Phthalates and bisphenol A, classified as endocrine disruptors, have weak estrogenic, anti-androgenic properties, and affect thyroid hormone regulation. The aim of this study on male rats was to compare the subacute toxic effects of low doses of single compounds (bis (2 &ndash, ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and bisphenol A (BPA)) with the effects of their mixture through different biochemical, hormonal, and hematological parameters. Rats were divided into five experimental groups: Control (corn oil), DEHP (50 mg/kg b.w./day), DBP (50 mg/kg b.w./day), BPA (25 mg/kg b.w./day), and MIX (50 mg/kg b.w./day DEHP + 50 mg/kg b.w/day DBP + 25 mg/kg b.w./day BPA). Animals were sacrificed after 28 days of oral treatment and blood was collected for further analysis. The results demonstrated that the mixture produced significant changes in lipid profile, liver-related biochemical parameters, and glucose level. Furthermore, the opposite effects of single substances on the thyroxine level have been shown in comparison with the mixture, as well as a more pronounced effect of the mixture on testosterone level. This study contributes to the body of knowledge on the toxicology of mixtures and gives one more evidence of the paramount importance of mixture toxicity studies, especially in assessing the endocrine disruptive effects of chemicals.

Improvement of COVID-19 clinical condition was seen in studies where combination of antiretroviral drugs, lopinavir and ritonavir, as well as immunomodulant antimalaric, chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine together with the macrolide-type antibiotic, azithromycin, was used for patient's treatment. Although these drugs are “old”, their pharmacological and toxicological profile in SARS-CoV-2 – infected patients are still unknown. Thus, by using in silico toxicogenomic data-mining approach, we aimed to assess both risks and benefits of the COVID-19 treatment with the most promising candidate drugs combinations: lopinavir/ritonavir and chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine + azithromycin. The Comparative Toxicogenomics Database (CTD; http://CTD.mdibl.org), Cytoscape software (https://cytoscape.org) and ToppGene Suite portal (https://toppgene.cchmc.org) served as a foundation in our research. Our results have demonstrated that lopinavir/ritonavir increased the expression of the genes involved in immune response and lipid metabolism (IL6, ICAM1, CCL2, TNF, APOA1, etc.). Chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine + azithromycin interacted with 6 genes (CCL2, CTSB, CXCL8, IL1B, IL6 and TNF), whereas chloroquine and azithromycin affected two additional genes (BCL2L1 and CYP3A4), which might be a reason behind a greater number of consequential diseases. In contrast to lopinavir/ritonavir, chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine + azithromycin downregulated the expression of TNF and IL6. As expected, inflammation, cardiotoxicity, and dyslipidaemias were revealed as the main risks of lopinavir/ritonavir treatment, while chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine + azithromycin therapy was additionally linked to gastrointestinal and skin diseases. Background/Aim. Fluoride has beneficial effect on dental caries prevention and enables high hardness of enamel. However, fluoride intake above optimal levels can have adverse effects on teeth and bones, especially in young children during the period of intense growth and teeth development. The aim of this study was to assess fluoride intake from water and toothpaste among 3-year-old children in Belgrade, Serbia, in the municipalities of Vračar and Novi Beograd. Methods. A questionnaire for the parents (n = 40) was used to provide information on the water consumption (tap and/or bottled water) and the brand of toothpaste used by children as well as the frequency of tooth brushing and the amount of toothpaste during brushing. Fluoride concentrations in water and toothpaste samples were determined electrochemically by using fluoride-selective electrode. Fluoride intake was estimated through a mathematical model commonly used by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Results. The obtained results indicate no significant difference in daily fluoride intake through drinking water and toothpaste in 3-year-old children in Vračar (n = 19) compared to Novi Beograd (n = 21) (p > 0.05). However, all estimated fluoride levels (0.089-0.625 mg/day) are significantly lower than the optimal daily intake level for caries protection (0.7 mg/day for children up to 4 years, FNB-USA National Institute of Medicine) and two to six times lower than tolerable upper fluoride level for the children of same age (1.3 mg/day, FNB-USA National Institute of Medicine). Furthermore, calculated daily fluoride intake per kilogram body weight confirm very low fluoride intake by water and toothpaste in children of investigated municipalities in Belgrade, being significantly below the recommended an adequate intake (0.05 mg/kg/day, EFSA). Conclusion. This preliminary study has shown that daily fluoride intake in 3-year-olds is lower than tolerable upper fluoride level, even not sufficient for the prevention of dental caries. Uvod/Cilj. Fluoridi imaju pozitivan efekat na prevenciju karijesa zuba kao i povećanje čvrstine zubnog emajla. Međutim, njihov unos iznad optimalnog može imati štetne efekte na zube i kosti, posebno kod male dece tokom intenzivnog rasta i razvoja zuba. Cilj ovog rada bio je da se proceni unos fluorida putem vode za piće i paste za zube kod dece uzrasta od tri godine u Beogradu, na teritoriji dve opštine, Vračar i Novi Beograd. Metode. Anketnim upitnicima (n = 40) za roditelje dobijeni su podaci o vrsti vode koju deca piju (česmenska i/ili flaširana), proizvodima koje koriste za čišćenje i negu zuba, učestalosti pranja zuba kao i količini paste za zube koja se koristi po jednom pranju. Sadržaj fluorida u vodi za piće i pastama za zube određen je elektrohemijski sa fluoridnom jonselektivnom elektrodom. Unos fluorida procenjen je korišćenjem matematičkog modela datog od strane Američke agencije za zaštitu životne sredine. Rezultati. Dobijeni rezultati pokazuju da nema statistički značajne razlike u dnevnom unosu fluorida putem vode za piće i paste za zube između dece uzrasta od tri godine na Vračaru i Novom Beogradu (p > 0,05). Međutim, sve procenjene vrednosti unosa fluorida (0,089-0,625 mg/dan) značajno su niže od optimalnog dnevnog unosa za prevenciju karijesa (0,7 mg/dan za decu uzrasta do 4 godine, FNB-Nacionalnog instituta medicine, SAD) i dva do šest puta niže od tolerišućeg gornjeg nivoa unosa fluorida za decu istog uzrasta (1,3 mg/dan, FNBNacionalnog instituta medicine, SAD). Štaviše, izračunati dnevni unosi fluorida izraženi po kilogramu telesne mase potvrđuju veoma nizak unos fluorida kod dece ispitivanih opština u Beogradu, čak značajno niže od preporučenog optimalnog unosa (0,05 mg/kg/dan, EFSA). Zaključak. Ovim preliminarnim istraživanjem pokazano je da je dnevni unos fluorida kod trogodišnjaka u Beogradu značajno niži od tolerišućeg gornjeg nivoa unosa fluorida, čak niži od optimalnog unosa za prevenciju karijesa.

Background: Cadmium and lead are widespread and non-biodegradable pollutants of great concern to human health. In real life scenarios, we are exposed to mixtures of chemicals rather than single chemicals, and it is therefore of paramount importance to assess their toxicity. In this study, we investigated the toxicity of Cd and Pb alone and as a mixture in an animal model of acute exposure. Methods: Experimental groups received a single treatment of aqueous solution of Cd-chloride (15 and 30 mg/kg body weight (b.w.) and Pb-acetate (150 mg/kg b.w.), while the mixture group received 15 mg Cd/kg b.w. and 150 mg Pb/kg b.w. Toxic effects of individual metals and their mixture were investigated on hematological and biochemical parameters, and the redox status in the plasma, liver, and kidneys of treated Wistar rats. Results: Tissue-specific changes were recorded in various parameters of oxidative damage, while the accumulation of metals in tissues accompanied the disturbances of both hematological and biochemical parameters. It was observed that the level of toxic metals in tissues had a different distribution pattern after mixture and single exposure. Conclusions: Comprehensive observations suggest that exposure to Cd and Pb mixtures produces more pronounced effects compared to the response observed after exposure to single metal solutions. However, further research is needed to confirm toxicokinetic or toxicodynamic interactions between these two toxic metals in the organisms.

Background/Aim. The beneficial effects of medicinal plants are well-known from the ancient times. However, expansion of phytopharmacy and phytotherapy occured during the last decades. Medicinal plants can absorb environmental contaminants from the ground and consequently may cause harmful effects on human health. Quality control usually comprises standard methodology which includes macroscopic identification and examination of active ingredients. Additionaly, there is a permanent need to control the level of pollutants in herbs, with a particular attention to the level of toxic metals. In this study we estimated the level of contamination by determining the content of cadmium (Cd) in the herbs of Hypericum perforatum and Thymus serpyllum collected from the different localities of the mountains Rtanj and Ozren. Methods. Herbs of investigated plants were collected during July 2005 from various localities of Rtanj and Ozren mountains. After drying, homogenization and mineralization, Cd content was determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Results. The obtained results show that Cd content varies significantly in Hypericum perforatum samples collected. The lowest Cd level was found in samples from the one of Rtanj localities (0.25 mg Cd/kg), while the highest was observed in Hypericum perforatum from Ozren locality (1.24 mg/kg). Levels of Cd in the three of four investigated localities were higher than pro posed by WHO (0.3 mg/kg dried herb material). In all investigated samples of Thymus serpyllum herbs Cd levels were below the limit of detection of analytical method (0.2 mg Cd/kg dried materials). Conclusion. This work contributes to the issue of Cd content in Hypericum perforatum and Thymus serpyllum grown in localities of Rtanj and Ozren, and implies the importance for systemic control of Cd content in Hypericum species in order to provide safety of their preparations. Furthermore, regarding Cd toxicity, maximal permissible level of Cd in plant material should be evaluated and established concerning national legislative frame. Uvod/Cilj. Lekovitost nekih biljnih vrsta bila je poznata čoveku još pre naše ere. Međutim, do ekspanzije fitofarmacije i fitoterapije dolazi tek poslednjih decenija. Lekovite biljke usled zagađenja životne sredine mogu da apsorbuju prisutne zagađivače. Kvalitet biljnih sirovina prati se standardnim metodama koje se prvenstveno odnose na identifikaciju biljne vrste i ispitivanja aktivnih principa. Ipak, i pored toga, uočena je potreba za kontrolisanjem i praćenjem nivoa zagađivača, među kojima značajno mesto zauzimaju toksični metali. U ovom radu ispitivan je sadržaj kadmijuma (Cd) u herbi dve biljne vrste, Hypericum perforatum L. i Thymus serpyllum L. koje su prikupljene sa različitih lokaliteta planina Rtanj i Ozren, sa ciljem procene nivoa kontaminacije. Metode. Herbe ispitivanih lekovitih biljaka sakupljene su tokom jula 2005. godine sa različitih lokaliteta planina Rtnja i Ozrena. Nakon sušenja, homogenizacije i mineralizacije, sadržaj Cd određivan je metodom atomske apsorpcione spektrofotometrije. Rezultati. Dobijeni rezultati ukazali su na značajne varijacije sadržaja Cd u sakupljenim uzorcima Hypericum perforatum. Najniži sadržaj Cd od 0,25 mg Cd/kg dobijen je u uzorku sa lokaliteta Rtnja, dok je najviši nivo Cd određen u uzorku Hypericum perforatum sa lokaliteta Ozrena (1,24 mg/kg). Dobijene vrednosti sadržaja Cd u herbi Hypericum perforatum sa tri od četiri ispitivana lokaliteta bile su iznad vrednosti koju preporučuje SZO (0,3 mg/kg osušene droge). U svim ispitivanim uzorcima Thymus serpyllum nivoi Cd bili su ispod nivoa detekcije primenjene analitičke tehnike (0,2 mg Cd/kg osušene herbe). Zaključak. Rezultati ovog rada doprineli su istraživanju sadržaja Cd u biljnim vrstama Hypericum perforatum i Thymus serpyllum koje rastu na lokalitetima Rtnja i Ozrena i ukazuju na potrebu uvođenja sistematske kontrole sadržaja Cd u Hypericum vrstama radi bezbedne upotrebe preparata izrađenih na bazi ovih biljnih vrsta. Imajući u vidu toksičnost Cd nameće se potreba da se nacionalnim zakonodavstvom odrede i ustanove maksimalno dozvoljene koncentracije sadržaja ovog metala u biljnim lekovitim sirovinama.

Introduction. Intermediate syndrome (IMS) was described a few decades ago, however, there is still a controversy regarding its exact etiology, risk factors, diagnostic parameters and required therapy. Considering that acute poisonings are treated in different types of medical institutions this serious complication of organophosphate insecticide (OPI) poisoning is frequently overlooked. The aim of this paper was to present a case of IMS in organophosphate poisoning, which, we believe, provides additional data on the use of oxime or atropine. Case report. After a well-resolved cholinergic crisis, the patient developed clinical presentation of IMS within the first 72 h from deliberate malathion ingestion. The signs of IMS were weakness of proximal limb muscles and muscles innervated by motor cranial nerves, followed by the weakness of respiratory muscles and serious respiratory insufficiency. Malathion and its active metabolite were confirmed by analytical procedure (liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry). Pralidoxime methylsulphate, adiministered as a continuous infusion until day 8 (total dose 38.4 g), and atropine until the day 10 (total dose 922 mg) did not prevent the development of IMS, hence the mechanical ventilation that was stopped after 27 h had to be continued until the day 10. Conclusion. Continuous pralidoxime methylsulphate infusion with atropine did not prevent the development of IMS, most likely due to the delayed treatment and insufficient oxime dose but also because of chemical structure and lipophilicity of ingested OPI. A prolonged intensive care monitoring and respiratory care are the key management for the intermediate syndrome. Uvod. Intermedijerni sindrom (IMS) opisan je pre nekoliko decenija, međutim i dalje postoje kontroverze u vezi sa njegovom etiologijom, faktorima rizika, dijagnostičkim parametrima i potrebnom terapijom. S obzirom na to da se akutna trovanja leče u medicinskim ustanovama različitog tipa, ova teška komplikacija akutnih trovanja organofosfornim insekticidima (OFI) često se ne prepoznaje. Cilj rada bio je da se prikaže slučaj akutnog trovanja organofosfornim insekticidom koji će dati dodatne podatke o upotrebi oksima i atropina. Prikaz bolesnika. Nakon kupirane holinergičke krize kod bolesnika, 72 h od namerne ingestije malationa, došlo je do razvoja kliničke slike IMS. Znaci IMS su uključivali slabost mišića gornjih ekstremiteta i mišića inervisanih motornim kranijalnim nervima, što je bilo praćeno slabošću respiratorne muskulature i teškom respiratornom insuficijencijom. Malation i njegov aktivni metabolit potvrđeni su analitičkom procedurom (tečna hromatografijamasena spektrometrija). Kontinuiranom infuzijom pralidoksim metilsulfata do osmog dana (ukupno 38,4 g) i atropina do desetog dana (ukupna doza 922 mg), nije sprečen razvoj IMS, te je mehanička ventilacija, koja je prekinuta nakon 27 h, morala biti nastavljena do desetog dana. Zaključak. Kontinuiranom infuzijom pralidoksim-metilsulfata i atropina nije sprečen razvoj IMS, najverovatnije zbog odloženog početka lečenja i nedovoljne doze primenjenog oksima, ali i hemijske strukture i lipofilnosti ingestiranog OFI. Istaknut je značaj produžene opservacije u jedinici intenzivne nege i respiratorne podrške u lečenju intermedijernog sindroma.

Nutritional benefits of fish can be attributed primarily to the content of high-quality proteins, vitamins, elements and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. On the other hand, fish and fishery products are susceptible to contamination by chemicals that have been recognized as ubiquitous environmental pollutants such as toxic elements and polychlorinated organic compounds. Fish consumption could be therefore considered as one of the major sources of human exposure to all above-mentioned environmental contaminants. This paper is focused on mercury (Hg) that enters the environment by both, natural means (such as volcanic activity, erosions and weathering, factors which contribute to the presence of Hg in water, soil and the atmosphere) and human activities - mining, fossil fuels combustion, industrial emissions, direct application of fertilizers and fungicides as well as disposal of solid waste. Total concentrations of Hg were measured in fish muscle and canned fish products available on Serbian market. Total of 651 samples were analyzed: 350 samples of marine fish (hake, mackerel, sprat, scorpanea, gilthead, salmon), 34 samples of freshwater fish (trout and carp) and 267 samples of canned fish products (tuna and sardines). Data were collected during 2011. For the purpose of intake assessment, we used the data obtained from the GEMS/Food Consumption Cluster Diets database. According to this source, estimated average weekly consumption of marine fish is 106.4 g/week, while freshwater fish and canned fish contribute to the consumption with 29.4 g and 18.2 g/week respectively. Mercury concentrations in marine fish were in the range of 0.005-0.208 μgg-1 (mean 0.040 μgg-1); in freshwater fish 0.005- 0.099 μgg-1 (mean 0.020 μgg-1) and in canned products they were in the range of 0.005-0.642 μgg-1 (mean 0.064 μgg-1). All analyzed samples contained mercury below the maximum level laid down by the European Union and Serbian regulation. The estimated weekly intake for total mercury, based on mean mercury value in fish and average body mass of 70 kg, was 0.095 μg/kg b.w./week. Based on FAO/WHO recommended safe limit and on obtained results, we can conclude that the intake of mercury in the case of consuming fish and canned fish products is lower than the safe limit. Nutritivna korist od konzumacije ribe ogleda se, pre svega u sadržaju visoko vrednih proteina, vitamina, makro i mikroelemenata i omega-3 polinezasićenih masnih kiselina. Sa druge strane, riba i proizvodi od ribe su u značajnoj meri podložni hemijskoj kontaminaciji ubikvitarnim zagađivačima kao što su teški metal i polihlorovana organska jedinjenja. Zbog svega ovoga, konzumacija ribe se smatra jednim od najznačajnijih izvora izloženosti navedenim kontaminentima. U radu je ispitivana kontaminacija živom koja se u spoljašnjoj sredini može naći kao posledica prirodnih procesa (vulkanska aktivnost, erozija tla i klimatska dešavanja koja doprinose prisustvu žive u vodi, zemljištu i atmosferi), kao i aktivnosti čoveka - eksploatacija ruda, sagorevanje fosilnih goriva, emisija industrijskih gasova, direktna primena veštačkih đubriva i fungicida, kao i neadekvatno odlaganje čvrstog otpada. Sadržaj ukupne žive je određivan u svežoj i konzervisanoj ribi sa srpskog tržišta. Ispitan je 651 uzorak: 350 uzoraka morske ribe (oslić, skuša, sardela, škarpina, orada i losos), 34 uzorka slatkovodne ribe (šaran i pastrmka) i 267 uzoraka konzervisane ribe (tuna i sardela). Svi uzorci su analizirani tokom 2011. godine. Za procenu unosa korišćeni su podaci iz 'GEMS/Food Consumption Cluster Diets database'. Prema ovom izvoru, procenjena prosečna nedeljna konzumacija morske ribe iznosi 106,4 g, slatkovodne 29,4 g dok je ova vrednost za konzervisane proizvode od ribe 18,2 g. Sardžaj žive u morskoj ribi se kretao u opsegu od 0,005 do 0,208 μgg-1 (srednja vrednost 0,040 μgg-1); u slatkovodnoj ribi 0,005-0,099 μgg-1 (srednja vrednost 0,020 μgg-1), dok se u konzervisanim ribljim proizvodima sadržaj žive kretao od 0,005 do 0,642 μgg-1 (srednja vrednost 0,064 μgg-1). Nivo žive u svim ispitanim uzorcima je bio ispod maksimalno dozvoljenih vrednosti propisanih relevantnom legislativom EU kao i domaćim propisima. Procenjeni nedeljni unos žive baziran na srednjoj vrednosti žive u konzumiranoj ribi i prosečnoj telesnoj težini od 70 kg, bio je 0,095 μg/kg telesne mase nedeljno. Na osnovu preporuka FAO/WHO i dobijenih rezultata, može se zaključiti da je unos žive pri konzumaciji morske i slatkovodne ribe i konzervisanih ribljih proizvoda, niži od preporučenih graničnih vrednosti.

The aim of this study was to see how a mixture of cadmium (Cd) and decabrominated diphenyl ether (BDE209) affect thyroid function, namely thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), thyroxin (T4), free thyroxin (FT4), triiodothyronin (T3), and free triiodothyronin (FT3) in Wistar rats (eight per group) receiving either a single substance or their combination by gavage for 28 days. Three groups were receiving Cd alone in the doses of 2.5 mg kg-1, 7.5 mg kg-1, or 15 mg kg-1 b. w. a day, three groups were receiving BDE209 in the doses of 1000 mg kg-1, 2000 mg kg-1, or 4000 mg kg-1 b. w. a day, while nine groups were receiving different mixtures of Cd and BDE209 in these doses (3x3 design). The results have indicated that the Cd+BDE209 mixtures more potently disrupt thyroid hormone homeostasis than would be expected from these chemicals alone.

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are structurally similar to thyroid hormones and can affect thyroid hormone homeostasis. Simultaneous exposure to PBDEs and heavy metals, specially Cd is likely to occur under real life conditions. Therefore, we have investigated the potential thyroid hormones level effects following 28 day long oral aplication of mixture of decabromodiphenyl ether (BDE209) and cadmium (Cd) in male Wistar rats (~200-240 g). Animals were divided in totally 9 groups (6 to 8 in each): control group, vehiculum (DMSO) group, groups of BDE 209 (1000, 2000 and 4000 mg/kg/bw, respectively) and three groups of combination of each dose of BDE209 and Cd. Total serum tetraiodothyronine (T4) was significantly reduced in all groips comparing with control. Total serum triiodothyronine (T3) was significantly decreased only in groups treated with combinations of BDE209 and Cd comparing with control. Free T3 and T4 have showed decrease at the certain doses not related with any dose dependent manner. Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) could not be measured because of disturbance of laboratory analyser. Results indicates that BDE209 affect thyroid hormon homeostasis, but observing the results of effects of mixture of this chemical with Cd, we can not conclude how Cd influence BDE 209 thyroid toxicity at this low dose exposure level of 2, 5 mg/kg/bw. Coming results where combinations of BDE209 with higher doses of Cd may reveal possible interection.

The aim of this work was to assess the risk due to mercury (Hg), dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) and non-dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (ndl PCBs) intake via fish consumption in Serbia. We have developed 24 scenarios using four concentration levels (mean, maximum, 50th and 95th percentile) of contaminants, determined in 521 samples of fish products available on Serbian market; two consumption levels (Food and Agriculture Organization/World Health Organization data and recommendation of American Heart Association); and three body weights (5th, 50th and 95th percentile). All the values concerning the intake of DDT are below the corresponding health based guidance value. Calculated weekly intake of Hg using maximal concentration, intake of 340 g/week and 5th percentile of body weight exceeded the provisional tolerable weekly intake (PTWI). When maximal and 95th percentile concentration of ndl PCBs was used, weekly intakes exceeded a “guidance value” with one exception i.e ., when 95th percentile of concentration along with 95th percentile of body weight were used. Concerning Hg and ndl PCBs, when extreme concentrations were used, HIs exceeded the value of 1, indicating that fish and fishery products may pose a threat to consumer’s health.

During the last ten years, mixture toxicology has undergone a remarkable and productive development. Mixture of decabromodiphenyl ether (BDE209) and cadmium (Cd) was chosen in this study based on the data that BDE209 from the group of persistant organic pollutants and Cd from the group of heavy metal pollutants are most abundant in human samples. Aim of this study was to evaluate whether simultaneous exposure to BDE 209 and Cd can influence deviation from response obtaned during single exposure. Wistar rats (~200-240 g) were exposed orally, by gavage, for 28 days to the 3 doses of BDE 209 (1000, 2000 and 4000 mg/kg/bw, respectively) and to single dose of Cd (2, 5 mg/kg/bw), as well as to 3 groups of combination of each dose of BDE209 and Cd. Control groups were also included in experiment, one where DMSO was administered as a vehiculum, and control group withouth any treatment (totally 9 groups). Liver enzymes activities (aspartate aminotransferase-AST, alanine aminotransferase-ALT and γ-glutamyltransferase-γ-GT) were measured as a result of effects of investigated contaminants. Combination of BDE209 and Cd do not influence activity of AST and ALT obtained during exposure to the both contaminants separately. On the other hand, activity of γ-GT was impaired, but only in combination of lowest dose of BDE209 and Cd comparing with group exposed onl yto the BDE 209. Enzymes activities did not follow dose dependent manner. We suppose that the results of histlogical examination will give better explanation. And also we will continue with further investigation on other target organ toxicity of this mixture.
