This study extends the existing discourse on employability. Drawing on regulatory focus theory, we contend that workaholism (a pull factor) and job insecurity (a push factor) constitute two critical antecedents that predict sustained employability. Moreover, we investigate the mediating roles of job crafting and presenteeism. To explain and test these predictions, we employed a mixed-methods approach and conducted two studies. Study 1 was an exploratory study to explore the hidden motives behind presenteeism that can predict sustained employability. The findings (themes) from this study guide the conceptual framework tested in the second study. In Study 2, we conducted a field survey across two waves on 498 employees from private sector educational institutions. The results reveal that both the pull factor (workaholism) and push factor (job insecurity) predict sustained employability through two distinct paths. Furthermore, promotion-oriented job crafting and approach-motives presenteeism serially mediate the relationship between workaholism and sustained employability, whereas prevention-oriented job crafting and avoidance-motives presenteeism serially mediate the relationship between job insecurity and sustained employability. These findings offer valuable insights for organizations and HR managers, enabling them to create more supportive and adaptive work environments that align with varied employee approaches to sustained employability. This study examines the role of employee proactive personality in shaping individual and team performance. We propose that these relationships are mediated by individual and collaborative job crafting. We draw on regulatory focus theory and collect survey data from frontline employees in the hospitality industry firms in Pakistan. Data are collected in multi-level (individual and team) and time-lagged fashion (two waves) from 42 teams working in the hospitality industry. Data are analyzed using multilevel structural equation modeling (MSEM) technique. Findings reveal a positive association of proactive personality with individual and collaborative crafting. Furthermore, individual crafting shows a positive mediating role in the relationship between proactive personality and individual performance; however, the same in the case of collaborative crafting is not confirmed. We make several contributions and offer implications for theory, practice and policy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This implicit gap is addressed by exploring a new perspective of presenteeism and proposing employeesâ calling as its precursor with the help of self-determination theory (SDT). The mediating mechanism is explicated with job crafting by considering it a sensemaking strategy that offers a plausible explanation of the positive association between an employeeâs calling and presenteeism. This research is an attempt to explore the positive side of presenteeism and generalize the presenteeism findings in another sector apart from the medical field, as this phenomenon is gaining widespread acceptance in HR literature. Methods: The data were collected from 274 employees from the textile sector, and the hypotheses were tested using SmartPLS software. We collected time-lagged data from the textile sector employees of Pakistan. The individual-level data have been collected to test the relationship between calling, job crafting, and presenteeism. Results: The results indicate the positive association between calling and presenteeism through direct and indirect paths. However, the mediating mechanism through two dimensions of job crafting, crafting challenging job demands and crafting social job resources, was not supported. Conclusion: Drawing on SDT, we contribute to the literature by identifying calling as an antecedent of presenteeism. We propose and test the direct and indirect relationships between calling, job crafting, and presenteeism. Future researchers might attempt to test this model in different sectors like multinational companies, educational institutions, healthcare, retail, etc. The proposed relationships also lend themselves to be explicated with other mediators. Keywords: calling, job crafting, presenteeism, self-determination theory

- Abstract
In contemporary studies, leadership has been frequently highlighted as an important aspect in facilitating innovative work behavior (IWB) in ever-changing organizations. Drawn on social learning theory, this research investigated the influence of ethical leadership (EL) on employee's innovative behaviors (IWB). The relationship between ethical leadership (EL) and employee innovative behavior (IWB) is mediated by job crafting (JC), with the moderating role of self-leadership (SL) also being studied. In total, 370 valid responses were retrieved from the service industry of Zhejiang province in China. The study used Mplus 8.0 to run the moderated mediation model. It is found that ethical leadership (EL) is positively linked with innovative work behavior (IWB) and job crafting (JC). Subsequently, the study also found that job crafting (JC) is significantly related to innovative work behavior (IWB). Additionally, the study confirms that job crating (JC) significantly mediates the relationship between ethical leadership (EL) and innovative work behavior (IWB). Additionally, the study reveals that a high level of self-leadership (SL) strengthens the association between ethical leadership (EL) and job crafting (JC). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study explores the influence of challenge stressors on identity orientation directly and via thriving at work and employee investment. Drawing on the broaden–and–build theory of positive emotions, this study proposes challenge stressors as a critical predictor of identity orientation. The purpose of this article is to explore if a particular identity is salient in different contextual factors, and this study suggests that challenge stressors stimulate personal, relational, and collective identities to respond to a situation. The relationships hypothesized in this study were tested using a sample of 225 employees from the banking sector of Pakistan. A time-lagged research design consisting of two waves of data collection was employed. A structural equation modeling technique was used to test the hypotheses regarding the relationship between challenge stressors and identity orientation, including the role of thriving at work and employee investment as intervening mechanisms of this relationship. Results showed that challenge stressors had a significant positive relationship with identity orientation. The results also confirmed the sequential mediation of thriving at work and employee investment in the relationship between challenge stressors and identity orientation. The findings suggest that the positive side of stress as a strength motivates employees for continued self-development. Importantly, challenge stressors enhance employees' ability to thrive at work and, in turn, they invest in the work more and identify themselves strongly with their organization and work. PRACTICAL politics - Abstract
With a proven track record of lies, double-speak and rhetorical about-turns, the PTI, led by Imran Khan, seems to have set another bad precedent by relying upon opportunists of the current era only to get power back. P#07#P No government is supposed to go beyond the state as well as its defence institutions. However, Pakistan, since its very beginning, has been failed by the people who claim to be its servants and it is the country which always ends up being an ultimate casualty of the power play played by its own saviours.
