Purposes It is important to explore the law of capillary action on the corrosion of X70 steel in soil. Methods On the basis of the theory of unsaturated soil and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, combined with polarization curve technology, electrochemical impedance technology, scanning electron microscopy, and other test methods, the electrochemical corrosion behavior of X70 steel caused by capillarity in silty clay was investigated through the simulation test of one-dimensional soil column instrument under indoor conditions. Findings The test results show that capillary action has a certain influence on the electrochemical corrosion behavior of X70 steel, that is, the corrosion rates of steel sheet at the height of 12 and 27 cm of soil column first increase and then decrease with embedding time, and the corrosion rate of steel sheet at the height of 42 and 57 cm of soil column first decrease and then increase with embedding time; The rising rate of capillary water in silty clay meets the law of being first fast and then slow. Conclusions The corrosion type of X70 steel sheet surface is mainly pitting corrosion, and the corrosion product surface is accompanied by deep and wide cracks. With the increase of soil sample height, the corrosion degree decreases, and the size and number of corrosion pits show a decreasing trend on the whole. In the rising process of capillary water, when X70 steel sheet is at the solid-liquid-gas three-phase boundary, its corrosion rate is the fastest and the corrosion degree is the most serious.

Abstract Background Studies have found that in healthy individuals without nasal disease, changes in posture cause an increase in nasal resistance, especially in the prone posture. Many patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) sleep in a prone posture, but no studies have examined the effect of this change in posture on nasal resistance in patients with OSAS. Therefore, we conducted this study to investigate this posture-related physical phenomenon in individuals with OSAS. Methods We evaluated the nasal patency of 29 patients diagnosed with OSAS using the visual analog scale (VAS), acoustic rhinometry, and video-endoscopy in the sitting, supine, and prone postures. Results In the OSAS group, both supine and prone postures significantly influenced subjective nasal blockage and led to a notable reduction in the minimal cross-sectional area (mCSA) as determined by acoustic rhinometry, compared to the sitting posture. The prone posture exhibited a more pronounced effect than the supine posture. Endoscopic evaluations further revealed increased hypertrophy of the inferior turbinate in the supine posture for the right nasal passage and the prone posture for the left. However, no significant differences were observed between the prone and supine postures. Conclusion In OSAS patients, nasal resistance significantly increased in supine and prone postures compared to sitting, with the prone posture showing a greater effect. Clinicians should consider a patient’s habitual sleep posture and the effects of postural changes when assessing OSAS severity and devising treatment plans. Level of Evidence 4.

Abstract We probed the associations of preoperative modified geriatric nutritional risk index (mGNRI) values with prognosis in patients receiving surgery for oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OCSCC). This retrospective study analyzed the clinical data of 333 patients with OCSCC and undergoing surgery between 2008 and 2017. The preoperative mGNRI was calculated using the following formula: (14.89/C-reactive protein level) + 41.7 × (actual body weight/ideal body weight). We executed receiver operating characteristic curve analyses to derive the optimal mGNRI cutoff and employed Kaplan–Meier survival curves and Cox proportional hazard model to probe the associations of the mGNRI with overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS). Abstract The developmental phase of the fault deformation zone denotes the zone of weak deformation (with strong concealment) that evolves within the sedimentary cover of the basin. Recent studies have unveiled the objectively existing tectonic phenomenon of weakly deformed tectonic belts within the sedimentary basin cover, closely intertwined with oil and gas accumulation. To elucidate the deformation intensity and hydrocarbon accumulation scale within the cap cover deformation zone, a pivotal concern in oil and gas geology, this study focuses on the Dongying Sag. The structural physical simulation experiment method, incorporating variable caprock thickness and variable shear strength, is employed to scrutinize the impact of basement fault strike-slip activity on the development of faults in the sedimentary caprock of the basin and dyed oil is charged. In conjunction with sag examples, Early R shear single-channel migration-isolated aggregation, Early and mid-term R shear main channel migration-geese and beaded aggregation, P shear main channel migration-intermittent zonal aggregation, Full channel migration-continuous belt aggregation accumulation models of basement faults are established. It is emphasized that the R shear pressurized deformation section and the R and P shear intersection section in the deformation zone are favorable target areas for oil and gas exploration.
