Materiālu funkcionālās īpašības ir cieši saistītas ar to struktūru un ķīmisko sastāvu. Darbā tiek pētīta saikne starp vara molibdāta (CuMoO4) un tā cieto šķīdumu ar volframu un cinku (CuMo1-xWxO4 un Cu1-xZnxMoO4) lokālo atomāro struktūru un termohromajām īpašībām, izmantojot rentgenstaru absorbcijas un rezonanses rentgenstaru emisijas spektroskopijas (XAS un RXES) metodes. Eksperimentālie dati tiek interpretēti, balstoties uz apgrieztās Monte-Karlo metodes modelēšanu un teorētiskiem aprēķiniem. Darbā tiek nodemonstrēts, ka XAS un RXES metodes ir labi piemērotas lokālas struktūras pētījumiem materiālos ar zemu simetriju, kā arī tiek izskaidrota apskatīto materiālu lokālās struktūras izkropļojumu un režģa dinamikas saistība ar to termohromajām īpašībām. In this thesis, the relationship between the local atomic structure and thermochromic properties of copper molybdate (CuMoO4) and its solid solutions with tungsten and zinc (CuMo1-xWxO4 and Cu1-xZnxMoO4) is studied using X-ray absorption and resonant X-ray emission spectroscopy (XAS and RXES). Experimental data are interpreted based on reverse Monte Carlo modeling and theoretical calculations. The study demonstrates the possibilities of the XAS and RXES methods to probe the local structure changes in materials with low symmetry, as well as explains the relationship between the local structure distortions and lattice dynamics of the considered materials and their thermochromic properties. Šajā darbā tika izmantota Z-scan metode, lai izpētītu organisko materiālu nelineāri optiskās īpašības. Tas ietvēra 27 dažādu organisko savienojumu Kerra un divfotonu absorbcijas (2FA) efektu mērījumus un iegūto rezultātu salīdzināšanu ar kvantu ķīmijas aprēķinu (KĶA) prognozēm, kā arī no polarizācijas atkarīgu Z-scan metodes izmantošanu, lai nošķirtu elektronisko un pārorientācijas ieguldījumu Kerra efektā. Rezultāti paradīja, ka KĶA lineārās polarizējamības vērtības var izmantot, lai prognozētu Kerra efekta pārorientācijas komponentes vērtību. Attiecībā uz elektronisko ieguldījumu, otrās kārtas hiperpolarizējamības, kas raksturo šī ieguldījumu lielumu, eksperimentālo un KĶA vērtību attiecība bija izteikti atkarīga no 2FA šķērsgriezuma. This included measurements of Kerr and Two-photon absorption (2PA) effects of 27 different organic compounds and acquired result comparison to Quantum Chemical calculations (QCC) as well as a study of polarization-resolved Z-scan method to separate Kerr effect electronic and reorientation contributions. It was shown that linear polarizability values given by QCC could be used to predict experimental values of reorientation contribution. Regarding the electronic contribution, the ratio of experimental and QCC values for second-order hyperpolarizability characterizing this contribution’s magnitude was strongly dependent on 2PA cross-section.
