The analysis of the gamma p ->eta pi(0)p reaction has been performed using data from the GRAAL experiment. The total and differential cross sections and the beam asymmetry have been obtained from threshold up to 1.5 GeV of beam energy. The two resonances S-11(1535) and Delta(1700) are expected to be excited in the intermediate states of this reaction. The results are used to test predictions based on the assumption that both resonances are dynamically generated from the meson-baryon interaction provided by chiral Lagrangians. The term involving the Delta(1700) excitation, followed by the decay into eta Delta(1232), is found to be dominant.

16 figures; 4 tables; Beam asymmetries and hyperon recoil polarizations for the reactions $\gamma p \to K^{+}\Lambda$ and $\gamma p \to K^{+}\Sigma^{0}$ have been measured from the threshold production to 1500 MeV with the GRAAL facility located at the ESRF in Grenoble. These results complement the database for the beam asymmetry, covering for the first time the production threshold region. Recent theoretical analyses are presented for which the beam asymmetry data bring interesting new information and allow to better determine some resonance parameters. Most importantly, these results strengthen the need of a new D$_{13}$ state around 1900 MeV.

The differential cross section for the reaction p(gamma, eta p) has been measured from threshold to 1100 MeV photon laboratory energy. For the first time, the region of the S11(1535) resonance is fully covered in a photoproduction experiment and allows a precise extraction of its parameters at the photon point. Above 1000 MeV, S-wave dominance vanishes while a P-wave contribution is observed whose nature will have to be clarified. These high precision data together with the already measured beam asymmetry data will provide stringent constraints on the extraction of new couplings of baryon resonances to the eta meson., 10 pages, 5 figures, submitted to Phys.
