The purpose of the research is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the new spring barley variety ‘in Memory of Dudin’ on economically valuable signs. Studies were carried out in 2016-2019. The spring barley variety “in Memory of Dudin’ was created by the method of directional individual selection from the variant with treatment of spring barley variety ‘Bios 1’ with laser red light (wavelength 632.8 nm, continuous irradiation mode, beam power density 0.3 mW/cm2) for 60 minutes, followed by soaking in a solution of sodium carbonate with a concentration of 0,1n for 12 hours. Ear of the plant has average length 8.9 cm, the number of spikelets and the grain in the ear are medium (25.6 pcs. and 24.3 pcs. respectively). The 1000-grain weight is high - 49.2 g. Culm has an average length of 72.4 cm. The average yield over the years of the study was 4.6 tons/ha, the maximum one - 7.02 tons/ha in 2019. Dry matter ash content 2.2%, fiber content 3.65%, starch content 52.61%, fat content 1.65%, protein content 10.19%; extractability 77.0%. The variety ripens 4-7 days earlier than the standard. Based on a comprehensive assessment, the spring barley variety of “in Memory of Dudin’ was transferred to the State Variety Test in 2020.

In this research, the one-dimensional fluid code SIGLO-rf was used to study the internal parameters of RF capacitive discharge in carbon dioxide, focusing mainly on time-averaged and spatio-temporal distributions of discharge parameters. With the help of this code, in the range of distances between electrodes d = 0.04 – 8 cm, RF frequencies f = 3.89 – 67.8 MHz, and values of carbon dioxide pressure p = 0.1 – 9.9 Torr, averaged over the RF period axial profiles of the density of electrons, positive and negative ions were calculated as well as potential and electric field strength. It is shown that the discharge plasma in CO2 contains electrons, positive ions, as well as negative ions. The negative ions of atomic oxygen are formed by the dissociative attachment of electrons to CO2 molecules. Studies of the spatio-temporal dynamics of plasma parameters (electron density, potential and electric field strength, as well as ionization and attachment rates) in RF capacitive discharge in CO2 showed that during half of the RF period, 1 to 3 ionization bursts are usually observed. They correspond to stochastic heating in the near-electrode sheath and the formation of passive and active double layers near the sheath boundaries. The passive double layer appears in the cathode phase and maintains the discharge plasma. The active layer is formed in the anodic phase and ensures a balance of positive and negative charges escaping to the electrode during the RF period. It was found that when the conditions pd = 2 Torr cm and fd = 27.12 MHz cm are met simultaneously, during half of the RF period, 4 intense ionization peaks are observed: resulting from stochastic heating, passive, active, and additional (auxiliary) double layers. The auxiliary double layer helps bring electrons to the surface of the temporary anode and occurs near its surface inside the near-electrode sheath. Using the similarity law, the conditions for the existence of these 4 ionization peaks in a wide range of RF frequencies, carbon dioxide pressures, and distances between electrodes were verified.

A one-dimensional homogeneous reactor model was developed to simulate the dynamic behavior of a fixed-bed reactor for a catalytic coupling reactor of carbon monoxide and ethyl nitrite to diethyl oxalate. Reactor modeling was performed using a comprehensive numerical model that was simulated using Simulink. The power law kinetic model was applied for simulating the catalytic coupling reaction considering the main and side reactions. The heat of reaction was calculated with respect to the reacted moles of ethyl nitrite for each reaction. When the simulated model reached a steady state, the predicted results were in agreement with the actual data that was collected from an already established pilot plant fixed bed reactor. The startup dynamic behavior of hypothetical industrial-scale production of diethyl oxalate at 78,000 tons per year was simulated. The system reached steady-state within 14–16 min at a space velocity of 1400 h−1.

Abstract Access to clean water, hygiene, and sanitation is becoming an increasingly pressing global demand, particularly owing to rapid population growth and urbanization. Phytoremediation utilizes a highly conserved phytochelatin in plants, which captures hazardous heavy metal ions from aquatic environments and sequesters them in vacuoles. Herein, we report the design of phytochelatin-inspired copolymers containing carboxylate and thiolate moieties. Titration calorimetry results indicate that the coexistence of both moieties is essential for the excellent Cd2+ ion-capturing capacity of the copolymers. The obtained dissociation constant, K D ~ 1 nM for Cd2+ ion, is four-to-five orders of magnitude higher than that for peptides mimicking the sequence of endogenous phytochelatin. Furthermore, infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy results unravel the mechanism underlying complex formation at the molecular level. The grafting of 0.1 g bio-inspired copolymers onto silica microparticles and cellulose membranes helps concentrate the copolymer-coated microparticles in ≈3 mL volume to remove Cd2+ ions from 0.3 L of water within 1 h to the drinking water level (

A queueing system with the discipline of flexible limited sharing of the server is considered. This discipline assumes the admission, for a simultaneous service, of only a finite number of orders, as well as the use of a reduced service rate when the bandwidth required by the admitted orders is less than the total bandwidth of the server. The orders arrive following a batch-marked Markov arrival process, which is a generalization of the well-known $ MAP $ (Markov arrival process) to the cases of heterogeneous orders and batch arrivals. The orders of different types have different preemptive priorities. The possibility of an increase or a decrease in order priority during the service is suggested to be an effective mechanism to prevent long processing orders from being pushed out of service by just-arrived higher-priority orders. Under a fixed priority scheme and a mechanism of dynamic change of the priorities, the stationary analysis of this queueing system is implemented by considering a suitable multidimensional continuous-time Markov chain with a generator that has an upper Hessenberg structure. The possibility of the optimal restriction on the number of simultaneously serviced orders is numerically demonstrated.

This paper presents the geochemical characteristics of the metabasalts of Dudin Krš, near Kosovska Mitrovica. The Dudin Krš is the easternmost occurrence of Middle Triassic rift-related volcanic rocks in the Dinarides. Generally, these rocks show similarities to other Triassic volcanic rocks of the Dinarides. They are high-magnesian, ol and ne-normative basalts, with low Zr/Nb and medium/low Ti/Zr and Ti/Y ratios. They exhibit transitional geochemical characteristics, between E-MORB and subalkaline basalts of continental rift zones. Their presence and geochemical affinity is evidence of rifting processes along the continental slope of the Adria block during Middle Triassic.

Abstract Twisted bilayer graphene (tBLG) provides a fascinating platform for engineering flat bands and inducing correlated phenomena. By designing the stacking architecture of graphene layers, twisted multilayer graphene can exhibit different symmetries with rich tunability. For example, in twisted monolayer-bilayer graphene (tMBG) which breaks the C 2z symmetry, transport measurements reveal an asymmetric phase diagram under an out-of-plane electric field, exhibiting correlated insulating state and ferromagnetic state respectively when reversing the field direction. Revealing how the electronic structure evolves with electric field is critical for providing a better understanding of such asymmetric field-tunable properties. Here we report the experimental observation of field-tunable dichotomic electronic structure of tMBG by nanospot angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (NanoARPES) with operando gating. Interestingly, selective enhancement of the relative spectral weight contributions from monolayer and bilayer graphene is observed when switching the polarity of the bias voltage. Combining experimental results with theoretical calculations, the origin of such field-tunable electronic structure, resembling either tBLG or twisted double-bilayer graphene (tDBG), is attributed to the selectively enhanced contribution from different stacking graphene layers with a strong electron-hole asymmetry. Our work provides electronic structure insights for understanding the rich field-tunable physics of tMBG.

The article discusses the development of the regional integrated transport and logistics infrastructure (TLI) in the context of its digital transformation. It is shown that the main problem of this development is the lack of a comprehensive strategy. It has been proven that effective management of transport and logistics supply chains is possible only with the implementation of digital reform of TLI, with the construction of digital platforms that allow the formation of a new type of TLI with its own digital appearance. The basis for the digital transformation of TLI is the development of a digital ecosystem model based on industry transport standards, the outline of which is determined by the participants in the transport and logistics service system operating in the same territory. In this regard, the work presents a scheme of transport and logistics services for the region, highlighting the composition of its participants. A feature of the formation of the presented digital ecosystem model is the modular architecture of its construction, based on the levels of cross-industry interaction between participants in transport and logistics services. A logical sequence for the formation of a digital ecosystem of regional TLI is proposed, which is based on a platform approach that brings a change in the logic of technological and functional transportation processes in transport. The process of forming an ecosystem consists of building a number of modules depending on the level of interaction of participants under consideration. At the TLI enterprise level, a digital model is built consisting of a data factory and digital infrastructure. At the level of interaction between transport industry enterprises, a unified digital platform of the transport complex is being built. At the level of cross-industry interaction between transport and its users, a unified digital transport and production platform is being built in a single digital environment. Finally, at the level of interaction between all participants in transport and logistics services in the region, a digital ecosystem is being built based on digital information resources provided by government resources. The ecosystem is presented as an information system that unites all participants in transport and logistics services through the introduction of digital information resources into transport processes in a single information space. Recommendations are presented for further areas of research into the theory and methodology of digital transformation of TLI in the context of its interaction and transport cooperation with geopolitical partners and, on this basis, the formation of a cyber meta-ecosystem in the interstate information space.

The operation of many queueing systems is adequately described by the structured multidimensional continuous-time Markov chains. The most well-studied classes of such chains are level-independent Quasi-Birth-and-Death processes, GI/M/1 type and M/G/1 type Markov chains, generators of which have the block tri-diagonal, lower- and upper-Hessenberg structure, respectively. All these classes assume that the matrices of transition rates are quasi-Toeplitz. This property greatly simplifies their analysis but makes them inappropriate for the study of many important systems, e.g., retrial queues with a retrial rate depending on the number of customers in orbit, queues with impatient customers, etc. The importance of such systems attracts significant interest to their analysis. However, in the literature, there is a methodological gap relating to the ergodicity condition of the corresponding Markov chains. To fulfill this gap and facilitate the analysis of a wide range of such systems, we show that under non-restrictive assumptions, the following hold true: (i) if the customers can balk or are impatient or non-persistent, then the Markov chain describing the behavior of the system belongs to the class of asymptotically quasi-Toeplitz Markov chains; (ii) this chain is ergodic; (iii) known algorithms can be applied for the calculation of the stationary distribution of the corresponding queueing system.

The paper focuses on revealing bilingual education features serving the purposes of harmonizing the multi-faith business schools and universities environment, using Russian and international experience. The empirical study was carried out using questionnaire method, polling, and method of involved observation. Russian business schools in 2017, 2018 and 2019, with a total number of 404 students, including 202 students in academic programs implementing bilingual education model in Russian and English, as well as the same number of students in classical monolingual programs in Russian (control banding), formed the empirical base of the study. It was revealed that bilingual education is a complex socio-pedagogical phenomenon and a promising educational model, which focuses not only on shaping and building a wide range of students' capabilities but also on the unique socio-cultural educational environment functioning aimed at the solution of such problems as: harmonization of students' interests to overcome intercultural differences; expanded socialization and facilitation of productive activities in terms of intercultural, interfaith education. It was also determined and confirmed empirically that the overall orientation of the bilingual educational model, which forms a productive cross-cultural communication environment, influences the potentially successful overcoming of interfaith differences and harmonization of interests of representatives of different confessions, as well as religious and atheistic practices. Thus, the use of a single neutral language code, free from religious-oriented vocabulary, reduces the tension in communication perception of educational activity subjects, reducing the risk of contradictions and conflicts of inter-confessional character, thus, harmonizing the interests of participants multi-religious educational environment. The results obtained confirm the hypothesis that the use of bilingual education in Russian and English in modern Russian conditions can be considered as a potentially highly effective platform for harmonizing the interests of a multi-faith environment in business schools and universities.

Digital pathology (DP) has become a part of the cancer healthcare system, creating additional value for cancer patients. DP implementation in clinical practice provides plenty of benefits but also harbors hidden ethical challenges affecting physician-patient relationships. This paper addresses the ethical obligation to transform the physician-patient relationship for informed and responsible decision-making when using artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools for cancer diagnostics. DP application allows to improve the performance of the Human-AI Team shifting focus from AI challenges towards the Augmented Human Intelligence (AHI) benefits. AHI enhances analytical sensitivity and empowers pathologists to deliver accurate diagnoses and assess predictive biomarkers for further personalized treatment of cancer patients. At the same time, patients’ right to know about using AI tools, their accuracy, strengths and limitations, measures for privacy protection, acceptance of privacy concerns and legal protection defines the duty of physicians to provide the relevant information about AHI-based solutions to patients and the community for building transparency, understanding and trust, respecting patients' autonomy and empowering informed decision-making in oncology.

The effect of plasma activation of reactive gas on the process of reactive magnetron synthesis of oxide coatings was theoretically and experimentally investigated using a radio-frequency inductively coupled plasma source, which creates a flow of activated reactive gas directed towards the surface on which the oxide coating is deposited. The reactive gas passes through a dense inductively coupled plasma located inside the plasma source, while argon is supplied through a separate channel near the magnetron. A theoretical model has been built allowing the calculation of spatial distributions of fluxes of metal atoms and molecules of activated reaction gas, as well as the stoichiometry area of the synthesized coatings. Calculations were performed on the example of aluminum oxide. It was found that the plasma activation of the reactive gas allows to increase the sticking coefficient of oxygen to the surface of the growing coating from values less than 0.1 for non-activated molecular oxygen to 0.9 when 500 W of RF power is introduced into the inductive discharge. In order to verify the developed model, experiments were conducted on depositing an aluminum oxide film on glass substrates located at different distances from the magnetron target, followed by measuring the distribution of film transparency along the substrate length and comparing it with the calculated distribution. A comparison of the calculation results with the experimental data shows a good agreement in the entire studied range of parameters. Based on the generalization of the obtained results, an empirical rule was formulated that the power ratio of the magnetron discharge and the plasma activator should be approximately 8:1.

In this paper, we consider a tandem dual queuing system consisting of multi-server stages. Stage 1 is characterized by an infinite buffer, one-by-one service of customers, and an exponential distribution of service times. Stage 2 is characterized by a finite buffer and a phase-type distribution of service times. Service at Stage 2 is provided to groups of customers. The service time of a group depends on the size of the group. The size is restricted by two thresholds. The waiting time of a customer at each stage is limited by a random variable with an exponential distribution, with the parameter depending on the stage. After service at Stage 1, a customer can depart from the system or try to enter Stage 2. If the buffer at this stage is full, the customer is either lost or returns for service at Stage 1. Customer arrivals are described by the versatile Markov arrival process. The system is studied via consideration of a multi-dimensional continuous-time Markov chain. Numerical examples, which highlight the influence of the thresholds on the system performance measures, are presented. The possibility of solving optimization problems is illustrated.

The article examines the trends in the development of higher education in Russia (in general, and in particular -- higher management education). Based on the data obtained, it was concluded that the Russian system of higher education (including higher management or business education) does not have adequate competitiveness in the global market. To increase the competitiveness of Russian higher business education, it was proposed to use the Triple Crown international accreditation system (within this system, accreditation is implemented in three formats: AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB, described in this article).

Introduction. The territorial organization of Inner Asian polities underwent significant transformations in the first quarter of the 20th century, which resulted in a need for its visualization. Goals. The article attempts to reconstruct the system of key public governance institutions in Mongol-inhabited lands of China in the mentioned period, and to describe tools of their visualization supposed to spot the former across present-day geographical points of the region. So, the study aims to examine some basic institutions of princely power and khoshun administration, religious and aimag/league-level authorities, impacts of the Chinese colonization on Mongol-inhabited territories, investigate sources, tools and methods instrumental in spatial localization and visualization of territorial /governance structures across the lands. Materials and methods. The work focuses on two groups of sources, namely: unpublished materials from P. Dudin’s doctoral thesis (manuscript) (Statehood of Inner Mongolia: Late 19th to Mid-20th Centuries) discussing public governance structures of Mongolian banners (counties); and unique maps of 1914/1925 mentioning khoshuns, aimags and leagues of almost all Mongol-inhabited domains. The research methodology rests on an interdisciplinary approach, methods of historical science to comprise the ideographic (descriptive-narrative) and retrospective ones, a narrative approach, and principles of historicism; knowledge of political science yields an opportunity to employ functional and behavioral approaches. The geographical methods involved rest on the scheme of analysis proposed in works of O. Medushevskaya (1957) and L. Goldenberg (1958), as well as on some analysis of the data generalization degree. Results. The work has reconstructed the early 20th-century system of key Mongolian public governance institutions, outlines how the system of princely power functioned, how khoshun-level administrative bodies took shape and worked, identifies the governance role of religious institutions, while insights into different levels of the administrative/territorial organization facilitates further understanding as to actual scopes of power attributed thereto, and makes it possible to visualize the investigated space with the aid of contemporary tools and techniques. Conclusions. The paper points to the efficiency of the then management system where it was the khoshun that had served — and remained — a key structural element. The latter’s detailed illustrations on V. Surin’s maps make it possible to restore the ancient territorial organization of Mongolia using the GIS system, free access be provided for researchers of the region.

В огляді проаналізовано сучасний стан розвитку та впровадження цифрової патології у патологоанатомічну практику з метою діагностики, консультування та персоналізації лікування меланоми. Конвергенція цифрової патології та штучного інтелекту призвела до зміни парадигм у патолоанатомічній практиці. Завдяки цифровій патології, патологоанатоми мають можливість покращити точність, ефективність і узгодженість діагностики меланоми. Доступ до цифрових слайдів полегшує дистанційну первинну діагностичну роботу. Надання телеконсультацій, підвищує ефективність і збалансованість робочого навантаження, покращує співпрацю між загальними патологами та дерма-топатологами, стимулює віртуальну освіту та інноваційні дослідження. Виявлення субвізуальних морфометричних особливостей та інтеграція даних мультиоміки являються передумовами покращення прогностичної та предиктив-ної інформації для персоналізації лікування пацієнтів із меланомою, що відкриває нові перспективи прецизійної медицини. Однак впровадження цифрової патології в алгоритми діагностики та персоналізованого лікування потребує вирішення низки важливих проблем, пов'язаних із клінічною валідацією цифрових інструментів.

We consider a multi-server queueing system with a visible queue and an arrival flow that is dynamically dependent on the system’s rating. This rating reflects the level of customer satisfaction with the quality and price of the provided service. A higher rating implies a higher arrival rate, which motivates the service provider to increase the price of the service. A steady-state analysis of this system using the proposed mechanism for changing the rating and a threshold strategy for changing the price is performed. This is carried out via the consideration of a suitably constructed multidimensional Markov chain. The impact of the variation in the threshold defining the strategy for changing the price on the key performance indicators is numerically illustrated. The results can be used to make managerial decisions, leading to an increase in the effectiveness of system operations.

The article examines current trends in the development of the national models of higher education in Russia and European countries. The paper reveals the key problems of their functioning in the context of the processes of globalization, standardization, and integration into the pan-European and global educational space. These processes are described through the prism of the national interests of the states. Emerging from the comparative description, content presentation and qualitative analysis, the article assesses the level of development of the national models of higher education, i.e., Russian, European and American. This allowed identifying key similarities, as well as the most important differences, which mainly stem from the difference in the state regulation of national educational systems. It is the role of the state that is leading in the formation of national educational systems and the creation of high-quality models of higher education. The state is also responsible for the transformation and adaptation of these models. The models target providing the national and world labor market with highly professional human resources. Based on the comparative aspects outlined in the article, as well as on the qualitative analysis data, the authors have come to the following main conclusions regarding the trends and prospects for the development of the Russian higher education sector: a) Firstly, the Russian model of higher education was built during an accelerated transition from a one-level to a multilevel education. The result of this shift is the labor market disbalance, which nowadays does not allow the formation of the adequate perception of specialists holding a "bachelor's degree" which is unfamiliar and obscure to many employers; b) Secondly, the Russian educational system, and the higher education model, replicate the Western European and American approaches without considering the realities of the national educational market and the labor market. Therefore, the high proportion of the population with higher education cannot provide the necessary socio-economic development potential of the country; c) Thirdly, the reform of the Russian model of higher education should continue but not in terms of accelerating the processes of its integration into the world educational system. There is much evidence that the correct direction lies within the domain of creating incentives and conditions that will ensure the training of highly skilled professionals correlating with the market demand.

The pandemic forced student learning to change, study at home, many new problems were encountered, one of which was a decrease in student activity and creativity. On the other hand, education in the 21st century must be able to facilitate students who are active and creative, adapting to changes in all situations. The aim of this study is to describe the integration of Project Based Learning based on science, technology, eigeneering and mathematics and its success in increasing creative active students. The method used qualitative case study comes from secondary and primary data, observation, documentation, interviews, and triangulation. The results of the study show that the integration of learning goes through the following stages: Pre-Learning Stage, teachers of several subjects collaboratively prepare various tools relevant to the theme; In the implementation phase, students are given the responsibility of completing a project in several weeks. The first week classifies project assignments, divides into groups, provides material, understands worksheets, listens to video links. Worksheet filling, and procurement of materials. The second week is product creation, the third week is completing work sheets, editing videos, making power points, and sending the results to the link. The fourth week is product improvement, the fifth week is the trial, and the sixth week is the work title; In the post-learning stage, evaluation is carried out, and follow-up, reports, dissemination of subject collaboration teams. Its success has increased students' enthusiastic learning attitudes, student creativity, learning enjoyment, competency improvement, and student project products.
