The aim of the current research is to make an experimental study for using hand embroidery (canvas) to make hand bags with the colors of Egyptian flag in order to spread the national spirit of the youth , express the national character and the service of small projects to eliminate the problem of unemployment ,so that (27) samples were done by using differente variables : three materials (plastic canvas- etamine - burlap ), three types of thread ( cotton – acrylic- synthetic silk ) three density ( 1, 2 ,3 ) thread with one design on canvas stitch , A questionnaire was done to identify the opinions of specialists in samples and including three axies: The first was Foundations and elements of design,the second was the functional side, and the third was (The innovative and aesthetic side). The results were analyzed statistically to know the best samples then hand bags were made from the best samples from the opinions of specialists then two questionnaire was done to specialists in clothes and textile field and customers of faculty girls. The research found that the plastic canvas was the best quality factors of all variables then etamine fabrics and the burlap was the least one of all variables .One the other hand the cotton thread was the best one then the acrylic and the silk was the least. The research can contribute to attracting tourism and expressing the Egyptian identity and its intention for a small project to solve the problem of unemployment.

Surgical abdominal emergencies among patients with cerebral palsy (CP) are infrequently reported. The most commonly reported reason for urgent and emergent abdominal surgery among patients with CP is intestinal volvulus. Intestinal volvulus leads to obstruction and vascular compromise, potentially resulting in life-threatening ischemia and necrosis. Volvulus typically presents with abdominal pain and decreased bowel function. When patients are nonverbal and have baseline bowel dysfunction, symptoms of volvulus can be difficult to diagnose. Here, we present a case of an adult female patient with CP who presented with ischemic colitis with perforation and underwent emergency total colectomy and end-ileostomy. Her postoperative course was complicated by two episodes of intestinal volvulus that occurred one and three months after the initial operation. At the second presentation, she had global bowel ischemia due to the volvulus, which led to her death. The present work studies the effect of introducing MOX fuel on Westinghouse AP1000 neutronic parameters. The neutronic calculations were performed by using the MCNP6 code with the ENDF/B-VII.1 library and the new release of the ENDF/B-VIII, the AP1000 core with three 235U enrichment zones (2.35 %, 3.40 %, and 4.45 %). The obtained results showed that the simulated model for the AP1000 core satisfies the optimization criteria as a Westing- house reference. The results which included: effective multiplication factor, keff, delayed neutron fraction, beff, excess reactivity, rex, shutdown margin, temperature reactivity coefficients, whole core depletion, neutron flux, power peaking factor and core power density, were calculated and compared with the available published results. The keff in the cold zero power was found to be 1.20495 and 1.20247 with the ENDF/B-VII.1 and the ENDF/B-VIII libraries, respectively, which matches the value of 1.205 presented in the AP1000 Design Control Document for the UO2 fuel core. On the other hand, keff in the cold zero power was found to be 1.19988 and 1.19860 for MOX core with the ENDF/B-VII.1 and the ENDF/B-VIII libraries, respectively, which show good reception and confirm the safety of the design and efficient modeling of AP1000 reactor core.

The article discusses the factors affecting the reduction of the energy consumption of feed chopping and the justification of the feed chopper parameters. There is a design and principle of operation of the laboratory setup presented and described. A corn cob chopper with improved chopping quality reduces energy consumption, lowers operating costs and improves feed digestibility.

The World Health Organization (WHO) predicted that 10 million people would have died of cancer by 2020. According to recent studies, liver cancer is the most prevalent cancer worldwide. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the leading cause of early-stage liver cancer. However, HCC occurs most frequently in patients with chronic liver conditions (such as cirrhosis). Therefore, it is important to predict liver cancer more explicitly by using machine learning. This study examines the survival prediction of a dataset of HCC based on three strategies. Originally, missing values are estimated using mean, mode, and k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN). We then compare the different select features using the wrapper and embedded methods. The embedded method employs Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) and ridge regression in conjunction with Logistic Regression (LR). In the wrapper method, gradient boosting and random forests eliminate features recursively. Classification algorithms for predicting results include k-NN, Random Forest (RF), and Logistic Regression. The experimental results indicate that Recursive Feature Elimination with Gradient Boosting (RFE-GB) produces better results, with a 96.66% accuracy rate and a 95.66% F1-score. In this paper, neutronic calculations and the core analysis of the VVER-1000 reactor were performed using MCNP6 code together with both ENDF/B-VII.1 and ENDF/B-VIII libraries. The effect of thorium introduction on the neutronic parameters of the VVER-1000 reactor was discussed. The reference core was initially filled with enriched uranium oxide fuel and then fueled with uranium-thorium fuel. The calculations determine the delayed neutron fraction βeff, the temperature reactivity coefficients, the fuel consumption, and the production of the transuranic elements during reactor operation. βeff and the Doppler coefficient (DC) are found to be in agreement with the design values. It is found that the core loaded with uranium and thorium has lower delayed neutron fraction than the uranium oxide core. The moderator temperature coefficients of the uranium-thorium core are found to be higher than those of the uranium core. Results indicated that thorium has lower production of minor actinides (MAs) and transuranic elements (mainly plutonium isotopes) compared with the relatively large amounts produced from the uranium-based fuel UO2. This work aims at implementing new approaches for Virtual Identity (V Id ) in cloud environments. Our objective is to create an identity that could help in preventing the reverse of access chain in the cloud through hiding the main user identity. This means that, instead of executing a service for a known identity in cloud environment (unknown place), we hope to execute a service with an unknown identity (V Id ) in an unknown environment. For achieving the high degree of security and efficiency, we implement a new anonymous access for cloud environments using V Id . This identity is implemented and verified using Multi-precision Integer and Rational Arithmetic C/C++ (MIRACL library) either Identity Based Encryption (IBE) or Pseudonym Based Encryption (PBE) mechanisms. Long-Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) is an open-source protocol for the standard Internet of Things (IoT) Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN). This work's focal point is the LoRa Multi-Armed Bandit decentralized decision-making solution. The contribution of this paper is to study the effect of the re-learning EXP3 Multi-Armed Bandit (MAB) algorithm with previous experts' advice on the LoRaWAN network performance. LoRa smart node has a self-managed EXP3 algorithm for choosing and updating the transmission parameters based on its observation. The best parameter choice needs previously associated distribution advice (expert) before updating different choices for confidence. The paper proposes a new approach to study the effects of combined expert distribution for each transmission parameter on the LoRaWAN network performance. The successful transmission of the packet with optimized power consumption is the pivot of this paper. The validation of the simulation result has proven that combined expert distribution improves LoRaWAN network's performance in terms of data throughput and power consumption. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This work represents a method to stimulate illitic sandstone formations using in-situ generated hydrofluoric acid (HF) in the presence of thermochemicals. Using traditional mud acid for stimulating such reservoirs would cause a huge damage to the formation rather than enhancing its permeability. In this study, HF acid precursor reacts with an oxidizer in the presence of an exothermic reaction to generate HF acid downhole. Besides the high temperature generated inside the near-wellbore area, the pressure will build-up due to produced nitrogen gas from the thermochemicals reaction. The high pressure provides enough energy to flows back the well and removes any resulted precipitate. Firstly, the solubility of quartz and clay minerals in the new chemical mixture was tested. After that, core flooding tests were run for Scioto sandstone cores of 6-inch length and 1.5-inch diameter. Two different approaches were adopted for this treatment; (1) to remove the core damage and enhance its permeability using the acid generating fluids, (2) to stimulate the core using both the acid generating fluids and the thermochemicals. The core petrophysical and mechanical properties are evaluated before and after the acidizing process using core flooding tests, NMR scans and scratch tests. The core permeability got enhanced by about 37.5% after being treated with the acid generating fluids. The Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) analysis of the core flooding effluent showed that the total chelated amount of Si4+ ions from the core reached 49 mg. The scratch test showed a decrease in the Scioto core strength after the acid treatment by about 770 psi. Moreover, the core dynamic Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio were reduced by 550 ksi and 0.01 respectively. On the other hand, the NMR scanning for Scioto core showed an enhancement in the core total porosity after the acid treatment. The generated pressure pulse from the thermochemicals pushes the acid generated deeper into the formation and highly increased the stimulation process efficiency. Upon application of this new stimulation technology, the true production potential of sandstone reservoirs can be achieved, corrosivity will be minimized and handling hazardous chemicals (HF) will be avoided. • New method to generate in-situ HF acid was introduced. • Solubility experiments showed the effectiveness of the generated acid to react with both clays and quartz. • Coreflooding experiments showed good improvement in core permeability. • The generated acid created micro fractures in addition to its dissolving power. • The generated acid did not change that much the rock integrity. Background: Tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) has provided an objective means to quantify global and regional ventricular functions with improved accuracy and greater reproducibility than conventional echocardiography. This study was conducted to assess right ventricular (RV) myocardial systolic activation by TDI in children with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).Methods: Forty pediatric patients with PAH and 20 healthy controls, underwent standard echocardiogram and TDI. In the apical 4 chamber view the following regional parameters were evaluated in three different myocardial segments (RV basal lateral, basal septal and LV basal lateral): systolic (Sm), early- and late-diastolic (Em and Am) peak velocities. RV myocardial systolic activation delay was defined as the difference in time to peak TDI systolic velocities between the RV basal lateral wall and basal septal. In addition, RV end-diastolic and end-systolic areas were measured to calculate RV fractional area change (FAC).Results: Compared with the control group, pediatric patients with PAH showed reduced RV FAC; 37.6±14% versus 48±5% (P0.0024). The patients group showed lower myocardial peak velocities and a significant activation delay compared with controls (P0.0001). There was a significant negative correlation between RV myocardial systolic activation delay and RV FAC. RV myocardial systolic activation delay was even present in a subset of patients with normal FAC.Conclusions: In PAH, RV myocardial systolic activation was markedly delayed and showed significant negative correlation with the RV FAC. RV myocardial systolic activation delay could offer a unique approach to predict early RV dysfunction before the decline in RV FAC is evident. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

Background: Ulcerative colitis, total colectomy and tofacitinib have all been associated with increased risk of venous thromboembolism., Objective: To determine if preoperative tofacitinib exposure increases venous thromboembolism or other postoperative complications among patients with ulcerative colitis undergoing subtotal colectomy, total colectomy or total proctocolectomy., Design: Retrospective, case-control study at a single institution., Settings: A tertiary referral center., Patients: Adult patients with ulcerative colitis undergoing subtotal colectomy, total colectomy or total proctocolectomy after 2018 who were taking tofacitinib within 30 days of surgery (n = 56) were compared to age and sex-matched patients with ulcerative colitis undergoing the same surgeries but who were not exposed to tofacitinib (n = 56)., Main Outcome Measure: The primary outcome was differences in the incidence of venous thromboembolism within 90 days of surgery based on tofacitinib exposure. Secondary outcomes were 90-day postoperative complications., Results: Groups were well matched for age (non-tofacitinib: mean 35.2 years [SD 12.0], tofacitinib: 35.9 [SD 12.1], p = 0.36) and sex (41% female in each group, p = 1.00). Medical characteristics were similar between groups except for biologic medication exposure 30 days before surgery (non-tofacitinib: 66%, tofacitinib: 36%, p = 0.004). Surgical characteristics did not differ between groups. Most patients were discharged on extended venous thromboembolism prophylaxis (non-tofacitinib: 80% and tofacitinib: 77%). Adjusted for biologic exposure, there were no statistically significant differences in venous thromboembolism (non-tofacitinib exposed: 14%, tofacitinib-exposed: 4%, p = 0.09) or other postoperative outcomes., Limitation: Retrospective, single institutional study., Conclusion: Among patients with ulcerative colitis undergoing total colectomy or proctocolectomy, exposure to tofacitinib was not associated with an increased risk of venous thromboembolism or other postoperative complications. Drilling hydrocarbon formations where hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S) is present could lead to the carryover of H 2 S with the drilling mud (i.e., drilling fluid) to the surface, exposing working personnel to this lethal gas. Additionally, H 2 S is very corrosive, causing severe corrosion of metal parts of the drilling equipment, which in turn results in serious operational problems. The addition of an effective H 2 S scavenger(s) in the drilling mud formulations will overcome these health, safety, and operational issues. In this work, zinc oxide (ZnO), which is a common H 2 S scavenger, has been incorporated into water-based drilling mud. The H 2 S scavenging performance of this ZnO-containing drilling mud has been assessed. Additionally, drilling mud formulations containing either copper nitrate (Cu(NO 3 ) 2 ·3H 2 O) or potassium permanganate (KMnO 4 ) have been prepared, and their H 2 S scavenging performances have been studied and compared to that of the ZnO-containing drilling mud. It has been observed that the scavenging performance (in terms of the H 2 S amounts scavenged up to the breakthrough time and at the saturation condition) of the ZnO-containing drilling mud is very poor compared to those of the copper nitrate-containing and KMnO 4 -containing drilling muds. For instance, the amounts of H 2 S scavenged up to the breakthrough time by ZnO-containing, copper nitrate-containing, and KMnO 4 -containing drilling muds were 5.5, 15.8, and 125.3 mg/g, respectively. Furthermore, the amounts of H 2 S scavenged at the saturation condition by these drilling muds were, respectively, 35.1, 146.8, and 307.5 mg/g, demonstrating the superiority of the KMnO 4 -containing drilling mud. Besides its attractive H 2 S scavenging performance, the KMnO 4 -containing drilling mud possessed more favorable rheological properties [i.e., plastic viscosity (PV), yield point (YP), carrying capacity of the drill cuttings, and gelling characteristics] relative to the base and the ZnO-containing and copper nitrate-containing drilling muds. The addition of KMnO 4 to the base drilling mud increased its apparent viscosity, PV, and YP by 20, 33, and 10%, respectively. Additionally, all tested drilling muds possessed acceptable fluid loss characteristics. In this study, an in situ-generated hydrofluoric acid (HF) was used for sandstone acidizing, where an acid precursor (ammonium fluoride NH 4 F) reacted with a suitable oxidizer (sodium bromates NaBrO 3 ) in an exothermic reaction. First, the new chemical mixture was prepared to react with pure quartz samples and the reaction effluent was analyzed to identify the presence of Si + ions using the inductively coupled plasma (ICP) technique. Core flooding experiments were performed using Gray Berea sandstone cores (6 in. length and 1.5 in. diameter). A preflush stage of 5 PV of 7 wt % HCl was injected to remove any calcite content in the core. The main chemicals were then flushed for 3 successive cycles of 1 PV each. To assure core integrity, scratch tests and NMR scans were run on the core sample before and after the treatment. The new chemical mixture could dissolve the quartz sample and reduce its weight by 80 mg. The concentration of the dissolved Si + ions was more than 90 ppm. This proves the capability of the chemical mixture to generate HF. The initial core permeability was measured at a stabilized flow rate of 2 cm 3 /min to be 33 mD. After the acid preflush stage, the core permeability reduced to 31 mD. Core permeability increased immediately after the first treatment cycle and reached 41 mD. At the end, the core flooding results showed a permeability improvement for Gray Berea sandstone cores by almost 40%. The ICP analysis of the effluent showed a total amount of chelated Si + ions of about 10.5 mg. In addition to the high temperature generated in the near-wellbore area, the pressure increased because of the produced nitrogen gas from the exothermic reaction and reached about 600 psi. The scratch test showed an increase in the sample uniaxial compressive strength from 7432 to 9235 psi. The dynamic Poisson's ratio and the dynamic Young's modulus increased as well from 0.17 to 0.19 and from 2159 to 3585 ksi, respectively. The enhancement in the mechanical properties of the core can be attributed to the presence of the potassium element in Berea cores and its solidification reaction with the HF generated. The NMR measurements of the core sample before and after the acidizing process show an increase in the core porosity; however, the core preserved its original pore system. Upon application of this new stimulation technology, the true production potential of sandstone reservoirs can be achieved, well tubular corrosion will be minimized, and handling hazardous chemicals such as HF will be avoided.
