The aim of this study was to investigate attitudes towards physical activity and their levels of life satisfaction of high school students. The sampling group of the study that was descriptive in scanning model was composed of 412 students, chosen by suitable sampling method, studying at high schools' levels in Artova district of Tokat province. "Personal Information Form", "Cognitive Behavioural Physical Activity Scale" and "Life Satisfaction Scale" were applied to the students. Descriptive statistics such as percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean and standard deviation, and Kolmogorov Smirnov test to examine the distribution of data were performed in the analysis of the data. And in order to test the hypothesises of the study parametric tests such as independent sample t-test and oneway anova were performed. In addition, Pearson Correlation test was performed to test the relationship between dependent variables such as students' attitude towards physical activity and life satisfaction level. According to the results of the analysis, independent variables such as gender, sports, place of life and class level bring about a significant difference on students' attitude towards physical activity and life satisfaction level. Moreover, the findings of the study show that there is a low level, positive and meaningful relationship between life satisfaction level and physical activity attitude. As a result of the study, it was found that the students' attitudes towards physical activity and their life satisfaction levels were affected by various variables and there was a meaningful relationship between these two dependent variables.

Individual time management skills and a business approach are two fundamental abilities required for success in any life. The goal of this study is to look at the connection between the individual time management skills and business attitudes of sports science students. The quantitative, descriptive study used structural equation modelling (SEM) as its methodology. Students from Tabriz city’s physical education and sports sciences departments helped collect the data. IBM® SPSS® AmosTM 23 was used to process the results of the study for model and hypothesis testing. This findings revealed a substantial relationship between individual time management abilities and business views of 126 students. Other research hypotheses examining the relationship between the business attitude and its constituent elements were similarly supported. According to the findings, prioritizing the notion of planning in personal and business life is one of the most effective time management approaches, and students should educate themselves concerning time management and business attitude.

Coaches are one of the leading people who have a role in athletes' success. Physical and physiological characteristics of many elite athletes are close to each other. The most important psychological factor as the distinguishing element bringing success is the coaches' behavioral approaches to their athletes. It is important to find out the behavioural styles of the coaches of athletes who are representing their countries in international organizations and who are showing top level performance in increasing their countries' success. In this sense, the purpose of this study is to analyze the coaching behaviour styles of the coaches of snowboard cross athletes representing their countries in the world cup. The study is a descriptive study in the model of survey. 3-item personal information form developed by the researcher and Coaching Behaviour Scale for Sport- CBS-S consisting of 7 factors and 47 items were used as data collection tool. The scale was given to 68 of 97 athletes competing for different countries in Snowboard Cross World Cup that was held in Erzurum/Turkey in January 2018. Percentage, frequency, mean and average values were used in the analysis of data. Various difference tests were used to find out the differences between variables. 24 female and 44 male athletes participated in the study. Average age of the athletes was found as 25,16±4,53. No significant difference was found in terms of the variables of age, gender and the continent athletes participated from and it was found that athletes assessed the positive behavioural styles of coaches in very high levels (6,98±1,21), while they assessed their negative coaching behaviours in very low levels (1,08±0,14). According to the results obtained, it is recommended for behavioural styles of coaches assessed within the context of similar researches to be applied to other sport branches.

The purpose of this study is to identify the attitude of students of sport high schools and those of other high schools towards physical activities and their levels of satisfaction with life and to examine whether there are differences between these two student groups. In the study, 3 different scales were used on 368 students in total, who were studying in Sivas province in 2017-2018 Educational Year, found by convenience sampling method. The first scale is "the Personal Information Form", which consists of 8 articles, for identifying the demographical characteristics of the participants; the second scale is "the Cognitive Behavioral Physical Activity Questionnaire (CBPA)", which was developed by Schembre et al., (2015) and was adapted to Turkish by the validity and reliability study done by Eskiler et al., (2016), for identifying the participants' attitudes towards physical activities. The third scale is "the Satisfaction with Life Scale", which was developed by Diener et. al (2002) and prepared as 5-statement 5-point likert type, for identifying the participants' levels of satisfaction with life. SPSS 25 package software was used in data analysis. The data were reflected as values of percentage, frequency, and average standard deviation. 180 sport high school students and 188 other high school students were participated in the study, when looked at the findings acquired. It was found that the attitude levels of sport high school students towards physical activities are higher than those of other high school students, and in parallel, it was seen that they have higher levels of satisfaction with life. As a result, it can be said that regular physical activity positively increases the individual's satisfaction with life. Thus, regular physical activity is recommended.

Objective: Among women, breast cancer (BC) is the most prevalent form of cancer. Many molecular targets have been discovered for BC prognosis and treatment. However, new markers still need to be identified, as cancer pathogenesis is triggered by different mechanisms. The aim of this study was to examine the changes in the paraoxonase genes (PON1, PON2, and PON 3) involved in the pathogenesis of BC. Materials and Methods: The characteristics of the mutations were evaluated with the Cbioportal database. Kaplan-Meier Plot evaluated recurrence-free survival (RFS). The UALCAN database determined the promoter methylation. Gene expression was evaluated by GEPIA2.0 database. Results: PON1 harbored the most mutations. There was a significant decrease in PON3 expression levels in BC samples compared with healthy samples. PON1 and PON2 expression levels did not differ between BC tissue and normal adjacent tissue. Elevated expression levels of PON1 and PON2 genes were correlated with longer RFS, whereas reduced expression of the PON2 gene showed an association with longer RFS. Moreover, the promoter regions of PON1 and PON 3 were found to be hypermethylated, while the promoter region of PON 2 was found to be hypomethylated. The PON3 promoter region was significantly hypermethylated in luminal and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) + BC subtypes. However, the PON3 promoter region was significantly hypomethylated in the triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) subtype. Conclusion: These results suggest that methylation and expression status of PON3 in BC and BC subtypes (TNBC, luminal and HER2) may indicate a poor prognosis. The PON3 gene could be a negative prognostic marker in BC. However, the results should be supported by prospective studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The relationship between damage to the liver and spleen by aging and the immune response status in these two organs, which are anatomically and immunologically interconnected, is unknown. The authors investigated the histopathological, ultrastructural, and immunological effects of aging in young and aged fibrotic mice by using an experimental model. Four groups were planned, with 10 mice in each experimental group. The levels of fibrosis and ultrastructural destruction in the liver were determined by α-SMA staining and TEM analysis. Expression levels of immunity genes (Il2, Il4, Il6, Il10, Il12, Il17, Tnf, Ifng, Tgfb1, Gata3, Rorc, Tbx21, Foxp3, Ccl2, Ccr2, Cxcr3, Pf4, Cxcl10) were carried out by qRT-PCR. While structural disorders were detected in the mitochondria of aged healthy group, cellular destruction in the fibrosis-induced elderly group was at a dramatic level. Fibrosis induction in aged mice caused an elevation in the expression of chemokines (CCl2, CXCL10, CCR2) and cytokine (IL-17a) genes that induce autoinflammatory response in the liver. Unlike the cellular pathology and genes activated in fibrosis in youth and the natural occurrence of fibrosis with aging, induction of fibrosis during aging causes deterioration in the liver and expression of genes responsible for autoimmunity in both the liver and spleen. Objectives: The primary aim of this article is to share the outcomes of the project titled "Historical Development of Psychiatric Nursing in Türkiye: A Documentary Film Project", executed between 2018 and 2021, and the experiences encountered throughout its duration. Methods: The significance of understanding the historical development of a profession immensely benefits its members and the profession as a whole. Prevailing knowledge about nursing primarily revolves around events tailored for educational entities aimed at achieving professional recognition. Recognizing the necessity, this project sought to capture firsthand accounts detailing the evolution of psychiatric nursing in Türkiye. For this project, the progression of psychiatric nursing was detailed through participants' experiences. The participants were chosen using the purpose sampling method, culminating in a cohort of 25 academic psychiatric nurses. Data collection methods included face-to-face interviews and online video recordings. Results: The obtained recordings were meticulously analyzed by the research team and subsequently utilized in various mediums, including a documentary film, a booklet, an article, and presentations. These products provide viewers and readers with a direct glimpse into the foundational values, philosophies, principles, and practices introduced by the trailblazers of psychiatric nursing in Türkiye. Conclusion: It is emphasized that similar research endeavors be undertaken across different nursing domains. Adults with end-stage of chronic liver diseases have lower antibody titers after hepatitis-B vaccination. We have less amount of knowledge about the effect of non-viral cause chronic liver fibrosis on vaccination. In this study, we investigated the effect of non-viral chronic liver fibrosis on hepatitis B vaccine and the effect of tetanous toxoid co-administration at the level of humoral and cellular immune responses in an experimental model. Hepatitis B vaccine was administered either alone or in combination with tetanus toxoid in thioacetamide-induced fibrotic BALB/c mice. Fibrosis level was determined by Knodell scoring. Anti-HBsAg, biochemical parameters, inflammatory (IL-1β, TNF-α), and anti-inflammatory (IL-10) cytokine levels were investigated in serum samples by automated systems and ELISA; respectively. Frequencies of activated lymphocytes were determined in flow cytometer. Antibody titers significantly decreased after immunization of fibrotic mice. However, co-administration of toxoid significantly elevated antibody titer. The percentage of CD19+CD69+ B lymphocytes was found to be lower in vaccinated fibrotic group compared to vaccinated naive group. Simultaneous administration of toxoid significantly increased the frequencies of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells expressing CD69 and CD127. Interestingly, CD19+CD5+CD1high Breg cells were significantly reduced in the group vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine and toxoid, simultaneously. The reduction in Breg percentage did not expose a significant decrease in the level of IL-10. Non-viral chronic liver fibrosis causes a reduction on specific antibody level after vaccination. Reduction on Breg cell frequency may have an effect on elevation of antibody level after co-administration of tetanus toxoid. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

X-ray crystallography is a robust and powerful structural biology technique that provides high-resolution atomic structures of biomacromolecules. Scientists use this technique to unravel mechanistic and structural details of biological macromolecules (e.g., proteins, nucleic acids, protein complexes, protein-nucleic acid complexes, or large biological compartments). Since its inception, single-crystal cryocrystallography has never been performed in Türkiye due to the lack of a single-crystal X-ray diffractometer. The X-ray diffraction facility recently established at the University of Health Sciences, İstanbul, Türkiye will enable Turkish and international researchers to easily perform high-resolution structural analysis of biomacromolecules from single crystals. Here, we describe the technical and practical outlook of a state-of-the-art home-source X-ray, using lysozyme as a model protein. The methods and practice described in this article can be applied to any biological sample for structural studies.
