Backgrounds/Aims Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is generally diagnosed at an advanced stage, which limits curative treatment options for these patients. Locoregional therapy (LRT) is the standard approach to bridge and downstage unresectable HCC for liver transplantation (LT). Atezolizumab-bevacizumab (atezo-bev) can induce objective responses in nearly one-third of patients; however, the role and outcomes of downstaging using atezo-bev remains unknown. Methods In this retrospective single-center study, we included consecutive patients between November 2020 and August 2023, who received atezo-bev with or without LRT and were subsequently considered for resection/LT after downstaging. Results Of the 115 patients who received atezo-bev, 12 patients (10.4%) achieved complete or partial response and were willing to undergo LT; they (age, 58.5 years; women, 17%; Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage system B/C, 5/7) had received 3-12 cycles of atezo- bev, and four of them had received prior LRT. Three patients died before LT, while three were awaiting LT. Six patients underwent curative therapies: four underwent living donor LT after a median of 79.5 days (range, 54-114) following the last atezo-bev dose, one underwent deceased donor LT 38 days after the last dose, and one underwent resection. All but one patient had complete pathologic response with no viable HCC. Three patients experienced wound healing complications, and one required re-exploration and succumbed to sepsis. After a median follow-up of 10 months (range, 4-30), none of the alive patients developed HCC recurrence or graft rejection. Conclusions Surgical therapy, including LT, is possible after atezo-bev therapy in well-selected patients after downstaging.

The article examines the relationship between proactive job crafting and workplace happiness in the context of millennials associated with the Indian service sector. This study was conducted with 310 millennial employees associated with IT and ITES, telecom, and banking services. The study used self-reporting questionnaires, and the hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling. The study highlights the nature of job crafting in a hitherto under-researched sector of the Indian economy. The findings suggest that job crafting has a positive influence on driving employee happiness. Crafting structural job resources predicted millennials' job satisfaction and work engagement. Crafting by seeking social resources and challenging demands was positively associated with commitment and engagement. The study is relevant in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic when organizations are keen to address employee happiness at work. It provides evidence from the Indian service organizations for the implications of adopting job crafting behavior at work to test the adoption of theories developed in the Anglo-Saxon cultures. For hybrid electric vehicles, the batteries and the drive dc link may be at different voltages. The batteries are at low voltage to obtain higher volumetric efficiencies, and the dc link is at higher voltage to have higher efficiency on the motor side. Therefore, a power interface between the batteries and the drive's dc link is essential. This power interface should handle power flow from battery to motor, motor to battery, external genset to battery, and grid to battery. This paper proposes a multi-power-port topology which is capable of handling multiple power sources and still maintains simplicity and features like obtaining high gain, wide load variations, lower output-current ripple, and capability of parallel-battery energy due to the modular structure. The scheme incorporates a transformer winding technique which drastically reduces the leakage inductance of the coupled inductor. The development and testing of a bidirectional flyback dc-dc converter for hybrid electric vehicle is described in this paper. Simple hysteresis voltage control is used for dc-link voltage regulation. The experimental results are presented to show the working of the proposed converter. Presently, induction motor adjustable speed drives are being popular in the industrial applications replacing existing techniques such as Direct Current (DC) motors and Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) bridges. In this paper, the induction motor's stator inter-turn fault has been diagnosed by advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technique. The Wavelet Transform (WT) algorithm is applied for stator winding fault diagnosis purpose in the transitory period. The wavelet transform's approximation signal is chosen for stator inter-turn fault diagnosis purpose for variable load effectively. The obtained results by WT technique demonstrated that the early fault detection is possible and it is prevented before the machine reaches the disastrous conditions. Induction motors are the one of the most important production machines of any industry around the world. Therefore, the condition monitoring of induction motors is very important for successful and profitable running of an industry. Broken rotor bars are one of the critical health problems of any induction motor. To tackle this, application of Stockwell-Transform (ST) is presented in this paper. ST has been applied on the simulated signal of rotor broken bar and the results are compared with the Fast Fourier Transform method, which is a frequency domain analysis method. Normally, frequency domain analysis fails to detect the broken bar of the rotor if the severity of damage is low. The results obtained by applying ST confirms that the ST transform is able to detect the breakage of rotor bar better if the damage level is small. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Indian Information Technology (IT) industry is going through a dynamic state of existence. Ongoing geopolitical shifts, technological transformations, and emerging avenues in corporate and entrepreneurial territories have driven its professionals towards diversified career decision making. Some decisions go well, fulfilling wishes and aspirations, while others go wrong, causing unfavorable career experiences, possibly manifesting through a negative, upward counterfactual thinking of 'things could have been done in better ways'. Undoubtedly, amidst opportunities and unpredictability of global employment market, such thinking might linger within professionals' mental framework, influencing career attitudes and behaviors. Nevertheless, this psychological aspect is rarely addressed in literature, specifically for professionals frequently exposed to abrupt career challenges. We attempted to fill this gap by focusing on such negative counterfactuals, in terms of career regrets, that were encountered by veteran Indian IT people while navigating vocational trajectories. Four major themes were identified, viz., career choice regrets, corporate regrets, career growth regrets and regrets regarding timely career movement. Additional themes, supplementary regrets and reflections from career regrets were obtained. Supplementary regrets mentioned repentance in other important life domains due to career. Nowadays, permanent magnet machines are being popular in the industries due to its higher efficiency compared to conventional electric motors. This paper presents the modeling and simulation of three and five phase permanent magnet synchronous motor machine for healthy as well as open phase fault condition. In this paper, the crucial performance of the system has been analyzed before failure and after failure. The after effect of failures might result in costly damage and lead to another fault, if nothing is planned earlier for this fault protection. This undesirable situation ought to be averted, or at least there may be a fault tolerant function to deal with such failures. Therefore, a control scheme under an open or multiple phase fault has been discussed in this paper for multi-phase PMSM drive with sinusoidal back EMFs. In the three phase system, one phase has been kept open, whereas for five phase system, two phases kept open one by one for analysis purpose. The fault has been created only for some instant of time, after occurring fault, the PI controller compensated phase faults. The rolling element bearings are used broadly in many machinery applications. It is used to support the load and preserve the clearance between stationary and rotating machinery elements. Unfortunately, rolling element bearings are exceedingly prone to premature failures. Vibration signal analysis has been widely used in the faults detection of rotating machinery and can be broadly classified as being a stationary or non-stationary signal. In the case of the faulty rolling element bearing the vibration signal is not strictly phase locked to the rotational speed of the shaft and become "transient" in nature. The purpose of this paper is to briefly discuss the identification of an Inner Raceway Fault (IRF) and an Outer Raceway Fault (ORF) with the different fault severity levels. The conventional statistical analysis was only able to detect the existence of a fault but unable to discriminate between IRF and ORF. In the present work, a detection technique named as bearing damage index (BDI) has been proposed. The proposed BDI technique uses wavelet packet node energy coefficient analysis method. The well-known combination of Hilbert transform (HT) and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) has been carried out in order to identify the IRF and ORF faults. The results show that wavelet packet node energy coefficients are not only sensitive to detect the faults in bearing but at the same time they are able to detect the severity level of the fault. In the present time, the multilevel inverters gained a large interest by the researchers due to proficient power conversion with multiple voltage steps and consequently improved power quality, higher electromagnetic compatibility, reduced switching losses, and better voltage capability. Generally, the multilevel inverters are widely used in the industries for high power and high voltage applications. The multilevel inverter topology synthesizes a sinusoidal voltage from several levels of voltages obtained from capacitor voltage sources. This paper presents a three phase five level diode clamped inverter fed induction motor drive. The simulation of the model has been done in the latest Matlab/Simulink environment. The proposed simulation model gives efficient results with reduced harmonics in the stator current of the motor. Further, the harmonic analysis of the inverter voltages has also been done. Furthermore, for reduction of significant harmonics, active filter has also been used. This proposed simulation model may be used in many power electronics and drive applications. Induction motor bearing is one of the key parts of the machine and its analysis and interpretation are important for fault detection. In the present work vibration signal has been taken for the classification i.e. bearing is Healthy (H) or Defective (D). For this purpose, clustering based classification of bearing vibration data has been carried out using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Self Organising Map (SOM). From the vibration signal, twelve statistical features have been extracted from both the healthy and the defected condition of the bearing. Further, these data are subjected to PCA to extract significant features relevant to cluster structure. It is observed that out of twelve features only four features are found significant which is feed to the SOM model. The SOM based classification is able to achieve an accuracy of 100%. This cluster-based method of feature reduction and classification could be useful in assessing the induction motor incipient bearing fault detection with large data set. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

These days, the induction motor driven by inverter, drives are being popular and used in the industries for variable speed applications with very competitive pricing. In this paper, a new dynamic pulse width modulated inverter fed squirrel cage induction motor simulation model is used for the stator inter-turn winding fault detection purpose. Through the proposed model, the transient behavior of the induction motor has been analyzed for healthy as well as for stator interturn faulty conditions by time domain approach. Therefore, early, stator inter-turn fault diagnosis is possible and may avoid the motor to reach in the catastrophic conditions. Therefore, may save large revenues for industries. Bearings are one of the critical components in rotating machines and the majority of failure arises from the defective bearings. Bearing failure leads to failure of a machine and unpredicted productivity loss for production facilities. Hence, bearing fault detection and diagnosis is an integral part of the preventive maintenance procedures. In this paper, vibration signals for four conditions of a deep groove ball bearing Normal (N), fault on Inner Race (IR), fault on ball and fault on Outer Race (OR) were acquired from a customized bearing test rig, under no load and full load condition and each load condition with two fault size 0.007 inch and 0.021 inch has been taken. Statistical parameter from the time domain has been used as a feature of vibration signal for the classification purpose. Sensitivity analysis is performed to understand the significance of each input feature on the ANN (Artificial Neural Network) output. This paper traces the basic concepts behind the predictive control strategy used in power converters and drives. Wide research on predictive control has been increasing day-by-day. With the availability of new digital control techniques, various schemes has been proposed. Predictive control scheme presents several advantages over other control schemes that makes it capable for various applications in the field of power electronics and drives i.e. inclusion of constraints and nonlinearities. A classification of predictive control scheme is presented and each scheme is described along with its application. This paper reflects the robustness as well as flexibility of predictive control scheme.
