This study investigates and predicts the tribological properties of an imidazolium ionic liquid modified graphene oxide (ILGO) with silicone rubber (QM) composite. The pin on the disc tribometer was utilized to conduct experimental tribological property analysis, with load, sliding velocity, and temperature as changing parameters. Coefficient of friction (COF) of QMILG01.5 was 42% lower than that of pure QM. Study found that ionic liquid serves as a self-lubricating layer for graphene, establishing a solid graphene-to-ionic liquid interface bond with the rubber matrix. The experimental data were utilized for training artificial neural networks (ANNs), which were then used to predict the COF of the nanocomposites for values for which the experiment was not performed. The produced composite's predictions of friction coefficient utilizing the ANN technique were quite close to experimental results. The work's fundamental goal is to buy experimentation verifies the COF of functionalized graphene oxide (ILGO) with silicone rubber composite, use the actual experimental values to train a deep neural network using Multilayer perceptron, and then use the trained network to predict the values of COF for which obtaining the values by experimentation was difficult. Ternary nanocomposites of reduced graphene oxide/multi-walled carbon nanotubes/cobalt oxide nanoparticles (rGO/MWCNT/Co3O4) were synthesized employing a facile hydrolysis method with subsequent heat treatment. The good electrical conductivity and remarkable carrier mobility of rGO and MWCNTs make them a suitable matrix for hybrid supercapacitors, and their composites with metal oxides exhibit enhanced electrochemical properties due to the advantages of the synergistic contribution and the integration of different dimensionalities. The binary counterparts of Co3O4 with GO or MWCNTs were also produced using the same technique to gain additional insight into the characteristics of the individual components. The structural and morphological properties of the composites were analyzed using various analytical techniques. The electrochemical behaviors of the prepared composites were investigated using cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge–discharge (GCD), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in 1 M H2SO4. A platinum electrode modified with the rGO/MWCNT/Co3O4 composite displayed a remarkable specific capacitance of 922 F g−1 at a current density of 1 A g−1 composite with a negligible capacitance drop after 2000 cycles. The symmetric supercapacitor fabricated using the rGO/MWCNT/Co3O4 composite showed an energy density of 32.2 Wh Kg−1 at 1 A g−1, and the corresponding power density was 2000 W Kg−1. Fiber-reinforced polymer composites (FRCs) from renewable and biodegradable fiber and sustainable polymer resins have gained substantial attention for their potential to mitigate environmental impacts. The limitations of these composites become evident when considered in the context of high-performance engineering applications, where synthetic fiber composites like glass or carbon FRCs typically dominate. A balance between the performance of the composite and biodegradability is imperative in the pursuit of what may be termed an environmentally conscious composite. This comprehensive review article provides some insight into the sustainability of FRCs, alongside detailing the sustainability considerations at various stages—materials, performance, applications, and end of life. The discussion also covers the different types of sustainable natural fibers and the types of polymer resins with some of the current achievements in the mechanical and functional properties of such composites, followed by a broad survey of their potential applications across diverse engineering applications. Carbon nanotube based polymer nanocomposites found versatile applications and hence studying its reinforcing effect on NR/NBR blend system is a promising step in developing flexible elastomer gadgets. In this study, attempts have been made to prepare multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-filled nanocomposites of NR/NBR blends. Raman spectra and transmission electron microscopic analysis indicate that there has been a finer and uniform dispersion of carbon nanotubes within the polymer matrix. Mechanical properties like tensile strength, tear resistance, abrasion loss and compression set of pure and blend samples showed an improvement with the increase in the dosage of MWCNT from 0.5 to 4 phr. 70/30 NR/NBR blend with 4 phr of MWCNT showed an improvement of 83% in tensile strength and 72% in tear strength compared to pure NBR. This is attributed to the uniform dispersion, high surface area, nano level interaction, and compatibility of MWCNT with the polymeric molecular chains. MWCNT is acting as a compatibilizing agent as is manifest from the increased negative values of free energy. Electrical conduction and thermal stability of the mixes were increased with the concentration of MWCNT due to the increase in the interfacial interaction resulting from the pi-pi interaction with the nanotubes. This study reveals the effect of hydrophilic bentonite nanoclay on the pervaporation separation of azeotropic composition of water and 1,4-dioxane. The permselectivity of the membrane increased with filler concentration and was selective toward water at minimum filler loading. The intrinsic properties such as membrane permeance and selectivity increased with the concentration of hydrophilic bentonite nanoclay and crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol) (PVA) with 2 wt% nanoclay membranes showed intrinsic selectivity 443 (532% increment than that of pristine membranes) with water permeance 4,675 gas permeation unit which is significantly higher compared to earlier literature. X-ray diffraction and Transmission electron microscopy showed the well exfoliated and distributed nanoclay structure in the crosslinked PVA matrix. Interaction of PVA with nanoclay and the hydrophilic character of the membranes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectra and contact angle analysis, respectively. Interestingly, in this work the membranes exhibited simultaneous increment in both permeation flux and selectivity with filler loading, rather than the usual inverse trend of flux and selectivity. A predictive model of pervaporation was used to explain the pervaporation behavior and it showed good agreement with experimental results for overall pervaporation performance, preferential sorption of water, and hydrophilic-hydrophobic nature of the membranes. Transport characteristics of chlorinated hydrocarbon through Nylon/NBR (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Rubber) blend has been investigated with special reference to the effect of blend ratio, compatibilizer and effect of dynamic crosslinking. An attempt has been made to correlate the diffusion characteristics with morphology of the blend. Fine and uniform distribution of the dispersed domains with a stable morphology were obtained by dynamic vulcanization. Depending on the composition, blends show dispersed/matrix and co-continuous phase morphologies. The various transport parameters such as diffusion coefficient (D), permeation coefficient (P) and sorption coefficients (S) were evaluated at different diffusion conditions such as temperature and percentage of compatibilizer. The equilibrium solvent uptake decreases with an increase in the concentration of NBR in the blends.
