Introduction: Computed Tomography (CT) remains an important tool in diagnostic imaging. Establishment of Diagnostic Reference Levels (DRL) is highly recommended in order to have a check on the radiation exposure. Aim: To study the correlation between the Anteroposterior (AP) diameter of abdomen with the CT Dose Index (CTDI) and Dose Length Product (DLP) in those who underwent abdomen CT scan. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study was conducted at Chettinad Academy of Research and Education, in the Department of Radiology during January 2019 to April 2019. The data of 66 patients (44 males and 22 females, aged 18-80 years), who have undergone CT scan during study period of three months were retrieved from CT console. A bezoar refers to a mass of undigestible foreign material found in the gastrointestinal tract, mainly stomach. The second most common bezoar is the trichobezoar, which usually occurs in the young psychiatric female patients with history of trichotillomania and trichophagia. This is a case report of a 12 -year-old female patient came with complaints of diffuse abdominal pain, vomiting, and constipation. Ultrasound, Barium X-ray and Computed Tomography scan were done, which suggested trichobezoar. Thus, trichobezoar should be considered as differential diagnosis of abdominal pain in young female patients with associated psychiatric complaints. A review is presented here, as a high index of suspicion for better diagnostic facilities which can help in timely diagnosis and intervention, to prevent further complications like intestinal obstruction, perforation and mortality in such children.

Carbon-decorated ferrite nanodots (MNF@Cs) have been enhanced with superparamagnetism and higher fluorescence quantum yield by encapsulation with an alginate derivative to create a cost-effective and less toxic multimodal contrast agent for replacing the conventional heavy metal Gd-containing contrast agent used in MR imaging. The novel surface-engineered particles (MNF@C-OSAs), devoid of labels, can simultaneously provide both longitudinal and transverse relaxation-based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and fluorescence emission. According to the findings of in vitro studies, the calculated molar relaxivities and the molar radiant efficiencies are indicative of the multimodal efficacy of MNF@C-OSA as compared with MNF@C particles and conventional contrast agents used in medical imaging. MNF@C-OSAs were shown to be significantly biocompatible and negligibly toxic when assessed against A549 cells and zebrafish embryos, indicating their potential for use as theranostic agents.
