal orientation. In particular, we observe that the Wilson loops can thermalizes first unlike to the order of the isotropic model. We see that Wilson loops on transversal contours have the shortest thermalization time. We also calculate the string tension and the pseudopotential at different temperatures for the static quark-gluon plasma. We show that the pseudopotential related to the configuration on the transversal plane has the screened Cornell form. We also show that the jet-quenching parameter related with the average of the light-like Wilson loop exhibits the dependence on orientations., 39 pages, 12 figures; v3: typos corrected, to appear in Nucl. We introduce the quadratic Fermi algebra, which is a Lie algebra, and calculate the vacuum distributions of the associated Hamiltonians. In order to emphasize the difference with the Bose case, we apply a modification of the method used in the above calculation to obtain a simple and straightforward classification of the 1-dimensional Meixner laws in terms of homogeneous quadratic expressions in the Bose creation and annihilation operators. There is a huge literature of the Meixner laws but this, purely quantum probabilistic, derivation seems to be new. Finally we briefly discuss the possible multidimensional extensions of the above results.

The stability of isotropic cosmological solutions in the Bianchi I model is considered. We prove that the stability of isotropic solutions in the Bianchi I metric for a positive Hubble parameter follows from their stability in the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric. This result is applied to models inspired by string field theory, which violate the null energy condition. Examples of stable isotropic solutions are presented. Recent results on solutions to the equation of motion of the cubic fermionic string field theory and an equivalence of non-polynomial and cubic string field theories are discussed. To have a possibility to deal with both GSO(+) and GSO(-) sectors in the uniform way a matrix formulation for the NS fermionic SFT is used. In constructions of analytical solutions to open string field theories truncated pure gauge configurations parameterized by wedge states play an essential role. The matrix form of this parametrization for the NS fermionic SFT is presented. Using the cubic open superstring field theory as an example we demonstrate explicitly that for the large parameter of the perturbation expansion these truncated pure gauge configurations give divergent contributions to the equation of motion on the subspace of the wedge states. Solutions of the Cauchy problem for the wave equation on a non-globally hyperbolic spacetime, which contains closed timelike curves (time machines) are considered. It is proved, that there exists a solution of the Cauchy problem, it is discontinuous and in some sense unique for arbitrary initial conditions, which are given on a hypersurface at time, that precedes the formation of closed timelike curves (CTC). If the hypersurface of initial conditions intersects the region containing CTC, then the solution of the Cauchy problem exists only for such initial conditions, that satisfy a certain requirement of self-consistency., 12 pages

Cosmological consequences of adding the Cold Dark Matter (CDM) to the exactly solvable stringy Dark Energy (DE) model are investigated. The model is motivated by the consideration of our Universe as a slowly decaying D3-brane. The decay of this D-brane is described in the String Field Theory framework. Stability conditions of the exact solution with respect to small fluctuations of the initial value of the CDM energy density are found. Solutions with large initial value of the CDM energy density attracted by the exact solution without CDM are constructed numerically. In contrast to the LambdaCDM model the Hubble parameter in the model is not a monotonic function of time. For specific initial data the DE state parameter w_{DE} is also not monotonic function of time. For these cases there are two separate regions of time where w_{DE} being less than -1 is close to -1., 15 pages, 6 figures; references added

We discuss classical composite p-brane solutions and their quantization using the conjecture that their fluctuations may be described via degrees of freedom of Dirichlet strings ended on these p-branes. We work with Dirichlet (super)strings in framework of string field theory for open (super)strings. To elaborate in this scheme the eleventh dimension modes we take just a collection of Dirichlet strings which in their middle points have jumps in eleventh dimension. Starting from string field theory for 2d gravity coupled to c=1 matter we analyze N-point off-shell tree amplitudes of discrete states. The amplitudes exhibit the pole structure and we use the oscillator representation to extract the residues. The residues are generated by a simple effective action. We show that the effective action can be directly deduced from a string field action in a special transversal-like gauge., 12 pages, latex, 1 figure

A simple lattice model inducing a gauge theory is considered. The model describes an interaction of a gauge field to an $N\times N$ complex matrix scalar field transforming as a field in the fundamental representation. In contrast to the Kazakov-Migdal model the model contains only the linear interaction between scalar and gauge lattice fields. This model does not suffer from extra local U(1) symmetries. In an approximation of a translation invariant master field the large N limit of the model is investigated. At large N the gauge fields can be integrated out yielding an effective theory describing an interaction of eigenvalues of the master field. The reduced model exhibits phase transitions at the points $\beta_{\bar {cr}}$ and $\beta _{\underline{cr}}$ and the region $(\beta_{\bar{cr}}, \beta_{\underline{cr}})$ separates the strong and weak regions of the model. To study the behaviour of the model at large $N$ in more systematic way the quenched momentum prescription with constraints for treating the large N limit of gauge theories is used. With the help of the technique of orthogonal polynomials nonlinear equations describing the large N limit of the reduced model {\it with quenching} are presented., Comment: LaTex, 10 pages

The phase diagram of quark gluon plasma (QGP) formed at a very early stage just after the heavy ion collision is obtained by using a holographic dual model for the heavy ion collision. In this dual model colliding ions are described by the charged shock gravitational waves. Points on the phase diagram correspond to the QGP or hadronic matter with given temperatures and chemical potentials. The phase of QGP in dual terms is related to the case when the collision of shock waves leads to formation of trapped surface. Hadronic matter and other confined states correspond to the absence of trapped surface after collision. Multiplicity of the ion collision process is estimated in the dual language as area of the trapped surface. We show that a non-zero chemical potential reduces the multiplicity. To plot the phase diagram we use two different dual models of colliding ions, the point and the wall shock waves, and find qualitative agreement of the results., Comment: 33 pages, 14 figures, typos corrected
