International audience; We describe the MAPA project, funded under the Connecting Europe Facility programme, whose goal is the development of an open-source de-identification toolkit for all official European Union languages. It will be developed since January 2020 until December 2021.

Mammalian SWI/SNF (SWitch/Sucrose Non-Fermentable) complexes are ATP-dependent chromatin remodelers whose subunits have emerged among the most frequently mutated genes in cancer. Studying SWI/SNF function in cancer cell line models has unveiled vulnerabilities in SWI/SNF-mutant tumors that can lead to the discovery of new therapeutic drugs. However, choosing an appropriate cancer cell line model for SWI/SNF functional studies can be challenging because SWI/SNF subunits are frequently altered in cancer by various mechanisms, including genetic alterations and post-transcriptional mechanisms. In this work, we combined genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic approaches to study the mutational status and the expression levels of the SWI/SNF subunits in a panel of 38 lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) cell lines. We found that the SWI/SNF complex was mutated in more than 76% of our LUAD cell lines and there was a high variability in the expression of the different SWI/SNF subunits. These results underline the importance of the SWI/SNF complex as a tumor suppressor in LUAD and the difficulties in defining altered and unaltered cell models for the SWI/SNF complex. These findings will assist researchers in choosing the most suitable cellular models for their studies of SWI/SNF to bring all of its potential to the development of novel therapeutic applications.

A key point in Sentiment Analysis is to determine the polarity of the sentiment implied by a certain word or expression. In basic Sentiment Analysis systems this sentiment polarity of the words is accounted and weighted in different ways to provide a degree of positivity/negativity. Currently words are also modelled as continuous dense vectors, known as word embeddings, which seem to encode interesting semantic knowledge. With regard to Sentiment Analysis, word embeddings are used as features to more complex supervised classification systems to obtain sentiment classifiers. In this paper we compare a set of existing sentiment lexicons and sentiment lexicon generation techniques. We also show a simple but effective technique to calculate a word polarity value for each word in a domain using existing continuous word embeddings generation methods. Further, we also show that word embeddings calculated on in-domain corpus capture the polarity better than the ones calculated on general-domain corpus. Background: The International Peripheral T-cell Lymphoma Project was organized to better understand the T-cell and natural killer (NK) cell lymphomas, and our task is to present the clinicopathologic correlations and therapeutic results for adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL). Patients and methods: Among 1153 patients with T-cell or NK cell lymphomas, 126 patients (9.6%) with ATL were represented in this project. All were categorized as aggressive ATL, i.e. acute or lymphoma type, and 87% fell into the lymphoma type. Results: The median age was 62 years and the male to female ratio was 1.2 : 1. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a heterogeneous class of non-coding RNAs whose biological roles are still poorly understood. LncRNAs serve as gene expression regulators, frequently interacting with epigenetic factors to shape the outcomes of crucial biological processes, and playing roles in di erent pathologies including cancer. Over the last years, growing scientific evidence supports the key role of some lncRNAs in tumor development and proposes them as valuable biomarkers for the clinic. In this study, we aimed to characterize lncRNAs whose expression is altered in tumor samples from patients with lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) compared to adjacent normal tissue samples. On an RT-qPCR survey of 90 cancer-related lncRNAs, we found one lncRNA, DLG2-AS1, which was consistently downregulated in 70 LUAD patients. To gain insight into its biological function, DLG2-AS1 was cloned and successfully re-expressed in LUAD cancer cell lines. We determined that DLG2-AS1 is not a cis-regulatory element of its overlapping gene DLG2, as their transcription levels were not correlated, nor did DLG2-AS1 restoration modify the expression of DLG2 protein. Journal Article; Review; There has been a high local recurrence rate in rectal cancer. Besides improvements in surgical techniques, both neoadjuvant short-course radiotherapy and long-course chemoradiation improve oncological results. Approximately 40-60% of rectal cancer patients treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiation achieve some degree of pathologic response. However, there is no effective method of predicting which patients will respond to neoadjuvant treatment. Recent studies have evaluated the potential of genetic biomarkers to predict outcome in locally advanced rectal adenocarcinoma treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiation. The articles produced by the PubMed search were reviewed for those specifically addressing a genetic profile's ability to predict response to neoadjuvant treatment in rectal cancer. Although tissue gene microarray profiling has led to promising data in cancer, to date, none of the identified signatures or molecular markers in locally advanced rectal cancer has been successfully validated as a diagnostic or prognostic tool applicable to routine clinical practice. To date, no effective method exists that predicts the response to preoperative chemoradiation (CRT) in locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). Nevertheless, identification of patients who have a higher likelihood of responding to preoperative CRT could be crucial in decreasing treatment morbidity and avoiding expensive and time-consuming treatments. The aim of this study was to identify signatures or molecular markers related to response to pre-operative CRT in LARC. We analyzed the gene expression profiles of 26 pre-treatment biopsies of LARC (10 responders and 16 non-responders) without metastasis using Human WG CodeLink microarray platform. Two hundred and fifty seven genes were differentially over-expressed in the responder patient subgroup. Ingenuity Pathway Analysis revealed a significant ratio of differentially expressed genes related to cancer, cellular growth and proliferation pathways, and c-Myc network. We demonstrated that high Gng4, c-Myc, Pola1, and Rrm1 mRNA expression levels was a significant prognostic factor for response to treatment in LARC patients (p, C, CC and AB were supported by projects CTS2200 and PI-0710-2013 of Junta de Andalucía, TIN2013-41990-R of Programa Estatal I+D+i MINECO, and GREIB PYR_2010-02 and 2010_05 of University of Granada.
