Postmodernism emerged as a movement that opposed the dominant views of modernism in the field of art. Postmodernism, which originated in architecture and gradually influenced many areas of art, is discussed in this study with a focus on painting and visual arts education. In high school programs in Turkey, it is important for students to be able to examine the past, embrace the present, the era, and the postmodern way of thinking. When the relevant literature was reviewed, it was determined that there is no research on how postmodernism is used in art education in terms of student learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to determine how high school visual arts teachers incorporate the postmodernism movement into their teaching and to identify any changes in students' interest levels in the course. In this study, a qualitative research method was used, specifically the case study design. The sample of the study consisted of four visual arts teachers who work in one central and three district schools in Yalova province. Two semi-structured interview forms and document analysis were used as data collection tools. The findings were analyzed using thematic analysis. According to the research findings, it was determined that the participating teachers conveyed the artistic and intellectual structure of postmodernism to students through various teaching methods during the lesson process. However, they were unable to achieve all the learning outcomes related to postmodernism. The study also revealed that students demonstrated changes in the methods they preferred to employ in their artwork after learning about postmodernism and being exposed to examples of postmodern art. Moreover, students provided both positive and negative critiques, reflecting their aesthetic perspectives on postmodern artworks. This research is considered important in terms of serving as an example for teachers and contributing to the literature.

This article aims to understand the place of the tempera technique in art history, which is thought to be encountered for the first time by art education undergraduate students, and to determine the effects on the participants after the application. The study consists of the findings and results of the first and second research questions in the master thesis "Tempera technique and its use in the course of painting courses on undergraduate level." In this study the "case study" pattern was used, and is one of the qualitative research approaches. The participants of the research are eight students studying in Bursa Uludag University, Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education in the 2018-2019 academic year. The data collection tools of literature review and two interview forms interview were used. The findings obtained were evaluated by thematic analysis technique. According to the findings obtained in the research, it was observed that the participants did not have prior knowledge about the tempera technique before oral presentation and application. It was concluded that there were differences in the levels of interest and knowledge after the teaching process, and that there were positive changes in their opinions regarding the technique.

Individuals' levels of access to contemporary education affect the development level of the societies they live in. Changes and developments in the field of education are important in this sense. Technological advancements experienced in the general field of education have also affected visual arts education, and different points of view have emerged in this field. In this study, it is aimed to determine the interaction of art education in parallel to the dynamism of the age with technology according to the opinions of visual arts course teachers. For this purpose, the study uses the qualitative research method of case study. The participants of the study consist of a total of 8 visual arts teachers including 5 female and 3 teachers actively working at secondary schools in the academic year of 2019-2020. Observation and semi-structured interview forms are used in the data collection process. By analyzing the obtained findings with the thematic analysis method, the findings are collected under the themes of reflections and usage methods. In line with the results of the study obtained from the data, positive and negative results of using technology as a material in art education are reached. As in all areas of education, the use of technology in the visual arts course is important for its positive effects such as providing ease of learning for the student. While the study has been completed before the COVID-19 pandemic period, the compulsory nature of technology use today has increased the significance of the study.

This study aims to identify students' approaches toward courses lectured by visual arts teachers with elements of popular culture with a view to enabling students to attain 7th grade targeted achievements. To this end, the multiple-case design, one of the qualitative research methods, was utilized in the study. The sample of the study comprised 11 visual arts teachers working at secondary schools located in three central districts of the Bursa province of Turkey. As the data collection tools, two interview forms and document review were used. The obtained findings were evaluated through the thematic analysis technique and were compiled under the theme of 'implications on students'. As per the research results, it was discerned that there were certain differences in the students' approaches toward the course along with employment of elements of popular culture in the visual arts course. It may be alleged that, of these differences, the primary ones were attraction of students' attention to the course, active participation into the course and facilitation of comprehension.

Setting as the targeting the education of individuals in terms of intellectual, perceptual and emotional aspects as a whole places the visual arts education, which is one of the fields of education, at an important position. That is due to the fact that the individual who has aesthetical perception development through fine arts education learns how to perceive new forms and to view his/her environment and artistic structures from a different perspective. Thus, the individual makes progress in his/her intellectual endeavors, and also enhances his/her creativity and builds social habits in this connection. This importance attached to visual arts education demonstrates the necessity of raising qualified visual arts teachers. The fact that teaching is a profession which is perfected through the establishment of the link between theory and practice makes worth analyzing the process of teaching practice and attitudes and guiding behaviors of practitioner teacher who is placed at the closest position to the prospective teacher in this process. In this research, the focus was placed on attitudes which practitioner teachers were supposed to demonstrate in observation processes which played a crucial role in occupational development of prospective teachers during teaching practice. These attitudes were addressed in the framework of guiding behaviors which were supposed to be beneficial to prospective teachers in observation processes.

Visual arts education is a process that helps the reflection of inner worlds, socialization via group works and healthier motor skills development of normally developing or handicapped children like the mentally retarded. This study aims to determine the influence of visual art studies on the motor skills development of primary school first grade level trainable mentally retarded children and the difficulties faced related to this process. The target population of this study consists of special education teachers working for private special education institutions and the sample of this study consists of eighty-five special education teachers working for fifteen special education institutions within the province of Bursa. In this screening survey model study, questionnaires have been used as a data collection technique. The results have been interpreted by analyzing in table forms. According to the findings obtained in the research, most of the participating teachers think that visual art education plays an important role in the development of mentally retarded children and visual arts classes are beneficial to developing motor skills and improves hand-eye coordination. However, it has been determined that some applications, which were included in the visual arts education curriculum, have not been practised. In accordance with the findings obtained in the research, it has been suggested that the applications containing fine motor skills development movements should take place more in art education programs, and that special education institutions should have an art educator and art studios in order to improve motor skills level of mentally handicapped children.

Postmodernism has evolved in the field of art, and its presence and definition have been the topic of several studies. The overall perspectives of the visual arts teachers on postmodernism are important for incorporating postmodernism issues into the high school curriculum in Turkey, as they are teaching art history and conveying the practice of visual arts. A review of the literature reveals that there are no comparable studies that take visual arts teachers' perspectives on postmodernism into account. Therefore, this study aims to discover the perspectives of visual arts teachers on postmodernism. This article presents the findings and conclusions of the first research question of the Master's thesis, titled "examination of the reflections of postmodernism on art education". The study used a case study design, one of the qualitative research approaches. The sample of the study consisted of four visual arts teachers working in one of the central and three district schools in Yalova, Turkey. In the current research, two semi-structured interview forms and document analysis were utilized as data collection tools. The qualitative data were analyzed by the thematic analysis method. The themes of "teachers' general perceptions", "teaching process" and "reflection on students" were identified through the thematic analysis. This article includes a detailed analysis of the theme of "teachers' general perceptions". The results of the research identified the artistic and intellectual perspectives of the participating teachers toward postmodernism as outstanding features. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Street games are games that children play in the gardens and on the streets; in short, outdoors. These street games are group games played with at least two people. Some of them have universal characters. Many of these games come from centuries ago. Some of them were transformed based on the conditions of the present century and these games are played with new rules as a result. "Street games festival" is an application and research project, which is prepared to bring back the memories of the street games that stood in place of today's computer games. This project aims to search forgotten old street games which changed with rapidly evolving technology and to ensure the maintenance of these games after bringing them back to the agenda. Thus, the social interactions between the children will be improved. In the process of facilitating voluntary art education in the Bursa Metropolitan municipality, the idea of the "Street games festival" project was emerged. It was decided to prepare the first stand about toy construction in the 7th street games festival. The "toy construction stand" was added to the project which took place on June 3, 2013. In this stand, children designed and created their own toys. The materials which these children used while creating their toys were supported by the project management committee. Children took away their creations if they wished to. In this study, both "Street games festival" project's presentation and especially, the children which came to toy construction stand were observed.
