Abstract The role of fractional integral operators can be found as one of the best ways to generalize classical inequalities. In this paper, we use different fractional integral operators to produce some inequalities for the weighted and the extended Chebyshev functionals. The results are more general than the available classical results in the literature.

The aim of this article is to obtain new Hermite–Hadamard–Mercer-type inequalities using Raina’s fractional integral operators. We present some distinct and novel fractional Hermite–Hadamard–Mercer-type inequalities for the functions whose absolute value of derivatives are convex. Our main findings are generalizations and extensions of some results that existed in the literature.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the relationship between the level of improvement in blood gas parameters in the first hours of age and normal and diffusion-restriction brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Materials and Methods: The study is a retrospective cohort study. Cases of the diagnosis of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) who received therapeutic hypothermia in our unit between January 2022 and January 2024 were included in the study. Clinical findings, blood gas values (first, cord; second, first hours of age; third, 24th hour of age), and MRI results were recorded from the case files and compared between normal and diffusion-restricted brain MRI groups. Results: Diffusion-restricted brain MRI was detected in 10 out of a total of 19 cases. The 5-minute Apgar score was lower (p=0.038) and mechanical ventilator support was higher (P=.003) in the diffusion-restricted MRI group than in the normal MRI group. The relationship was shown between high base excess (P=.022) in cord blood gas, low HCO₃ (p=0.025) in the 24th hour blood gas, and convulsion (P=.033) in the diffusion-restricted MRI group. Additionally, it was found that only the improvement level of the pH value in the first hour of age was significant (P=.025) in the diffusion-restricted brain MRI group than in the normal MRI group. Conclusion: We showed that there was a relationship between diffusion-restricted brain MRI and the improvement level in the pH value in the first hours of age of patients diagnosed with HIE who received treatment for therapeutic hypothermia.

This study introduces a hierarchical key assignment scheme (HKAS) based on the closest vector problem in an inner product space (CVP-IPS). The proposed scheme offers a comprehensive solution with scalability, flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and high performance. The key features of the scheme include CVP-IPS based construction, the utilization of two public keys by the scheme, a distinct basis set designated for each class, a direct access scheme to enhance user convenience, and a rigorous mathematical and algorithmic presentation of all processes. This scheme eliminates the need for top-down structures and offers a significant benefit in that the lengths of the basis sets defined for classes are the same and the costs associated with key derivation are the same for all classes, unlike top-down approaches, where the higher class in the hierarchy generally incurs much higher costs. The scheme excels in both vertical and horizontal scalability due to its utilization of the access graph and is formally proven to achieve strong key indistinguishability security (S-KI-security). This research represents a significant advancement in HKAS systems, providing tangible benefits and improved security for a wide range of use cases.

Abstract Two covalently linked triisopropylsilyl-ethynylated phenazinothiadiazoles were prepared through condensation of a spirocyclic and a bicyclic tetraketone with a 5,6-diaminobenzothiadiazole. The spirobisindene- and the ethanoanthracene-based linkers render the electron acceptors amorphous in thin films. The optoelectronic properties of the non-conjugated dimers are indistinguishable from that of the crystalline monomer. Bulk heterojunction solar cells were prepared with power conversion efficiencies peaking at 1.6%. The choice of linker neither influenced optical and electrochemical properties nor device performance.

In this work, we construct a key access management scheme that seamlessly transitions any hierarchical-like access policy to the digital medium. The proposed scheme allows any public cloud system to be used as a private cloud. We consider the data owner an entity consisting of several organization units. We provide a secure method for each user of this entity to access the public cloud from both inside and outside the company’s network. The idea of our key access control scheme, which is based on Shamir’s secret sharing algorithm and polynomial interpolation method, is suitable especially for hierarchical organizational structures. It offers a secure, flexible, and hierarchical key access mechanism for organizations utilizing mission-critical data. It also minimizes concerns about moving mission-critical data to the public cloud and ensures that only users with sufficient approvals from the same or higher privileged users can access the key by making use of the topological ordering of a directed graph, including self-loop. Main overheads such as public and private storage needs are reduced to a tolerable level, and the key derivation is computationally efficient. From a security perspective, our scheme is both resistant to collaboration attacks and provides key indistinguishability security. Since the key does not need to be held anywhere, the problem of a data breach based on key disclosure risk is also eliminated.

Aim: Thoracic epidural analgesia (TEA) in cardiac surgery provides stable hemodynamics and postoperative analgesia by reducing stress response. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of TEA in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) on postoperative pain, myocardial protection, intensive care unit (ICU) and hospital length of stay. Methods: After receiving approval from the hospital scientific committee and obtaining written informed consent from the participants, 40 patients, who were undergoing elective CABG, were included in the study. The patients were prospectively randomized into two groups as TEA group (n=20) and control group (n=20). Epidural catheters were placed one day before surgery at the T5-T6 level, levobupivacaine 2 µg/mL and fentanyl 5 mL/hr infusions were initiated in the ICU. Control group received intravenous infusion of fentanyl 8 µg/kg/hr. Infusions continued for 24 hours in both groups.
