Background/Objectives: Nuclear pleomorphism, a crucial determinant of breast cancer grading under the Nottingham Histopathology Grading (NHG) system, remains inadequately quantified in the existing literature. Motivated by this gap, our study seeks to investigate and establish correlations among morphological features across various scores of nuclear pleomorphism, as per the NHG system. We aim to quantify nuclear pleomorphism across these scores and validate our proposed measurement method against ground-truth data. Methods: Initially, we deconstruct the descriptions of nuclear pleomorphism into three core elements: size, shape, and appearance. These elements are subsequently mathematically modeled into equations, termed E S i z e , E S h a p e , and E A p p e a r a n c e . These equations are then integrated into a unified model termed Harmonic Mean (HM). The HM equation yields a value approaching 1 for nuclei demonstrating characteristics of score-3 nuclear pleomorphism and near 0 for those exhibiting features of score-1 nuclear pleomorphism. Results: The proposed HM model demonstrates promising performance metrics, including Accuracy, Recall, Specificity, Precision, and F1-score, with values of 0.97, 0.96, 0.97, 0.94, and 0.95, respectively. The widespread adoption of cyber-physical systems and other cutting-edge digital technology in manufacturing industry production facilities may motivate stakeholders to embrace the idea of Industry 4.0. Some industrial companies already have different sensors installed on their machines; however, without proper analysis, the data collected is not useful. This systematic review's main goal is to synthesize the existing evidence on the application of predictive maintenance (PdM) with visual aids and to identify the key knowledge gaps in areas including utilities, power generation, industry, and energy consumption. After a thorough search and evaluation for relevancy, 37 documents were identified. Moreover, we identified the visual analytics of PdM, including anomaly detection, planning/scheduling, exploratory data analysis (EDA), and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI). The findings revealed that anomaly detection was a major domain in PdM-related works. We conclude that most of the literature lacks depth in terms of an overall framework that combines data-driven and knowledge-driven techniques of PdM in the manufacturing industry. Some works that utilized both techniques indicated promising results, but there is insufficient research on involving maintenance personnel's feedback in the latter stage of PdM architecture. Thus, there are still pertinent issues that need to be investigated, and limitations that need to be overcome before PdM is deployed with minimal human involvement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper compares ASIC and FPGA implementations of two commonly used architectures for 2-dimensional discrete cosine transform (DCT), the parallel and folded architectures. The DCT has been designed for sizes 4x4, 8x8, and 16x16, and implemented on Silterra 180nm ASIC and Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale FPGA. The objective is to determine suitable low energy architectures to be used as their characteristics greatly differ in terms of cells usage, placement and routing methods on these platforms. The parallel and folded DCT architectures for all three sizes have been designed using Verilog HDL, including the basic serializer-deserializer input and output. Results show that for large size transform of 16x16, ASIC parallel architecture results in roughly 30% less energy compared to folded architecture. As for FPGAs, folded architecture results in roughly 34% less energy compared to parallel architecture. In terms of overall energy consumption between 180nm ASIC and Xilinx Ultrascale, ASIC implementation results in about 58% less energy compared to the FPGA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Having an autonomous system to alarm for violence or suspicious incidence could greatly strengthen the security system. Such autonomous system could also be useful for other application such as patient monitoring, retail shop, and children surveillance. However, the current technology has not yet reach the level to effectively analyze the video since currently most video surveillance system could not understand the events happen in the video. Complex changes in environment caused by camera motion, dynamic scene such as crowds, changes in lighting intensity, viewing from different angles, wide variation in spatial (e.g. size of interest subject relative to video) and temporal (speed of the subjects in performing actions) make video analysis task a very challenging task. Even with these difficulties, researches in improving video analysis methods are still being actively explored. Some research approaches in violence incidence detection resembling the method used in detecting abnormal incidence. Instead of detecting whether an incidence have occurred, we attempt to build a model to detect the actions related to violence. In this paper, an online detection model is built to detect specific action related to violence actions. The model is built with reference of the image object detection (Faster-Region Convolution Neural Network, Faster-RCNN) and video action detection (Tube-Convolution Neural Network, TCNN).
