This paper investigates the recovery period of consumer salmon purchase intention after food scares at the Xinfadi wholesale market in China during the COVID-19 pandemic and examines the impact mechanism of risk preference and risk perception on the period duration. Our empirical analysis is based on a survey of 655 salmon consumers in Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai. We estimate that the purchase intention recovery period lasts 21 weeks among the surveyed consumers after the shock. Although the epidemic risk levels of the three cities are different, there is a significant difference only in the recovery period from 5 to 7th weeks. The Cox proportional hazards model results further show that consumers with less risk-averse are more active in resuming purchase intention, and the effect of risk perception is just the opposite. Moreover, risk perception has a moderating effect on risk preference and recovery period. Finally, we put forward three possible policy implications: attaching nucleic acid detection certificate, strengthening cold chain management, and diversifying cooking methods. Camptothecin (CPT) and its derivatives from Camptotheca acuminata have antitumor effects as a DNA topoisomerase I inhibitor. Previous studies have shown that application of exogenous abscisic acid (ABA) significantly promoted the accumulation level of CPT and induced the expression of CPT biosynthetic genes, which revealed that ABA signaling is effectively involved in regulating CPT biosynthesis in C. acuminata. In this study, an ABA transporter, CaABAT, which encodes a plasma membrane protein belonging to the ABCG subfamily, was identified in C. acuminata, and its ABA import activity was confirmed by transport assay in yeast cells. Real-time PCR analysis showed that CaABAT was predominately expressed in C. acuminata leaves and its expression could be significantly upregulated by exogenous ABA treatment. Silencing of CaABAT down-regulated the expression of ABA response genes, which indicated that translocation of ABA by CaABAT should initiate changes in plant physiological status in response to ABA signaling, thus leading to decreased expression of CPT biosynthesis pathway genes and low accumulation levels of CPT in C. acuminata. Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of guiding plane preparation for removable partial dentures (RPDs) using 3D-printed templates compared to the freehand method., Materials and Methods: Twenty partially edentulous patients requiring RPDs were randomly divided into two groups: the template-aided group (n = 10) and the freehand group (n = 10). Fifty-six guiding planes were prepared by a single clinician using two different methods. The angle deviation between the prepared guiding plane and the RPD path of placement was measured for both groups. The 3D deviations between the prepared guiding plane and the designed guiding plane were measured for the template-aided group. Patient satisfaction with the RPD was evaluated 2 weeks post-RPD wearing., Results: The angular deviation observed in the template-aided group (1.77±1.11 degrees) was significantly lower than that (6.29±4.18 degrees) in the freehand group (p < .001). Additionally, the 3D deviation between the prepared guiding plane and the designed guiding plane of the template-aided group was 106.2±40.9 µm. No significant difference in patient satisfaction scores related to RPD wearing was found between the two groups., Conclusions: Utilizing the cobalt-chromium (CoCr) alloy template significantly improved the accuracy of guiding plane preparation in the clinic, irrespective of the site of the abutment tooth., (© 2024 by the American College of Prosthodontists.)

Introduction: The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic affects individuals' mental health that can result in fear of getting COVID-19 infection and depression. Prior research has demonstrated that both psychological capital and perceived social support are related to the severity of depression. Yet no study explored the direction of associations between these factors. This undermines the validity of psychological capital as a basis for health interventions., Methods: This study aimed to explore the association between psychological capital, perceived social support, employment pressure, and depressive symptoms during COVID-19. A cross-sectional design was employed in a sample of 708 Chinese senior medical students who were asked to complete an online questionnaire survey., Results: Results indicated that psychological capital negatively predicts depressive symptoms (β = -0.55, p < 0.001); perceived social support plays a mediating role in the impact of psychological capital on depressive symptoms (indirect = -0.11, SE = 0.02, p < 0.001, 95%CI [-0.16, -0.07]), and these associations were moderated by employment pressure. Medical students with high employment pressure, the negative impact of psychological capital on depressive symptoms was statistically significant (β = -0.37, SE = 0.05, p < 0.001, 95% CI [-0.046, -0.27]); when the perceived employment pressure was low, the negative effect of psychological capital on depressive symptoms, although significant, was stronger (β = -0.49, SE = 0.04, p < 0.001, 95% CI [-0.57, -0.40])., Discussion: The current study highlights that it is of great significance to address Chinese medical students' employment pressure and improve their mental health during the COVID-19 epidemic., Competing Interests: The authors declare that the research was conducted in the absence of any commercial or financial relationships that could be construed as a potential conflict of interest., (Copyright © 2023 Huang, Lin, Yang, Bai, Tang and Yuan.)

Purpose: Although mock-ups have been widely used in dental esthetic rehabilitation, their accuracy has not been quantitatively evaluated, and the methods of fabricating mock-ups are various. This in vitro study investigated the thickness accuracy of mock-ups fabricated with different silicone matrices., Methods: Mock-ups of maxillary anterior teeth were respectively fabricated by 72 silicone matrices that were equally divided into four groups (n=18 for each group) according to two variables of the silicone matrices: labial margin position (equigingival or cover labial gingiva for 1-2 mm) and palatal notches (with or without notches on the palatal side of silicone matrices). The thickness accuracy of the mock-ups was analyzed using 3D scanning and 3D deviation analysis techniques compared with diagnostic waxing. The thickness change ratios of the mock-ups were compared using a two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). One-way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used to compare differences in thickness change ratios between different teeth in each group., Results: The thickness accuracy of the mock-ups was significantly affected by the labial margin position and the palatal notches of the silicone matrices, respectively, in the labial area and the incisal area. The most accurate mock-ups were made using silicone matrices with equigingival labial margins and palatal notches. The thickness accuracy of the mock-ups was also inconsistent on different teeth., Conclusion: The mock-ups fabricated by silicone matrices were thicker than the diagnostic waxing. The application of silicone matrices to equigingival labial margins and palatal notches was beneficial to the thickness accuracy of mock-ups.
