In research on public art, there is a tendency to link art's transformative potentialities to its temporal dimensions, namely duration, rhythm and the type of social relations they produce. However, beyond acknowledgement of what it might do, temporality received little conceptual attention. Using The Garden Library as a case study, this article foregrounds temporality as a theoretical and methodological framework to examine public art's performative and structural patterns. The Garden Library is a multi-lingual and cultural space for refugees and migrant workers founded by the art group Arteam in the southern neighbourhood Neve Sha'anan, Tel Aviv in 2009. This article traces the project's changing temporalities and considers how they create an inclusive time-space that is largely unavailable for the migrant communities living in Israel. It largely draws from art history and human geography scholarship to conceptualise time and temporality in relation to space, practice, and displacement and to further deepen our understating of the unique modes of knowledge and socio-political critique public art enables. The article also brings forth the entanglement of multiple oppressed temporalities, including native Palestinians and non-Jewish refugees, and reads the Garden Library against the background of Israel's settler-colonial and ethnocratic state. Centring temporality, therefore, has two goals. The first is to examine the usage of time, alongside space, as a control mechanism and to draw links between shared experiences of dislocation and dispossession that are often studied separately. The second is to amplify the occasional collisions and intersections of marginalised temporal landscapes, including that of the Mizrahi (Arab-Jews) working class residents of Neve Sha'anan, and the possibility of such moments to produce counter-temporalities that adjust and resist forms of spatio-temporal power. Divorce is a prevalent life-changing event for parents and children that may negatively impact children's well-being. Parenting time arrangements are crucial for the lives of both children and parents; therefore, examining the influence on young adults who sometimes, as children, cannot speak or think about those influences is critical. The study's main objective was to explore how young adults who were formerly "the child in dispute" position themselves in their narratives and how they construct their past experiences. Twenty young adults were interviewed about their past experiences and current perspectives on its outcomes. According to van Manen's principles, the interviews were analyzed using a phenomenological approach. The three main themes that emerged were as follows: living under the shadow of parental conflict, coping strategies with the continuous conflict, and the professionals' roles in the custody dispute. Introduction Gestational diabetes mellitus during pregnancy is a common complication that affects 5-10% of pregnancies worldwide [1]. The prevalence of gestational diabetic mothers in our medical center was found to [...], Decreased bone density has been found among infants of diabetic mothers and among large-for-gestational-age newborns. To evaluate which etiologies (physical or metabolic effect) have the greatest impact on neonatal bone density. A case-control study was conducted that included two study groups: one comprising 20 appropriate-for-gestational-age (AGA) infants of gestational diabetic mothers (IGDM) and matched controls, and the other comprising 20 macrosomic infants (birth weight > 4 kg) and matched controls. Bone density was examined along the tibia bone using quantitative ultrasound that measured speed of sound. Bone density among the group of macrosomic infants was significantly lower than among the control group (2,976 vs. 3,120 m/s respectively, p < 0.005). No differences in bone density were found between infants of diabetic mothers and their controls (3,005 vs. 3,043 m/s respectively, p = 0.286). Low bone density was predicted only by birth weight (for every increase of 100 g) (OR 1.148 [CI 1.014-1.299], p = 0.003). Bone density was found to be low among macrosomic newborn infants, whereas among AGA-IGDM infants bone density was similar to that of the control group. These findings strengthen the hypothesis that reduced fetal movements secondary to fetal macrosomia constitute the mechanism for reduced bone density. The auditory system is a complex sensory network with an orchestrated multilayer regulatory programme governing its development and maintenance. Accumulating evidence has implicated long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) as important regulators in numerous systems, as well as in pathological pathways. However, their function in the auditory system has yet to be explored. Using a set of specific criteria, we selected four lncRNAs expressed in the mouse cochlea, which are conserved in the human transcriptome and are relevant for inner ear function. Bioinformatic characterization demonstrated a lack of coding potential and an absence of evolutionary conservation that represent properties commonly shared by their class members. RNAscope® analysis of the spatial and temporal expression profiles revealed specific localization to inner ear cells. Sub-cellular localization analysis presented a distinct pattern for each lncRNA and mouse tissue expression evaluation displayed a large variability in terms of level and location. Our findings establish the expression of specific lncRNAs in different cell types of the auditory system and present a potential pathway by which the lncRNA Gas5 acts in the inner ear. Studying lncRNAs and deciphering their functions may deepen our knowledge of inner ear physiology and morphology and may reveal the basis of as yet unresolved genetic hearing loss-related pathologies. Mutations in more than 150 genes are responsible for inherited hearing loss, with thousands of different, severe causal alleles that vary among populations. The Israeli Jewish population includes communities of diverse geographic origins, revealing a wide range of deafness‐associated variants and enabling clinical characterization of the associated phenotypes. Our goal was to identify the genetic causes of inherited hearing loss in this population, and to determine relationships among genotype, phenotype, and ethnicity. Genomic DNA samples from informative relatives of 88 multiplex families, all of self‐identified Jewish ancestry, with either non‐syndromic or syndromic hearing loss, were sequenced for known and candidate deafness genes using the HEar‐Seq gene panel. The genetic causes of hearing loss were identified for 60% of the families. One gene was encountered for the first time in human hearing loss: ATOH1 (Atonal), a basic helix‐loop‐helix transcription factor responsible for autosomal dominant progressive hearing loss in a five‐generation family. Our results show that genomic sequencing with a gene panel dedicated to hearing loss is effective for genetic diagnoses in a diverse population. Comprehensive sequencing enables well‐informed genetic counseling and clinical management by medical geneticists, otolaryngologists, audiologists, and speech therapists and can be integrated into newborn screening for deafness. Photosynthesis is one of the most fundamental and complex mechanisms in nature. It is a well‐studied process, however, some photosynthetic mechanisms are yet to be deciphered. One of the many proteins that take part in photosynthesis, cytochrome bd, is a terminal oxidase protein that plays a role both in photosynthesis and in respiration in various organisms, specifically, in cyanobacteria. To clarify the role of cytochrome bd in cyanobacteria, a system for the incorporation of an unnatural amino acid into a genomic membrane protein cytochrome bd was constructed in Synechococcus sp. PCC7942. N‐propargyl‐ l‐lysine (PrK) was incorporated into mutants of cytochrome bd. Incorporation was verified and the functionality of the mutant cytochrome bd was tested, revealing that both electrochemical and biochemical activities were relatively similar to those of the wild‐type protein. The incorporation of PrK was followed by a highly specific labeling and localization of the protein. PrK that was incorporated into the protein enabled a "click" reaction in a bio‐orthogonal manner through its alkyne group in a highly specific manner. Cytochrome bd was found to be localized mostly in thylakoid membranes, as was confirmed by an enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay, indicating that our developed localization method is reliable and can be further used to label endogenous proteins in cyanobacteria. CD300a is an inhibitory receptor for mast cells and eosinophils in allergic inflammation (AI); however, the spatiotemporal expression of CD300a and its potential roles in the resolution of AI are still to be determined. In this study, employing a mouse model of allergic peritonitis, we demonstrate that CD300a expression on peritoneal cells is regulated from inflammation to resolution. Allergic peritonitis-induced CD300a2/2 mice had a rapid increase in their inflammatory cell infiltrates and tryptase content in the peritoneal cavity compared with wild type, and their resolution process was significantly delayed. CD300a2/2 mice expressed lower levels of ALX/FPR2 receptor on peritoneal cells and had higher levels of LXA4 in the peritoneal lavage. CD300a activation on mouse bone marrow-derived mast cells regulated ALX/FPR2 expression levels following IgE-mediated activation. Together, these findings indicate a role for CD300a in AI and its resolution, in part via the specialized proresolving mediator LXA4 and ALX/FPR2 receptor pathway activation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: Defining how pregnant women respond to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and vaccination is critical to optimize vaccination strategies that protect mother and infant at the epidemic. This study aimed to compare anti-SARS-CoV-2-spike immunoglobulin G (IgG) of vaccinated versus infected women and to determine the optimal timing of maternal vaccination during pregnancy at the time of epidemic., Study Design: We collected maternal/cord blood at delivery (October 2021-March 2022) and measured anti-SARS-CoV-2-spike IgG geometric mean concentrations (IgG-GMCs) using a quantitative immunoassay. We compared groups according to timing and number of doses and correlated maternal and fetal IgG levels. We described the proportion of women with IgG levels above the 150 AU/mL positivity threshold according to the timing of infection/vaccination and performed a subanalysis for maternal IgG-GMC levels pre- and during the Omicron wave., Results: We included 238 vaccinated women, 125 who received two doses and 113 three doses, and 48 unvaccinated infected women. All groups infected/vaccinated in the second or third trimester had an IgG-GMC above the positivity threshold. Third-trimester vaccination (second/third dose) resulted in higher maternal and cord-blood IgG-GMC compared to the second trimester (maternal-IgG: 102,32 vs. 4,325 AU/mL, p  < 0.001; cord-IgG: 12,113 vs. 8,112 AU/mL, p  < 0.001). Compared with infected-only women, a higher proportion of vaccinated women with ≥2 doses and their newborns had IgG levels above the positivity threshold at all time points. In vaccinated women, there were higher maternal IgG-GMC levels during the Omicron wave than pre-Omicron., Conclusion: At the time of epidemic, receiving an additional COVID-19 vaccine dose in the third trimester resulted in a higher IgG-GMC compared to the second trimester. Relatively higher levels of maternal and cord IgG-GMC were achieved following vaccination than infection. Women infected during or before the first trimester might benefit from an additional third-trimester dose to prevent peripartum infection and to passively immunize their newborn.
